"Qiao Du Xu Lu" contains two couplets from a scribe and a warrior. The sentence goes: Autumn is full of pines in the valley. Wu said: Cannon Zhenhaicheng Tower.
At the same time, it is said that the "Pao Zhen Haicheng Tower" was built by Ji Xiaolan, a scholar of the Qing Dynasty.
For more than two hundred years, the couplet "samurai" has been the most popular and seems to have become the recognized standard couplet in Yansuo Pondliu.
But in fact, the so-called standard couplet "Pao Zhen Haicheng Tower" is not standard. Some people pointed out that the artistic conception and the first couplet are too different, and they are just barely correct (see above). indeed so. However, the poor quality of Pao Zhen Haicheng Tower is not only reflected in the artistic conception, but also in the meter. First of all, in terms of rhyme, referring to the verses one, three, and five, two, four, and six are clear. The second character of the upper and lower couplets are both oblique tones (suo-zhen), and the fourth character is both flat tones (tang-cheng). That’s right. Not working. Secondly, in terms of artistic conception, the first couplet is green and elegant, while the second couplet is rough and martial. Although one is literary and the other is martial, they are not coordinated and lack overall harmony.
It was still the Ming Dynasty scholar Chen Zisheng, who finally wrote the second couplet, which was "Peach Burning Jinjiang Embankment". Later generations believed that among the many second couplets that were written, this one was the most impeccable. First of all, the most basic five elements radicals of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth are right. Secondly, the correspondence between the five characters in the couplet is also very neat. Moreover, if you look at the artistic conception of this second line, you will feel that it is more consistent and reflects the broad and profound Chinese traditional culture.
Of course, "Peach Burning Jinjiang Embankment" actually has another allusion, I don't know whether it is true or not. Legend has it that there is a Jade Emperor Pavilion in Yanqing Temple next to Baogong Lake in Kaifeng. There is a stone tablet buried 9 meters underground, with this couplet engraved on it, which is also disordered. It is also said that one day in winter, when it was snowing heavily, a wandering Taoist priest in his 50s talked to a person in Yanqing Temple for more than an hour. The Taoist priest said that what Ji Xiaolan was right could only be regarded as neat, but it didn't mean much, and it didn't touch the authorities. Taoist priests said that there is a stone tablet buried 9 meters underground in Yanqing Guanyuhuang Pavilion. On both sides of the stele is a couplet, and in the middle of the stele is a painting engraved with the artistic conception of the couplet. The couplet is - Smoke locks willows in the pond, peach burns on the Jinjiang embankment. Taoist priests believe that this is the irreplaceable and absolute right method. In addition to the perfect harmony of rhythm, artistic conception, and organization, this pair of laws also expresses the essence of traditional Chinese culture - the five elements of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth are mutually reinforcing and restraining each other. In today's popular saying, everything in the world is contradictory and interdependent. The Taoist priest said that the couplet belonged to the leader Wang Chongyang and was buried underneath the Jade Emperor Pavilion when it was built. There are records. But in that case, the first couplet was written by Chen Zisheng of the Ming Dynasty, and Wang Chongyang was from the Song Dynasty, so the Taoist saying that it was written by Wang Chongyang does not comply with the logic of time.
