Ye Yudao: Speaking of the world, I find it strange why some people think that those who have been abroad are the world, and those who have stayed in China for a lifetime and never been abroad mean they have not seen the world. Why "foreign monks can chant sutras" and why "the moon in foreign countries is rounder than the one in China."

In the cognition of some "unknown creatures", everything is good from abroad, and that look really makes people want them to go back and remake it. These people are either stupid or bad, and their minds are still stuck in the hundred years from 1840 to 1940. The pure "Zongzi" of the "Ancient Tomb Sect" has just crawled out of the tomb.

Huaxia has been the center of the world since ancient times.

When it comes to "literature", from the Western Zhou Dynasty to the Spring and Autumn Period, there are "Book of Songs", "Chu Ci", "Historical Records", "Lunheng", and Yuefu poems, and then there are countless Tang poems and Song lyrics. How can foreign countries compare with us? Compared with us, they are "barbarians" and uneducated.

When it comes to force, let alone "Sun Tzu's Art of War", the whole world has not yet understood it, and Hua Xia is an ordinary citizen, and he knows one or two paragraphs. The TV series "Hurry Up" became a hit, and suddenly people no longer dared to look down on the fish seller on the roadside who had a copy of "The Art of War" in his hand.

How many wars have been fought abroad and how many years have they been fought, and the world-famous "Blitzkrieg" are all leftovers from the time when the great Han Huo Qubing sealed the wolf and lived in Xu. In ancient times, when fighting foreign wars, they only knew the phalanx and human sea tactics. The Greek phalanx relied on the strength of the soldiers, the Macedonian phalanx relied on long enough spears, and the Roman legion relied on the sea of people and the wall. In front of our ancestors, it was slave resources given away for free. If Alexander had attacked Qin Shihuang, there would have been only one result, which would have been to capture them all and build the Great Wall. If someone had thrown a world map into Qin Shihuang's face, people in Paris would now have to eat dumplings during the Chinese New Year.

If they hadn't entered the era of hot weapons later and competed in power, otherwise they would be nothing. Comparing with us, they would just be playing house.

In terms of national strength, during the Han Dynasty, "Anyone who offends our powerful Han Dynasty will be punished no matter how far away." In the Tang Dynasty, it was even more "a plan is made every three years, and it will be Heluo for ten thousand years."

It is true that we have fallen behind since 1840 and have been bullied for a whole hundred years. But after that, who did we fear? How did it come about? Wasn't it just typed?

We fell down, but didn’t we get up and catch up again? But you have to say that the world will only remember the winners and the first place. So what I want to say is that the world is a long-distance race with no end. The momentary victory or defeat is not important. The courage to get up and catch up again after falling is the most important. What's more, "the world is still uncertain, and it is still unclear who will win."

I, Yang Yang Hua Xia, will eventually return to the center of the world just like in the past.

. . . . . . . . .

There are times when the country is in bad luck, not to mention us as individuals. So how to deal with this situation? Zhuangzi already gave the answer thousands of years ago: when we are among the trees and geese, there should be dragons and snakes.

Both the words "between wood and wild geese" and "dragon and snake" come from the article "Zhuangzi·Mountain Wood". It is a passage in which Zhuangzi answered a disciple's question. What he wanted to express is that a gentleman should be among wood and wild geese, and there should be a dragon and snake. .

The core meaning of this sentence is that when doing things, you must judge the situation, find the right opportunity, and adapt to changes. Zhuangzi raised two chestnuts for this purpose.

The first is that those trees in the forest that can be used for timber are quickly cut down, while those with distorted textures live long lives and eventually become towering trees because they are abandoned. For trees, they are not used for timber. Not a good thing. Just do this, and the wood will be preserved because it is useless. This is what we often say: "If a tree is beautiful in the forest, the wind will destroy it; if you act above others, others will not do it."

But that's only half,

Then Zhuangzi raised a second chestnut. One evening Zhuangzi was having dinner in a farmhouse. The master was very happy to see Zhuangzi and planned to kill a goose to entertain Zhuangzi. So the owner went all over the yard to catch geese, but he spared the big goose at the door, because that goose sang loudly like mountains and rivers, while the other geese had the same calls, which were ordinary and it would not be a pity to stew them. Here again, success becomes a good thing.

So Zhuangzi asked his disciples: The previous conclusion was that those who failed to succeed survived, and those who succeeded did not die well. Now the conclusion is that those who succeed live well, and those who fail to succeed are eliminated. So what should we do?

So Zhuangzi told his students an idiom, which is the transformation of dragon and snake. Zhuangzi said that a gentleman should have the transformation of a dragon and a snake. When it is time to become a dragon, you will become a dragon and fly thousands of miles in the sky to show your talents. But if there is a severe drought or a scorching summer, you will fall to the ground and turn into a snake. You live in the grass with earthworms and ants, live in muddy caves, and eat dirty food. But you cannot give up on yourself just because you were once a dragon. You must wait for the opportunity to transform into a dragon again.

simply put:

When you transform into a snake, don't be discouraged because you were once a dragon!

When you become a dragon, don’t feel guilty because you were once a snake!

Therefore, good or bad is a matter of one moment and one situation, and must be judged, analyzed concretely, and treated differently. Just like a dragon and a snake, although they look similar, they are very different in nature.

As the saying goes, the cultivation of monks and Buddhas is the transformation of dragons and snakes. Sometimes we are like snakes and sometimes we are like dragons. Life is ever-changing. When you are a snake, you have to lie dormant in the mud and learn to live with earthworms and ants; when you are a dragon, you need to fly high and work hard. When you get a good opportunity, you must show your talents, and when you encounter unkind people, you must know how to be patient. Only in this way can you be a gentleman who can stretch and bend.

This is an unexpected situation. A gentleman should use his bluntness to show others, use his sharpness to encourage himself, hide his weapon in his body, and wait for the time to move.

The Qian Gua in the "Book of Changes" tells people not to use the hidden dragon. If the flying dragon is in the sky, there will be regrets if it overpowers the dragon. In the early stages of everyone's career, they are actually no different from snakes than hidden dragons. They cannot express themselves at this time; only when they have enough talent and encounter the right opportunity can they strive to express themselves; when your career is booming and the momentum is positive, You must learn to restrain yourself when things are going strong, otherwise you will regret endlessly.

It can be seen from this that the changes between the wood and the geese, the dragon and the snake, are actually about the principles of life and work.

A truly talented and knowledgeable person should know how to pretend to be crazy and stupid in life. He should not show his talents in front of others. Like Li Bai, although he was talented in both civil and military affairs, he was arrogant and unruly when he was young, saying that he was born with talents that would be useful, but as a result, he often attracted jealousy and attacks, and his life was full of frustrations and depression! However, Zhang Liang and Fan Li had great achievements, but they retired when they were helping their master achieve great things. These are the wise men that Zhuangzi expected.
