Hu Lahachi got Sonam Gyatso to give him guidance on the "maze" and had a good impression of the emperor - only then did he interrupt the decree to express his loyalty.
On that day, when Suonan Gyatso told the story of Zhu Yijun's "reincarnation" to Hu Lahaci, he told him: "The great emperor may not know his true nature, and even if he knows, he may not take it for granted. Therefore, you know this matter That’s it, don’t go around talking about it.”
This was said softly, and it didn't say what would happen if you went around talking about it.
Originally, in order for the emperor to express his gratitude, he must publicize this matter on the grassland. The living Buddha planned to say this to every Mongolian chieftain who came to see him, and he did not stop Hu Lahachi from saying it in private - But he never imagined that Hulahachi, a fool, would get drunk on the occasion of the emperor's banquet for the chiefs, jump on the table and announce it in a very high-profile way. Not only did he not say anything, but he was also directly involved. .
In fact, political economics also follows scientific laws - entropy always increases. Hu La Ha Chi drinking too much is a typical "entropy increase".
But this happened for a reason. From a psychological point of view, Hu Lahachi was eager to confirm whether Zhu Yijun recognized his reincarnation identity, or in other words, he had to confirm whether the emperor was willing to use the identity fabricated for him by the Living Buddha. This is closely related to whether he can rule Khalkha firmly.
There are now seven large tribes in Khalkha, the most easterly of which is the neighbor of Tumen Khan. In the ninth year of Wanli, the Ming court killed Tumen Khan in a flash, and his eldest son Buyan was able to escape by handing over the Meng Yuan Jade Seal, which frightened Hu Lahachi.
As soon as the emperor's order to meet the chiefs at Saihanba arrived, Hulahachi couldn't resist at all, and immediately set off for Saihanba. It would be a joke if it came true: he would arrive two days earlier than the emperor. months.
Of course, being so weak would be ridiculed by his subordinate chiefs. Moreover, the territory of Khalkha was very vast and had not been controlled by the king for a long time. Some people suggested that Hu Lahachi should not pay attention to the imperial court. Hu Lahachi was so frightened by these people's Hu Chaochao's attitude that he decided to go all the way to Qinghai to ask Suonan Gyatso for advice.
After he returned to Khalkha from Kumbum Monastery, he conveyed Sonam Gyatso's statement that under the constraints of the Golden Bloodline Law, none of his tribal chiefs could live to speak out. Hulahachi didn't rest for two days, and immediately set off for Saihanba. Because he was in a more excited mood, he ran faster, and actually arrived second after Nenhorqin.
When the day came for the announcement of the decree, he felt more and more that Sonam Gyatso's judgment was correct: based on the behavior of the Han emperors a hundred years ago, with such military might, he would not have provided such generous policy treatment to the Mongols. , not only to kill them, but also to let them have residual health-this is the normal way for Han and Mongolia to open up the offensive and defensive confrontation.
Great rewards for kings and nobles, open mutual trade, no restrictions on exchanges, and respect for the Yellow Sect. After these four decrees came out, in addition to not giving "their own flesh and blood" such super-national treatment, even under the rule of Xue Chan Khan, the court could not give more.
In Hu Lahachi's heart, Zhu Yijun is the "reincarnation of Kublai Khan" for sure, but the question is whether the emperor admits it? If you don't admit your account, Khalkha will still be unstable, and the difficulty of management will be doubled. If you anger the emperor and "raise the Sixth Division to destroy the desert," then everything will be over.
Therefore, he interrupted the announcement and tested it first to see what the emperor's attitude was towards him. As expected, the "Hanpi Yuangu" emperor comforted him with gentle words after Zhang Siwei scolded him, which made his heart warm.
Then it’s time to drink. This wine is delicious and has great stamina. Hu Lahachi, who was watching Zhu Yijun become more and more friendly, got a little drunk after drinking too much, and then staged the scene of breaking the news.
After the news broke, the emperor didn't speak, and there was silence in the golden tent. This guy was so full of wine that he broke into a cold sweat. Only then did I realize that what I was doing was similar to forcing the emperor into a palace - if Zhu Yijun refused to admit his mistake, the political effect of the Meng chieftain would be reduced by half; if he did, what would the Han officials think? Can the emperor pay such a high political price?
He regretfully wanted to slap himself in the mouth without mentioning it, but Zhu Yijun was indeed restrained by him. Hu Lahachi's words were classified as being circulated in the gossip, so he would take advantage of them without paying any price, but when they were publicized on such an important occasion, Sonam Gyatso's hard work was in vain.
This guy is a pig teammate! Zhu Yijun thought helplessly. But there cannot be silence for a long time in the golden tent, and no one can make this political decision on their behalf. Therefore, he quickly sorted out his thoughts on handling ethnic issues and organized his language from scratch.
After a moment of silence, Zhu Yijun coughed lightly and said with a smile: "Hu La Ha Chi, how can you be so graceful in jumping on the table? You can come down first, and everyone should return to their seats."
All the Mongolian chiefs and Han officials held their breath and quickly returned to their seats, waiting for Zhu Yijun to speak. Zhu Yijun picked up the tea cup, took a sip and said with a smile: "I am influenced by the Empress Dowager Cisheng, and I love Buddhism. But the Buddha's teachings are contained in the classics, which can be used to guide good people, awaken people's confusion, and protect the country and the people. For being helpless.”
Unlike when he spoke in Mongolian just now, Zhu Yijun spoke in Chinese at this time. Because after Hu Lahaci revealed Suonan Gyatso's plan, Zhu Yijun had gained a very high status in the hearts of the Mongolian people. His speech now was mainly to solve the cognitive problems of the Han people.
"However, I love Buddhism and love that its own truth exists. Is the existence of truth only in the Buddhist scriptures? No. Red flowers, white lotus roots and green lotus leaves, all dharma can be attributed to one truth. In today's world, the theory of studying things is very popular. . I prefer his theory of seeking the truth through empirical evidence."
As the lord of the world, every word and deed is the law of the world. Ten years ago, Zhu Yijun had no perceptual understanding of this, but eleven years after he ascended the throne, he has a profound understanding of this aspect.
At this time, if he says, "Believe in Buddhism," people all over the world will build Brahma temples, and all the cities and countryside will become bhikkhu monasteries. In the same way, if he says that he believes in Taoism, then Longhu Quanzhen will become a distinguished guest. At this time, because the Mongolian chieftain was present, his statement that he "loves Buddhism quite a lot" was the limit of his position as an emperor. The same goes for pointing out his support for Gewu in his speech.
After first talking about his position on Buddhism and his own beliefs, Zhu Yijun had to face the question raised by Sonam Gyatso: whether he was the reincarnation of Kublai Khan.
Zhu Yijun's thoughts were very clear, and he continued: "The Empress Dowager Cisheng and I have a close relationship with Mount Wutai. Previously, before the birth of the emperor's eldest daughter, Prince Luo, etc., they all performed rituals in Mount Wutai to protect the emperor's heirs." The key points at this time. Leaving Mount Wutai to pave the way for the final conclusion.
"In the past, Pasipa explained the mountain through sutras, and it was said that Mount Wutai was the seat of the five Buddhas in the Vajra Realm of Tantric Dharma. After his death, his clothes and crown relics were enshrined in the relic pagoda of Puen Temple. Hanshan talked to me about this before , Yandao Puen Temple has been in disrepair for a long time and has become dilapidated. I have also allocated internal funds to repair it."
"The repair of the stupa was completed on the eighth day of April in the seventh year of Wanli. Why do I remember it so clearly? Because I had a dream that day and saw a lotus platform under His Majesty Dan in the Huangji Palace. The Buddha was sitting on it, joining his hands and bowing to me. How can I accept this kind of salute? I hurriedly walked down from the throne, put my hands together and bowed before you."
After everyone in the Golden Tribe heard this, the Mongolian chieftains were all stunned. Zhang Siwei and others opened their mouths and couldn't close their mouths - Emperor, you are such a braggart! Then I thought that this emperor didn't believe anything deep down. If he believed at all, he couldn't pretend to have such a dream! Next to him, Shen Shixing's face muscles were twisted, and he pinched his thigh with his fingers.
"I asked the Buddha where he came from. The Buddha smiled and said nothing. I asked him again and again, and then he said the stanza: 'The original nature is undivided, and there are many methods of expediency. Visitors come under the worry-free tree, and the Manjushri is beneficial to the body. The seven political affairs are circumambulated. Treasure, the wheel of control. Manjushri is auspicious and wonderful, true to your true self.'"
The two interpreters under the throne were sweating profusely. Because they were not Buddhists, this verse was too difficult for them to translate. They looked at each other, their faces pale, for fear of delaying the emperor's important event. Zhu Yijun waited for a while and saw that there was no movement from the two of them, and he understood in his heart. He continued with a smile:
"Before I asked him what the verse was about, I woke up with a start. Then I summoned Han Shan and asked him to interpret the meaning in the dream."
After saying this, Zhu Yijun seemed to have remembered something, and told the Wei Dynasty: "Today I gave you a banquet with lots of wine and meat, so I didn't let Han Shan come here. You go and call him to help me recall the interpretation of the dream that day. situation."
Wei Chao's face was serious, he bowed and agreed, and went out of the golden tent to find Han Shan.
Zhu Yijun paused for a while, as if recalling Hanshan's dream interpretation that day. After pondering for a while, Fang said: "Hanshan explained to me: 'There is no difference in the original nature, and there are many methods of expediency.' This is a sentence in the Surangama Sutra. It is the words of Manjushri Bodhisattva. It talks about all dharmas from sentient to merciless. , it’s nothing more than one person and one thought, this is its true nature.”
"The guests under the Ashoka tree are the manifested bodies of the Tathagata. The eighth day of April is the Buddha Bathing Festival, and it is the day when the Tathagata was born under the Ashoka tree - this sentence corresponds to the day of my dream."
After saying this, Zhang Siwei had already guessed what Zhu Yijun wanted to do. I secretly smacked my tongue in my heart, thinking that this emperor really dared to speak. No wonder Zhang Jugong said that the emperor has a big heart. His heart is indeed big enough. How could he make up such a trick?
But the emperor is indeed very resourceful, otherwise it would be very difficult for anyone to compile this decent gatha in a short time. Your Majesty - it's not easy either.
He calmed down and listened to the emperor's continued explanation: "Manjushri is the Bodhisattva Manjushri. There is no need to explain this."
"The seven political treasures are the golden wheel treasure, the mani treasure, the jade girl's treasure, the minister's treasure, the white elephant treasure, the horse treasure, and the general's treasure. With these seven political treasures, one can tame enemies, govern the world, have abundant wealth, and be loved by everyone. Respect, this sentence refers to me."
"The next sentence is about controlling the wheel of power. Hanshan explained that the former Sakya Mahayana Dharma King Kunze Siba called Emperor Chengzu 'the Dharma King who controls the wheel of power and other seven political treasures.' When these two sentences are combined, it should be between me and Chengzu. In the same way, he already has the status of the rotating Dharma King."
Zhu Yijun said slowly while recalling. He said something, and the interpreters translated it, which made the people in the golden tent stunned. These people were either meeting Zhu Yijun for the first time, or they had few opportunities to meet the emperor. They didn't know what kind of person was sitting on the throne. At this time, I listened to the emperor's stories about dreams and dream interpretations, and everyone believed them to be true. There is no need to express his admiration in detail.
Only Zhang Siwei and Shen Shixing, who understood Zhu Yijun's character, could know the emperor's intentions. They were both defeated and speechless by his imagination. But on this occasion, the two of them could only help Zhu Yijun to lie. Even if he returned to the capital, he would not dare to tell what he had guessed. The emperor's words today will be recorded in the history of the country - they are all true.
Zhu Yijun took another sip of tea and recalled: "Manjusri's auspicious and wonderful sentence is actually repeated. The auspicious and wonderful one is Manjusri. But Hanshan explained it carefully without repeating it -" After saying this, the guards outside the golden tent came in to report. , saying it was Hanshan’s report.
Zhu Yijun secretly let out a deep breath, maintained a strong smile and said, "Let him in."
Han Shan entered the tent, his face slightly flushed. Zhu Yijun guessed that he had come running over, and he gave Wei Chao and Han Shan a thumbs up in his heart. Still smiling on his face, he said: "Hanshan, do you remember when you interpreted my dream that day? Tell me about it."
Hanshan's treasured appearance was solemn. He first folded his hands and saluted, then turned to face the crowd and said: "In the past, the emperor had a dream, and a poor monk interpreted it. It was the true meaning expressed by the Buddha in the present world. The emperor is the Buddha in the present world. He is the common ancestor of Han, Mongolia and Tibet. At the time of the Lord, he will appear in the body of Manjushri Bodhisattva, just like the ancestor of the Yuan Dynasty, our dynasty became the ancestor. When the emperor circles the seven political treasures and becomes the common master of the world, he will reveal his true nature - the Tathagata Buddha!"
