Zhao Chuan listened for a long time and suddenly remembered, wasn't this person talking about what he said at Jingyuan Temple last time?
Zhao Chuan remembered it very clearly because Fei Hongjin was with them at the time.
Fei Hongjin was the girl who knew martial arts that she met on the way to Mengcheng.
Zhao Chuan glanced around the stage for a long time, but did not see the girl Fei Hongjin. There was only an old man talking incessantly.
Everyone who saw Zhao Chuan looking around looked at him with disgust, so Zhao Chuan had no choice but to listen patiently.
Although a different person was preaching today, Zhao Chuan listened for a while and felt that this person's speech was also very interesting.
Then I calmed down and listened carefully, only to hear the old man on the stage saying:
"Let me give you a few examples here - there is an allusion between Wang Yangming and the old monk in history.
It is said that when Wang Yangming was in Hangzhou, he heard that there was a divine monk on the mountain who had been practicing in seclusion for three years. He did not eat, drink or speak.
Wang Yangming went to visit this old monk.
Wang Yangming had already reached a certain level of cultivation at that time. When he saw the old monk, he knew that the old monk was not truly in concentration, so he yelled at the old monk, "You old monk, what are you looking at here? What are you talking about?"
The old monk was very surprised and said: "Little monk, I have been in seclusion for three years. I cannot see or speak. Why do you say that I am talking nonsense?"
Wang Yangming said, "Where are you from? How long have you been here?"
The old monk said, "I am from Henan and have been here for ten years."
Wang Yangming asked again, "Who else is there in your family?"
The old monk said, "My mother is still at home, I don't know if she is still there."
Wang Yangming asked, "Do you miss her?"
The old monk said, "How can you not think about it?"
Wang Yangming said, "That's it. Although you are sitting here, you are thinking about your mother all the time and talking about it in your heart. How can you say you are silent?"
So the old monk went down the mountain the next day and went back to see his mother.
As soon as the old man finished speaking, everyone below laughed.
After everyone had laughed, the old man continued:
"Another example is the case of Taoist Zhang Zhishun. Someone packed his luggage and went to Zhongnan Mountain with Taoist Zhang to accompany the old Taoist in practice. He asked the old Taoist for advice on how to practice.
Zhang Daozhang said, "Although you are with me in Zhongnan Mountain now, your heart is like a backpack on your back, full of things."
He then pointed to the house on the mountain and said, "Your mind is just like this house. There are more things in the room. How can you talk about spiritual practice like this?"
What do these two short stories tell us? What is the basis of spiritual practice? It doesn’t mean that you meditate there and have luck, it’s just practice. If a person has no worries, even if he only carries water and chops firewood every day, and understands the Tao every day, he is still practicing.
That is to say, practice must first have a psychological foundation.
Here, I want to talk to you about the second concept after Taoist, which is the concept of Taoist temple.
What does dojo mean? It is not a Taoist temple, but a Taoist temple for your own practice.
Dojo, dojo, it can be said that it is a place.
Everyone has his or her own dojo. It can be said that where you are is your dojo.
Isn’t the human world a dojo?
Cultivation is not a castle in the air. You must have your own ashram. You must first do well in your own ashram and practice real practice. Only in this way can you complete the first step of cultivating the Tao.
Imagine a person abandons his wife and children, goes to a mountain temple, and meditates every day. Does this count as practicing Taoism?
To practice Taoism, there are dojos everywhere. If you can't cultivate well in a dojo, what's the use of running to the mountains?
So how should everyone practice in their own dojo? How to deal with things? What kind of state should we reach before we can start to enter the Tao?
This is the third concept, called Taoism, which is the way people in Taoism cultivate their minds and deal with things.
Only by practicing the Taoist way of doing things and behaving according to the Taoist method can we truly begin to enter the Taoist sect and lay the foundation for the next step of higher-level practice.
That’s all we’ll talk about today. In the next class, we’ll start talking about the Dharma, which is the way Taoists behave.
Do you have any questions now? If you have any questions, just ask me directly and I will answer them promptly. "
As soon as the old man finished speaking, the people below began to buzz.
After a while, someone stood up and asked: Teacher, what do gods eat? Ha, I have a lot of questions. Will Taoism and Buddhism go to different places after cultivation? What will you do after you complete cultivation? Do gods reincarnate in past lives?
The old man on the stage laughed and said: Gods also eat things from the universe. The human world is just a dojo, and there are many other places in the universe. To experience the human world, he would need to be reincarnated, and he would need to borrow an entity.
After finishing speaking, someone in the audience seemed to suddenly realize something.
Someone shouted below and asked: "Thank you for your hard work, teacher! May I ask, teacher, what level of immortal is Daluo Jinxian? Also, is the place of "Dharma and Wealth Couple" the dojo you just mentioned?"
The old man smiled and said: "The earth does not refer to the dojo."
Then someone stood up and said: Teacher, may I ask, cultivating the mind means not holding anything in the mind? Is your inner peace calm and calm? There are several levels of Taoism. Can you tell me about it next?
The old man thought for a moment and then said: No, there are levels in cultivating Taoism, and you have to do it one level at a time. In fact, we have to talk about levels, and when we talk about the world of gods and immortals, we inevitably have to talk about the creation of the universe and the spiritual level. This needs to be discussed even more.
Someone asked: If the Dharma combines Yin and Yang with the magic number, does it count as cultivating the Tao? Is it considered a fairy?
The old man replied: This is a method in Taoism and belongs to the content of Taoism. Tao, there is a Taoist temple, a Taoist method, and a Taoist technique.
Someone asked the teacher, is the constant happiness of contentment considered the eternal happiness of everlasting happiness?
The old man said: That's right. Changle mainly refers to the happiness of life.
Someone asked the teacher, what is the joy of life? Does it mean life? Or life?
The old man replied: No, rebirth means endless, endless rebirth.
Someone asked the teacher, is the psychological basis of Taoism the absence of desires and thoughts? Is it also a state achieved through Taoist cultivation? Or is it something you are born with?
The old man said: It is not that there are no desires and no thoughts, but that there is harmony and harmony. Joy is a state of harmony. Music is just like the joy of music. Music is a state of harmony.
There was a woman who was also listening in the crowd. She stood up, turned around and glanced at the people behind her. She raised her voice and asked: Teacher, the dojo in this world refers to the place where human immortals and earthly immortals stay. The heavenly immortals are here. From heaven? Do these different immortals become different immortals because of their different levels of energy? Some people say that there are more than a dozen levels of everything in the universe, and each level corresponds to a different energy range.
The old man burst out laughing and said: There is a difference between human immortals and earthly immortals. The universe can be said to have countless levels.
The audience burst into laughter again, not knowing who they were laughing at.
The woman did not sit down, but blushed, and continued: After listening to the teacher's class, I have a deeper understanding of living in the present, eating well when eating, doing well when doing things, don't do this and think about that, in your heart Be safe and happy, thank you teacher.
The old man nodded with satisfaction and motioned for her to sit down.
Before sitting down, the woman said again: Thank you teacher, I look forward to teaching you more knowledge. The current understanding is to cultivate oneself and mind, and do a good job in the present moment.
The old man laughed again and said: Yes, you are right to understand it this way. In fact, this is what I want to tell everyone. This is also the first step in cultivating Taoism.
Another woman stood up and asked: Will the memories of gods be erased after reincarnation, or will all memories be retained? "Walking between heaven and earth, beyond sight and sound." Is he considered a human being? "The superiors understand it and are promoted to heavenly officials; the sergeants cultivate it and become immortals in the Nangong; the inferiors obtain it and live for many years. They travel through the three realms and ascend to the Golden Gate." Is it a gradual improvement in the level of cultivation, or is it based on one's upper and lower roots? The first level reached directly after practicing?
This question seemed to be asked at a reasonable level. Anyway, many people in the audience started biting their ears.
It seemed that some people might not even understand the question, but Zhao Chuan had attended a private school, so he didn't feel there was anything he didn't understand.
The old man looked at the audience and said slowly: Immortals come from history, how can they erase their memories? Even if you are an Earth Immortal, you are still at the level of cultivation.
Someone asked the teacher, is the process of constantly eliminating desire the happiness of life?
The old man said: No, desire is a process of self-elimination. When pleasure is exhausted, desire disappears, but there will also be other desires. Gods also have desires, and gods also have desires. Isn’t what they want just desires? For example, if a person says he wants to cultivate immortality and has no desires or desires, isn’t cultivating immortality the greatest desire?
Someone asked: Sir, is this the reason why our Chinese civilization has continued and flourished? Can it be understood that in times of trouble, gods will come down to earth to save our people?
The old man waved his hand and said: No.
Someone asked Teacher Hello! You just said in your lecture that "The Great Dao is not a realm of nothingness, nor is it empty. Laozi said that the nameless is the beginning of heaven and earth, and the named is the mother of all things. The nameless and the named are actually the same thing." Some versions believe that the nameless is the beginning of heaven and earth. , named the beginning of heaven and earth; You, named the mother of all things. What are the differences between these two versions?
The old man shook his head and said: These two have the same meaning.
Someone asked the teacher if he could understand it this way, what is cultivated in Taoism is the state of mind?
The old man nodded: The first thing to cultivate in cultivating Taoism is your mentality.
There was a tall and thick man who stood up and asked: Teacher, do gods also have to go through growth after being reincarnated? Will they use special skills to do good or bad things if they are disturbed by the world? Will helping others reveal their secrets?
Are those who draw talismans and recite mantras also Taoists? Or just mastered a certain technique. Nowadays, there are many divination and divination people who help people read Feng Shui. So what do they belong to?
The old man sighed and said: These will be discussed later.
Someone asked the teacher, for immortals, do time and space still exist?
The old man said: Time and space are not distinguished by humans and immortals. Originally I just wanted to give you a general introduction, but now it seems that this topic is a bit big. In fact, my original intention is to let everyone live a good life. Medical skills are a way of life, and cultivating Taoism is also a way of life.
Okay, that’s it for today.
The old man looked at the people below, smiled, and then waved his hand, and the people disappeared immediately!
