On August 16, the thirteenth year of Wanli, the emperor issued a decree to appoint the crown prince. The time given by Qin Tian Jian was particularly fast this time: three days later, on August 19.
On that day, the gate of the Huangji Hall was opened wide, and the imperial officials set up the emperor's throne and the incense table in the middle of the hall. A pavilion was set up on the west side of the place of worship on the red wall outside the hall.
The emperor wears his crown. Gun clothes are Xuanyi and He Shang: the six chapters of the clothes are woven with sun, moon, stars, chen, mountains, dragons, and Chinese insects (flower and bird patterns); the six chapters of the clothes are woven with Zongyi (tiger and ape patterns), algae , fire, pink rice (pollen, rice pattern), 黼 (axe-shaped pattern), 黼 (note: black and green pattern); the middle single is made of plain yarn, with red Luo covering the knees, and weaving three chapters of fire, dragon and mountain. ; Wearing red socks and a red waistcoat.
Leather belt with jade: The two sides of the large belt are edged, with vermilion brocade on the top and green brocade on the bottom. The large ribbon is made of yellow, white, red, black (according to: black), pear (according to: light cyan) and green. Small ribbon with three colors, same as the big ribbon; with jade hook, jade pendant, gold hook and jade ring.
Crown of the Emperor: The round hat is covered with a bamboo board, the front is rounded and the back is framed with soap gauze. There are 12 colorful silk ropes on the front and back of the bamboo board, each threaded with 12 colorful jade beads, one inch apart. Red silk ropes are hung on the left and right sides of the 疖 board as tassels, and yellow jade is hung on the tassels, hanging next to the ears. This is Yun Er.
The so-called "终穩 plugs the ears, and the front shackles cover the light" means plugging the ears with cotton balls and using jade strings to cover the front and back. The purpose is to constantly remind the emperor to avoid only seeing what is close with his eyes and listening to the words of his close ministers. The disadvantage of "turning a deaf ear" means that the ears and eyes can reach far and wide. Although the meaning of the idiom "turn a deaf ear" is different, it also developed from Yun Er.
Gun Mian's uniform began in the Zhou Rites and went through the Han, Tang, Song, and Yuan dynasties, and continued to the Ming Dynasty for more than two thousand years. After the Manchus entered the customs, they replaced them with trumpet hats with gold medals and quills on top of the beads and Haijiangyagun uniforms with round collars and flat sleeves, and dragons and flat sleeves - the discontinuation of Chinese clothing from top to bottom.
The six-year-old Prince Luo wears the crown of Prince Gun: it is very similar to what Zhu Yijun wears: the crown is Jiuyi, Xuanyi has five chapters, Haoshang has four chapters, etc. I won’t go into details - but for a child, this set of clothes is quite Heavy.
On the east side of the pavilion, there are eight palace officials, there is a seat for the officials in the west of the palace, and there is a seat for the officials in the northeast outside the palace gate. In the east of the hall, there are officials holding imperial edicts. To the north and east and west of the palace where the crown prince pays his respects, there are two officials in charge of edicts. On the south side of the hall, there are two officials holding edicts and edicts, facing each other. The clan, nobles, civil and military officials all wore great ceremonial attires, and their places of worship were placed at Danxi. To the south of the official's place of worship were two magistrates, and to the north of the magistrates were two censors to inspect the appearance of the officials. The east and west stand facing each other, watching the officials and inspecting the instruments.
Because Prince Luo was young, Zhu Yijun was afraid that he would be too hot in his thick clothes, so he arranged the ceremony when the sun was rising. According to the calculated time, the emperor set off from the Jinshen Palace in a public carriage.
They were on guard all the way, guiding the internal officials to lead the way. The female officer of the Baojian lined up behind with twenty-four precious seals, surrounded by attendants on the left and right, cranked Luogai, and pheasant feather palace fans, and went to the Huangji Palace.
At this time, ceremonial guards have been displayed in the east and west areas of Danchi and Danchi, including the grand chariots, horses, tigers and leopards, etc. The palace orchestra in Danchinan is playing the "Zhonghe" chapter. The golden sound of Shao music vibrates, the eight notes harmoniously sound, solemn and elegant.
The emperor ascended to the throne amid music. Four solemnly dressed guides led Prince Zhu Changhao of Luo into Fengtianmen, and went to the main hall to pay homage to Lord Dan and stand in front of him.
The officer of praise stood beside Prince Luo. The salute officer shouted loudly: "Bow!" The children bowed.
The controller knelt down and asked the emperor to take over the project. Zhu Yijun said, "Yes." So the controller stood up, stood outside the door, and shouted: "We have the system." The salute officer shouted in response: "Kneel down!" Prince Luo knelt down quickly.
The Xuanzhi official announced the system: "When an emperor establishes a prince, he only pays attention to his direct eldest son. The good and the lineage are inherited, and the laws of nature and people's hearts are at stake. It belongs to the country and will last forever! Zhu Changhao, the emperor of the Yuan Dynasty, started in Youchong, and has been benevolent. Zhao was born in Yu Nei, and his virtues spread far and wide throughout the world. As the sun shines brightly, God bestows courage and wisdom. The upper level is enough to reflect the thoughts of our ancestors for thousands of years, and the lower level is enough to serve the hearts of millions of people in Li. You are now the crown prince. I hope you will always cherish the hardships of our ancestors in creating Hongji, and always think of the great importance of my dependence on this system!"
Prince Luo is eight years old and six years old. How can he understand the words? Anyway, he just follows the movements that have been practiced. First salute, then lie down and lie flat, and reply loudly: "My son, I obey the order." After saying that, he bows again under the guidance of the salute officer, and bends down to worship Zhu Yijun on Danbi's throne.
After the announcement ceremony, the praising officer announced the registration ceremony. So the ceremonial officer led Zhu Changhao into the hall through the east gate of the hall. He was led to the throne and knelt down before him.
Then the official holding the book knelt down in front of the case, held the book, and solemnly handed it to the official who read the book. After the official announced the reading, the official reading the book knelt down and read out the book. After reading it, he handed the book to Prime Minister Zhang Siwei, who kneeled down and handed it to Prince Luo. When Zhu Yijun looked down on the throne, almost all the movements were done while kneeling.
Zhu Changhao took the treasure book and expressed his acceptance of the canonization, and then handed the treasure book to the envoy who was beside him to receive the book. The treasure was also awarded to him according to the same etiquette procedures as the book, and Zhu Changhao handed it over to the envoy of the book and the treasure. At this time, Prince Luo had legally become the crown prince - the etiquette related to Zhu Yijun ended.
Then, the crown prince came out of Gui, prostrated himself, and flattened himself to the sound of the chanting officer singing the order. Holding the book and the treasure in his hand, he led him out of the hall. The emissary put the books and treasures into the box of the book treasure pavilion. The Crown Prince turned around and bowed before His Majesty Dan, solemnly bowing four times.
Afterwards, the internal envoys went to the Pavilion. The crown prince left Fengtian Gate. The book and the pavilion were carried into the Qingning Palace, that is, the East Palace, under the ceremonial guard and the officials. Because the Crown Prince is young, this is still a ceremonial nature, and the Crown Prince still has to live with the Queen in Kunning Palace.
After placing the treasures and books in Qingning Palace, the crown prince's etiquette was mostly completed. He immediately took the crown prince's carriage to the Central Palace to express his gratitude to the empress, and then paid homage to the ancestral temple and paid homage to his ancestors. Along the way, the people of the capital who had received the information stood in the street, vying to see the appearance of the future emperor.
Although Zhu Yijun had already asked the ministers of the Ministry of Rites to speed up the ceremonial actions, it was almost noon when the work was completed. Zhu Changhao was exhausted early due to his heavy clothing and the numerous ceremonies at the canonization ceremony. After being forced by Empress Zhuang to eat a few mouthfuls of lunch, the prince fell asleep without even having time to take off his clothes.
Zhu Yijun finished his business in Yangxin Palace and returned to Kunning Palace for dinner at noon. He saw his eldest son sleeping soundly on the couch. He smiled bitterly at Queen Zhuang and said: "Although China has great etiquette and beautiful uniforms, it is too tiring."
The flush of excitement on Queen Zhuang's face had not completely dissipated. She turned a deaf ear and looked at the prince and murmured: "He looks very much like your majesty. You see, he is especially similar when he is sleeping... I had a piece of meat in my belly back then." , now that I have become the crown prince...it’s really like a dream.”
