Living in the world is not a decision that can be made on a whim.
It is a kind of practice to stay away from the world, stay away from the entanglements of the mortal world, and focus on your own practice.
The road is never far away, which is another kind of practice.
In practice, people often choose between the two. They do not follow one path exclusively, but seek a balance between entering the world and leaving the world.
Master Xuan Xiao decided to fight against the demon of disaster, and it was inevitable that he would be involved in the world. Whether it's good or bad, I can't tell yet.
Gong Mengbi has been wallowing in the world of mortals and has never really been born.
Taoist priest Xuan Xiao was going to the Great Buddha Temple to lobby the eminent monks, and he brought Gong Mengbi and others with him.
Taoist Master Xuan Shuang was not willing to go. He muttered something inaudible and was very resistant.
Gong Mengbi asked: "Does Taoist Xuanshuang have a grudge against the monks of the Great Buddha Temple?"
Ming Ling whispered: "It's not that I have any grudges, it's that the monks from the Great Buddha Temple want to come and undergo strict precepts. Uncle Master can't find any fun."
Taoist Master Xuan Shuang had already heard them talking and complained: "Our Mingling family is like wood, and those monks are like stones."
Taoist Master Xuan Shuang is very playful, and when he encounters those monks, he is really powerless and has nothing to do.
The Dafo Temple and the Daxian Temple are not far apart, both in Jinhua Mountain. Taoist Xuanxiao had naturally known each other for a long time with the great monk of the Great Buddha Temple, otherwise he would not have boasted about being able to invite the great monk to Haikou.
Looking at the gate of the Great Buddha Temple from a distance, you can see huge stone Buddhas walking, sitting or lying in various poses and lifelike shapes.
These stone Buddhas are carved into the cliff and turned into a large Buddha wall, but they are actually far more breathtaking than the murals.
The Great Buddha Temple is located under a cliff. The spreading cliff is majestic and majestic. In addition to the groups of giant Buddhas, there are also unfinished stone Buddhas that are being excavated.
Gong Mengbi looked from a distance and could see a monk on each stone Buddha being excavated.
Minngling said: "The practice of the Great Buddha Temple is like this. Disciples of all generations have carved the Buddha on the cliff. The completion of the construction of the Buddha also represents the achievement of practice."
Gong Mengbi nodded, "No wonder it has such charm."
In the perception of Tongtian Dharma, these Buddhas are like living creatures with extremely high spirituality. You can hear the continuous chanting sound coming from the Buddhas.
The sound of chanting was inaudible to the naked ear, but Gong Mengbi could perceive it clearly.
When they arrived outside the Great Buddha Temple, the monk guarding the mountain saw that Taoist Master Xuan Xiao had brought people here. They discussed it with each other, and one of them went to report to the visiting monks, while the others were still guarding the mountain gate.
After a while, the thin but tall monk Zhike came out. When he saw Taoist Master Xuanxiao, he said happily: "The real Dharma Master is here, and the phoenix is shining. Please come this way."
The monk Zhike introduced everyone, and Master Xuanxiao introduced Gong Mengbi, saying: "This is Gong Huzheng, a disciple of Tianhu Academy, now practicing in Lanyin Temple."
The two of them bowed to each other, and the Zhike monk sighed: "The treasure land of Lanyin Temple has finally returned to the light of day. Gonghu's righteous way is profound and can subdue the demons in it."
Gong Mengbi said: "I don't dare to surrender, I just borrowed the precious land to open the Fox Courtyard."
Knowing that the guest monk did not know the inside story, Gong Mengbi explained.
The monk who knew the guest said: "It is rare to preach to wild foxes and teach them."
Master Xuanxiao was obviously familiar with Zhike Monk, so he asked, "Is the noble man still in the temple?"
The monk Zhike nodded and said: "I am practicing in the Bodhi Courtyard. The lotus flowers have been blooming well recently. The abbot is giving lectures to the nobles by the lotus pond. Please stay in the meditation hall for a while, and I will go and invite the abbot."
Taoist priest Xuan Xiao said: "Thank you."
The monk Zhike went to the Bodhi Courtyard. The courtyard was densely shaded with greenery, and a tall Bodhi tree opened like an umbrella, casting mottled shadows.
This is how Bodhi Court got its name.
Not far from the Bodhi tree, there is a lotus pond dug out. The lotus flowers in the pond are in full bloom and full of vitality.
There was a low eucalyptus placed in the corridor. A great monk and an old woman sat opposite each other. Behind the old woman stood a middle-aged woman, leading several maids to serve around her.
The monk Zhike walked to the corridor and whispered a few words into the monk's ear.
The kind-faced old princess did not hear what they were saying, but when she saw the great monk's expression, she asked, "Abbot Huiming has something urgent. If there is something, Abbot, please go take care of it first, and then give me lectures another day."
Abbot Huiming said warmly: "It's Taoist Priest Xuanxiao of Daxian Temple who came to look for me."
The old princess smiled and said: "It turns out he is an expert from the Daxian Temple."
She smiled brightly and said: "I go to and from the Great Buddha Temple, but I have never seen a Taoist cultivator from the Great Immortal Temple. You might as well invite him to discuss the Tao with me, so that I can learn more."
Abbot Huiming's expression remained unchanged and he said, "I will ask on your behalf."
The old princess smiled and said: "Okay."
The monk Zhike brought the abbot to the Zen room. When the monk with a dignified face saw Master Xuanxiao, he smiled and said: "It's rare to be busy today. Master Xuanxiao may not be here for a long time."
Taoist priest Xuan Xiao said: "It's not that I won't come, I'm just afraid of offending the distinguished guests."
Abbot Huiming said with deep meaning: "You are afraid of offending the noble man, but the noble man is still thinking about you. Just now he told me that he would invite you to discuss the scriptures and Taoism together."
Taoist priest Xuan Xiao smiled bitterly and said, "Please spare me."
Abbot Huiming ignored the matter and reminded: "Then you came in a hurry, and you have to leave in a hurry."
Taoist priest Xuan Xiao nodded and told him his intention.
Abbot Huiming was taken aback and said: "With the locust plague, I'm afraid chaos will come soon."
Abbot Huiming paced and said, "I agree, and I will also tell the city emperor."
Taoist priest Xuan Xiao said: "We need to do it as soon as possible."
Abbot Huiming nodded.
Taoist priest Xuan Xiao did not stay long and immediately left with Gong Mengbi and the others.
The monk who knew the guest led the way, and Abbot Huiming went to Bodhi Courtyard again.
Seeing that he came alone, the old princess couldn't help but feel a little disappointed.
Abbot Huiming explained: "The Taoist Master wanted to come, but there was a locust plague outside the mountain. The locust god was causing trouble, and he couldn't escape."
The old princess was shocked and said: "Locust plague? Locust God!"
Abbot Huiming nodded and said: "Exactly, he came to ask me to drive away the locust god together. I am also leaving. I will ask you to read the scriptures by yourself in the past few days."
The old princess nodded repeatedly and said, "Business matters."
The old princess turned back to look at the middle-aged woman and said, "Write to Gusu and ask how the disaster is."
The middle-aged woman bowed in response.
Abbot Huiming said: "Repelling locusts is no small matter. I hope the city emperor is willing to help. Otherwise, just the two of us will not be able to do it."
The old princess said: "The city emperor protects one side, how can we just stand by and watch?"
Abbot Huiming said with a smile: "Exactly, this noble man's words have settled my heart."
The old princess laughed: "How can I, an old woman, win the heart of a Zen master?"
Abbot Huiming said: "It is enough for the noble man to be compassionate."
The old princess was puzzled, but Abbot Huiming was no longer willing to say more and excused himself: "The old monk is going to visit the city emperor now. If he can help, the locust god can be kept out of the county."
The old princess no longer kept him.
It would be much easier for Abbot Huiming to persuade the city emperor if he heard her words.
The locust god comes from the north. If the Jinhua City Emperor can command the county emperors, command the village gods, and thousands of gods to help, it will be much easier to deal with the locust god.
