After a while, the animal god led the elephant's soul towards the Wangxiang Terrace. Generally, evil people who die in the world are escorted to this stage by bulls and horses to see the world's evaluation of their evil deeds while they were alive; generally, good people who die in the world do not need to go up this stage. This platform is under the jurisdiction of King Senluo, the fifth palace of the underworld. The Animal God Si walked to the front of the temple, took out an animal merit card, and showed the side with the word "Gong" written on it for King Senluo to see. Senluo looked at the soul of the elephant that followed, and then did it. With gestures, the guards knowingly took away weapons such as knives and halberds that were crossing the road and shouted: "Please come in."
It will be very difficult for an animal that has committed too many sins to climb the Wangxiang Tower. The road is full of traps. Every ten meters or so, you will fall into it. Most of the traps are sharp blades inserted upside down, which can always cut the animal's feet. The animal is injured and bleeding. When they pull out the front or rear feet, they then move forward. Often the pain is unbearable due to the severity of the injury, and they stumble down to their front hooves.
At this time, they will be severely beaten by the ghost servants carrying wooden sticks or bamboo whips. The animals in such suffering have no choice but to limp forward in pain.
But now this elephant has touched the underworld because of his sacrifice to save others, his merits have surpassed those of other animals, and his good deeds have moved the underworld. There is no unimaginable pain at all, and it has climbed to the viewing platform smoothly all the way.
I saw that my body was buried on a sunny hillside. A stone tablet about ten feet high was erected on the tomb, which was engraved with the words "The elephant who sacrificed himself to save others - the tomb of a warrior martyr". The words were painted Bright red, clearly eye-catching under the sunlight. Ai Ru and other people who came to express their condolences still stood in front of the grave and bowed their heads in silence. This ceremony was hosted by the local animal protection station.
The soul of the elephant is very excited and restless. He is a beast. He only did some good deeds during his lifetime, and then he enjoys the burial and worship of martyrs in the world. It turned its attention to the wreaths placed around the tomb, which were all elegiac couplets in memory of it. How could it be literate? All I know is that it praises it. Si Zhushen picked an elegiac couplet and said:
The good deeds and sacrifices made by the beast-faced men should be praised,
A man with a human face and a beast's heart should be ashamed of himself for committing violence and being worse than an animal.
The elephant's soul listened and bowed its head humbly. The animal god wanted to choose another elegiac couplet to recite, but the soul of the elephant refused to let him go. He snorted and emphasized in animal language: I only care about catching the bad guy.
Si Zhushen said: Why are you in a hurry? I congratulate you on enjoying the incense that the world worships. If ordinary animals die, they will be chopped into pieces by the world and sold as meat to satisfy people. You are different! All the mountain gods, tree gods, and grass gods in the mountain area where you are buried envy you.
The soul of the elephant said again: Let's not talk about this anymore. I just want to see with my own eyes whether the bad guy has committed suicide at Wangxiangtai.
The God of Animals said that if you look carefully, the elephant's soul will only blink and you will see the familiar and hateful middle-aged man. He shot himself to death with four bullets from a box gun. The elephant's soul was angry and raised its thick trunk again, a desire for revenge impelling its behavior. The Animal God pulled its ears and said, "Don't be angry. This is all caused by the karma of life after life. If you are angry, the images you see now will disappear immediately." The elephant's soul calmed down and continued to look at the middle-aged man who emerged from the jungle after committing the crime.
At this time, a group of people walking from the forest looked at the dead elephant. After learning about the situation from Airu, they went down the mountain to report the incident to the police. So, an hour later, the local main roads, especially the entrances and exits of the market with many pedestrians, were patrolled by police and plainclothes officers were also on duty.
After going down the mountain, the middle-aged man passed through a field and crossed several arch bridges. He saw police patrolling at the intersection of rural roads in the distance and felt panicked. He planned to take a detour, but was afraid of arousing suspicion, so he slowed down. What should he do? He looked back inadvertently and saw a woodcutter approaching with a load of dry firewood. He had an idea. When the woodcutter approached, he greeted him and offered him a high price to sell him the load of dry firewood.
The woodcutter was picking firewood to sell, so he stopped, held the banknotes given by the middle-aged man in his hand, looked at them repeatedly, and thought they were genuine, then nodded to the middle-aged man and left with satisfaction.
The middle-aged man untied a bundle of dry firewood, turned his back to the intersection of the rural road in the distance, squatted down, took out the box gun on his body, put it into a green cloth bag, tied it inside the bundle of firewood, and then tied the dry firewood He stood up again, shouldered the wooden stick lying between the two bundles of dry firewood, and walked boldly towards the intersection of the rural road in the distance.
At the intersection, a heavily armed policeman raised his right hand and then lowered it a little, signaling the middle-aged man carrying the load of firewood to stop. The middle-aged man pursed his lips and muttered: I am a woodcutter.
The woodcutter also stopped for me. The police had a tough tone.
The middle-aged man rested his load of firewood on the side of the road, stood there pretending to be calm, and said seriously: I'm not a bad person, why are you police looking for me?
The policeman said: Comrade, please cooperate. An hour ago, a major case occurred in the jungle over there. Expose all your clothes and purses for me to see.
The middle-aged man thought to himself: What a danger. If he hadn't hidden the box gun in the bundle of firewood, today would really be over. He rummaged through all his clothes and took them out, loosened his trousers, and said, "Come and see."
The policeman came over to take a look, touched him again, but found nothing, and then asked him which village group he was from. He said that he was a villager from the Liangpuru Group in Wushan Village, Eucalyptus Village, and his name was Muwanggua. Due to the difficulties in his family's life, I just went up the mountain to get some firewood, ready to carry it to the market to exchange for some small money to supplement household expenses.
At this moment, several more police officers arrived, all wearing belts and looking majestic. Mu Wanggua looked at it, feeling chilled in his heart. After interrogating him, the policeman asked him to sign the page in the record book before letting him carry the bundle of firewood. Fortunately, he quickened his pace and was secretly glad that he got through.
Unexpectedly, when I approached a stone bridge, I met another group of people, about five or six people. A tall man in a blue shirt shouted: Woodcutter, stop for me and get checked.
Muwanggua stopped, looked at the tall man and said: Why should I check? You are not a police officer and have no right or qualification to check me.
The tall man took out a small book and showed it to him. Then he realized that the small book was a police ID. Then he saw that the tall man was not wearing any clothes, so he guessed that he was a plainclothes policeman. He felt panicked again, so he said: I just received the certificate at the fork in the road. After the inspection, wouldn’t it be redundant for you to check again? I am a mountain man who chops wood. No matter how big the storm is, it is impossible for me to destroy my profession, right?
The tall man often visited the market town and saw many woodcutters, whom he was familiar with but unfamiliar to him, so he paid attention to them. The tall man didn't argue with him. He felt that the woodcutter's hands at least had calluses or cracked marks like thorns scratching them, but he didn't.
The taller man looked more and more like a woodcutter, so he asked another plainclothesman to check his bundle of firewood. Muwanggua panicked and said quickly: You can just search my body. Why are you opening my bundle of firewood? It's hard to bind them if they are loosened.
The plainclothesman didn't listen to his words, but he opened the bundle of firewood in a few moments. There happened to be a bulging green cloth bag hidden in the bundle of firewood. The plainclothesman took out a box gun from it, raised it high, and shouted: You guys Look, the elephant was killed with this box gun.
The tall man frowned and said coldly to Muwanggua: Woodcutter, what else do you have to say? Muwanggua's face turned pale, his head drooped and he said nothing. With a click, the tall man put a pair of shiny handcuffs on him.
Suddenly the image of this scene disappeared, and the elephant's soul shook its head, meaning: I still want to know how he will be dealt with by the criminal law of the Yang world. Si Zhushen said: Let’s go! You don’t need to care about these. You have to believe that the criminal law of Yangshi is selfless.
After leaving the Wangxiang Terrace, the Animal God led the elephant's soul to the Wheel-turning King's Hall. The Wheel-turning King looked at the elephant's soul with a smile, and then recited a spell, and the elephant's soul turned into a human being - a human being. A tall, strong man.
