Suiyun Academy is a strange place. He is slightly famous among the colleges in the Middle-earth Divine Continent, not because it has produced any high-level abilities. Although its teaching results are good, they are only above the average level. It is more famous because of It's "not doing business properly" and "deviating from tradition".
The so-called "not doing the right thing" means that as a monk, you should practice cultivation, improve your realm, and become a powerful person for immortality. However, it puts the focus and energy of teaching on the art of refining weapons and the art of divine machine. .
When it comes to the art of weapon refining, even Tianbao Pavilion, which is famous for its weapon refining in the ancient fairyland, is not as obsessed with weapon refining as the academic atmosphere of Suiyun Academy. Even if its weapon refining level is weaker than Tianbao Pavilion, it is not far behind.
What's more, Suiyun Academy is good at innovation. Some unexpected and strange ideas often come up while refining weapons, and they are immediately put into practice. In terms of weapon refining, it can be said that Tianbao Pavilion is the conservative school, while Suiyun Academy is the innovative school.
This "innovative spirit" upheld by Suiyun Academy is one of the reasons why it is called deviant.
As for the art of divine machine, although its method of mutating puppets and dolls has been around since ancient times, in the field of divine machine art, Suiyun Academy is the undisputed number one in the prehistoric fairyland. Moreover, the art of divine machine also adheres to the tradition of Suiyun Academy - the spirit of innovation.
Innovation is not very useful every time, so sometimes, they will come up with some funny things. But I have to admit that there are still some inventions and creations that can change the world.
To put it simply, Suiyun Academy is a bit like a place where modern technology geeks gather.
I have to say that this is the most "school"-like college since the establishment of the college system in the Middle-earth Continent.
A real school should be a place that guides you to find yourself and realize your self-worth, a place that allows you to gain the ability to persist in yourself even after you leave the academy.
And school is by no means a place to cultivate killing tools.
Therefore, although it is not Ye Feng's first time to come to this place, his eyes light up every time he comes because this place is so special.
In addition, Suiyun College is called "deviant". The most important thing is the core philosophy of this college.
The school motto of Suiyun College is a secretary comparable to the Xinhua Dictionary. Ye Feng calls it the "Xinhua School Motto." Although this massive amount of content is nothing to Ye Feng, it is definitely something to any normal person.
However, the students here are actually very happy with the "Xinhua School Motto". Every time Ye Feng sees him, he just sighs in his heart: None of the people here are normal people.
The core idea of Suiyun Academy lies in this "Xinhua School Motto". In short, it is the thought of Mohism.
. . .
The main core ideas of Mohism usually include ten propositions:
Universal love, non-attack, non-fate, respecting the virtuous, advocating unity, non-happiness, heaven's will, understanding ghosts, frugal use, frugal burial.
Among them, the core idea is universal love. Universal love means equality, no kinship, no hierarchy, all other ideas are in the service of universal love. Mozi believed that the reason why the world is in turmoil is because people do not love each other, and everyone benefits themselves and harms others. Self-interest. Parents, brothers, neighbors do not love each other, and countries do not love each other, so there will be turmoil. Therefore, the solution is to love all, love each other, and achieve mutual benefit, and the world will be harmonious. This is really a bit like the finale of "Naruto". It can only be said that it is too sweet, so sweet that it is disgusting.
The reason why it is sweet is that what Mohism pursues is fairness and justice.
Let’s briefly introduce these ideas:
Universal love means equality, without any distinction between relatives and strangers. You can love even if you are not related by blood. But universal love does not mean loving only others but not oneself. Mohism teaches that "love is given to oneself when one loves what one loves." Moreover, universal love also depends on the situation, and it does not mean that everyone loves it. When the enemy tramples you under his feet, do you still love him? Of course he stood up and flipped him over. Therefore, universal love does not love enemies, and people who invade the country and endanger national interests are not loved.
Non-offensive refers to wars against injustice, but wars of justice and destruction, such as resisting foreign aggression, King Wu's defeat of Zhou, etc., are supported by the Mohists. The Mo family proposed non-offense, not just to make a fuss, but to have their own strength. The Mohist School was more like an organization than an academic school, with its own armed forces and the ability to confront the vassal states. The core of non-attack is not to launch an attack first, but when others attack you, you must have the strength to give a powerful counterattack.
Shangxian, it is easy to understand, respecting talents, selecting talents regardless of their relative status, and opposing nepotism. The Mohists also put forward the criteria for selecting talents: virtue, eloquence, and Taoism. In short, they are: good character, good at speaking, and able to do things.
Shangtong establishes a unified mechanism to achieve the highest efficiency of collaboration. When everyone works together, their sharpness can cut through metal, which is pretty much what it means. Shangtong requires unification of actions and concepts, but to whom? Unification in Shang corresponds politically to absolute autocratic rule
Feile, that is, opposed to the Confucian ritual and music system, and felt that it was wrong for the king to spend money on large-scale galas, which was a waste of social resources and affected production. In essence, Feile is not against music itself, but against the ritual and music order that maintains hierarchical rule.
Non-fate is opposed to the fatalism of Confucianism. Confucianism believes that life and death are destined, and wealth and honor are in heaven. The Mohists believe that people should change their destiny through their own efforts. You cannot change what you are like when you are born, but your future can be changed through hard work. Confucians believe that if your father is a farmer, you will also be a farmer your whole life. The Mo family thinks that your father is a farmer, but you can be a scientist
Frugal burials: The literal meaning is easy to understand. Nowadays, fraternity burials are basically implemented in this world. People are basically cremated after death, so as not to add burden to the land. Saving money also opposes extravagance and waste. It can be considered more in line with modern values.
Heaven and ghosts: Mohists believe that heaven has a will, and that heaven and ghosts will reward good and punish evil. In fact, they essentially guide people to do good, so that they should not do bad things, but should love and benefit each other. Doing things that are beneficial to others is used to support the theory of universal love. It is not some feudal superstition.
The main ideas of Mohism are these, and the others are research in logic, optics, physics, etc., as well as city defense and the like. It can be seen from this that Mohism is not only a school of thought, but also a technical organization.
In short, the Mohist family was very powerful at that time. In its most heyday, it was even called Confucianism and Confucianism, the two major schools of thought in the world. So much so that people at that time said: The world's learning is neither Confucianism nor Mohism.
And looking at the ten major propositions of Mohism, you can see that Mohism’s thoughts have been influencing our lives today.
But just like Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, Ye Feng doesn't like Mohism very much.
