Previously, everyone on our side selected five large tombs from many tombs, but now Datou and others are only exploring the first one. Changsheng did not expect that things would go so smoothly. They only explored one ancient tomb and found what they wanted.
Yang Kai was the first to return to the ground, and Da Tou and others also jumped up. Everyone went to the tomb this time just to find a scripture. Since the scripture has been found, there is no need to continue searching.
Yang Kai held a bundle of bamboo slips in his hands. The bamboo slips were originally connected by strings, but now the strings have rotted. As long as Yang Kai lets go, the bamboo slips will fall apart. Worried that the order will be messed up, Yang Kai can only forcefully Hold on tightly and dare not let go.
Because this area is dry and rainless, the bamboo slips have not decayed but are slightly deformed despite the passage of thousands of years. The characters on the bamboo slips are clearly visible and not blurry.
It was almost the second watch, the autumn night was cold, and there was no shelter from the wind in the north of the city, so everyone returned to the city and met with Batulu, who was guarding the bonfire.
Yang Kai held the bamboo slips with both hands and picked out the immortals one by one and read them carefully. The contents on the bamboo slips were written in small seal script. There were twenty seal characters on each bamboo slip. After reading several bamboo slips in succession, each one had twenty characters. , no more and no less, Chang Sheng concluded from this that these bamboo slips were made by officials at that time, because only official bamboo slips strictly follow the twenty-character writing format, and folk bamboo slips may be slightly different.
After counting the number of words on each bamboo slip, Changsheng activated the pure Yang spiritual energy to heat one of the bamboo slips. He turned to his nose and smelled it, and could still vaguely smell the scent of pine. In ancient times, there were two types of ink, one was plant ash plus Tung oil, one is pine ash plus pine gum, the former is more common among the people, and the latter is mostly used by the government.
Changsheng had the ability to remember things with a photograph, so he picked up one piece, looked at it briefly, and then replaced it. Shi Xuanming and Yu Yi guarded the bonfire, while Datou came forward, took the bamboo slips that Changsheng had read, and arranged them in their original positions.
In just a quarter of an hour, Changsheng had read all the bamboo slips. There were more than ninety bamboo slips and less than two thousand words.
After reading the bamboo slips one by one, Changsheng closed his eyes. He had just memorized the scriptures before and did not understand them carefully.
No one dared to disturb Chang Sheng, nor did they talk to each other. Only when Chang Sheng opened his eyes did everyone feel relieved and take a long breath.
"My lord, how are you doing?" Datou asked.
"It's true." Changsheng nodded. As a Taoist priest, he was naturally familiar with the Yili of the Universe and Yin-Yang and the Five Elements. Although the words on the bamboo slips were profound and easy to understand, they were every word and every sentence was mysterious.
"We found him so easily. Nothing will go wrong, right?" Datou asked.
"No, I'm pretty sure what's written on the bamboo slips is the Yiqi Sutra." Changsheng said casually.
"Why?" Datou asked again.
"It is said that thousands of books are falsely transmitted, but one sentence is truly transmitted," Changsheng said. "Common scriptures often have mixed truth and falsehood, and are obscure and difficult to understand, but this scripture is straightforward and easy to understand. This shows that the scriptures left behind He is kind and compassionate, but he is afraid that his words are obscure and the world will not be able to understand them and will not be able to benefit from them, so he lowers himself to preach the truth."
After a brief pause, Changsheng said again, "The Yiqi Sutra is indeed a wonderful sutra. As long as you follow it and study it day and night, you can not only prolong your life, but also strengthen your soul and transcend life and death."
Although Yu Yi is a disciple of Buddhism, he heard the words of longevity and was still very curious about this Taoist scripture, "Your Majesty, what does the scripture say?"
Changsheng pondered briefly and concluded, "Cultivation of mind and body."
Seeing everyone's doubts, Chang Sheng explained, "The scripture is divided into two parts. The first half talks about how to cultivate the mind. The scripture mainly explains three points on how to cultivate the mind. The first is to meditate deeply and really think clearly about yourself. What you want, what you need to lose, what you have to pay, and what you have to endure in order to get what you want. In my opinion, the scriptures make a lot of sense. Many people never think clearly about what they want in their entire lives, even if some people know it. You want something, but you never thought about the price you have to pay in order to get what you want. A common problem in the world is that you want to get it but don’t want to pay, you want to have it but don’t want to lose it, but you don’t know that if you are greedy, you will inevitably get something. There is no loss and it is not in accordance with the way of heaven.”
After everyone nodded and thought thoughtfully, Changsheng said again, "The second thing is not to let others down, not to yourself. If you let others down, you will lose your virtue, and it is difficult to have peace of mind. It is difficult to have peace of mind when you have failed yourself, and it is easy to put it bluntly. It’s about being kind to others, but not blindly conniving.”
"Yes, yes, yes, I've discovered it a long time ago. Bad habits come from habits," Datou nodded repeatedly, "If you meet people who don't know what they are thinking about, the better you treat them, the more they will get into trouble."
Changsheng continued, "The third point is don't do to others what you want to do to others, and don't do to others what others want to do to you. The general meaning is that you should not impose your own ideas on others, and do not allow others to impose their ideas on you. Taishang Laojun is worthy of being the founder of Taiqing. He really has supreme wisdom. Many of the sufferings in the world come from doing what you want to others. You must let others do what you want. If others don't do it, they will not do it. If you obey, you will become angry. In the same way, being forced to accept other people's ideas and not being able to live according to your own wishes is also a source of pain. There is only one correct way, that is, I don't care about you, and you don't care about me."
"That makes sense." Everyone nodded.
Changsheng said, "I just summarized it in a nutshell. The original text is more detailed than what I said. I will transcribe the original text in the future and you will each keep a copy."
When everyone nodded in response, Changsheng said again, "Cultivation of the mind is the prerequisite for cultivating the Tao. If the state of mind is uneven, the spiritual platform is unclear, often trapped by emotions and desires, easily annoyed by worldly trivial matters, always distracted and entangled for no reason, how can we do it? Dedicate yourself to cultivating Taoism?"
Changsheng took the water bag handed to him and took a sip, then continued, "The second half of the Yiqizhen Sutra talks about how to cultivate one's self. Self-cultivation is also based on the gains and losses of yin and yang. Everything has its own consequences. Gains must come with losses. Whether you want to live longer or live longer, you have to pay a corresponding price. Under normal circumstances, the balance of yin and yang is controlled by heaven and earth. I don’t know if you have noticed that the more powerful and long-lived animals are, The fewer heirs you leave behind, the weaker and short-lived the animal is, the more heirs you leave behind. You must know that the way of heaven is clear, and retribution will not be happy. If you die early in a life of debauchery, your children and grandchildren will not live long, and it is difficult for high-flying sparrows to live long. Thousand-year-old bastards You must shrink your head.”
"The Yi Qi Zhen Sutra records a fetal breathing method that can return to nature and eliminate sewage," Changsheng said. "However, it is not easy to practice this method. You need to meditate for at least six hours every day. When I come here, I won’t be able to call friends and travel around, and I won’t have time to watch flowers, admire the moon, or indulge in sexual activities.”
"Every gain must come with a loss." Yang Kai said in a deep voice.
"Yes," Changsheng nodded, "Nothing comes without a price. No matter what we want to get, we need to exchange what we have..."
