Journey to the West is never the end. A piece of paper tells the story of Journey to the West, in which the five people who sought Buddhist scriptures were willing to save all sentient beings from suffering.
But five hundred years later, several wars changed the dynasty, and this world is still this world. Going west was just a lie from the gods. The gods finally made those creatures who disobeyed their jurisdiction kneel down, and finally made the three realms become what they wanted.
But among the millions of years, these five hundred...years are just a blink of an eye. The banner of resistance to destiny will eventually be carried up again, once again by those souls who refuse to admit defeat. Even gods cannot control them.
