(History books are written by people, how to tell whether they are true or false)
Half a month has passed since the New Year Ceremony ended, and all the monks gathered in the Sutra Pavilion to study Buddhism. Lanfeng and Jingguo Jingsi had already gone to the upper level of the Sutra Pavilion six years ago. Jingguo Jingsi was still meditating on the fourth level of the scripture, but Lan Feng had already seen the sixth level.
The complexity of this scripture exceeded the imagination of the three of them, and Lan Feng still had a frown on his face after reading it. This sutra only talks about popularizing Buddhist principles, helping others through small things, sowing good causes and reaping good results. But among the millions of people in this world, how many can do it? How many people can let go of those false reputations?
Is it possible to transcend by just relying on faith? Lanfeng stroked his head and murmured: "The truth is explained clearly, and everyone understands it. But once you understand it, you will definitely be able to do it?" He thought to himself, if the Buddha really sympathized with the world, why did he let the monsters massacre the village back then? If the Buddha truly sympathizes with the world, why would he allow those officials and nobles to control the power of the common people?
Officials and dignitaries worship Buddha statues, and common people also worship Buddha statues. Why is it that the common people suffer, while the officials are free? Why are the people guilty? Can this Buddha... really see the suffering in the world? Can this sutra really save people in the world?
It was already late at night when Lan Feng was meditating. Monk Jingsi had already returned to his room. Seeing that the lights upstairs were still on, Jingguo went up to the sixth-floor Sutra Pavilion and said to Lan Feng, "Junior brother, the night is already deep. Aren't you going back yet?"
Lanfeng thanked Jingguo and said, "Senior brother, please go back first. These six-level scriptures may be able to clear up my doubts. I want to read them for a while."
Jingguo knew that her junior brother had an inhuman understanding of Buddhist scriptures, so she didn't want to bother him any more, so she said to take care of yourself and left.
Lan Feng was reading in the Sutra Pavilion alone with a lamp on. He breathed a sigh of relief and rubbed his hands. The cold winter weather was still piercing his heart. Lanfeng finished reading a scripture and was about to put it back when he suddenly saw the word "Swastika" faintly engraved on the pillar at the end of the corridor.
Lan Feng felt something strange and walked over. The word "卍" didn't look like it was newly carved. There was some dust on it and it was already very blurry. Lan Feng raised his hand and groped on it, wiping away the dust bit by bit. Only then did I see that there was a line of small characters below the word "卍".
"Om Mani Padme Hum..." Lan Feng read softly.
As soon as he finished speaking, a subtle mechanical sound sounded. Lan Feng looked for the sound and saw a hidden compartment at the corner between the side of the pillar and the sutra cabinet!
Lan Feng swallowed. How could there be such a hidden compartment in the Sutra Pavilion? What else is there? Lan Feng was thinking...
"Don't look at anything that's inappropriate, don't say anything that's inappropriate, don't listen to anything that's inappropriate, don't do anything that's inappropriate..." Lan Feng calmed down and murmured...
However, curiosity still forced him to reach out to the hidden compartment.
Lan Feng leaned down, lying on the ground and stretched out his hand. This secret compartment was quite deep, and Lan Feng fumbled for a long time before he found something like a box. He took out the box and saw that it was a wooden box made of red sandalwood with a seal on it.
Lan Feng lifted the wooden box and looked at it. The wooden box was one foot square, and there was nothing strange about it. But why was there a seal on it? He took the wooden box and sat under the lamp. After thinking about it, he couldn't help but break the seal. He slowly opened the wooden box, and with a creaking sound, he saw a book lying in the wooden box.
When Lan Feng saw the booklet, he suddenly broke out in cold sweat. He only felt that his hands were shaking and his mouth was dry, as if a thunderbolt had struck his head on a sunny day!
That booklet clearly had four big characters written on it: "Transcripts of Tripitaka"! !
After a long time, Lan Feng breathed heavily and suppressed his excitement. As he flipped through the pages, he felt that Tripitaka's journey to the West was still vivid in his mind. However, the records in this record were somewhat different from the dramas he usually heard. Even when the Xiliang Women's Kingdom was in trouble, he had a faint feeling that this monk had moved his heart!
Not to mention what it said in the play, I only saw this record: "She should be a graceful and beautiful woman who recognizes my vulgar appearance. However, in this life, I have already accepted Buddhism, and it is difficult for me to accept you. If there is a fate in the next life, I will definitely live up to my youth and share the dynasty." Twilight..."
Lan Feng was horrified when he read it, and he flipped through one article after another. But when he turned to the last few pages, he found that there were traces of being torn by someone. Then he added a few more pages, which said that four people took a boat at Lingyun Ferry. After arriving at Daleiyin Temple, he became a Buddha and returned to the East to study Buddhist scriptures.
This is, the following pages are clearly different from the previous handwriting...
"Is this really what Master Tripitaka left behind back then?" Lan Feng asked hesitantly.
As Lan Feng was flipping through the pages, the last few pages of the transcript were suddenly burned by fire. Lanfeng was so frightened that he let go and quickly stamped out the flames with his feet. He picked up the transcript and looked at it, but sighed that the last few pages of different transcripts had been burned to ashes.
At this time, Lan Feng couldn't calm down. He was holding this record in his hand and didn't know what to do.
At this time, there was a strange noise coming from the top floor of the Sutra Storage Pavilion. A familiar figure appeared in front of Lan Feng again. It was the figure in Baiyuan seven years ago. Now that we meet again, Lan Feng has long lost the shock he felt at that time, but he still can't see the figure.
Lanfeng put down the manual and stepped forward to salute: "Amitabha, the young monk is here to read the scriptures. I don't know that I have disturbed the donor. Please forgive me..."
The figure pointed at the Tripitaka transcript. Lanfeng frowned, held the transcript in his hand and said, "I'm sorry, donor, this little monk can't give it to you..."
The figure whined and stepped forward to grab the transcript. Lan Feng saw this and quickly stepped aside. Seeing that the attack failed, the figure rushed towards Lan Feng again.
As they went back and forth, Lan Feng's strength gradually weakened. Seeing Lan Feng's weakness, the figure opened his hand to grab it from him. However, he saw the sapphire beads on Lan Feng's neck suddenly light up and blocked the figure's hand. Lan Feng saw an opportunity and quickly withdrew, but the figure reluctantly blocked Lan Feng's way again.
Lan Feng thought that the sapphire Buddha bead could block him, so he took it off his neck and held it in his hand. He carried the Tripitaka notes behind his back and wanted to get out of the Sutra Pavilion quickly.
But the Buddhist beads could only block the figure but could not hurt him. Lan Feng shuttled between the scriptures, trying to get rid of the figure. But this figure kept attacking from both sides, trapping Lan Feng in the six-story sutra pavilion.
"Donor, this record was left behind by Master Tripitaka back then. Why did you steal it?" Lan Feng said.
The figure remained silent and snatched the records again and again, but was blocked by Lan Feng again and again. After a while, the figure seemed to be angry and pushed Lan Feng to the corner regardless of the sapphire Buddha beads.
Lanfeng held the Buddhist beads in one hand to resist, but he felt his hand behind his back loosen up, and the figure in front of him disappeared without a trace. He hurriedly turned around, only to realize that the figure had used a clone technique to snatch Tripitaka's transcript from behind, and was now running towards the top floor with the transcript in his arms.
"Donor! Return the record to the monk quickly!" Lan Feng shouted as he took the lamp and chased upstairs.
Lan Feng walked towards the top floor step by step, looking at the corridor covered with spider webs and starting to feel frightened. He thought in his mind that the monster that Master Sanzang sealed back then should be that figure, but the figure had no intention of harming him both times. If it was really sealed here, the goblin probably wouldn't be able to make a big splash.
Thinking of this, Lan Feng plucked up the courage and strode upstairs.
Lan Feng stood still, patted the dust on his body, and moved forward little by little in the darkness with the lamp. However, he originally thought that the seventh-floor door would be locked or sealed, but he only saw the dilapidated scripture pavilion door and collapsed scriptures scattered on the ground.
"It's been so many years since anyone came here..." He murmured, pushing aside the spider webs that blocked his view.
"Snapped!"
A voice sounded, and Lan Feng leaned over in panic and almost fell to the ground. He stabilized his posture, and a drop of cold sweat ran down his face.
"Zhizhi..."
He took the lamp and looked for the sound. It turned out that a mouse had overturned the scripture.
Lan Feng thought, it turned out to be a mouse. He was just about to breathe a sigh of relief when he saw a fluffy hand coming out of the darkness and slapping the mouse to death on the ground!
Lan Feng was so frightened that the oil lamp in his hand fell to the ground and went out. It suddenly became pitch black here, and he could only look ahead quietly with the faint light coming from the window on the snowy night.
I saw the outline of a wolf head slowly emerging. The wolf head stretched out his hand and threw the mouse that had just been beaten to death into its mouth. The crunching sound of chewing made Lanfeng's ears extremely uncomfortable...
Lan Feng didn't dare to move now. He was afraid that if he moved, the wolf-headed monster would pounce on him.
However, the sapphire Buddha bead on Lan Feng's neck shimmered at this moment. Lan Feng secretly thought it was not good and just wanted to escape, but saw the wolf-headed monster approaching him with a glare!
Immediately afterwards, the wolf-headed monster knocked Lan Feng to the ground with one claw. It grabbed the prayer beads and looked at Lanfeng with a whimper in its mouth. Lanfeng struggled with pain, thinking that the wolf-headed monster was going to eat him.
Unexpectedly, the wolf-headed monster sniffed around his chest, and after a while, he let go of Lan Feng, who was sitting on the scripture beside him...
Lanfeng became bolder when he saw the monster let go of him. He fumbled to pick up the oil lamp on the ground, relit it and placed it next to the wolf-headed monster. Only then did he see clearly the true appearance of the monster.
This monster had the head of a wolf and a human body, with a yellow mane around its neck, and was as skinny as wood. He was wearing a worn-out military armor and looked gloomy. One hand was still dripping with the blood of the rat he had just killed...
It said nothing, picked up the Tripitaka notes and walked into the darkness.
"Donor, please stay..." Lan Feng shouted at the wolf-headed monster. The wolf-headed monster ignored him, and just put Tripitaka's transcript on the desk beside him and continued to read it.
Lan Feng was confused and cautiously stepped forward...
"Ahem, donor..."
The wolf-headed monster didn't wait for Lan Feng to speak and said, "Aren't you bothered? Why are you always following me?"
Seeing that the wolf-headed monster finally spoke to him, Lan Feng cleared his throat and said, "Little monk, disciple of Jinshan Temple, Lan Feng. May I ask who the donor is..."
The wolf-headed monster was upset by what Lan Feng said. He grabbed Lan Feng's collar and said, "I don't want to know who you are!"
At this time, the flower sachet in Lan Feng's arms suddenly flew out, blowing the wind and snow outside the window. Several plum blossoms were blown in and flew into the hand of the wolf-headed monster together with the sachet.
When the wolf-headed monster saw the flower sachet in his hand, he trembled all over and his eyes turned red. A surge of sadness surged into his heart, and he knelt down foolishly...
"Hua Sha..."
