On a mountaintop somewhere above the clouds, a hero and a villain are having a great battle.
Or about to start - it hasn't started yet. First, one has to have time for a monologue or something. Without these, it wouldn't be a real showdown.
Just like that, the level 60 hero Jerome stared into the eyes of a villain and shuddered.
"What did you just say?" he asked, still in disbelief at what he had just heard.
The villain, a red-skinned orange jade demon with a red ruby beard, laughed, his panic making his eyes sparkle. "Do I really need to repeat myself?" the demon gestured loudly to himself. "I brewed 666 cups of tea with the same tea bag, gained the power of 'Infinite Tea', and became an 'Infinite Tea Demon'!"
Jerome blinked and gripped the sword tighter. "You can't be serious."
The villain looked at him coldly, his humor instantly gone. "Oh - I'm very serious." He reached into his breast pocket and pulled out a small bag, which smelled of crystal herbs. "Using my 'Infinite Tea Making Technique', I will throw this bag of tea into the sea and turn all the water in the world into tea!"
Jerome remained calm and readied his sword. Flavor of "I won't let that happen because I'm a hero!" [unstoppable sword strikes causing a reasonable amount of damage]!"
The demon sneered and fired a torrent of his own magic at him. "I don't think so!" [Wuji Tea Abyss]!"
Jerome smirked as he fooled another demon with his fake sword. This is a handy trick because most enemies always expect a [hero] with a sword in his hand, but Jerome is different.
Jerome is special.
He is different from other heroes. He came into this world without any special gifts or the ability to deceive, and could only rely on courage and his own iron will to fight. He succeeded and became the greatest hero in the land.
Because he does have a bit of an advantage. With a little cleverness and improvisation combined with the right skills, you can change the world.
Jerome remembers things from high school physics and chemistry classes. He probably knew that water was made of molecules and stuff like that, with some bonds in it. Or something like that.
Using this knowledge, he was naturally able to surpass all the experts [Gem Masters] in the world and create a powerful water magic technology.
He now uses this technique on unsuspecting demons.
"You fool, you've fallen into my trap!" [actually a water beam composed of similar molecules and substances]!"
A huge beam of water roared out of his hand and hit the devil's tea bundle, creating a thunderous collision in the center of the tea bundle, and the tea and water came together.
Jets and jets of liquid flew across the sky, piercing the clouds below and shattering rocky mountaintops.
To Jerome's dismay, the demon just laughed at his smile. "Ha, do you think this trick can defeat me?" The power of atoms is limited, but the power of tea is unlimited. "
Tea's beam began to erode forward, slowly but surely defeating Jerome's beam. More spray was sprayed all over the ground and rocks were blasted into the air.
Jerome panicked, trying to imagine things like atoms and chemical bonds in the water, and for some reason his magic got stronger.
Suddenly, a small stone fell from the sky out of nowhere and hit the devil in the face.
none
Jerome blinked.
The devil's bunch of tea flashed, just for a second.
Jerome's jet of water struck the villain's core, vaporizing him on the spot and throwing aside the small pebble that had aided him.
Jerome stared at the body, the only trace of the villain left behind was the pair of stylish leather boots he had left behind. Even now, after more than two years in this world, the sight of death still left him a little unbalanced.

Seeing the number rising, he immediately calmed down, even though he was a little unhappy about the wasted 100 experience points. The experience in which he wasted 2000 years still lingered in his mind and made him shudder at night.
But then he laughed. "Thanks to the goddess, now the world is saved again."
Then, he stood on the top of a high mountain, overlooking the world, and loved the world from the bottom of his heart. That's why he defends it so hard.
Because this world is beautiful.
In the sky he could make out three bright rings surrounding the Earth, dancing an eternal waltz to the song. Because in this world, there is always a song. Gem trees sing in the wind, their bell-shaped leaves emitting a soft melody when a strong wind blows through them.
And of course the people. His friends and companions in the village are now saved from the demonic threat.
At first, Jerome is wary of their strange behavior. A beautiful person is like a living jade sculpture, even if they have their own quirks. He was shocked to find that there was nothing between their legs. They seem to be stuck in the Stone Age forever. But he has adapted.
Maybe after defeating the demon, he'll even work up the courage to finally ask one of those beauties out on a date...
So Jerome started down the mountain, humming to the song of the trees, satisfied that he had done a good job today.
The real heroes are ignored.
Alas, look how easily this [hero] forgets! Forgetting the key to victory and taking all the glory for himself!
Because small things are often easily forgotten. Especially those who help at the last minute! Especially those as small as pebbles.
But even if the hero does this, the world will never forget.
The world did not watch the champion from another country walking down the hill, but followed the real hero, the humble stone, who was now rolling down the hill at a very fast speed.
That's a nice stone. Actually gneiss. accelerate. Level 1 [Rolling Stone].
A brand new hero embarks on a great journey.
Yes, the old [Planet] have retired from adventuring and stored their old tools in their basements.
But...when the veteran put the sword in the box and let the hilt peek out, wasn't there a twinkle in their eyes?
It knows that the little guy upstairs will eventually find it, seizes the opportunity, and goes on an adventure. Because the old one can no longer be done alone.
Perhaps the young hero believes he is the master of his own destiny, but who is really pushing him forward?
Because...the old one really wants to watch it. What will the young hero do and, most importantly, what will happen at the end of the mission, it has been successfully shifted forward. It was difficult to meet all the requirements to transfer it, but it finally managed to replicate those conditions close enough. Now it waits. What's the reward? What happens once those numbers finally hit the promised target?
It even occasionally puts itself on the scale to help the young hero move forward if it's stuck. Not too much, of course, since no one can truly control the hero's fate, and it doesn't want to further inflame the system's wrath.
But it looked. Because it's so satisfying to watch those numbers go up, to watch the rock get bigger and more powerful, to watch it struggle to catch its ultimate goal. Make you addicted. It has been on the road for too long and cannot stop now. It must pursue rewards that always remain just over the next cliff, just out of reach.
It almost made the old man wish that the search would never end, that the adventure could go on forever. Eternally holding on to the finish line but never reaching it.
But that would drag out time, and every story has an ending. Even the story begins again.
Ashes to ashes. Ashes to ashes.
