At five o'clock in the morning, Liu Qi woke up under the influence of his biological clock. He habitually circulated his Qi to dispel the remaining sleepiness, but suddenly found that his state had changed.
"By the way, meditate, I succeeded in meditating last night!" Liu Qi patted his face to confirm that he was not dreaming. A strong feeling of joy arose spontaneously, but he suppressed it forcibly.
"Tuk tuk tuk..."
There was a knock on the door. He picked up his phone and looked at the time. Liu Qi shouted "Who is it?" while quickly putting on the clothes thrown beside the bed. Then he heard Feng Xue's calm voice.
"it's me."
"Here we come!" He quickly walked to the door and looked at the master who was still wearing the tattered clothes. Liu Qi felt something bad in his heart. Before he could ask, Feng Xue said:
"It's time to go for morning exercise, bring all your luggage, and check out."
"Check out?" Regarding the morning exercise, Liu Qi was not surprised, but when he heard about checking out, Liu Qi's expression became a little ugly.
"Well, take the dirty clothes to the laundry, and then find an overpass to stay for a few days, and then continue on the road." Feng Xue answered casually, as if she was talking about something very ordinary. Liu Qi was very confused for a moment. Embarrassing, she could accept sleeping in the open air, but sleeping on an overpass...
"Master, can I ask, why do you have to sleep on the overpass?"
"Cultivation of the mind." Feng Xue threw out two words, as if she felt it was not clear enough, and added:
"Cultivation requires a strong enough will. This kind of will cannot be trained just by traveling. To give a simple example, if someone hits you with a mop stained with feces, what will you do?"
"Ah this..." Liu Qi's expression suddenly became weird. As a netizen, he naturally knew the joke of "dipping a mop in shit, Lu Bu is still alive", but he didn't expect that this question would come from the master's mouth.
"The so-called courage is to understand fear, face it, and regard it as your own. If you want to train your mind, it is meaningless to simply strengthen yourself."
Feng Xue calmly said the lines that he had wanted to say for a long time. Although Liu Qi felt that these words were a bit familiar, he did not think of them for a while. However, after realizing that he could not resist, he could only turn around and remember everything yesterday. I repacked my luggage that I didn't have time to pack, and then I was going to find an overpass for morning exercise with Feng Xue.
…
"I have never told you the outline of my martial arts department. Do you know why?"
After leaving the hotel, Liu Qi, who was feeling embarrassed, suddenly heard Feng Xue's words. He didn't know how to answer for a while, but Feng Xue didn't expect him to give an answer. He just said to himself:
"I didn't think you could hold on."
"I can do it!" Liu Qi said in a serious tone, while Feng Xue turned her back to him and waved:
"Actually, before you, I also had other apprentices. Some were for chivalry, some had blood feuds, and some were simply poor and wanted to live a better life. I taught them a lot of things, but... No one has learned real kung fu, do you know why?"
"Didn't meet your standards?" Liu Qi subconsciously used honorifics, but Feng Xue just shook his head and said:
"It's simply inappropriate."
As he spoke, he looked at the Yangtze River that had come into view, and said as he moved forward:
"Our martial arts is not inherited from one sect to another. I have both Buddhist secrets and Taoist classics here. Of course, there are also some strange skills of small sects and sects. If necessary, I can design a suitable set for people. As for martial arts, for those who desire revenge, I will teach them the techniques of killing people; for those who want to be chivalrous and righteous, I will also give them the capital to use force to break the ban, but in the final analysis, they are not the ones who can pass on the mantle."
Seeing that Feng Xue did not pick up the heavy pillow, but instead played a set of punches on the riverside, Liu Qi, who was riding up, couldn't help but become curious:
"Then how can we pass on your legacy?"
"This starts with our understanding of 'martial arts'." Feng Xue tried to cover the fluctuations of murderous intention with the "spiritual differentiation" method he had learned by accidentally entering the state of "trance", while using the help of He Liu The way Qi tells it tells his understanding of "Martial Arts"——
"The so-called martial arts means nothing more than defeating the opponent, but this opponent is not just a 'person', it can also be an abstract concept. Your opponent can be an enemy, it can be the world, it can be a certain phenomenon, Even, it can be yourself.
"This so-called 'opponent' is the goal of your martial arts practice. This is the Tao.
“Achieving goals requires a theoretical foundation, and this is the law.
“Practicing theory requires feasible skills, which is art.
“Practice your art with skill and strength.
“Interpret the Dharma with your heart and mind.
“Pursue the Tao with spirit and sex.
"Together with all one's skills, one's whole heart, one's whole soul and one's nature, this is the sect's concept of 'martial arts'."
Speaking of this, Feng Xue suddenly punched the river. There was no special light effect, but a fleeting sense of crisis flashed across. A trench-like depression clearly appeared on the river, and then another one appeared on the river. Under the influence of the rushing river, it closed again.
"So, when you tell me this, do you mean that I have passed the test?"
Liu Qi looked at the river surface that had returned to its original state after the waves rolled over, and couldn't help showing an excited expression. After all, he still had a little bit of the protagonist's dream, because he felt that since the master told him this, it naturally meant that he had Maybe pass on this so-called mantle.
"You have just passed the first level." Feng Xue did not show off, and affirmed Liu Qi's idea very plainly, "You are different from your senior brothers and sisters. After all, most people regard 'wu' as a A tool, giving him a gun and a sum of money will not make much difference. Of course, I am not saying that this is not good. In the end, martial arts itself is a tool, used for revenge, upholding justice, and There is nothing wrong with pursuing excitement, or even using it to look cool and pick up girls, but after all, that is not in line with the purpose of this sect."
"So, what makes me better than them is that I don't have any bitterness or hatred, and I just want to learn martial arts?" Liu Qi quickly understood what Feng Xue meant, and Feng Xue nodded in agreement, but then he Shaked his head:
"It's true to be innocent, but it's not necessarily true to be strong."
As he spoke, Feng Xue suddenly swung his hand behind him, and a water arrow shot out from the river, turning into a water polo the size of a basketball, and landed in Feng Xue's hand. In his movements, which were like doing Tai Chi, Slow flow.
Looking at this magical scene, Liu Qi was stuck on the question he had already asked, but Feng Xue still opened his mouth to explain:
"It's good that your goal is simple, but on the other hand, you also lack the motivation to persevere. Those who can't even afford food will be awakened by poverty when they are tired; those who have blood feuds will be tired when they are tired. When you are young, you will be chased by hatred; when you are tired, you will be motivated by the injustice in the world. But you are different. You do not have this motivation, because everything is interest, so you have the capital to give up at any time. Use From my perspective, you lack a consistent motivation."
Taoism is my personal understanding of spiritual practice.
The Tao is the goal.
Dharma is a method.
Shu is technology.
The so-called practice is the process of mutual complementation, mutual improvement, and mutual promotion between techniques and methods, and ultimately the process of reaching the goal one pursues.
Not only practice in the fantasy sense, but also any learning behavior can be applied——
For example, treating diseases and saving people is Tao, then medical skills are skills, and medical theories are laws. Use medical theories to create new medical technologies, and discover more medical theories through the practice of medical skills. The interaction between the two is the process of seeking Tao (treating diseases and saving lives).
So, if martial arts itself is a skill, what do you want to pursue through martial arts?
If martial arts itself is Tao, what kind of techniques and methods should be used to pursue it?
I think this is the essence of "wu".
