"The Daqing River leads directly to the sea. If these water systems are opened up, Linqing and other places can be connected to the sea in the future and maritime trade channels can be established."
Walking all the way to the top of Yushan Mountain and looking at the Daqing River faintly heading east, Zuo Mengeng expressed his last thoughts.
The Daqing River was the Yellow River in later generations. It was not until the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty that the Yellow River took over the water and flowed into the sea, and the Daqing River withdrew from the stage of history.
Today's Daqing River has magnificent waves, and its water flow even far exceeds that of the Yellow River in later generations.
It would be such a waste not to utilize such waterways.
Following Zuo Mengeng, everyone couldn't help but admire him deeply when they heard his overall idea.
If it is really done as he said, it will definitely be a good thing that benefits all people.
When everyone came to the top of the mountain, they didn't expect there to be anyone here.
An old monk and two young monks were holding pens, inks, paper and inkstones and they didn't know what they were doing. Seeing such a large group of people coming up, all of them soldiers, I couldn't help but be frightened.
The old monk hurriedly told the young monk to pack his things and prepare to avoid it.
Zuo Mengeng clasped his hands together and said apologetically: "I'm sorry for disturbing the master's spiritual practice."
The old monk never expected that these military masters were so easy to talk to, and his mood relaxed.
"This belongs to the human world. If a poor monk can come and get it, the donor can also come and get it."
Zuo Mengeng admired this open-mindedness.
"Master climbs high and looks far away every day. He holds the great mountains and rivers in his mind. Have you ever seen through reincarnation?"
The old monk smiled calmly.
"Seeking fate is painful, and not seeking is also painful. If this life is painful, how can there be joy in the next life?"
He is truly a great monk who sees things clearly and wins the unanimous respect of everyone.
Mao Yuanyi took two steps and saw what the three monks had written.
They were originally copying a worn-out Buddhist scripture into a new book, but halfway through writing, they were interrupted by Zuo Mengeng and others.
However, when Mao Yuanyi picked it up and looked at it, she discovered that it was not a Buddhist scripture, but a Zen poem.
[The Bodhisattva descended into the clouds and was born in the Palace of Pure Brahma. Maya gave birth to a golden boy on his right side. Heavenly music played in the sky. He looked around in all directions and pointed at the earth with seven steps. Nine dragons spat out water to bathe his face in kindness. All Dharmas were authentic. He pointed at the earth and pointed at the heavenly Lord. Xiong, the Nine Dragons spit out water to bathe his face in kindness, and all methods are authentic. 】
Mao Yuanyi didn't understand Buddhism and was confused.
"Master, this does not seem to be the meaning of Buddhist scriptures."
The old monk did not feel the humiliation, but said: "This scripture has been kept in the temple for many years. Seeing that it was badly damaged, the poor monk wanted to rewrite it to pass it on to future generations. As for who wrote it, the poor monk did not understand seal script. , difficult to answer.”
Mao Yuanyi took the shabby scripture again and turned it to the front. When she saw the writing on it, her expression changed.
He did not believe in evil, so he read it again and again, and then said to everyone: "Come and see, this is actually written by Cao Zijian."
Cao Zhi’s writing style?
Everyone was surprised and came over one after another. However, no one except Mao Yuanyi knew the seal script, so he could only listen to his interpretation.
Mao Yuanyi pointed to the words above and read: "In the early days of Taihe, Cao Zijian realized the Tao here."
Liu Yiyuan carefully looked at the yellowed scripture in Mao Yuanyi's hand and couldn't help but be suspicious.
"Is this really Cao Zijian's writing style? Has it been preserved after all these years?"
Mao Yuanyi said: "I once had the opportunity to see Cao Zijian's authentic handwriting. This is indeed his handwriting."
Everyone still trusts his talent. Since it is so certain, it is 80% correct.
When they thought of meeting the authentic work of Cao Zhi, a man of great talent and capable of writing poems in seven steps, everyone's hearts suddenly became eager.
Mao Yuanyi greeted the old monk and asked, "Dare you ask the master's name?"
The old monk hurriedly said: "Poor monk Hui Yuan."
Mao Yuanyi asked: "Master Huiyuan, how long has this scripture been stored in your temple?"
Huiyuan said honestly: "Many, many years ago, when the master was here, the poor monk had seen this sutra and asked about it. The master said that this was a legacy from our ancestors, and maybe it was there when the temple was built."
Liu Yiyuan also wanted to visit ancient times and asked: "I wonder where your temple is? When was it built?"
The old monk pointed to the foot of the mountain on the west side and said, "That's our temple. It's called Bai. It's said to have been built in the Three Kingdoms."
Everyone looked at each other, not knowing that there was a thousand-year-old temple just around the corner.
Seeing that everyone seemed to be very concerned about this matter, Huiyuan asked cautiously: "Dear donors, is there anything involved with this Cao Zijian?"
Mao Yuanyi was stunned and asked: "Master, don't you know who this Cao Zijian is?"
Huiyuan shook his head blankly.
"A poor monk is so stupid that he makes people laugh."
It is quite ordinary for a mountain monk not to know the historical allusions.
Liu Yiyuan explained it to him.
"Cao Zhi was the son of Cao Cao during the Three Kingdoms period. He was extremely talented and unparalleled in the world. He was later named King of Dong'a..."
As he spoke, everyone couldn't help but change their expressions.
King Dongah...
The location they are currently in is Dong'e County.
"Could it be that here..."
Liu Yiyuan suddenly thought of a possibility, but he really couldn't believe it.
When he thought that this place might have a significant relationship with Cao Zhi, Zuo Mengeng was also very moved and quickly said to Huiyuan: "Master, can you lead us to pay a visit to your temple?"
Does Huiyuan dare to say no?
He immediately took the lead and took everyone all the way down the mountain.
Fanbei Temple is located in the southwest corner of Yushan Mountain. It is small in area. Apart from the facade, there is only one main hall and two side rooms on the left and right sides. Moreover, it was severely damaged and showed complete damage.
Huiyuan was helpless about this.
"During the Longqing period, our temple prospered for a while. Later, the war broke out and pilgrims were cut off, making it difficult to continue. Now there are only three monks, masters and disciples left, and we don't know when the Buddha will bring blessings."
It's a pity that his complaint was told to the blind man, and several people present did not believe in Buddhism.
The purpose of their coming here is not to worship Buddha.
"Master, please give us the collection of your temple for a look."
The long-term poverty and chaotic world have made Huiyuan no longer have the reserve of a monk. He would do whatever Mao Yuanyi said.
At his instruction, the two young monks brought some ancient books, and Mao Yuanyi and Liu Yiyuan eagerly examined them.
This inspection turned out to be very fruitful.
"Zhongheng, look, this is the record of monk Daolin from the Tang Dynasty."
Zuo Mengeng went over to take a look and saw a book called "Fayuan Zhulin" that said, "King Chen Si was trying to visit Yushan when he suddenly heard the sound of Brahma in the air. It was elegant and sad. His voice moved his heart. He listened alone. After a long time, I copied its sound and composed an ode to the prince."
King Chen Si is Cao Zhi, he still knows this.
"What's the meaning of this Ode to the Prince?"
Mao Yuanyi pulled over the Zen poems that Huiyuan and others had copied before on the mountain, and said with a smile: "This is the Ode to the Prince. Cao Zijian wrote it after deleting and editing the "Prince Ruiying Benqi"."
Looking at the content of "Ode to the Prince", Zuo Mengeng was puzzled.
"It's really strange. Why did Cao Zijian write such a Zen poem?"
Huiyuan said hesitantly: "The donor doesn't know something. This is a work recited by monks of my generation."
After that, he took out the wooden fish and asked his disciples to take out the copper bowl and show it to everyone.
As the magical instruments played, the mysterious chants of the three monks instantly brought clarity to the world, which actually relieved everyone's irritable moods.
Only then did Zuo Mengeng realize the value of "Ode to the Prince".
He was keenly aware that this seemed to be something very remarkable.
In fact, he didn't know that this was Yushan Bai, the orthodox Chinese Buddhist music created by Cao Zhi.
Later Buddhist rituals and music were developed on this basis.
During the Tang Dynasty, Fuso monks Kukai, Ennin and others invited Uoshan Bai there and honored him as the Uoshan Statement.
The Nichiren sect, one of the thirteen sects of Japanese Buddhism, regards Uoshan as its orthodox one.
Master Zhenjian invited Yushan Bai to North Korea and called it Yushan.
It can be said that the entire East Asia region has Cao Zhi as the ancestor of Buddhist music.
And Yushan Bai will be one of my country’s intangible cultural heritages in later generations.
But everyone already knows that this Fanbei Temple and Cao Zhi are probably inseparable.
For that alone, it's worth watching here.
Zuo Mengeng immediately told Fu Yusun: "Inform Nian Taigong and others about this immediately, and send someone to repair this place. The daily incense cannot be cut off."
Fu Yusun made arrangements immediately.
Huiyuan never expected that the military masters he met by chance today would be so kind, and he was really overjoyed.
However, I am miserable and have nothing to thank you for. After thinking about it, he actually took the inkstone he had used for writing on the top of the mountain and brought it to Zuo Mengeng.
"Our temple has been preserved due to the benefactor's kind thoughts. The poor monk is extremely grateful. This square inkstone was picked up by a young disciple in the wilderness. Although I don't know its origin, the words engraved on it seem to be the same as those in the book. I am grateful to the temple. , please be kind to the donor."
Is there an inscription on the inkstone?
Zuo Mengeng took it over and looked at it. It was indeed there, but he couldn't understand it, so he handed it to Mao Yuanyi.
But after Mao Yuanyi saw it, she jumped up.
"Master, where did you get this inkstone?"
Huiyuan was startled and thought something big had happened, so he couldn't help but look at his apprentice.
One of the young monks said fearfully: "Yes... the young monk picked it up in the mountain col to the east. There is a dirt bag there, and you can often pick up some things."
Zuo Mengeng asked: "Is there something wrong?"
Mao Yuanyi excitedly shook the pendulum and showed the inkstone to everyone.
"This is a burial object. The text above says that King Dong'a was martyred."
Now everyone was shocked.
Could it be that Cao Zhi’s tomb was discovered?
