The Confucian scholars in the academy understood clearly that although Yang Zhu's theory also criticized Confucianism, it was mainly aimed at Mohism, and it was tit-for-tat. "Easing things and being reborn" and "valuing yourself" are directly contrary to Mohist thought. .
