It is understandable that they want some benefits. Even in Western Heaven, this is something Tathagata Buddha acquiesces to.
If they are unwilling to give it, they can go to Tathagata Buddha to complain, and Tathagata Buddha will not punish the two of them.
At most, they just asked them to hand over the scripture, but they didn't expect that Tang San was so angry that he wouldn't take it if he said he didn't want it, and wanted to leave directly. This would be a problem.
If he really didn't want to learn the true scriptures and left in a fit of anger, wouldn't the matter of learning the true scriptures fail at the last step?
This is a major event in Buddhism. If it fails because of this, Tathagata will definitely be blamed.
Originally, these two monks also thought that since Tang San was so determined to seek scriptures, it would not be difficult to get some benefits.
But they didn’t expect that the Buddhist scriptures they value so much would just say they don’t want it, so how can this be done?
Ananda Kassapa was so frightened that he quickly stepped forward to admit his mistakes and asked them to come back to learn the scriptures.
The reason why they want to get some benefits from Tang San's burial is because they think that Tang San's burial has traveled thousands of miles to the West to worship Buddha and learn Buddhist scriptures. This is the last step, so they will not give up. It is impossible to be reluctant to give up the benefits.
But he never expected that Tang San was so angry that he would even refuse to take the scripture in order not to give him any benefits.
So Ananda and Kasyapa could only compromise, but they were still very unhappy.

"Tang San was buried. All the scriptures you want are here. Take the scriptures and go back to the Tang Dynasty. Of course, you must look carefully after you go back. If you find any problems, come back to the West and we will solve them for you."
Tang Sanzian smiled and said, "So, your attitude is pretty good, right?"
Ananda and Kasyapa both laughed and thought:
manner? If I didn't want to make things difficult for you, I wouldn't have given you a good attitude. Just hold this wordless scripture and go back to the Tang Dynasty to see if it disgusts you.
They were thinking so proudly in their hearts, but Tang San did not pick up the scriptures on the ground.
Including killing the monk and preparing to sort out the scriptures and take them away, he was also stopped by Tang San's funeral.
Ananda and Kasyapa both looked at Tang San's funeral with some confusion.
Several disciples also looked at Tang San's burial, and then heard Tang San's burial say:
"I would also like you two to put away these false scriptures and give us the true gold book."
As soon as these words came out, Ananda and Kasyapa both looked at Tang Sanzong in shock, and then heard Ananda say:
"Tang Sanzong, are you kidding me? Are there fake Buddhist scriptures in the West?"
Tang Sanzong smiled and said:
"You don't understand, do you? Then let me put it another way. You take back these scriptures without words and bring us the scriptures with words."

"Misunderstanding. I didn't understand the classification of scriptures clearly before. I thought these were scriptures with words, but I didn't realize that these were scriptures without scriptures written on them.
It's really a misunderstanding, I'm sorry. We will get you scriptures with words right now, and we will make sure there will be no mistakes this time. "
Tang Sanzian nodded with satisfaction and said:
"Then hurry up?"
Ananda smiled and nodded, turned around with a gloomy face, found the real sutra with words, picked up a volume, and immediately handed it to Tang Sanzhan and said:
"Look at this. Is this a scripture with Chinese characters?"
Tang Sanzian stretched out his hand to pick it up expressionlessly, but Ananda deliberately let go of his hand, dropped the book on the ground, and said with a smile on his face:
"Oh? Sorry, I'm not sure."
