Immortals' perception of time is different from that of ordinary people. Naturally, there are no proper human terms such as 996 and involution. Therefore, after the Jade Emperor put down the ideological baggage of the chaos in the ghost world, he was not in a hurry to leave. Decide.
The relationship between Buddhism and Taoism in mainland China has a long history, so much so that both parties have common management authority over many gods.
Or the term "management authority" is not rigorous. To be precise, many gods in the sky are recognized not only by Taoists, but also by Buddhists.
For example, the two titles of King Tota Li who just talked to Taishang Laojun, King of Tota in the High God Sky, and King of the Native North are all proper deities given to him by Taoism. As for the King of Inspiration and Bishamon The three titles of Li Tianwang and Bishamon Tianzun are clearly Buddhist titles.
Another example is Li Tianwang's son, Nezha, the great god of the Three Altar Seas. Of course, he is a deity affiliated with Taoism in name. His master, Taiyi Zhenren, who used lotus roots to reshape his Dharmakaya, himself. He is one of the true disciples of Yuanshi Tianzun. According to his seniority, Nezha has to be called Taishang Laojun as his uncle. But in fact, in the original text of Journey to the West, Nezha appears more as a disciple of Tathagata Buddha.
Such examples abound. For example, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, whom the immortals just mentioned, is so named because he "is as patient and motionless as the earth, and meditates deeply as a secret treasure."
Although he is a great Bodhisattva with a name in Buddhism, the amazing thing is that this Bodhisattva does not appear as the assistant of a certain Buddha. Secondly, as the spokesperson of Buddhism, he stands alone in hell and has established a The great vow of "Unless hell is empty, I will never become a Buddha", let alone the character, the relationship between it and the Ten Halls of Yama is quite subtle.
In the original work of Journey to the West, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is called the Lord of the Netherworld. When King Qin Guang went to the palace to request the Jade Emperor to go to the underworld, he also wanted Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva to know about it. I am afraid that more of them should respect each other and be equal. communication relationship.
Between Buddhism and Taoism, there is an inherent logic and reason for the existence of me and you. Upon closer inspection, it is probably inseparable from the religious origins of China.
However, returning to the world itself, it is actually not easy for both parties to maintain the current balance. But judging from the current situation, it seems that the Buddhist side is breaking this balance intentionally or unintentionally.
Sun Wukong should be regarded as a disciple of Buddhism from beginning to end. After he made trouble in the Heavenly Palace, the words blurted out by the Jade Emperor were to go to the Western Heaven to invite Tathagata Buddha, instead of going to the Thirty-Sixth Heaven to invite Yuanshi Tianzun, which actually explains the problem very well.
It’s hard to judge who is stronger or weaker between Yuanshi Tianzun and Tathagata Buddha. At least, no serious sect classic dares to write this. Since Patriarch Bodhi’s intention to accept Sun Wukong is Tathagata Buddha, this mess naturally has to be cleaned up by Lingshan.
But it’s not like Tiangong hasn’t tried to win over Sun Wukong, but it just failed.
Tang Monk was originally a member of the Buddhist sect. He was the reincarnation of the golden cicada under the Buddha's throne. Of course, there is no need to say more.
Zhu Bajie, who was originally Marshal of Tianpeng, and Monk Sha, who was General of Curtain Curtain, were definitely members of the Taoist sect. It was only because of the strict laws of heaven that they were cast down to the mortal world and suffered the pain of reincarnation.
Lingshan very wisely chose these two people to protect Monk Tang on his journey to the west. After they successfully achieved enlightenment in their journey to the west, they would be given a reward. On the one hand, the law of heaven ruthlessly demoted them to the mortal world, and on the other hand, they took the opportunity to test them and then reward them. There is no need to say more about which side these two are from.
Little White Dragon was in a similar situation, but because he was a demon, he didn't attract much attention from Heaven, so he was naturally excluded. However, it was obvious that this part of the power that could not be ignored was also seen by Lingshan.
To save all sentient beings, I really have you.
The key is that these things in Lingshan are done openly, and there is no fault at all in terms of motivation. The Buddhist side is just organizing labor reform for a group of people who have been condemned by the Heavenly Court. Even if the Taoist school is unwilling to do so, it can only be psychological. Feng muttered, besides, the two are in harmony with each other, let alone a break, even if there is a conflict, it is impossible to exist, at least for the time being.
But again, gods and mortals have different concepts of time.
A year that passes on earth is roughly equivalent to a moment that passes in heaven. It is not a lie to say that one day in the sky and one year in the earth.
Now another person with such profound Dharma appears in the world. The Jade Emperor can't help but frown and think hard, trying to come up with a countermeasure.
However, the Jade Emperor thought very clearly that this person may be a member of the Buddhist sect, but it doesn't matter if he is given a Taoist nickname. Even if it is an idle position, the Buddhist and Taoist families will still be happy, but it has happened countless times. It's just happening again.
However, what Lao Jun said is that it is a good idea to send someone down to have a look, to see what the Buddhist disciple's character is like.
The Heavenly Court side was put aside for the sake of Lin Zhuru, who faced a formidable enemy, and Guanyin Bodhisattva finally came to Lingshan Mountain.
One hundred and eight Arhats stand on the futon, and several great Bodhisattvas stand on both sides. The fat monk with a flower-rolled head among them is naturally the Tathagata Buddha.
"Disciple pays homage to my Buddha and has met all of you brothers." Guanyin Bodhisattva bowed slightly with a calm expression.
She is much calmer than the gods in the Heavenly Palace.
"Honorable Avalokitesvara, how are you guys doing?" The Buddha asked softly with a voice like a bell, always with a faint smile on his face.
"Reporting to the Buddha, everything is fine." Guanyin Bodhisattva replied with a smile.
"Thank you for your hard work, Your Majesty."
"Disciple dare not." Guanyin said, "I have something to report to Buddha. There is a group of people coming from an unknown place. Disciple cannot figure out their whereabouts, but one of them seems to have my Buddhist aura. I hope Buddha can clear up the confusion."
Lin Biao probably didn't expect that after he had performed Buddhist teachings that could shake the heavens, he only seemed to have the aura of Buddhism in the mouth of Guanyin Bodhisattva. This can only mean that Lin Shuai's practice is not enough, and in addition, his ability may not be the same. There is no Buddhism in this world that is directly recognized by Guanyin Bodhisattva.
"Eternal God Emperor"
Tathagata Buddha did not use the supreme Dharma to explore the situation of Lin Bing. Second, he turned around and said to all the Buddhist disciples: "That person used Dharma to cause the cause. The venerable one saw the result at a close distance. The venerable one told me what it is." Because, I am looking for him as a result. If the Venerable Master had not informed me of this matter, I would not have known about the existence of this person, and naturally the cause and effect here would be cut off..."
This tongue-twister-like wit is probably perfect as a hypnotic reading before going to bed, but these Arhats and Bodhisattvas listened very seriously.
"...Honored One, do you know what this person's Buddha nature is like?" Tathagata asked. "Disciples of Buddha nature don't know it, but the Dharma is extremely profound."
Those who can be evaluated by Guanyin Bodhisattva with the four words "profound Dharma" must be among the most powerful people in the world.
Immediately, Guanyin Bodhisattva truthfully explained to the Buddha what Lin Biao said when they met, not even a single word was wrong.
"You should seek the cause of the cause and the effect of the effect, never giving up day and night..." The Buddha and all his disciples smacked these words with joy on their faces.
"Have you ever invited him to come to Lingshan to meet me?" Tathagata Buddha asked.
"Of course, but that person said, 'If you see all forms but no appearance, you will see the Tathagata.'" The Bodhisattva said with a smile.
The hearty laughter of Tathagata Buddha echoed in Lingshan.
"If it weren't for Tang Monk and his disciples to have their own cause and effect, there would be no need to ask for any true scriptures. Just let the young man go to the Tang Dynasty to preach." Tathagata said with a smile.
This is already a very high praise.
"Disciples are only afraid that their karma will ruin Jin Chanzi's ninety-nine and eighty-one difficulties in learning the Buddhist scriptures." Guanyin said she was afraid, but her face remained calm.
"If you don't cultivate in the past life, you will suffer in this life. If you don't cultivate in this life, you will suffer in the next life. I will bear the kindness of my ancestors now, but if I don't accumulate virtue, future generations will worry. People in the world do not believe in true cause and effect, and they will not give up even a penny and are imprisoned by wealth. If a family has a huge wealth but does not accumulate virtue, it will be difficult for descendants to suffer without blessings." An unlucky descendant is like a sick man, and a wealth of wealth is like a cancerous tumor; the cancer takes possession of the person and reduces his longevity and happiness, and his descendants shed tears when they are defeated. In a prosperous place, there are many noble families who stand guard by their lonely lamps; in the homes of good scholars, their descendants will remain healthy for generations to come."
This passage has a bit of an allegiance to it. Our Tathagata Buddha has changed his words from tongue twisters to treasures.
There was a hint of understanding on the faces of all the Buddha disciples. The Buddha meant that everything has its own cause and effect. This is to let Guanyin Bodhisattva take it lightly and not to worry too much.
"The Three Realms haven't been as lively as they are today for a long time. Sure enough, that monkey is always a troublemaker." Buddha said with a smile.
"Amitabha." All Buddhist disciples sighed.
The entrance to the ghost world that is widely known to the world is in Fengdu. After crossing the River Styx, you will come to the entrance of the Yama Palace. However, the world does not know that there are actually ten entrances to the ghost world in the world, corresponding to the ten halls of the ghost world.
It can only be said that King Yama is indeed the most famous among the ten Yamas.
It's actually very simple to reach the underworld, just dig down from any location in this world.
The underworld is actually huge, and the scope of its jurisdiction is actually the same as that of the human world. It is precisely because of such a vast territory that there are ten palaces of Yama to jointly manage it.
However, the underworld is still the underworld.
At this time, the Ten Halls of Yama were gathered together, bowing their hands in a slightly respectful manner, and bowing to the monks on the lotus platform.
An ordinary-looking middle-aged monk sat firmly on the lotus platform, stopped twisting the beads in his hands, opened his mouth and said: "Everyone, it's useless for you to surround the poor monk here, the poor monk doesn't know. "
"Bodhisattva, that power stirred up the ghosts in hell and made them cry and howl. Now it has made the ghosts and ghosts of the bull-headed, horse-faced, and evil warriors uneasy. You must give me an explanation." The leader, King Yama, said helplessly with a bitter face.
"Just because that power has the same source as the poor monk, you are a bit hasty to judge that it is related to the poor monk, huh?" Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva sighed, "Then if someone in the world is seduced by the soul, he will still be there. Do you have to find someone to ask for an explanation?"
