Today, I spent ten thousand days to basically write out the plot about Lockhart in one go, so as not to make the character too fragmented, and also to pay off my debts.
Let me explain my settings.
I have always felt that although Lockhart is not a top wizard, he is not particularly weak, at least on the average level.
After all, he has stolen so many stories, and he must have successfully attacked many wizards.
And even if these people are all unique and can only fight specific dark creatures, they are still dark creatures!
Their most basic vigilance should not be lacking, especially according to the few words in the original book, several of them are people who live far away from wizard society and live alone for a long time.
This kind of wizard will never lack vigilance.
So is Lockhart, who has failed so many times, weak? Maybe he's not particularly strong, but he definitely can't be said to be particularly weak.
And his memory magic is definitely not bad. In the original book, it is only said that everything is forgotten, but please don’t forget that some wizards saved a village.
This means that more than one person witnessed the incident, and it is very simple to obtain evidence.
And Lockhart has received the Order of Merlin and is a member of the Anti-Dark Arts Alliance, so these two will definitely do simple investigations.
Lockhart said that he saved the village, so the people in the village must have an impression of him, right?
To say the least, these people didn't even investigate, but what if those ardent fans in the magic world who can take a trip at any time check in?
So through this matter, I added the setting that Lockhart is good at memory magic, so that he can compile the memories of people in the village.
Lockhart's strength is not weak, but the original work shows that his hips are stretched, so I chose to add illusion skills to him, which matches better with memory magic.
At the same time, the setting of the curse was also added. Because he was cursed, he became more exaggerated. He knew that he was not qualified for the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, but he still held it forcibly and was unwilling to leave.
The diary took advantage of this, and while lifting the curse on him, it also quietly modified his memory.
After all, when he was 16 years old, according to the plot of the sixth part, Voldemort had already modified his uncle's memory, and ordinary detection methods could not detect it, so he cannot be considered weak in memory magic.
Then, when the curse was lifted, Lockhart let down his guard, and Voldemort slightly changed his memory and added some fighting methods, so it makes sense.
At the same time, Voldemort amplified his arrogant emotions and made him unable to distinguish between fantasy and reality.
After all, Voldemort had always been a master at playing with people's hearts when he was young. It was only when he got older and became crazy that he lost this ability to a certain extent and began to be superstitious and fearful.
Because of this arrogance, Lockhart dared to rush in front of the Aurors, professors and all students, openly provoked, and killed the Aurors using the spell Voldemort taught him.
In addition, he was slightly strengthened by Voldemort and gained a certain amount of power after the death of the 12 cupids, so he was able to compete with Harley at the beginning when she was not serious and many of her abilities were not used.
Later, when Harley became serious, the arrogant Lockhart was killed.
There are some details later, which will be revealed through channeling, so I won’t spoil them here.
That's all. Thanks to my friends who have always supported me. I'm exhausted.
