So if you have time, try asking yourself a question, is your desire to be admitted on a merit-based basis? Would you give up pursuing another more cost-effective desire because a certain desire is not cost-effective? When you can do this, congratulations, it actually proves that you have achieved the "investigation of things to gain knowledge" advocated by the Confucian sage Wang Yangming. At that time, you are actually very close to letting go of desires and obsessions. But it also shows: you actually don’t want that thing as much as you think you want it.
We must admit that the saying "let go of your obsessions" is correct for the vast majority of ordinary people. After all, this assertion is supported by Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. To be honest, most people really have no reason, and can't find any reasonable reasons, to go against something that is advocated by the three major groups. After all, it is really easy to become like Ye Feng and become a demon. Do you think Ye Feng is a demon?
Becoming a demon is by no means something that should be promoted as a universal value.
We often say: "Obsession that cannot be let go is the root of all pain." This is really not true at all. So wouldn’t it be more logical to let go?
