Although he was a little disgusted with Baoyu's Zen practice, Jia Zheng did not immediately reprimand him.
When he heard Feng Yibo's praise, he couldn't help but feel a little happy.
Of course, Jia Zheng didn't miss anything on his face.
He quickly waved his hand and said disapprovingly:
"Don't praise Yibo. He is ignorant and has no skills at such a young age. What can he realize?"
At this time, one of Jia Zheng's Qing guests was named Bu Guxiu.
I just happened to have finished reading Baoyu's "Parasite Grass".
Hearing Jia Zheng's humble words, he smiled and cupped his hands and said:
"I don't need to be too modest, my brothers Yu Chan and Yu Qu are already in high demand."
Being able to become Jia Zheng's purge requires some ability.
What Bu Guxiu is best at is music.
He and Shan Pinren had accompanied Jia Qiang when she went to Gusu to buy a theater troupe.
He doesn't know much about Zen, but he is a professional in Qu.
So what he said is for everyone who knows him.
It is equivalent to giving Baoyu an expert-level certification.
Baoyu was praised one after another, and Jia Zheng was secretly pleased.
However, before Jia Zheng could respond, Bu Guxiu looked at Feng Yibo again.
"Dr. Feng said that Brother Shi is like a god, but I think Brother Shi is Huineng."
Bu Guxiu did not continue to talk about music, but put forward different opinions from Zen.
This confused everyone present.
Little did he know that this was the power of Bu Guxiu.
If he argued with Feng Yibo from the ground up, it would be of no use to him no matter whether he won or lost.
On the contrary, speaking from the perspective of Zen, there is no winning or losing.
The monk Shenxiu mentioned by Feng Yibo was an eminent monk in the Tang Dynasty.
He is also the founder of Beizong Zen.
And the Huineng Bu Guxiu mentioned was from the same era as Shenxiu.
Founder of Nan Zong Zen.
Both were eminent monks from the Tang Dynasty, but their inheritances were exactly opposite.
The debate between the two has never stopped since ancient times.
Just like Bu Gu practices music and Zen.
For Feng Yibo, Zen is not what he is good at.
Therefore, he is not angry when someone refutes him, and just treats it as a casual conversation.
Feng Yibo also smiled and retorted after hearing this:
"No, no, everyone says that the Sixth Patriarch Hui was enlightened, but in my opinion, it's just a show of cleverness."
This enlightenment refers to epiphany, which is exactly the inheritance of Hui Neng.
Correspondingly, the inheritance of Monk Shenxiu is gradual.
Afraid that others would not understand the meaning of "showing cleverness", Feng Yibo explained thoughtfully:
"The six groups of Huineng are just using some clever tricks based on Master Shenxiu."
This actually reveals to some extent that he only knows the superficial knowledge of Buddhism.
But when it came to this, he expressed his true point of view and said:
"I never believe that there is any sudden enlightenment in this world. Only gradual enlightenment is the true meaning, just like reading and literacy. Without ten years of hard work, how can I get a title on the gold medal list?"
Whether it is Shenxiu or Huineng.
Feng Yibo really didn’t know much about Buddhism.
But when it comes to reading, it's hard to argue with his words.
After all, he has achieved today's results through his own efforts.
Bu Guxiu knew that he was a top talent, so naturally he would not discuss how to study with Feng Yibo.
So I could only smile and ask: "There have been prodigies since ancient times, why can't they have an epiphany?"
Feng Yibo also laughed when he heard this and said unhurriedly:
"Since ancient times, there has been Zhongyong. Could it be that Sir is using this analogy?"
Fang Zhongyong's allusion is well known to everyone, so Bu Guxiu naturally dare not say that Baoyu will "disappear from everyone" in the future.
For fear of being misunderstood, he immediately handed over to Jia Zheng and said:
"Of course not. Brother Shi is a rare talent in the world. How can Zhong Yong compare with him?"
Feng Yibo would not object to this, so he nodded in agreement:
"Indeed, Brother Baoyu is truly a talented person."
But at this point, the topic changed again and he said:
"But good talents and beautiful jade are also polished from raw jade, so I say that Brother Baoyu has a trace of Master Shenxiu's true meaning."
Bu Guxiu didn't have to decide the winner or loser, he just gave up when the situation was good.
Hearing this, he immediately looked astonished and said:
"So what you said is that my brother has become enlightened, but there is still room for progress and he has not yet reached the peak?"
After finishing speaking, without waiting for Feng Yibo's response, he nodded to himself and said:
"I see, it's Feng Tanhua who is so clever after all."
The title changed from Feng Langzhong to Feng Tanhua. This was to find a way out for himself.
I am also reminding everyone: Look, compared with Tanhua, there is nothing wrong with me being inferior, right?
"How dare you talk about being clever!"
Feng Yibo waved his hand, said modestly, and then said:
"It's Brother Bao who is young but has an attitude of his own, so he just got me to say a few words!"
Bu Guxiu, who was already convinced, immediately agreed:
"Exactly. My brother's talent cannot be concealed, so I couldn't help but say a few more words."
These two people were going back and forth, and the talk was overwhelming.
In fact, they are not good at Buddhism.
In the final analysis, the two of them were just touting Baoyu.
Bu Guxiu asked himself that it would not be shameful to lose to a top talent.
Feng Yibo just made a few compliments casually and didn't take it seriously at all.
If Bu Guxiu hadn't retorted, he wouldn't have said so much.
After all, it was just to give Jia Zheng face and praise Baoyu.
Everyone knows the principle of "everyone carries the sedan chair".
When Jia Zheng heard this, he was complacent and happy.
He waved to the two of them and said humbly:
"Both of you have received awards. It's just some wild Zen that children randomly participated in. How can it have any true meaning? It doesn't have any good talent."
Baoyu felt confused after listening to the conversation between the two.
But I think what they said seems to be very powerful.
When he saw the two of them finished speaking, he asked in a low voice:
"I don't know where you two are talking about, where are the masters of Shenxiu and Huineng? Can I go and pay homage to them?"
Although his ears and eyes were saturated, he had heard some Buddhist classics.
But the names of these two people are somewhat unfamiliar.
I just thought that these two people were from some temple.
That's why I asked this question, because I really want to know something.
Everyone was stunned when they heard this, but Feng Yibo was the first to react and said quickly:
"Brother Baoyu's pure jade and pure gold have such a high degree of heat without being polished!"
He praised Baoyu first to cover up his lack of knowledge.
Then he patiently explained: "The two masters Shenxiu and Huineng were both disciples of Hongren, the fifth ancestor of Zen Buddhism, and eminent monks in the Tang Dynasty."
As soon as these words came out, Baoyu immediately blushed, knowing that he had made a joke!
"Among them, Master Shenxiu is the chief disciple, while Huineng is just the fire-headed monk in the temple."
Feng Yibo was originally indifferent to this, but in order to pick up girls...
No, it should be said that I read some relevant classics for the sake of future family happiness.
The purpose is not to cause jokes like Baoyu.
Because as Aunt Lin's health improves, Miaoyu's entry has been put on the agenda.
If nothing unexpected happens, it should be available before the end of the year.
As a top student, even when it comes to picking up girls, he never goes into an unprepared battle.
So in order to get to know Miaoyu better, I have a common topic with her.
Feng Yibo took some time to read some allusions about Buddhism.
Unexpectedly, these allusions have not been used on Miaoyu yet, but they are used here first.
Fortunately, such a simple thing is of no use in front of Miaoyu.
It's just right to tell Baoyu.
"Zen enlightenment does not rely on external pursuits and abandons literal meanings. Therefore, inheritors often only leave one or two sentences to understand."
"Therefore, before the death of the Fifth Patriarch, he wanted to seek a Dharma heir, so he ordered all the monks to write a verse."
At this point, we come to the most exciting scene of the whole allusion.
Feng Yibo cleared his throat before continuing:
"The verse that the Venerable God Hsiu composed at that time was: 'The body is like a bodhi tree, and the mind is like a mirror stand. Always brush it diligently to prevent any dust.'"
"These words are the gradual realization of the true meaning. After hearing this, the Fifth Patriarch Hongren will pass on his mantle."
Baoyu listened with rapt attention and compared this Buddha's verse with his own.
I realized that this wonderful monk was worthy of being an eminent monk. Indeed, the Dharma was profound and incomparable to him.
"Unexpectedly, Huineng was in the kitchen with Chunmi. He happened to listen and shook his head and commented: 'It's beautiful when it's beautiful, but it's unfinished when it's over.'"
Hearing this, Baoyu suddenly frowned and showed doubts.
This verse of Shenxiu is already so profound, so why not finish it?
At this time, I heard Feng Yibo continue to preach:
"After saying that, Huineng also recited a verse, saying: 'Bodhi is not a tree, nor is a mirror a stand. There is nothing in the first place, so how can it be stained with dust?'"
"After the Fifth Patriarch heard this, he passed the mantle to him without saying a word. From then on, Zen Buddhism was divided into southern and northern branches."
In this stanza of the Buddha, Baoyu is just like being hit with a slap in the head, and is suddenly in a state of insanity.
It turns out that there is such consciousness in the world!
It’s just that I haven’t understood it yet or heard it!
"Although Buddhism is not superior or superior, there are still two ways."
"One step by step, one will become a Buddha immediately."
Speaking of this, Feng Yibo came out with another wave of output of his own values, saying:
"I personally believe that step-by-step is the right path. Becoming a Buddha immediately is too utilitarian. Many people seek temporary convenience and are afraid that they will go astray."
What he was talking about was obviously not just Buddhism. Unfortunately, Baoyu was still immersed in Huineng's Buddhist verses and could not come back to his senses for a long time.
When everyone else present heard Feng Yibo's words, they all thought of the suffering of scholars who had lived in poverty for ten years.
Many people felt the same and nodded in agreement.
Seeing that Baoyu seemed to be deep in thought, Feng Yibo smiled and reminded:
"Since Brother Baoyu has become enlightened, we should proceed step by step. Don't think that enlightenment is just a matter of moment."
Bu Guxiu also noticed that Baoyu was crazy at this time, so he frowned and reminded:
"Actually, Shixiong's enlightenment is more like a sudden enlightenment. However, Shixiong is the only son of an old man after all, and he is still young. It is better not to understand too deeply."
Baoyu didn't react yet, but Feng Yibo looked stunned when he heard this.
He saluted Bu Guxiu and said:
"What this dear friend said is absolutely true. I was just overjoyed when I saw it. What I said was wrong."
When Bu Guxiu saw that Feng Yibo had no airs about him, he actually admitted his mistake to him. He didn't dare to say anything and even avoided him.
It's just that these words seemed to be said to Bu Guxiu, but in fact they were also meant to Jia Zheng.
Speaking of this, Feng Yibo also advised Baoyu:
"Brother Baoyu should still take the right path and read more saints' classics instead of studying Buddhism and Zen."
What he said touched Jia Zheng's heart deeply. Hearing this, he smiled and nodded.
Baoyu, who was beside him, had also woken up. When he heard the words "Saint's Classic", he only laughed twice without responding.
After the show ended, Baoyu went to Mrs. Wang and picked up some Buddhist classics.
In Mrs. Shi's room, she started to watch openly.
Mrs. Shi and Mrs. Wang just thought he was just browsing casually.
He didn't even care, let alone stop him.
After a few days of Old Mrs. Shi's birthday, Baoyu seemed to have become an eminent monk.
When talking to the sisters, as soon as he was ignored, he suddenly said:
"There is only one mind, and there is no other method. The mind and body are also empty, and all conditions are silent."
These words sounded very Zen, and all the sisters were baffled.
Only Miaoyu reacted first and frowned:
"This Second Master Bao is talking about the Huangbo Dharma. Could it be that after joining the Neng Sect, he wants to become a monk and practice Zen?"
Neng Zong refers to Hui Neng's Northern Zong. Huang Bo is his descendant and an eminent monk in the Tang Dynasty.
The sisters didn't know what Neng Zong was, but their son, a monk, understood it and were all shocked.
When Baochai and Daiyu saw this, they looked at each other and felt that the problem was serious. They quickly brought people to report it to Mrs. Wang and Mrs. Shi.
Rice Ball Exploration
For a moment, Mrs. Wang panicked.
The Buddhist scriptures were quickly collected and Baoyu was not allowed to read them any more.
Even the meditation hall in the mansion was temporarily closed, and the Buddha statues he worshiped were also locked up.
I'm afraid that if Baoyu sees it, the second wife of Rong Mansion will be divorced!
It's just that they can only be isolated physically, but they cannot be eliminated mentally.
Not even two days had passed since Baoyu's incident, something happened to Wang Xifeng again.
Not long after Mrs. Shi's birthday, Jia Lian said that she was going to make a peace ceremony for Jia Mu and ask for an heir.
Therefore, he did not take anyone else, but only Wang Xifeng to Qingxu Temple.
But they agreed to have a peaceful marriage ceremony for three days, but only two days later, Jia Lian came back crying.
But Wang Xifeng and Heping'er's master and servant were carried back.
Not even a complete corpse was found.
After asking, I found out that it was Xifeng who had caused the curse.
Ping'er, who was still implicated, followed.
The other servants who followed also agreed.
It was like a dry land thunder, which smashed both the master and the servant to pieces on the spot.
Now that the Rong Mansion has no one in charge, it has to be welcomed and sent away for funeral arrangements.
Li Wan, who was supposed to be ordered, said he had no such talent.
Mrs. Wang discussed with Jia Zheng and borrowed Youshi to help.
Only then did someone come in to handle Wang Xifeng's funeral.
Jia Lian was in charge in front of him, and he entrusted several second-class officials in the family with external affairs.
Jia Zhen also took the lead, leading the princes such as Jia Mi, Jia Juan, Jia Heng, Jia Ying and others.
Later, I continued to be busy with the wedding villa.
Baoyu didn't know what was going on and just cried behind him, chanting Buddha's name for Xifeng.
Jia Rong, Jia Qiang, Jia Chang, Jia Ling and other people with cursive characters each have their own division of labor, and they all work with deacons.
With everyone's help, this matter was finally done successfully.
It didn't disgrace the Jia family.
Just after waiting for this incident to pass, it didn't take long for the entire Rong Mansion to be in chaos.
Without Wang Xifeng's intimidation, the people below had no serious clues and began to make peace.
Or they might take the opportunity to form a party with the temporary clerk, Ning Weifu.
Either they make money by cheating without restraint, or they make reports without evidence, or they make recommendations without reasons.
All kinds of bad deeds are happening, and it is difficult to describe them.
Mrs. Wang personally stepped in and took care of things for a few days before the situation was stabilized.
Unfortunately, Li Wan could not take charge, so he appointed Tanchun, Baochai and others to assist him.
In any case, the housekeeper's rights must be with the second bedroom.
No matter how bad Li Wan is in charge, he is still the eldest daughter-in-law of the second wife.
Although Tanchun, the assistant manager, is a concubine, she is also the concubine of the second wife.
Even the assistant Baochai is Mrs. Wang's niece.
Mrs.
The imperial concubine is coming back soon to have a wedding.
