In the autumn of New York, a cool autumn wind blows in the city, picking up the cigarettes exhaled by pedestrians on the road, then rising into the sky and then dissipating. The pedestrians straighten their windbreakers and wrap themselves tightly.
A week has passed since the last Avengers mission.
As expected by Peter, after Nick Fury personally led SHIELD personnel to take away the mysterious hostage he rescued, he did not reveal any more information about this person.
No matter whether Steve or Stark asked, they didn't get the exact result.
On the contrary, another thing was confirmed. Nick Fury confirmed that the top management had the idea of replacing the Avengers.
Peter guessed that was his idea as well.
Fortunately, things aren't bad enough yet, and it's clear that the current Avengers are still needed until they can find new ones.
Peter doesn't think it matters. Whether he is an Avenger or not does not affect him from being a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Life must go on.
Today he returned to Parker Industries and started his busy work as usual.
The new intern Dr. Otto has obviously become proficient in his work. Peter found that he and Professor Connors did not get along too well. Now even if the door is closed, quarrels can be heard outside.
Otto took the new information and said: "Connors, is your brain still a lizard brain? You can't understand such a simple truth."
Connors said calmly: "I don't think interns are qualified to speak. When you first came here, you didn't even know how to operate a coffee machine."
"That's impossible, I just forgot to press the button."
Peter lamented that Dr. Otto and Professor Connors were really energetic.
Suddenly, he noticed that the sunlight coming in from the window was blocked by something. When he looked back, he realized that it was a humanoid armor floating outside the window.
The visor of the armor opened, revealing the smiling face of Tony Stark. He came to Peter with two bottles of wine in high spirits.
Peter opened the window to let him in, and asked him: "Why don't you drive over here? Wouldn't it be too arrogant to fly here in a suit?"
Stark said: "Believe me, driving will attract more attention than a suit. If you fly over, at least there won't be too many people walking on the street looking up."
"Don't you have a low-key car?" Peter realized that Tony Stark's most low-key car was also a luxury car: "Forget it, just pretend I didn't say anything."
Stark sat in the same position as last time, then took out a wine glass from somewhere and poured himself a glass.
Peter took the wine glass he handed over: "What did you tell Pepper you were doing here?"
Stark said proudly: "She immediately asked me to come over for business negotiations without hesitation at all. I feel that you have a good image in Pepper's eyes, and she feels more at ease with you."
This is of course true. Although Peter Parker was a bit carefree when he was young and left a lot of emotional debt, he is still much better than Stark's other friends.
At least Peter won't take Stark to the casino, nor will he introduce Stark to actresses in the entertainment industry. Colonel Rhodes has done both of the above.
So when Pepper heard that Stark was coming to see Peter Parker, she felt relieved to let him come.
Peter said: "You should know that if you really want to leave, Miss Pepper can't stop you at all."
Stark spread his hands and said, "But the price for that is that Pepper would kick me out of bed at night. For the sake of family harmony, I chose to tell a white lie."
This may be the helplessness after getting married, but Stark actually enjoys it.
At least now he no longer has to think about whether he will sleep with a woman he shouldn't sleep with.
Anyway, now Stark can easily come to Parker Industries for business negotiations.
It was nominally a business negotiation, but in fact Stark came here to hide.
Stark said: "Did I tell you about Nick Fury? That day I stood in front of him, pointed at his nose and said, 'Fire me if you can. Even if I'm not an Avenger, I'm still Steel. Xia.’ He was so choked by me that he couldn’t even speak.”
His description was very realistic, and Peter felt that there might be some exaggeration, but it was indeed something that Stark might have done.
Peter said: "I think so too. Even if I'm not an Avenger, I'm still Spider-Man."
Stark seemed to have met a close friend: "Yes, everyone thinks so. At least we can be regarded as veteran members. Those senior leaders can change us whenever they want. Do they think we are Magic Mike dancers?"
"Of course not, they are just a group of politicians, politicians who don't understand heroes. Maybe there are people from Hydra mixed in, and people from Hydra who don't even know they are Hydra are mixed in," Peter said.
"Yes, I would say they are all shameless guys. One moment they want my armor, the next they want the super soldier serum, and they want me to be their weapons consultant for free. It's such a beautiful idea. "Stark was already a little drunk after two glasses of wine.
Peter suddenly felt that it might not be a good idea to let Stark start drinking in the afternoon. No wonder Pepper always kept control of him and strictly restricted him from staying away from the liquor cabinet.
Stark continued: "Peter Parker, we should create our own hero group and escape from SHIELD's control."
Peter thought he was starting to talk nonsense, so he said, "Stark, maybe you've drank enough today and Ms. Pepper will find you out."
Stark waved his hand: "No, this is a normal business negotiation. I now feel that Stark Enterprises and Parker Industries must reach a cooperation. After all, we are both geniuses."
It was rare to hear Stark admit that someone else was a genius, even while drunk. Peter felt that the drunken Stark was more interesting than the usual Stark.
"How to cooperate?"
"To become bigger and stronger, the first step is to move your office here to the top floor of Stark Tower, so that we can communicate and conduct business negotiations anytime and anywhere."
Crazy, Stark has gone crazy.
"Then we bought the White House and held a celebratory party in it."
Doctor, call the doctor quickly.
"In the end, we counted the money together. There was endless money."
Peter dialed Strange's number: "Doctor Strange? Could you please come over and open a portal to Parker Industries?"
Strange arrived shortly after and cast a sobering spell on Stark.
Even if he owed Peter a favor, Strange still had to say: "Sorry, Peter. If it's not something more important next time, please don't call me over. The Supreme Mage is very busy."
"Then what should I do with this drunkard Stark?"
Strange said coldly: "Throw him on the street and see if any kind-hearted person can help him to the corner."
Then he left through the portal without even the slightest thought of having a drink.
After sobering up, Stark said: "Let's have another drink. I wasn't drunk just now."
