Pepper instinctively took a few steps forward, as if getting closer would allow her to see more clearly. "Kema Company?" he asked again. "Are you okay?"
The old scout pulled his lips back from his sharp teeth as if smiling. Some of the blood from the man's missing horn got into his mouth, turning them red. It swung its thin, black tail and flapped violently on the hard ground. "Come closer," he said. His voice sounded higher than usual. nervous. "coming."
Pepper quickly glanced back and saw the entire Nightman tribe huddled on the ground behind the circle, trying to stay as far away from the circle as possible.
Koma stumbled forward, tilting his head and rolling his eyes at Pepper at an odd angle. "The boy should come. I won't eat."
The pepper's internal organs turned to ice. Something was wrong with Koma—very wrong. Everyone else knew what it was too. He wasn't behaving normally. He didn't even look hurt. He walked forward unevenly step by step. He should be lying down instead of
Koma lurched forward like lightning and caught Pepper by the hair four steps away. Pepper was ready, but the old devil was faster. His life was saved by the fact that his hair was still short and hadn't been washed in months - it was too greasy for Koma to hold on to.
Pepper turned her head and held the man's horn in front of her face as a warning. "Back off!" he shouted.
"Boy. Be still. Kitte
-ghost. "
The old demon's sickening presence seeped into Pepper's skin, making him feel like he was swimming in vomit. He felt his insides twisting, not sure if it was fear, but his mind was clear. He felt peaceful. woke up.
"Back off!" Pepper yelled, trying to sound dangerous and commanding, holding Koma's own horn in front of him as a weapon. He glanced back, hoping someone would come to his aid, but the Night Man Not moving. They all stared with wide eyes and expressionless faces.
Koma lost his footing with a loud bang and fell to the cold ground. Before Pepper realized she had been beaten, she stumbled forward a few steps. The demon swung his tail so fast that he couldn't even see it and grabbed him right on the back.
It doesn't even hurt - it just feels like pressure at first. Warm pressure. Then it was wet and cold in the winter air. Pepper realized that his back was just above his armpits, right through his thick shirt. If Koma hadn't slipped, Pepper would have been cut in half.
Even that wasn't enough to scare him. Something was helping him stay focused. He didn't know what it was, but he was clear-headed and somehow, he just knew. He felt something on him, as if someone was watching him and telling him to stand up. He jumped up and smoothed his shirt, ignoring the blood that had dripped into his armpits and was now running down his back to the itchy spot above his tail.
Koma's eyes rolled in his head, resting on Pepper. The cursed man awkwardly stood up while Pepper tried to decide if he should attack. He should. He knew he should do this. Something inside him drove him to attack, to attack now, but he didn't.
When the old scout's lips pulled back into that same hungry smile, Pepper knew this was it. There is nothing wrong here. Kill or be killed. It's true, there's no escaping it.
Pepper can't run fast enough. He's also not strong enough or fast enough. He has no chance. He is dying. A child cannot fight an adult and win.
A good death. Dad's words came to mind, and Pepper wasn't even sure if Dad had told him. But that’s what Dad would say too if he watched them confront each other. He died a happy death with a lot of other people's blood on his body.
Koma stood up straight, paws flexed, then leaned forward, pointing his remaining horn at Pepper. But then he shuddered slightly and lost his balance, as if someone had pushed him. His wild eyes darted in every direction, and his head twisted to accommodate them. He seemed confused.
But Pepper was still not afraid, and he didn't know why. He can do this. He felt energetic and sober, and looked back at the Night Man again, huffing. They just wanted to watch him die. The crows will take them away. The crow took everything!
The old scout twitched slightly again, and this time he had to use his feet to steady himself. He was pushed! Pepper saw it. Nothing was forced upon him. Nothing can be seen.
But it doesn't matter how it happened. Pepper saw an opening, and this time he jumped forward and drove the tip of his horn deep into the man's calf.
He felt the pressure of the man's flesh through the horn, felt it slide in and penetrate deeply, felt it slide against the bone. It left a sick feeling in his arms, not the same as when he cut open a rabbit.
Pepper suddenly broke free from the horns and jumped back in time to escape the devil's clutches.
The devil now acted a little more cautiously, stepping carefully on the leg with the hole, always ready to catch Pepper as soon as it entered his range.
Pepper wasn't strong enough to drive his skull through his jaw or eye socket - there were too many bones blocking his brain. Maybe not strong enough to pierce the ribs and get the heart. Anyway, Dad said that stabbing someone with a knife is much slower than cutting someone with a knife. All the good spots are hard to prick and don't draw enough blood. Even if he ends up killing Koma, Koma will kill him now.
But it doesn't matter. Pepper is not afraid. Koma was much taller than he was, strong, burly, and real. But even so, Pepper wasn't afraid. He felt something driving him to action, and that and his anger built up like a little ball of fire in the pit of his stomach, sending strength through his body.
He and Koma moved carefully around each other, the demon's attention drifting in and out like his brain was out of whack. But there was never enough time to open.
Something moved in the air over Koma's shoulder and pushed him again. The old scout turned his head and tried to hit the invisible thing.
Little Pepper jumped in and stuffed the horn into the man's lower back, the fleshy area under the ribs. It went in so deep, almost up to Pepper's hand. He couldn't pull it out in time.
Koma turned around and tried to grab Pepper, who ducked and spun backwards. The demon ignored the horn protruding from his back, though Pepper was sure it must be emboldening him.
The old scout's tail was waving in the air, sharper than a knife. He missed and was left dazed and confused.
Pepper saw Koma's toes curl up and his knees sink slightly, giving him a timely warning that a charge was coming. He shot himself to the side to avoid a bear hug that whizzed through the air.
The demon turned his head, and Pepper instinctively sucked his whole body in and hid without even thinking. Instant reflection. He thought he was about to be discovered, and that's what happened.
Koma's eyes slid over him, the demon spinning in circles, a confused look on his bloodied face. Pepper saw his opportunity, stepped forward and pulled out the horns with both hands. It broke away cleanly, and he quickly stepped back, crouched down, and hid again.
Pepper felt a grim smile stretch his cheeks as he realized he could do this. He might win. His back hurt now, a sharp pain that loosened his arms to the elbows. But it was okay—he could sew it up. Winning is possible. Let those cursed by God, cowardly, black-hearted night people watch!
The demon howled, an inhuman tearing sound, as if he had screamed so loud that it had torn out his throat. It spun around, swishing its tail in every direction and clawing wildly here and there with its claws. Pepper saw another opportunity and stabbed him in the back of the thigh just below the buttocks. He pulled the horn out with both hands and then pulled it back.
But he wasn't fast enough. Keima spotted him and prepared to attack again.
Even though the old scout was staring at him, Pepper desperately hid. For a moment, he felt Koma's eyes slide over him. The demon's foot slipped as he tried to keep his balance.
A moment passed and the devil found him again. This time, he kicked, grabbed Pepper's elbow, and swung his left arm to the side so hard it felt like it was being ripped off. There was a loud bang, and a burning pain surged through his upper body, and he felt something was wrong. He looked down and saw that his shoulder was completely dislocated and his arm was hanging there uselessly.
Pepper should have panicked at that time. He knew he should do this. But there was a calmness in the air that reassured him and helped him focus. He grabbed the horn with his right hand and got ready.
Koma raised his arms and lashed out with his claws, so close that Pepper had no chance of escaping.
At that moment, Pepper hid again and used all her strength to force her way in. He slipped away.
It works. Koma soon found him again and although he was looking at him when it happened, he had lost focus. That's what Pepper needs - one moment at a time, either to run away or to fight back.
Pepper hid again, and the old scout looked away for a moment. He jumped forward and stabbed the man in the stomach, then back again, but with only one arm he couldn't get very far.
The demon lashed out with his claws, but Pepper ducked. He stepped forward and stabbed the man in the side before running away.
He hides again and attacks again. My knees. arm. side. Stomach again. later. It's never deep, but there's always something.
But then he messed up. Even though he couldn't reach the throat, he lunged for it.
Koma hugged him tightly with her arms and opened her fangs and mouth to bite Pepper's face off. Pepper lowered his head, and Koma only bit his ear, biting through it and tearing off a large piece.
Pepper screamed, pain flashing through his mind. A thousand knives penetrated deeply into his brain and spread all over his body. Even his fingertips stung like needles.
The old scout laughed, a wet gurgling sound. Pepper heard him chew and swallow. "The cat ghost is delicious," he said, as blood and saliva fell on Pepper's face.
Little Pepper twisted her body hard, trying to get free. With only one good arm, he couldn't get any leverage, but the attempt caused the bones of his injured shoulder to rub together and shoot him through the chest. He screamed again.
Koma opened her mouth again, wide, but this time with a real, blood-soaked smile. He slowly sank his teeth into Pepper, who struggled to free herself, but to no avail. Slowly, slowly, teasing and torturing him. The old scout's heat and stench hit him. His teeth tightened and Pepper couldn't push away any longer.
He did one last thing. With one last desperate twist, he bit down on the man's throat. He gritted his teeth and took a bite of the man's flesh. He couldn't help but notice how bland it tasted.
Koma screamed and released her hug from Pepper. Not quite, but just right.
Pepper swung his good arm upward and stabbed wildly and desperately. The tip of the horn barely missed the demon's eye, and Pepper pushed up with what little leverage he had. The tip pierced Koma's eye, which was deformed, and Pepper was still pressing it. He pressed harder until he felt the horn hit the harder flesh and bone behind the eye and get stuck there.
The old scout was so angry that he couldn't even scream. He only let out a strangled hiss, a sound of pure anger.
Little Pepper couldn't push the horn in anymore, so she spat out a mouthful of meat, then opened her mouth to take another bite.
The ghost struggled to push him away, to throw him aside, but they were too tight. Pepper struggled not to be thrown out, not knowing what he would do next if he was thrown out. He only had the use of one arm, but he frantically grabbed onto anything he could. Just when Koma had enough chips to throw him out, Pepper's fingers caught his horn - the one that was still attached to his forehead.
Koma threw Pepper back, but Pepper still had a tight grip on the man's horns. The momentum was strong enough to knock him off balance. The old demon stumbled forward and fell. Pepper leaned hard on the back of Koma's head, pushing her down with all her weight.
The severed horn was still in the devil's eyes and fell to the ground first. It hit Pepper's skull with a thud that Pepper felt but didn't hear.
Koma twitched, became motionless, and never moved again.
Pepper stood up quickly. He took a step back, then another. A joy of victory spread throughout his body. He wanted to shout but didn't know what to say. He did it! He's alive and fighting a demon! Dad would be so proud, no matter how good Hua sings, he can never surpass her!
He was only happy for a moment before feeling pain again. The wounds on his back stung like they were on fire, and his shoulders hurt like 20 stones weighing on him. His ear, or what was left of it, felt like a three-inch fingernail in the cold air.
He has not been swayed by emotion but one. He couldn't bring himself to look at the body. The fear it caused, lying at the edge of his vision, was enough to wash away his good mood. He closed his eyes and walked forward, not opening them until he was sure he had gone far enough and the body was behind him.
To Pepper's surprise, the Night People remained where they were, huddled at the other end of the giant salt circle. He had expected them to come running over, cheering and praising him. But they didn't. He didn't know why, but it felt like betrayal, like abandonment, and it hit him almost as hard as it hurt. It hurts.
He watched them for a moment, trying to figure out what was going on. They were all motionless; some opened their mouths in horror, others with expressions that he could not see clearly. Hundreds of people, together. There were so many people, but no one came to help him. No one cheered.
Pepper looked around for Natak and soon found him, still holding Sheila. When their eyes met, the imp squirmed and escaped Natook's arms. He ran forward, his luminous eyes shining like a star on his dark skin, dim in the bright sunlight. Several others gave chase, but the little boy was too fast and did not catch up immediately.
"Peppew! Are you okay?" he shouted. Just as he was about to cross the salt line, his dad grabbed him by the coat and stopped him. "Peppew!" Sheth shouted. "Let go!" the little boy started fighting, but his father lifted him up and pinned his arms to his sides.
Pepper found his voice when he saw Natook walking to the edge of the circle. "Why don't you help me?" he shouted. "You want him to kill me, don't you?" Since you promised not to kill me, you want me to die in his hands!"
"Black Tails, kid, I-"
"If you don't want me to die, then why are you so quiet? You just saw a little boy fighting an adult and no one cheered! But I won! I'm still alive!"
Her father's eyes were on fire. He said: "Child! You - - - - - -"
Natak waved his hand to silence him. The old devil said: "I would come to help you if I could, but I can't. But cheers? I took Koma out of his mother's when I was thirteen. I cut his umbilical cord , gave him a bath and laid him on his mother's chest. How could I be happy about what happened to him?"
The answer angered him, but Pepper couldn't find one.
Farat glared and said: "My child, you are our curse."
"You are my curse!" Pepper shouted. The pain that racked him only added fuel to his rage. "If you'd abandoned me to a foreigner, Dad would have caught me and we'd be on our way to glory!" Instead, you locked me up, threatened to sell me, and then everyone ignored me, Leave me as alone as possible! And then you decide to kill me!"
Nattuk sighed sadly and said, "Kid, Blacktail, that's not how it works-"
"If I am your curse, you deserve it!"
"You're bleeding," Natuk said with an impatient sigh.
"I know!" Pepper shouted.
"Really, God sent him to torture us."
"Maybe the gods sent me to see what you would do to a lost little boy, and you messed up."
Everyone was thinking about this sentence and was silent for a long time. Pepper said this without thinking, but the longer she said it, the better she felt.
Natuk didn't seem to think much of it, but who could make sense with him? He said: "Do you want to keep yelling and bleed to death, or do we sew you up?"
Pepper frowned, but his anger quickly faded away, allowing more pain to wash over him, and he also realized that he was really starting to get cold. The cold air pressed into the wound on his back, and as his heart beat faster, he felt more and more pain. It hit him like a wave every time he breathed. Pepper's eyes soon filled with hot, stinging tears. "I want to be sewn up," he said, weaker than he expected.
Natak smiled, but not to his eyes. He said, "Good. We didn't bring the proper supplies, so hurry up to my tent and get the basket in the red corner. I'll need it to dress your wounds."
"Why can't you get it?" he asked, blinking away painful tears and trying to keep his voice steady. How can Natuk still be so heartless? After all this?
"He can't lift anything with arms like that, Elder," one woman said angrily. She has sharp edges and a serious expression, with a few strands of white hair in her black hair, which contrasts with her young face. Pepper wasn't sure if he recognized her, but he could still barely see through the stinging tears he couldn't blink. "Come here, kid."
For a moment, he wondered if there was a trick to it - had she promised not to kill him like the others? He didn't know her, like all the other Night People, except for having met her a few times. But she stood very close to Farat. Should he run away while he still had the chance?
But a little push from behind made the decision for him. It was a subtle feeling, more like wind, but it made him move. Pepper briefly wondered if anyone among the dead was on his side, because he had sensed something during the battle, and maybe before that. But how does that make sense? They must all be dead Outlanders and maybe some Night Men.
He stepped across the circle of salt, experiencing the sense of separation he had noticed before. It really reminded him of one of his mother's shields, even though you couldn't see anything with this.
The old woman nodded and knelt down to examine his shoulder. She made him let go of his arm and let it drop again, making him whimper in pain. She touched his shoulder, wondering what was going on inside, then turned his wrist and gave it a gentle tug.
The bones slid back together so quickly that Pepper didn't even realize what was happening until it was all over. The severe pain disappeared, leaving only a slight ache. He expected it to be scary and even opened his mouth to let out a scream he didn't need.
"Feeling better now?" OK. Be careful with your arms during this time. Don't move anything too heavy, otherwise it will happen again," the woman said. "Now go get the medicine basket. Hurry, but don't run. Just leave. "
Pepper moved his arm up and down to see if it was really stuck. This is. It feels like normal.
"Come on, little kitten ghost. You're still bleeding," the woman said. For a moment, she crossed her arms and looked a lot like her mother, even though she was a completely different person.
"I'll be right back," he said. As soon as he crossed the salt line, the whispering voices returned, along with the feeling of something he couldn't see moving around him. He wanted to know why there were so many people here? Why were there so many?
Natak's tent was not far from the center of the camp, and it only took him a moment to get there, even on foot. As soon as he arrived, the basket of medical supplies was placed where the elders had said - in a corner, mostly dyed red from deerskin. Pepper was tempted to lift it up with his injured arm and look at it, but the feeling of the cracking bones was too clear in his memory. Instead, he held it up with both arms, whimpering quietly as it pulled at the long gash on his back.
When he returned to the salt circle, he found that most of the Night People had moved forward again and were waiting for him. Farat, Tesvan, and a few other stronger men met his eyes, but as he approached they parted to let him in.
Walking through the circle and walking among them made him nervous, but they had promised not to kill him and he wasn't afraid anymore...but now that he thought about it, the fear was back. After all, it wasn't gone forever - what little peace he had left was driven away by the thought of the blood running down his back.
Natuk ordered him to kneel down, took his arms with several hands, and carefully took off his shirt. He gritted his teeth and closed his eyes, trying to ignore the intense pain, but what really made him scream in pain was when they dragged it away from his bitten ear. The feeling of having your fingernails pulled is worse than having your back opened.
He had never felt so naked in his life, kneeling on the cold, hard ground, surrounded by people who, even after all this time, were still strangers. He was still wearing pants, but the cold air around him made it impossible to forget how vulnerable he was. At least they haven't stepped on its tail yet. He realized that it was fear that made him feel this way. The fear is back.
As soon as he closed his eyes and thought about something else, two little hands grabbed him. He peeked and saw little Xie Si standing there, looking very sad. "It's okay, Pepi."
"I know," Pepper said, trying to control her voice. He also has a friend here. There was no need for him to be so scared. But, he is. This is going to hurt. "But... can you, um... can you hold my hand the whole time? 'Cause it's going to be really bad when they sew me up, and-"
Someone dragged a piece of cloth over the wound, from shoulder to shoulder, and Pepper screamed like a stepped dog. Tears filled his eyes and he had to close them again. He felt her grip on his hand tighten, probably as tight as a little boy could hold.
"It's okay, Pepi! "It's okay!" Xie Si insisted eagerly.
After a while, as they started stitching him up, Pepper felt the first sting of the needle. The needles hurt enough, over and over, but the worst part was that they had to squeeze the skin together. With each stab, he felt like he was being stabbed again, and they were poking from both sides, all the way to his spine, causing twice as much pain.
Pepper endured it as patiently as possible. He was worried that once he started crying, he wouldn't be able to stop, and it would be noisy and embarrassing, so he kept his chin raised and tried not to cry. Mostly, he just held his breath a lot. She had been holding his hand bravely, saying so every time Pepper flinched.
When the sewing was close enough to the center that only Natuk could sew him, a commotion spread through the tribe. Many of the demons who had been standing around watching him turned their attention elsewhere, in the direction of Koma's body. Pepper almost stood up and ran away, thinking that the old scout must be alive again and still walking towards him.
But before he could say anything, Sheth put her hand down and shouted, "Dina!"
When Pepper turned to look, Natuk grabbed him by the head, turned him around, and nearly stabbed him in the face with a needle. "Stay still, little kitten ghost. We're almost done."
Pepper heard Deanna running from far away, her feet slapping against the wet ground. She stopped about thirty paces behind him, probably next to the body.
"What the hell is going on?" she shouted. Then, in a calm but equally confused voice, she said: "What happened to him? Why are you all in there? Where did these angry ghosts come from?"
He heard movement, it sounded like she was moving the body to examine it.
"Why... from the size of the footprints, it looks like a group of women took turns stabbing him? What did he do?"
"Dina!" she shouted again, and this time someone heard her.
"Oh, Sheth! Here you go. Wait, let me put these somewhere." Deanna threw something big and heavy, and it landed with a thud a few steps away. "Come here, dear boy. You can tell me what is going on, for no one else knows."
Pepper heard Deanna pick up Shane, and she hugged him tightly. He squeezed her back and made the same noise. Even through the pain of stitching, Pepper felt the pangs of jealousy. "Oh, you are so strong!" she said. "you……"
She was silent, and so were everyone. He could feel their fear of her, which was evident in their silence, trying not to look at her.
"Elder, you'd better give me a reasonable explanation." Deanna said, her voice becoming deeper.
The old demon said unmoved: "Girl, come and sit here. I think our poor little kitty ghost wants to see a friendly face."
Natuk squeezed and poked again at inappropriate times. Pepper had to hold back the painful whimper and blinked hard to squeeze out more tears. At this time, Deanna walked into his room. view.
After a moment's hesitation, she plopped down, her folded knees almost touching his. She stood beside her, holding her hand. She was still wearing the same baggy, baggy pants as before, with the same old fabric tied around her chest, but the first thing Pepper noticed was how clean they were. She also took a bath, for her skin showed no traces or abrasions of dirt, bark, or anything else. It must be very cold.
But it felt good to see her. Although his heart reached out to her, hoping that she would be his friend again, the relief made him stronger. However, her facial expression is raw at first, full of ruthlessness and anger. Pepper stared at her, pleading with his eyes. She stared at me, coldly, madly. However, he decided not to tell him. She was angry because of him and it gave him hope.
Natak's needle pierced Pepper's sensitive spot again, and Pepper hissed, then he felt the thread pass through and continue to hiss. He could no longer meet Deanna's gaze, so he lowered his head. She took his hand again and held it as tightly as before.
Deanna grabbed his chin, raised his head again, and said, "Oh, poor guy. They even made you listen. It looked like a big bite. I'm sorry, Pepper. I should have stayed Come down."
"Yes, you should!" he shouted, unable to control the sudden surge of emotion that came over him. I was going through a lot of things at the same time, but mostly hurt and angry. She could have kept him safe. It would have been easy for her, but she didn't. "I was almost killed!" he said angrily. He lowered his head again and began to sob. It was hard for him to hold back from crying loudly.
Anger, frustration, betrayal, fear, everything. Now everything was exposed and there was nothing he could do. He could only hold out for so long.
Deanna put a gentle hand on the back of his neck and pressed her forehead against his. She held him silently, and he watched tears drip down his face, darkening the ground. He let out a scream with every prick of Natuk's needle, and whimpered with every gust of wind in his ears.
When Natook finally had the stitches up and began to wrap the bandages around his chest and shoulders, Pepper's relief quickly turned to horror as she realized the wounds still hurt and would continue to hurt.
"I'm not safe anywhere, never safe." After a while, Pepper choked her throat.
"Yes, you are, Pepper. I'm sorry," Deanna said. He thought he could hear compassion in her voice.
"Nowhere is safe. Daddy isn't here, is he?" said Pepper. The thought was so dark that he didn't even want to say it, but it came out on its own.
"I should have stayed. I made a big mistake. I'm sorry," Deanna said. She sounded genuinely regretful, which made Pepper look up in surprise. Deanna's eyes met his, and he barely recognized the person he was seeing. Where before she had been confident, even condescending, now her eyes were pleading with him. Her mouth, which could only smile sarcastically or mockingly, frowned in sympathy. It was like her body had been stripped of ten layers.
"Dina? What is Huang?" she asked.
"I had so much going on in my head that I wasn't even thinking clearly. I just, I screwed up again, right? I went deer hunting because I thought it would make everyone happy, but when I came back, there was everywhere They were all angry ghosts, and Pepper was torn to pieces. There was also a dead man, who must have been defending the tribe. That was your best scout, right? What killed him? You drove it away ? I’m sorry, Elder. Everyone. I should be here.”
"That..." Natuk started to say, but he paused, not knowing what to say.
"Koma attacked Peppiu."
"What?" Deanna said, her face suddenly flattening as she tried to digest the words. So the women came and rescued him. Those little footprints, and... oh, the elves, they fought him with their horns, Isn't it? That's why he had so many stab wounds. Is anyone else injured?"
No one spoke for a while. Deanna stood up and Pepper immediately missed her warmth. "What happened? Why are you all staring like that? Pepper?"
Natuk stood up and gestured to Deanna to relax. He said: "The circle protects us from ghosts. Because of our heritage, that kind of stuff can corrupt us. Koma was caught outside and defeated. He lost his mind and attacked Pepper."
"I see. So Pepper got to you just in time? Why are only women fighting? Is it safer for them to leave?"
The old demon looked more miserable than Pepper had ever seen him. He looked completely deflated, as if he had sucked all the life out of him. "Pepper fights him alone," he said at last, his voice barely above a whisper.
Deanna stared blankly for a moment, pondering what Natuk had just said. Pepper looked at her face, finally posing. "What?!" she shouted.
The elder said sheepishly: "We can't help him, otherwise we will also become depraved and violent. I regret-"
Deanna stamped her feet so hard that Pepper felt the ground tremble. He jumped, unsure if he needed to get out of the way before he was kicked. Her eyes turned pure black with tiny dots like stars, but the sight confused Pepper rather than frightened her. Yet when she spoke, she still sounded like herself. "You let Pepper fight an adult and you didn't help at all? You didn't even throw a stone? You just stood there and watched? Look at me! Answer!"
"There's nothing we can do," Farat said. "We will do the same thing before we take the plunge again."
Pepper felt emboldened and added: "Farat planned to kill me. He and Koma were going to do it in secret. Natak would let them do it when they found out. I am alive because I can hide."
"Are you all idiots?" Deanna yelled, gesticulating angrily with almost her whole body. "I thought I was the stupid one! You have everything you need to save the tribe. It's all laid out, just like God planned it and you spit it in their face! I've thought about this It’s been several days.”
Farat interjected: "I think it's time for you to leave, Outsider. We don't need—"
"Shut it! If you say one more word I'll kill you, traitor. I'm not in the mood!" Deanna began pacing, shouting and pointing. Her starry black eyes sparkled in the sunlight. Where has Pepper seen this before? She continued: "All you have to do is make his son happy and you get the most powerful ally the gods can send you, and look how you treat him 's! Have you forgotten that he is the son of Androchus? Didn't I tell you not to mess with him? How did I tell you? What did I tell you, Natak? Let me hear it!"
The old devil didn't answer. Instead, he looked like he wished he could sink into the ground and disappear. In fact, most of the demons looked more ashamed than angry, much to Pepper's delight. They should be scolded like this, and Diana's work will be proud of Agurn.
"In fact," she continued to walk around, pointed angrily, and interrupted what she said from time to time. "The more I think, the more stupid you are. Do you want to defeat the heterogeneous family? You know that Peroper can teach你像拉斐利亚人一样打架吗?他知道整套的招式,你们每天早上都看着他练习,却从没要求加入。然后是我。我一个人就能拥有一支军队,但你让我I feel that I am an outsider. I saved you, but you can hardly tolerate me! Why don't you fight for you every moment when you wake up? Are you stupid, or do you just want to extinct? "
Diana's roar stopped for a while, and she breathed a breath.
Natuk noticed that the opportunity was coming, and said in a reconciliation: "Diana, you don't understand, it doesn't mean that our behavior is stupid. We only do what to do, not many. You can take different actions, but I can't take risks freely. I have to bear the burden-- "
"The burden you bear makes you invisible to the answer in front of you, Natuk, your rotten old cattle milk bag! How can you lift you up? Express? "
Perper suddenly remembered where he had seen Diana's eyes before, and her eyes became like this. It's all black, full of white spots like stars. "Palthos ...? He said calmly.
Diana looked at him, nodded slightly, and then jumped up again. "By the way, Patus, how could I forget it?" Perper said that God was a friend, and his family said so. A god. As a friend. In fact. Frankly speaking, if you want to see a tribe of God without ancestors, it looks like this. You should understand the orphans and their usual destiny. I know I have. "
She lowered her head, with a frustrating expression on her face, as if she didn't know what to say. A anger whisper began to sound in the crowd. They quietly talked, the air was full of uneasy buzz. When she raised her head again, staring boldly at everyone, and when she stopped saying anything, her eyes returned to normal, like an ordinary stone woman, white brown.
Little pepper is convinced that he has no imagination of his eyes. This is not a play, because it is too bright here to see such things. Patus touched her, or he was nearby, or he was watching her, or anything else. But if God is nearby, why don't he look at the little peppers? Why did he almost be killed? It was not God to help them fight -that must be a god, because Posos did not do so. He always uses others.
But he can't help wondering, what would it look like if the dark night person did what they should do? If they treat him as a person and treat him as Android’s son? They will still not think about what he thinks at first Let him run away, but they will locked him somewhere instead of locking him alone in the cold cave. Wolf Sca
After they come, they will let him play with their children, and he will make fifty friends. He can sleep with different families every night, and he will see Sheth's parents, telling them
Where is he before he comes.
Then, when Dad finally came, Perper asked him to help them, and Dad would do so. On the contrary, Natak tried to get the sympathy of Perper, but did not show any real feelings, but this did not work. At least until yesterday, Natuk said he should bring the knife and tell me the tent. For a moment, he thought he might be accepted and no longer always felt so painful and lonely.
Then Farate and others decided to kill him.
It can be very, very different. It could have been happy, interesting and safe, but when it was thought of it, it was annoying. The more he imagined that the more he imagined, the more angry he became. He could have a friend. The pain of the wound was poured on the fire, and it became more and more powerful until he couldn't keep quiet.
He jumped up and attracted the attention of many people. He was so angry that he clenched his teeth, hissing hissing sound. He clenched his fist. It feels like his face blushes. It could have been different! He didn't have to suffer that suffering at all!
Perper wanted to yell, but he didn't know what to say, Diana had already said. Maybe Patus himself sent Perper himself, but next time he saw him again, he could complain to God. The night people are here, they are listening. "Dya
A is correct! He shouted loudly, his voice was so dumb.
He opened Natuk's hand, stomped his feet towards the salt circle, and a plan started to form. He walked outside, letting the deceased's whispering and the soft breeze of their fingers brushed him. He felt the kind of courage again, the kind of thing that drove away his fear. What is it? What he will worry about in the future.
The little pepper turned to face the night people, and found that almost everyone was watching him, with concern and curiosity on his face. He shouted loudly as possible: "You have Perper, you treat him worse than treating a dog! Look at his end! Did you see it? Look at my ears! So you guess what! Peri, so now you get the son of Andrex! "
He stretched his toes into the small ditch, and all the salt was there to form a circle. A cruel smile on his face, although the cold air licked his injured ears, making his eyes moist again.
The dark night screamed in unison, and five hundred people rushed to him to stop him.
But he stabilized his feet, and they stopped and realized that they had a chance. As long as you kick gently, the circle disappears. That ghost can come in, right? It must be like this, otherwise they won't jump like that.
Farate and Nutuk are close to the closest, only five steps. Farat held his knife with both hands, Nutuk stretched out his arms and was ready to catch him.
"Your fate is in the hands of a person who doesn't care about you, Natuk?" Not very good, right! Little pepper said.
"Little peppers, please, calm down. See how I treat your wounds? We are not your enemy." Natuk begged. He still looked as pitiful and failed as before, and a person looked at his last efforts.
"No, the little peppers are gone. Remember? You drove the little pepper away, so I'm now the son of Android!"
Fara pointed at one of the knives and said, "Child! If you dare to move a grain of salt, I chop you. Do you understand?"
Perper looked at him angrily. Farate did not kill him. "Diana, please come over?" But don't be too close. "
Diana stepped forward, holding Xie Si in her arms. Her parents tried to pull the boy away, but she shrugged and nodded to them, and they were soft -hearted. She stopped a little farther behind Fara and leaned back.
"You owe my family alone, Diana.
d
Okles helps you, feed you and sheth, and even make that coat for him. Then the prince and his people came, Dad protected you, and then you abandoned us. Remember? Do you remember what you said? You say that Dad is a murderer and you don't want to let Sedi be by his side. You say that Dad is a fool. But he is not! "Perper crossed his arms, making him look more noble, although this would stretch the stitching on the back a little, let him frown slightly. In order to cover up, he tried to wrinkle like his father. He frowned.
"Little pepper, what are you doing?" She asked softly. "I can't let you hurt her."
"I asked you a question first!" Do you remember? "Pepper said. Why is Dad still standing now? Probably this is the case.
"I remember," she said, the voice was still calm.
"When the prince wants to take the Xie Si back, Dad protects you, but you just leave after saying a bunch of mean words, and then see what happened to us!"
"I know I made a mistake, Perper. There are a lot. What do you want to say? She said, her voice loses gentleness.
"Farate and Koma agreed to kill me and threw my body in the snow. Koma was dead, so as the son of Andrekles, I swear: If you killed Farat, our family Will forgive you, just now. "
The night people were panting together, everyone inhaled at the same time, and their voice was enough to let the little peppers hear. Diana blinked, then said a few words to Sheis, and then put him down. He ran back to his parents, and his parents surrounded him to protect him.
Farate's anger disappeared. His mouth opened slightly, his tip of his knife reached the ground, and he turned his head to look at Diana. The woman who helped Perper's arms and stitches stepped forward and begged: "Please, don't be my husband! Please, don't do this! I helped you!"
Perper paused and was almost scared. He didn't know that Farad had a wife, and he didn't know it was her. But this is the problem, isn't it? They have never accepted him. And Dad will not check whether the person he killed by him has a family first. He pressed the pity of his heart as much as possible in his heart, saying, "Perper will care. But A
d
Okles's son did not. Can't let my enemy alive. so terrible. "
Diana said, still whispered softly, "Perper, what's going on? What are you planning?"
"I am doing what Dad will do. Farate will kill me as soon as I have a chance."
"This is too crazy. This is wrong, Perper. Please, stop here. Things will still be solved."
"Have I said to argue?" Did I say to kill Fara? "
Diana swallowed and moved her feet nervously. She glanced at the great war leader, and their eyes met. Dead calm appeared in the crowd. Even the evil ghost looked quietly.
After a while, Fara opened her eyes wide. He wanted to turn around, but did not stand firm and fell to the ground. After a while, the little pepper noticed that the red blood spit out from the man's neck. This is a deep wound, so deep enough to cut off all blood flowing to the brain, making him fainting immediately. Dad once explained what was going on when killing a sheep.
Natuk wiped a knife on Fara's clothes, and then the night talent responded to what they saw. Many of them screamed in horror. Jeg fell on her husband, turned him over, trying to stop bleeding with his hands. But it's too late -the river water has almost stopped. It spreads into a large pool on the ground, almost as big as one person.
Although Perper had seen such things before, it was too close to him, and he felt disgusting. Even if Koma happened. He felt that his face became pale and then turned green, but he felt like a heavy hand on his shoulder, making him stabilize, although there was nothing there.
The elders of the dark night were calm and indifferent to Perper's gaze, still holding a knife in their hands. He spoke, although the sound was not loud -loud enough to make people hear, that's all. "I give you this person's blood. Kitten, you want to spare us, what else do we have to give you?"
When everyone is quietly listening, the hustle and bustle of fear disappears. Some people repeat the words of the elderly to those who did not hear. It seems that everyone has prepared the answer. The little pepper forced his mind to calm down and said, "You must come to help me find my dad, and then you must help him save it from the king. I heard the king's army, so I already know. I know the army is looking for him. You don’t think he can escape, and you can't find me? "
"We can't fight with the army of the king. If we can, we will not be in the current situation."
"Well, if you do n’t even try it, I will kick off the salt now, and then who will not be taken away by the shadow, who I come to see at night." This is the last chance for you to survive as a nation. "
Natuk does not look better than just now. He was still sad and frustrated. He looked like his flesh hanging only on the horns of his bones. His eyes were dark because of tiredness, but now Perper discovered a kind of dangerous anger. Where does his weak arm cut off Fara's throat? Farate is the tallest and strongest person in the tribe.
"What about our children?"
"Diana will protect Seshe. I don't know others, right? So this is not my problem. Unless you vowed to help me save Andlox."
The dark night person leaned unconsciously and wanted to see what Natak would do. The pressure at this moment was almost suffocating. Diana opened her arms and put on a very relaxed posture, but she was actually ready. The little pepper recognized it. Dad taught him something similar.
Natak deliberately put the knife back into the belt. "Kitten, I swear not to kill you, count you luck."
"Elderly, you can't live." Diana said.
"Maybe. I know what you don't know. Perper, your requirements are impossible. We cannot leave the secret club, unless the evil spirits are no longer vicious, unless you want to give us a curse to resist them. You can leave. If you drag us into the war, then we are over. I prefer to deal with those who turn around and let me touch my luck. Kick off the salt and break it with us. "Natak's words were calm and cold.
Perper felt pale his face, and fear caught him again. He has always been convinced that this can be successful. What should he do now? He almost kicked the salt at that time, but he imagined that they looked crazy in front of him, and then ... and then they all came to him. He couldn't even beat one, what about 500? Can he escape in time and hid?
He looked at Diana and wanted her to suggest what he should do, and was almost panicked, but she looked like she was biting her lips because she thought too much. His thoughts transferred from her to Hila, from Hillars to those who were trapped under the rocks, and he realized that there was another thing to say.
"Everyone is like a precious fur and cannot be removed," Pipper said. "I thought you couldn't make a person anymore. If the woman who had just brought her father with her father returned, do I think she is Atia? She, if she is one of the dead, and you I can never find where the children are? "
Diana said: "Natak, Pipper is still a child. You should negotiate with his father, but he is not there. So I will help Perper. First of all, we will help you make amulets for everyone. Right?"
"Of course. We don't have enough time to make so many games."
"Very good. I will give you a price. Come with me and the little pepper to help him find his father. Along the way, as long as we are close to foreign people, no matter how much, I will help you kill them. You can take them away. We weapons and horses, and any armor, as long as you can wear. I think you can wear their locks. When we find Android, you can bargain with him in person. "
Natak heard it and looked very upset. He said: "Young women, I know you are very high, but you should not say that you have killed any heterogeneous creatures we have encountered."
"I am doing."
Xiao Chili said, "Dad hates the demon. He hates the dark nightmen. But he hates not the dark nightman, but the crazy car. So come to tell him. He doesn't know that they are made of children. If you don't like it, he will want to stop the king forever. "
"If he chose to kill us as you threatened?" Natuk said. He seemed more and more angry.
"He won't," Said the pepper.
"Why not? Why did he suddenly change his mind? Natak said.
"Because I don't--" Peroper couldn't speak for a while, and had to clearly clear his throat. He could feel the result of this sentence approaching him quietly from behind. "Because I conquered you, this is my decision."
Natuk laughed, but it was a cold and unpleasant voice. Several other night people grinned; several people laughed. They don't seem to feel funny. "When did you do it?" I won't bow to a child! "As the elder said, he waved his arms strongly and did a cutting action. Perper could see the real flame from his eyes. Old pride.
The little pepper almost panicked again. He almost took a step back and avoided the anger of the elder; only if he was indecisive can he stand firmly.
"Go away, kitten!" You have always been our curse. We won't help you, now we won't, we won't! Leave us in the future, let's go! Natak shouted.
But Perper knew he couldn't. He couldn't find his father alone, and he couldn't find it with Diana. If he is not with the dark nightman, the wolf scar may never find him anymore. He racked his brain and wanted to find an answer, but he didn't expect anything except fear. Everything collapsed.
From the Yu Guang in the corner of his eyes, he seemed to see a figure in the wind, as if he was a soldier among the dad's family, tall and strong, holding a shield and a spear. Next to him was another person, and another person crossed him. Perper turned around and looked at nothing, but he could feel something in his heart began to give him strength, just like a comfortable hand, on his shadow, not his body. He knows what he should do. He tried to speak, over and over again. But no success. There is only one thing left.
Perper took a deep breath and forced herself to calm down. "However, I really conquered you. Am I not?"
Natak said: "No, kid, you can't. You can't. Let's go." It sounded like a threat.
"Yes, I saw it. I conquered you now," said Andrekleus's son. He kicked salt. Suddenly, only the breathing of the dark nightman and the open eyes. In the empty emptiness, the shadow's whispering whispering was screaming. Perper felt that they rushed from him countlessly and rushed towards the demons. Then there was a chaos.
