Under the moonlight, stars dotted the earth.

On the corridor leading to the main hall from the backyard of Mulian Temple, two shadows of different shapes were quietly crossing the courtyard and soon arrived at the entrance of the Main Hall.

"Are you sure this is the first place we want to search?"

Looking at Hui Ji next to him with some uncertainty, Pei Wende always felt that the other person was as unreliable as his master in some aspects.

According to normal people's logic, when you discover that there may be something fishy about this temple, shouldn't you search some places that no one usually pays much attention to?

Why did Huiji's first reaction be to go straight to the Mahavira Hall instead of some other more secretive inner room of the meditation room?

"Because the first time I noticed the 'unknown' nature of Mulian Temple was from this main hall."

Huiji looked up at the main hall of the temple. In the field of vision that Pei Wende couldn't see, an abnormal and twisted incense and luck were slowly forming.

During the day, this incense and luck are not yet obvious.

But at night, this abnormal distortion became very clear in Hui Ji's eyes.

"The sky sends murderous intentions, and the stars change. The earth sends murderous intentions, and dragons and snakes rise from the ground."

"The mountains within a radius of more than ten miles are all converging towards this great palace..."

"It's like a huge 'treasure bowl'. When this place is established, it will be the day when the evil spirits will worship and the spiritual treasure will be born."

When she said this, Hui Ji's tone paused slightly before continuing.

"If I'm not mistaken, tonight is the day of success."

Hearing what Hui Ji said, Pei Wende frowned unconsciously and felt an inexplicable feeling of horror in his heart.

"Is it such a coincidence?"

Pei Wende didn't believe there were such coincidences in the world.

In other words, the so-called "coincidence" in the world is actually an "inevitability" that one does not know.

"Of course there is no such coincidence in the world."

In the shadow where Pei Wende couldn't see, a cold smile appeared on Hui Ji's face.

"Our arrival seems to have caused a chain reaction, which is why the monsters hiding here chose to take the initiative to 'grow up'."

Hearing the sound of the string and knowing its elegant meaning, Pei Wende immediately reacted.

"Did that tiger make some kind of interference? Specifically to deal with us?"

His mouth opened in disbelief. Pei Wende didn't think that he, a mere mortal, could make the monster hidden in this temple change his plan.

In other words, it was the seemingly out of place young monk next to him who caused all these changes.

"Amitabha!"

Shaking her head gently, Huiji clasped her hands in front of her chest and murmured.

"All conditioned phenomena in the world are like bubbles in a dream, like dew or lightning, and should be viewed as such."

Huiji's chanting seemed to be some kind of opportunity. The originally closed door of the Main Hall suddenly opened, and a cold wind that penetrated into the bone marrow blew out from the inside to the outside.

call……

Like a giant tiger with its mouth wide open, there was no light from candles in the dark hall, but only the endless biting cold.

"Amitabha, you are finally here."

Slowly turning around, the calm-faced old abbot stared at Hui Ji and Pei Wende standing at the door, his tone still maintaining the state of neither sadness nor joy.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………

"Amitabha, you are finally here."

Looking at the old abbot facing each other across the door, Pei Wende felt a breathtaking aura emanating from the other party, which made him unable to move for a moment.

"This kind of aura...this old monk is definitely not a mortal!"

He clenched his fists tightly, and the stinging pain from his palms instantly made Pei Wende regain control of his body.

"Actually a real ascetic?"

Hui Ji, who knew what this meant far better than Pei Wende, was stunned for a moment, then raised her voice and yelled.

"Old monk, you really hide it well enough!"

Accompanied by the astonished looks of the old abbot and Pei Wende, Hui Ji changed her previous gentle demeanor and became extremely fiery in her words.

"I thought you were just bewitched by evil spirits, that's why you refused to let me stay here."

"But now it seems that this little brother is indeed right, you are the monster itself!"

As soon as these words came out, Pei Wende realized that Huiji had not believed his words from the beginning.

Maybe even in her heart, Huiji was wary of herself to some extent, but she just didn't show it.

[This feeling is really a bit subtle. 】

He glanced sideways at Hui Ji. Although Pei Wende also didn't completely trust Hui Ji, the feeling of not being believed by others was really unpleasant.

Especially when he clearly told the truth, this unpleasant feeling became even stronger.

[However, now is not the time to think about this...]

Forcibly focusing his attention, Pei Wende cast his gaze on the huge Sakyamuni Buddha in the Main Hall.

Due to his experiences in this life, Pei Wende feels that he has some basic knowledge of Buddhism, at least a little more than ordinary people.

But the current Sakyamuni Buddha seems a little different from the Third Buddha in my impression.

"The handprint of that Buddha statue...is it the meditation seal?"

The so-called "meditation mudra" is a Buddhist mudra in which you sit in lotus position with your hands flat on your legs and one palm on top of the other.

Generally speaking, this kind of seal requires both hands to be placed in front of the abdomen, the right hand is placed on the left hand, and the two thumbs are connected.

Because this seal was made by the Buddha when he entered meditation, it has the effect of concentrating on it, so it is called "meditation seal".

However, once this kind of mudra appears on Sakyamuni Buddha in the Mahavira Hall, there is another theory.

That is, the monks living in this temple are all ascetics and ascetics who practice Hinayana Buddhism.

Because the seal formed by the big Buddha in the center of the temple often symbolizes the "main business" and "school" of the temple.

The third-generation Buddhas enshrined in most temples hold Dharma seals, demon-subduing seals, fearless-giving seals, and wish-giving seals, etc., which are used to "pursue all living beings."

If we include some secret Tantric seals.

The number of these Buddhist seals is so large that there are even more than a hundred.

Therefore, in this era when Mahayana Buddhism has become the mainstream, Sakyamuni Buddha, who holds the "meditation seal", is simply a niche school that cannot be more niche.

So far, apart from his own Tongqing Temple, the Sakyamuni Buddha in Mulian Temple is the second one that Pei Wende has seen.
