The leader of the guards took out a yellow imperial edict and read: "Don't worry, everyone, I am here not to arrest you, but to announce the imperial edict issued by your majesty today. The first article of the Dachu Code states that the names of all Buddhist temples must be Taxes on all fields must be paid on time, and all monks must be registered. Article 2: Temples are not allowed to defraud people of money in the name of incense money. Article 3: Monks who have all their hands and feet are not allowed to beg for alms, and anything they see is allowed. Arrested and imprisoned. Why so many tenant farmers brought their fields to temples in ancient times was, of course, because the temples’ fields were tax-free. It is also for this reason that those who cannot survive often become monks. Even if they are novice monks, they can still make ends meet.
But once this article is cancelled, I don’t know how much tax I will have to pay every year! There are also the second and third articles, each of which is cutting off the foundation of Buddhism. If there were no means of livelihood such as incense money and alms, all monks would have to go to the fields to do farm work. Who would have time to talk and preach?
And as these policies spread all over the world, which family's children still dare to become a monk? These four policies are obviously intended to destroy the foundation of Buddhism and are strategies to destroy Buddhism!
Xuanzang naturally saw it, but he watched the situation with his eyes and his nose, and his nose looked at his heart. He believed that these monks would never allow such a law to be enforced.
Sure enough, an old monk with all white hair immediately said: "I am nearly eighty years old. How can I make a living if I don't ask for alms?"
"That's right! If you don't charge money for incense, how can you build a golden body for Buddha? If you don't have a golden body of Buddha, how can you protect the people?"
"The fields owned by our Buddhist temples have been tax-free since the Han Dynasty. How can you change the rules of your ancestors?"

His voice shook people's hearts like thunder, and the monks immediately dared not speak any more.
Immediately, the right servant shot Kuai Yue and led people into the temple. He first stared at the old monk with white eyebrows and said coldly: "You are eighty years old. You should have children and grandchildren to support you and enjoy the happiness of family. However, you are greedy for the welfare of the temple and do not want to make progress. If you like leisure and work, you naturally don’t have the money to marry and have children. There are three so-called unfilial piety and the biggest is not having children. Your results today are all caused by the causes in the past. Therefore, you deserve the fate you get today! "
"However, God has a good life. If you are willing to change your ways, the court will also give you a job with no worries about food and clothing."
After Kuai Yue finished speaking, he looked at the other monks and said: "As for you, you have hands and feet, don't you know how to support yourselves? Farming fields and vegetables, and saving the souls of the dead are what you can do to make a living. If you only seek charity from others, you will not be able to make a living with others. What’s different about the beggars on the street?”
At this time, Xuanzang said: "Everyone, since the Emperor of Chu wants to destroy our Buddhist sect, all monks can join the poor monks in bowing to the west and praying for the Buddha to appear and relieve this crisis!"
All the monks were suddenly enlightened and kowtowed to the west: "Now the emperor is ignorant, deceived by villains, and wants to destroy Buddhism. I hope that the Buddha will appear and save hundreds of millions of Buddhists! We will recite sutras devoutly day and night and worship the Buddha with incense and offerings."
After a group of monks kowtowed three times and bowed nine times, a golden light suddenly appeared in the west. In the golden light, there was a golden Buddha manifesting himself with incomparable majesty.
All the monks suddenly looked overjoyed and kowtowed to the Buddha one after another. In their thinking, since the Buddha has appeared, they definitely don't have to worry about the four strategies to destroy the Buddha.
Even the palace guards, under the illumination of the Buddha's light, felt compassion and had a tendency to kneel down and worship.
At this time, Kuai Yue said coldly: "Guards, follow me and salute to the north, and I respectfully invite the Great Emperor Ziwei in the North Pole to descend to earth!"
Immediately, a group of guards followed Kuai Yue and kowtowed to the north. After three kowtows and nine kowtows, purple clouds appeared on the horizon. Dressed in purple robes, the mighty Ziwei Emperor suddenly appeared.
Kuai Yue looked overjoyed, knelt down and saluted, saying: "Old minister, I sincerely welcome your majesty to the world!"
The guards also kowtowed and saluted. This was not only Emperor Ziwei, but also the Supreme Emperor of the Great Chu Dynasty. How could they be disrespectful.
Now the Buddhist monks were confused. Emperor Ziwei had also appeared as a saint. If Emperor Ziwei won the battle, wouldn't they still have to pay taxes and work in the fields?
At this time, Tathagata Buddha stared at Emperor Ziwei and said: "Sakyamuni came here at the invitation of the emperor, and he also asked the emperor to let go of the fight and defeat the Buddha!"
Ling Feng laughed and said: "Did this emperor ever say that he would release Wukong when the Buddha arrived? Monks don't lie, the Buddha broke the precepts!"
What he said was that if you want to save Sun Wukong, let Tathagata come in person.
