Chapter 23; Trust

Joe had a great day. Going clothes shopping with Maggie in the morning was such an eye-opening experience. It reminded him that his girlfriend was very beautiful. He has not forgotten. Even he's not that stupid. However, he was so used to her beautiful looks and stylish figure that he took it for granted and didn't really think about them. They were now at the forefront of his mind, making it difficult to focus on anything other than Maggie whenever she was in the room. This wasn't a problem at all, because Joe had nothing important to do.

At some point, though, he came to realize that staring intently at a girl's face while she was doing her brain work was rude and probably a little creepy. He knew very well that she didn't mind this attitude, but he still felt a little embarrassed. Doubts begin to form within him as he questions whether he is worthy of her, or if he is worthy of this incredible good fortune. Not just the house or her appearance, but her personality. In a relentless battle of logic, Maggie shows repeatedly that she really cares about him. Of course, this made Joe very happy, but also a little guilty.

Aware of his doubts, the girl slowly opened her eyes and sat in her usual position on the edge of the bed.

"What's the matter, Joe?"

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"Your facial microexpressions indicate that you are experiencing some internal conflict."

Just as Joe has a pretty good understanding of Maggie's character, so does vice versa. She didn't need to read his mind to know what he was worried about. Not that she had a habit of prying into his thoughts or anything. If nothing else, that would be rude.

"Oh. Nothing to worry about," he dodged the question. "I can't believe I'm such a good jam dodger." "

The girl tilted her head in confusion, and Azgodkaral poked its head out of her hair, twisting its small body into the shape of a question mark.

"How did you become a shortbread cookie filled with jam?"

"Well...I...don't know what cookies, Maggie." It was just me and the boys calling each other lucky bastards. From some old fantasy game. "

"I understand," her eyes sparkled with understanding. "and i need jammy dodge now

s. "

"You mean cookies?"

"Yes. I think they would go well with Jeeves' tea."

"Oh. That does sound good. Want me to go to the store and buy some?"

He had never heard of this kind of biscuit before, but the convenience store on the street had a variety of pastries and snacks. Even if they don't have a particular jam dodger, he's sure to find something close enough. Alternatively, he could have a robot butler take care of it, but the talking device isn't good at anything that requires thinking.

"I'd appreciate it," she smiled happily.

"Starberry flavor, right?"

"undoubtedly".

Joe stood up, put on his new jacket, and went about his mission with a smile of his own. It felt good to do something for his girlfriend, even if it was a small gesture. As he rode the elevator down, he realized the folly of his worries. It would be foolish to think he wasn't good enough for Maggie after that unforgettable first kiss showed how much he meant to her. Idle thoughts had a way of turning ugly for no apparent reason, so he decided to find something else to do once he got back instead of staring blankly at the girl's face.

As he stepped out of the elevator and walked through the relatively large lobby of the skyscraper, Joe was surprised to see Agent Johnson. In fact, it was more accurately her state that surprised him. She was wearing her uniform as usual, but her coveralls were so dirty that two guard drones were flying around her feet. Every time the woman hits her forehead against the wall, these little spider-like robots frantically pick up the dirt and dried mud that falls off her body. By the way, she's been doing this every two or three seconds for the past five minutes.

"AJ?" he called to her. "Are you okay?"

The tainted soldier stopped her skull pounding and looked at Joe with a look on her face that suggested she wasn't actually okay.

"I want to live," she said dryly.

"No, seriously, what's going on? You look bad." in many aspects. "

Although she was physically and mentally exhausted, she couldn't just deny Joe's genuine concern. She sighed and slumped against the wall, forcing the guarding drone to slink away in panic.

"I can't stand that witch anymore. Seriously, what's going on with her? She doesn't play the tough soldier anymore.

"Well, she can be a bit harsh sometimes-"

"How dare you say she means well!" AJ snapped. "This is abuse! Bullying! Torture! Nothing else!"

"Wow! Easy now. Why don't you stand up and tell me what's got you so nervous?"

"It's this damn thing!"

she yelled, throwing things down the empty hall. It was a stone the size of a fist, rolling around on the floor, making a clattering sound. Joe couldn't read it, but it said "Mahrasrak Watchers" written on it in an alien language. AJ couldn't read it, but she thought it was the stone she deserved because the other two stones she found said "Maggie" and "Mags Oh" in plain English. It was rather irritating to realize that she was dealing with not one, but two unannounced decoys. Her anger quickly turned to panic when she saw one of the janitor robots scurrying towards the filthy thing, no doubt intending to take it somewhere. Luckily, she telepathically pulled the stone out of it.

Jo leaned over and looked closely at the stone in her hand, noticing the alien writing. He had no idea what the symbols meant, but they looked familiar and he recognized them as Maggie's work. Presumably, he realizes that she must have sent AJ to find the stone, which judging from her dirty exhaustion, is buried somewhere in a nearby park. Soldier's frustration makes more sense, but her outburst still seems like an overreaction. The assignment seemed no more strenuous than usual.

Incidentally, this also means that, to some extent, he accepts "laborious" as "ordinary."

"Ah," he suddenly realized. "Well, okay, I think I understand now."

"What's gained? The woman glared at him.

"Maggie's been too harsh on you. I'm going to talk to her when I get back, so why don't you go up there and get yourself cleaned up."

He expected AJ to smile, or sigh in relief, or something like that.

"Ughhh..."

What he heard was a cry, so painful that he almost thought she was passing a kidney stone or something.

"What? You don't want me to do that?" he asked confused.

"No. I appreciate it, but I can't take the stairs. Sorry, no, I mean, I have to take the stairs."

"...Do we have stairs?"

The soldier blinked in disbelief, then pointed to a small glass door at the back of the hall, next to the elevator. Behind it a depressing set of steps can be seen.

"Give me a breadbox, we have stairs!" he exclaimed, but his surprise quickly turned to horror. "Wait a minute, there are more than a hundred floors from here to the apartment!" Do you really want to climb that high?"

"I really didn't want to, but I had no choice. I was told that I couldn't use any mechanical or electronic equipment until I returned this stupid thing." She shook the rock for emphasis.

"No way. Did you misunderstand Maggie's instructions? You could at least take the elevator."

"I specifically asked if I could. Guess what she said?"

Joe took a deep breath and reached out to AJ.

"Come on, this floor is no lady's place."

She snorted a laugh. The short man offered to help her get back on her feet? Well, he meant well, so she graciously accepted the gesture and let him do his best to help her up. However, he didn't let go and dragged her to the back of the hall. AJ followed at first, but stopped when she realized they were heading toward the elevator.

"What do you think you are doing?"

"I'm going to take you to see Maggie," he said. "It's time you and I have a conversation about the way she treats you."

"Are you crazy? Do you know how stupid this is?"

"It might be stupid, but it's the right thing to do."

“I could lose my job! Or worse!”

"I'm pretty sure climbing stairs all day is not part of your job."

"No, but obeying orders is, and my job is to cooperate with that witch as much as possible."

“Cooperation goes both ways, doesn’t it?”

"You - that - but -"

Agent Johnson didn't know how to respond, mostly because Joe had a point. What she was experiencing, at least from her perspective, was a kind of borderline servitude.

"It's going to be okay, trust me," he reassured her. "Maggie is softer than you think."

"I highly doubt it."

"And this isn't just about you. It's about her. She's been acting... off lately."

Joe could not tell what it was, but it seemed to him that the girl seemed to be going backwards rather than forwards, as far as human nature was concerned. She still has a smile and cosmic butterflies when it's just the two of them, but her attitude towards others is strangely harsh and harsh. Just today she got mad at "Jelly" the clothes shop clerk for no apparent reason, and then acted strangely suspicious of the lady selling fish and chips. In some ways, she felt like she was back to where she was a month ago, when she was still struggling to understand most human emotions. Something must have happened in the past few days to cause this, but Joe couldn't think of anything to justify such a negative change.

"Okay, let's get started." AJ conceded.

She knows better than anyone that she won't last long if the "experiment" continues to increase in severity. Despite her reservations, sooner or later something had to be done, and this was the perfect opportunity. In addition, she also planned to ask Qiao to comfort the students in Class 3 for her. Last but not least, she felt like she was going to puke if she saw that damn stairwell again. When Joe found her, she was banging her head against the wall, which is why she was up for the challenge.

"For the record, I still think this is a stupid idea," she added.

"Of course it is. I figured it out."

AJ laughed again and followed him into the elevator. On the way up, things got a little awkward as they both realized the soldier reeked of sweat and dirt. Joe tried not to take it seriously, but he wasn't used to the stench and ended up coughing once or twice. This in turn made Johnson more self-conscious.

"That jacket looks great on you, by the way." She tried to distract him.

"Thanks. I just figured it out, actually." He wisely avoided mentioning Maggie.

"Really? From where?"

"A place called Irving, Irving & Irving, in a shopping mall with two skyscrapers downstairs"

"You mean the one with the big blue diamond sign?"

"Yes."

"Yeah. That's what it's about."

"you do not know?"

"Well, I'm not familiar with this area yet."

"very good."

"So, what kind of clothes does this store sell?"

"All types. Clothing, casual wear, swimwear, formal wear - you name it, they have it."

"Yeah. Good to know that."

AJ has given up on keeping appointments on time. Because of all the delays she put herself through, she only had about an hour before Maloney came to pick her up. Even if she didn't have to climb those stupid stairs, she wouldn't have enough time to be fully prepared. If she hadn't been banned from using any electronics, she would have canceled it. However, if a clothing store is that close, there's a good chance she'll just make it through, depending on the outcome of this confrontation.

Unfortunately, it didn't start well. As soon as Joe and AJ entered the apartment, the hostess came out to greet them in the hallway. The impassive expression on her face showed that she was angry.

"Maggie, we have to talk," the man said seriously.

"About what?" She narrowed her eyes at him.

"Your behavior these days. It worries me a lot. Also, I think you should be less disciplined with AJ."

"I understand," her expression relaxed a little. "I'd be happy to hear you out, but I must fulfill my obligations first."

The girl raised a finger and pointed at both of them, then with the smallest movement she pointed to her left hand. The ginger woman behind Joe immediately responded by slamming into the wall. The force of the impact forced the air from her lungs, and the continued pressure made it difficult to breathe. The man looked at her and Maggie with almost crazy disbelief. While he expected things to get a little dangerous, he didn't expect the situation to immediately turn violent.

"Damn it, Maggie!" What's--Hey! Let me go!"

Joe's complaints were cut off as he was hoisted into the air and floated outside the front door, away from the other two. Maggie held onto him tightly, keeping him out of the way, but not enough to do any harm.

"This isn't like you, Maggie!" he pleaded.

"Agent Johnson blatantly, willingly and willfully ignored my instructions," she replied coldly. "I was just doing my job."

The defendant could do nothing but giggle incoherently under the strain of his third-level telekinesis. She desperately tried to resist, but the sudden turn of events confused her thoughts and made it impossible to concentrate. The little psychic power she could muster was just enough to prevent herself from being crushed. Breaking free was impossible.

"But the instructions you gave her are totally crazy!" Joe yelled toward the front door. "At first I thought AJ was exaggerating when she said you bullied her, but this is worse! Seriously! I don't know what's wrong with you, but this isn't you!"

His attempts to convince the girl backfired, causing her calm expression to suddenly turn into an annoyed frown and her grip on the psyker tightened.

"How audacious of you to think you know the real me," she scoffed, eyes fixed on the psyker.

"Okay! I admit, the whole cosmic entity thing is too hard for me to understand! But, I know the girl I fell in love with would never inflict such senseless cruelty on another human being!"

This sentence hurt her deeply. She closed her eyes tightly and gritted her teeth. Her head snapped towards Joe, an angry look on her face, much sterner than ever before.

"I don't like the way she looks at you!"

Joe understood this, and his face changed into seven different expressions.

"Are you...jealous of AJ?"

"Yes, I am. I'm fully aware of how illogical this is, but I still can't control how I feel. Whenever I see you two together, I feel contempt. Despite my best efforts, It’s still hard to control those emotions.”

In fact, she had no intention of forcing the agent to climb the stairs. When she gave the order, her words were that Johnson would not be allowed to use any electronic devices that would help her find the rocks. This implicitly excludes elevators, since vertical movement is irrelevant to the task at hand. However, when the woman asks for clarification on the matter, Maggie's jealous side temporarily takes over and the elevator is actually banned. The girl never broke her promise, so there was nothing she could do, although she later realized she was being too harsh on the psyker.

She actually wanted to apologize, but seeing AJ walk in with Joe made her resentment surge, and as she said, she struggled to control it.

"It's not that," the struggling soldier managed to say.

"Y-yeah! What did she say! We're just friends! Man has her back.

"You're friends now, but what about in a month? Or a year? People are growing on you, Joe." Like an invading flesh-eating fungus, you will inevitably end up in her heart!"

The man was hurt by those words. The disturbing, slightly insulting nature of Maggie's metaphor hurts more than the meaning behind it.

"So you don't trust me, do you?" he pressed.

"I...no, no," her voice turned sad. "You are gullible, optimistic, and naive. You let someone like me into your life and thoughts so easily, and I will be forever grateful for that. At the same time, this is exactly why another person might slip in and replace me , regardless of my intentions.”

As usual, it's hard to argue with her assessment. This doesn't come from too many superfluous soap operas, but from her growing understanding of how fickle the human heart can be. People change over time, and so do their relationships. Friends forget each other, enemies forgive each other, lovers grow apart, and acquaintances grow closer. It doesn't always happen like this, but it happens often. There is a strong connection between Joe and Maggie at this moment, which is exactly why the girl is worried about what will happen.

Men can only guess at the depth and severity of her worries. Luckily, he was good at reading between the lines of her words and managed to get the gist of it.

"Then give me a chance. If you don't let me prove myself, how can you say you believe me or not? It sounds like you decide some things about me yourself. Didn't you say you won't do it again?" Doing this kind of thing?”

Joe knew how to argue with Maggie. Despite her efforts to become more human, she is ultimately a creature of logic who insists on her "obligations" above all else. One of them is to involve Joe in all decisions that affect them both, which she promises to do after she unilaterally chooses to have them live in the apartment together. It's a bit doubtful whether her attitude towards Joe's trustworthiness has any bearing on this. The guy was grasping at straws, and he knew it.

"...It seems I made a mistake."

Fortunately, the girl seemed convinced by this argument.

"Very well, Joe Mulligan. I'm going to ask you to prove your ability to remain loyal without my supervision."

She let go of the man, loosening her grip on the psyker.

"So you're not jealous anymore?" he asked cautiously.

"Of course I am. Like I said, I can't help my feelings," she frowned. "I can only apologize and ask for forgiveness."

"That's...fair, I guess. But if that's the case, shouldn't you give up on AJ?"

The woman can breathe freely now, but she is still pinned to the wall.

"Why should I do this?" the girl asked.

"No...I mean, you just said-"

"That's another thing," she interrupted. "I acknowledge that my personal feelings led me to treat her unfairly, but Agent Johnson's failure to meet her obligations is her own responsibility. The appropriate punishment must be meted out."

"What kind of punishment?" the woman asked warily.

"By taking the elevator, you save approximately 130 minutes of vertical travel. The same amount of time spent on telekinesis levitation would be enough."

AJ felt it was unfair for Maggie to admit she was wrong, especially since it meant she would definitely miss the date. This is regrettable, but not the end of the world. Officer Maloney certainly wouldn't mind rescheduling. The problem was, doing it so late made a bad impression, especially since the psyker had only her own pettiness to blame. Actually, no, that's not true. Maggie was the cause of all her recent misfortunes. Ultimately, there were worse punishments than two hours of confinement, so she decided not to push this particular issue.

However, there was one more thing that the annoyed soldier couldn't help but mention.

"But why do you keep riding my ass?" I don't mean today, but in general. "

"I don't know what you're talking about, Agent Johnson."

"You've been giving me trouble ever since we spied on you. Starting with those winks that no one could see, and then you asking me to move in with you so you could let me do these ridiculous experiments." Seriously, you can't tell me that counting grains of sand in an hourglass or whittling wood into toothpicks is to help my psychic abilities. "

It's ridiculous to think that jealousy is the root cause of all harassment, when AJ and Joe didn't even exchange a word until after the "Pact of Doom" had been signed.

"Actually," Maggie scolded her. "I realize that your greatest flaw as a psyker is your narrow way of thinking. All the tasks I give you would be trivial if you used telekinesis or telekinesis, but you stubbornly insist on using only physical means."

That kind of thinking isn't AJ's fault. It was actually something that was ingrained in her mind as a safety measure for the supernatural expulsion agency. All power is corrupted, and the power of the psionic is unlike any other. Allowing them to show off their talents in their daily lives may lead them to develop a dangerous notion that they are somehow superior to other humans and that they deserve to be in power. Because of this tendency, the CIA wants to prevent their psychological operators from defecting, so it actively discourages them from using their capabilities carelessly. It instills in them the idea that, except in combat situations, psionics should only be used as a last resort after all other means have been exhausted. Agent Johnson proved to be exceptionally gifted at a young age, which is why her coaches made sure to drill this mentality into her head. As a result, she became a good, obedient, and hard-working soldier, but it also made her very stubborn in some ways.

“My experiments are about broadening the way you think,” Maggie added.

"Couldn't you have told me earlier?!" AJ raised his voice.

"You must have your own revelation in order for it to have proper meaning. Doing anything other than subtly guiding you toward enlightenment would do you a great disservice."

The fact that this woman found the stone in less than a day shows that this unspoken lesson has begun to sink in, which is why Maggie is telling her all this now. If she had known about Maloney's involvement she would have changed her story. However, she doesn't know everything. She mistakenly believed that everything was going according to plan, so she became complacent. Her "disciples" did not take kindly to this attitude.

“What’s up with those damn winks? What’s the point of that?!”

The girl's proud smile became even brighter, AJ hadn't seen her giggle in a long time. For the first few weeks, she always had that shit-eating smile on her face. She said loudly: "You are so pitiful and adorable."

"I think your flustered reaction to my prodding is the funniest thing."

In other words, as Johnson suspected, she enjoyed watching her squirm. The agent didn’t handle this confirmation well. If the statement had been said in a different way, or in a more friendly context, she might have taken it in stride, perhaps with a smug “I knew it! "That's not what happened. AJ was drained mentally, physically and emotionally. Her brain and bones ached from the unwarranted telekinesis attack she had just received, and her mind was clouded by all the frustration she had accumulated on this mission. This innocent-looking yet obviously taunting admission was nothing compared to all the pressure she was under, but it was enough.

This was the metaphorical straw that sent Agent Johnson into a rage.

"woman!"

AJ's foul-mouthed talk was punctuated by a force that freed her from Maggie's grasp, nearly knocking down the wall in the process. She pounced on the momentarily dazed girl and punched her in the face with her right hand, causing her fist to hit an invisible wall hard. A second later a torrent of concentrated anger followed. The psychic energy penetrated the barrier and hit Maggie, knocking her to the other side of the corridor. The excessive force causes the building to shake, emitting an ominous rumble and shattering decorative furniture and floor tiles. Joe tried to run in and stop the raging psychic, but an invisible hand slammed the front door shut, locking him out of what was about to happen.

"I've had enough of you smug bastard!"

The soldier completely lost his mind and grabbed Maggie by the shoulders. Her built up frustration burst out again with great force, knocking them both into the living room. Then AJ kicked the girl hard in the stomach with his knee, sending her flying instantly, and then backhandedly punched the girl in the face. The telepathic energy that pervaded the blow sent the girl tumbling across the room until she crashed into the giant television screen, shattering it in spectacular fashion.

The sound of shattering glass and flying sparks instantly brought the furious psyker back to consciousness. She gasped, unable to believe what just happened. Not just her lashing out, but the fact that she can toss a Level 3 entity around like a ragdoll, even though it does resist. Her chaotic thoughts came to an abrupt end when she saw Maggie standing up, covered in cuts and bruises, but still with that damn stupid smile on her lips.

"Is this your best work?"

This biting taunt was enough to ignite the embers of AJ's anger.

"Pretentious sycophant!"

Verbal abuse and psychic energy flowed freely as she slammed Maggie into the wall from the side.

"Your tits are fake and your personality is bullshit"

Her next attack shattered all that, sending the girl tumbling down into the adjoining bedroom and the entire floor shaking ominously again. The soldier's output was so high that it alarmed both herself and the military personnel monitoring her implant's readings.

“Don’t watch me pee! I can tell!”

Although the idea seemed silly, pouring her frustration, resentment, and anger into her telekinesis allowed her to wield even greater powers than usual. She further proves this by slamming Maggie to the floor with an invisible hammer roughly the size and weight of an overloaded garbage truck.

"Don't be so complacent about everything, you cosmic generalist!"

AJ didn't know how this happened. In fact, it went against everything she'd learned at the academy.

“Stop saying those big words! They don’t make you sound smart!”

A clear and focused mind is necessary to display psionic abilities with any degree of power or control. That's what she was told, and so far, it's worked for her.

“Someone ate the Starberry Pie I left in the refrigerator! I know it was you!”

However, AJ is quickly reminded of another aspect of her psychic powers when she throws Maggie out of the window. That is spiritual feedback. Having put in so much energy in such a short period of time made her feel more withdrawn than she had ever felt before. Her vision darkened, her ears screamed madly, her muscles tightened involuntarily, and her stomach felt like it was doing a backflip. She was suffering from a range of very unpleasant symptoms from head to toe, but the most obvious was that her brain was in danger of leaking out of her ears and nose into her skull. The ensuing waves of pain caused the woman to fall to the ground, screaming in agony and clutching the top of her head. Such an extreme reaction would most likely kill her at worst and leave her brain damaged at best.

AJ's mental stress began to diminish rapidly. It and all her other aches and pains gave way to another, far less unpleasant sensation. Her tortured head rested against something that was both cool and warm, yet undeniably soft at the same time. This can't be the floor. As her vision gradually returned, it became apparent that her skull lay on the pale skin of Maggie's thigh, exposed as her clothes were torn to shreds. One of the girl's hands gently caressed the woman's forehead, while the other gently grasped her skull. A friendly smile hung on her thin lips, and a warm light seemed to radiate from her rotating eyes.

"Welcome, Sarah Johnson," she said quietly, "to the moment of your revelation."

The woman's eyes flicked between Maggie and the Maggie-shaped hole in the shatterproof glass.

"Don't have anything to do with me," the girl reassured her. "To incapacitate me, even in a weakened state, would take more than just losing consciousness."

"Defe

e-whatsit?”

"Throw out a window. Formal. The act of throwing someone out of a window."

AJ was surprised to find a word for this, but that wasn't the only shocking news she'd gotten in the past few minutes.

"That's the reason for all this abuse and harassment, isn't it?" she asked weakly.

"So."

"Damn it. I'll never hear the end of it."

The woman could do nothing but complain in defeat. She felt like she was being played like a fiddle, and what made her even more unhappy was that it was all orchestrated by a cosmic entity that couldn't deceive. In fact, Maggie had never lied to her once. She simply remains silent about the true nature of her experiments and lets AJ's biases and personality do the rest. This behavior clearly goes against the laws of the universe that keep Level 3 students brutally honest, but the "observance of duty" excuse is powerful.

As for the outcome, the agent wasn't sure what to make of it. Somehow, she subconsciously taps into her anger and hatred in order to use them as weapons. AJ's thoughts wandered to two rogue psykers she encountered in the past. Both maniacs demonstrated immense strength despite having no formal training or brain implants. Before she just thought their extraordinary talents were driving them crazy, but now she thinks it might be the other way around. If abandoning reason and giving in to her instincts gave her this much of a push, then breaking away from the abyss entirely would surely have even more startling results.

Of course, she doesn't intend to be a raving lunatic whose grasp on reality is tenuous at best. She was also in no position to analyze her emotional outbursts in depth. She'll leave it to those monitoring her condition to figure out the exact science and mechanisms behind the phenomenon. At the moment, she just held back the feeling of venting her anger, hoping that she could consciously vent it again. Her heart calmed down again and she stood up. Maggie gracefully suppressed the psychic feedback, and the only negative effects AJ felt were brief shortness of breath and a burst of exhaustion.

However, she had a hunch that her wallet wouldn't be able to withstand the long-term consequences of her actions. Looking around and seeing the devastation she left in her wake, the soldier had an ominous feeling that all the damage she had caused would be paid for by her wages. Considering the relative luxury and decoration of the apartment, it is likely that she would have to remain in Her Majesty's service until the age of 510 to pay off the money.

"I'm sorry for the mess," she muttered.

"Well, yes," Maggie said, a little confused. "Now that you mention it, the property damage was more than I expected, just like you expected. I will make it right."

AJ felt a familiar tingling in her brain, telling her there was a spike in psychic activity in the area. Facing the person in front of her, she wisely closed her eyes, turned and left Class Three. She heard all kinds of scrapes, bangs, bangs, and clangs, with occasional bursts of air and debris hitting her. This went on for nearly a minute before it completely calmed down.

"Do."

When Psionic opened her eyes again, she saw that the bedroom had been reassembled as if nothing had happened. She didn't even need to look at the other rooms to be sure they were getting roughly the same treatment.

"So, uh, what now?" she asked warily.

"Your first phase of training has been completed. I will give you three days to fully recover, after which we will continue with the second phase of treatment."

"Hey. That's great," she shouted. "Let me guess, a more boring, dull task?"

"I have no right to discuss my plans with you. Knowing them would make them less effective," Maggie said bluntly.

"Can you at least tell me you won't bother me anymore?"

"I can indeed confirm that phase two will not have me standing on your back, either metaphorically or literally."

"That...I hope it's a good thing."

This strange wording made AJ suspicious, but she wasn't about to nitpick the gift. Whatever "Phase Two" entailed, she was free for the next few days, free immediately, in fact. This included the next few hours, which meant she still had a chance to keep her appointment. She would be exhausted and fighting the urge to pass out, but she was confident she could make it through. She just needed a little help in preparation, and she had a hunch that her classmates in Class 3 would be willing to help.

"So, I need a favor from you. No deal or agreement, just a one-sided request."

"At least I heard you out," Maggie said, smiling.

"You don't happen to have a dress you can lend me, right?"

"I do have a dress you can wear, even though it doesn't quite fit your breasts."

AJ's eyes twitched at the inadvertent attack on her bust, but she pushed down the stimulation. Now it is neither the time to perform nor the place to perform. In addition, she later regarded it as "ammunition".

"So, can I ask you to transform it and make it more fit?" This is an emergency. "

McGee frowned confused.

"What urgent situations need to wear formal clothes?"

"I ... actually have a date." About 50 minutes later. Police Officer Marali took me to see Leonardo Da Pingqi, and I had to dress like a role. "

The girl widened in surprise, indicating that she didn't know anything. Then she raised one hand and covered her mouth awkwardly because she noticed what AJ put down the subtle way. If Maggie has a man to occupy her thoughts, she doesn't have to be jealous of the spiritual person. This is an obvious solution, and she really felt sad for herself. Having said that, she didn't intend to let this opportunity slip away. Therefore, she fully supports the lady. The required clothes were modified accordingly, and it was handed over in less than a minute. AJ took it into the bathroom, locked himself inside, and started cleaning.

At this time, Maggie finally asked Qiao to enter the apartment.

"What happened?! Are you okay?!"

That person's panic is understandable. Since this place is soundproof, he didn't hear too much from the outside, but he still felt some worrying tremor.

"Thank you for your concern, but it's not necessary," she said usual.

"No need! Look at you!"

Although Maggie repaired her casual outfit, many wounds and bruises were visible in the cracks on her face and thighs. Joe can immediately see that although the interior of the apartment looks complete, things have become very violent.

"These wounds can be ignored, and it is easy to repair. I will take care of them right away."

She stepped forward and pulled the panic man into a warm kiss. He did not resist, but the sudden move made his arm shake. The man felt that something flowed out of his throat and flowed into Maggie's body. A few seconds later, when she pulled back, she had completely cured, and Joe was just a little dizzy. He suddenly found that he wanted Maggie to eat more cold food, but he drove this suspicious idea away, instead considering a more urgent question.

"Where is AJ?!"

"She is cleaning and ready to go to the appointment."

"She ... what?"

"She is cleaning and preparing for dating," McGee repeatedly repeatedly.

"... Is it Police and Maloni?"

"Do you know this?" The girl blinked in surprise.

"No, just guess."

He thought that the person that both sides knew, and the policeman was undoubtedly the most suitable single man in these people. It is a bit strange that although they became violent last time, they still decided to go out together. It is not to say that Qiao Qiao commented on a strange way of starting a romantic relationship. He just wanted to know if AJ made friends like this. Of course, this is a stupid idea.

However, from that day, the happiness and optimism beside McGee seemed to be the case.
