Liu Wentai is not a clever conspirator.
Chang Feng and Yang Yiqing made a search and found that "The Biography of Wang Tianguan" was found in bookstores and bookstalls in the capital.
This is actually easier to check.
When printing books in the Ming Dynasty, the name of the bookstore responsible for printing must be written on the book cover. The book hall is equivalent to the publishing house in later generations.
Although "The Biography of Wang Tianguan" writes "Shaanxi-Gansu Chang'an Hall Seal". Chang Feng believed that such large-scale printing must have occurred in Beizhili.
Chang Feng and Yang Yiqing interrogated several bookstore shopkeepers, and they all admitted that these books were printed and sent by Rixintang, a famous bookstore in the capital.
The two came to Nissintang, pretending to be literati who planned to publish a book.
In the Rishin Hall, a gentleman sitting on the desk was chatting with a wealthy businessman. Chang Feng and Yang Yiqing lined up behind the wealthy businessman.
The gentleman at the desk kept talking: "As long as you pay one hundred taels of silver, your poems can be published and passed down to future generations. You will become a well-known scholar and poet!"
The purchasing power of one hundred taels of silver in the Hongzhi Dynasty was roughly equivalent to one hundred thousand yuan in later generations.
Most of the books in later generations were published at their own expense, and the cost was about 100,000 yuan. Buying an ISBN and getting 3,000 hardcover printed copies.
As long as you are willing to pay, even elementary school students' compositions can still be published in volumes.
If you don’t want to pay, I’m sorry, no one will publish it for you even if you are talented.
For hundreds of years, the cost of publishing a book has been about the same. It’s really very conscientious!
Chang Feng frowned when he heard this. He has always believed that only articles written by talented and learned people can be collected and published in books.
I never expected that I could pay for it with only a hundred taels of silver.
The wealthy businessman had a smile on his face: "One hundred taels of silver to buy the reputation of a scholar and poet is really a good deal!"
After saying this, the wealthy businessman took out a hundred-tael banknote from his sleeve and asked, "When will the book be printed?"
The gentleman at the desk replied: "You have to wait four months. If you want to rush it, just pay another hundred taels. The engraving can be published in one month."
The wealthy businessman smiled and said: "I'm not in a hurry. There's no need to pay so much money. I'll pick up the book in four months."
The gentleman who sat on the case sent the wealthy businessman away. Asked Chang Feng and Yang Yiqing: "Do you two gentlemen also want to publish a book?"
Chang Feng winked at Yang Yiqing.
Yang Yiqing directly revealed the badge of the doctor from the Ministry of Justice: "From the Ministry of Justice."
The gentleman sitting on the case was shocked: "Department of Punishment?"
Although the Criminal Department's case-handling methods are not as ruthless as Jin Yiwei's, for ordinary people, it is still a bad luck.
Yang Yiqing said: "Go and call your boss out!"
Not long after, Liu Jinwen, the owner of Rixintang, came to Chang Feng and Yang Yiqing.
In a capital city full of big shots, Liu Jinwen is just an inconspicuous little person.
But this man plays a pivotal role in the history of publishing. He almost single-handedly established the commercial publishing model in Ming Dynasty.
Liu Jinwen has always been a man who has seen the world. I usually publish books for civil servants in the capital and deal with many high-ranking officials.
He raised his hands to Chang Feng and Yang Yiqing, and said in a neither humble nor condescending manner: "What do you two have to do with the younger one?"
Chang Feng directly put the "Biography of Wang Tianguan" on the table: "Is this book from your library?"
Liu Jinwen picked it up and looked at it: "We made it."
Chang Feng asked: "When was it published? Why is it printed with Shaanxi-Gan Chang'an Hall instead of Rixin Hall in Beijing on the cover?"
Liu Jinwen replied: "That's right. A month ago, a man came to our Rixintang. He said he wanted to pay two thousand taels of silver to rush to print five thousand copies of "The Biography of Wang Tianguan"."
"He requested that the book cover should be stamped with 'Shaanxi-Ganchang'antang'. The local bookstores did not have enough printing power, so it was common for us to ask our Rixintang to print books. So I agreed."
Chang Feng quickly asked: "Who is the person who asked you to print the book?"
Liu Jinwen replied: "He is a distant cousin of mine."
Chang Feng's eyes lit up when he heard this: "My distant cousin, his surname is also Liu, right? What's his name?"
Liu Jinwen answered truthfully: "Liu Wentai. He is currently the judge of the imperial hospital."
Chang Feng never expected it. This case was investigated effortlessly.
What he never expected was that the aftermath of this incident was much more difficult than the investigation process!
He told Liu Jinwen: "Look at the "Biography of Wang Tianguan" and count how many treasonous and unethical words there are!"
After Liu Jinwen looked at it carefully, he shouted: "Liu Wentai harmed me! My lords, when he came to me, he gave me money very happily, and he was a distant cousin. I didn't pay attention to the content, and asked the people below to hurry up and print it. "
Yang Yiqing told him: "Follow us to the Criminal Department."
After entering the Ministry of Punishment, Yang Yiqing did not punish Liu Jinwen. Liu Jinwen was a well-behaved businessman. He confessed and signed the confession.
Chang Feng read the confession and breathed a sigh of relief: "Liu Wentai impeached Wang Butang on three counts. Only the first one, slandering the late emperor, is substantiated."
"With this confession in hand, it is enough to clear Wang Butang's grievances."
Yang Yiqing said: "I didn't expect Liu Wentai to be so stupid. He doesn't know how to hide it at all."
Chang Feng echoed: "That's right. Liu Wentai is a stupid villain. Come on, I will take you to Gongmianjun!"
After hearing this, Yang Yiqing had an excited expression on his face: "Mian Jun? Can you allow me to change into court clothes and Liang Guan?"
Yang Yiqing has been an official for nineteen years and has never had the opportunity to meet the emperor alone.
Nianjun is a daily routine for Chang Feng. For Yang Yiqing, it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Chang Feng said: "Okay, I'll wait for Mr. Yang."
The most formal official attire of the Ming Dynasty was court clothes and beam crowns.
Liang crowns are quite particular, with eight crowns worn by the public; seven crowns worn by marquis, uncles, princes-in-law, and first-grade officials; and six crowns worn by second-grade officials. Decreasingly.
Yang Yiqing is of the fifth rank and wears a three-beam crown.
Yang Yi washed his face, changed into his court clothes, and his three-beam crown. After packing everything up, he came to Chang Feng and said, "Can you please bring me into the palace, Chief Chang Zhen?"
Chang Feng looked at Yang Yiqing. I laughed secretly in my heart: Brother Yang is still uglier than Hu Zi even after changing into court clothes and Liang Guan.
It is said that a man relies on his clothes and a horse relies on his saddle, but this does not apply to Brother Yang.
The two of them entered the palace and came to the main hall of Qianqing Palace to meet the king.
They knelt down before Emperor Hongzhi.
Emperor Hongzhi met Yang Yiqing for the first time. He ordered: "Yang Yiqing, raise your head."
It didn't matter that Yang Yiqing raised his head, Emperor Hongzhi shrank in fear.
Emperor Hongzhi realized that he had been rude in front of his ministers, so he could only make amends with his words: "Ah, Yang Qing is really a strange person with different appearances."
He is worthy of being the emperor of tomorrow. Emotional intelligence is high.
Low EQ: Looks uglier than a dog.
High emotional intelligence: Strange people with different appearances.
Yang Yiqing said: "Thank you for the compliment, Your Majesty."
Chang Feng on the side suppressed his laughter: Your Majesty, why are you praising you?
Yang Yiqing is the person in charge of this investigation and handling of the impeachment case. Chang Feng only followed him in name to observe politics.
Yang Yiqing reported the ins and outs of the case.
Emperor Hongzhi nodded after hearing this: "It is indeed a frame-up. Let me tell you, Lao Wangshu will not do such stupid things."
"Yang Yiqing, your Criminal Department will arrest Liu Wentai immediately. Together with the Metropolitan Procuratorate and Dali Temple, we will interrogate him clearly and determine the charges."
Yang Yiqing kowtowed: "I obey your order."
Emperor Hongzhi was a little curious: "Yang Yiqing, in what year were you a Jinshi?"
Yang Yiqing replied: "I am the 95th placer in the top three in the palace examination in the eighth year of Chenghua, and I am a Jinshi."
Emperor Hongzhi asked: "I have been an official for nineteen years, and I am still just a doctor?"
Yang Yiqing smiled bitterly: "This is for your Majesty. I don't make progress."
Chang Feng had a good word for Yang Yiqing: "Your Majesty. During the imperial examination, the First Emperor originally gave Yang Lang the first and second place after reading the article."
"Later, I heard from the front of the palace that Mr. Yang had a strange appearance. The late emperor assigned him to the rank of Sanjia 95."
Emperor Hongzhi knew clearly: It turned out that his ugly appearance led to his failure in the imperial examination and official career.
Emperor Hongzhi intended to test Yang Yiqing. Question: "You are in charge of the criminal code of Beizhili in the Ministry of Punishment. What do you think are the merits and deficiencies of the criminal code of Beizhili?"
Yang Yiqing is concise, clear and fluent in his answers. In just a moment, all the criminal status of Beizhili was introduced to Emperor Hongzhi.
Emperor Hongzhi was extremely satisfied: "You have more than one doctor of the fifth rank. You can go down first."
Yang Yiqing left the hall.
Emperor Hongzhi said to Chang Feng: "This case has been closed. You can end your political supervision in the Ministry of Punishment. Liu Wentai is so stupid that you are overqualified to investigate."
Chang Feng said: "The emperor has given you too much praise."
Emperor Hongzhi told him again: "I want to remind you of something. From now on, Jin Yiwei must treat civil servants with respect, at least openly. Don't hit or scold them."
"Lest anyone say that I rule the world as a servant and regard civil servants as servants of servants."
Chang Feng cupped his hands and said, "I will remember the holy precepts."
Liu Wentai was arrested. During the joint trial of the three judicial departments, he did not reveal Qiu Jun, the mastermind behind the case. He knew in his heart that if Mr. Qiu Ge was not released, he would still have a chance of survival.
If Mr. Qiu Ge is betrayed, he will never survive.
This is also the result that Emperor Hongzhi wanted. He wanted to keep Qiu Jun, a master of Neo-Confucianism, in the cabinet to appease the scholars in the world and show the emperor's respect for the learning of saints.
That's what it's like to be an emperor. Famous ministers, virtuous ministers, treacherous ministers, corrupt officials, and mediocre ministers all need to be used.
The case of Liu Wentai's false accusation can only be concluded after the three judicial departments decide the punishment. The court will then be peaceful.
However, I never expected that something would happen!
Among the 246 officials who jointly participated in the impeachment of Wang Shu, more than 150 were in Beijing.
Liu Wentai was arrested, and more than 150 officials from the capital came to Wang Shu's residence, blocked the door and shouted curses.
Jinyiwei North Town Fusi.
Chang Feng was on duty checking the general ledger of the house searches for this ten days. In the past two years, Wang Shu has strictly controlled Beijing officials and local officials in the Ministry of Personnel, and the officials have restrained themselves a lot.
This resulted in the inspection of Qianhusuo's business, which was not as prosperous as it was when Emperor Hongzhi first ascended the throne.
Fatty Xu ran in angrily: "Master Chang! Something happened! More than 150 sesame officials surrounded Wang Butang's mansion."
Chang Feng was surprised: "What? Let's go to Wang Shu's mansion."
Chang Feng brought more than a hundred warriors to the gate of Wang Shu's mansion.
The door of the Wang family is closed. More than 150 officials in front of the gate were shouting curses at Wang Shu.
These civil servants scold people like shrews!
"Wang Shu! I'm fucking your mother! I'm ranked second and thirteenth on the gold list! You idiot, the bottom of the list, is jealous of my ranking high, so you demoted me three levels in a row!"
"Wang Shu! You are nothing but a loser and a loser! You don't care whether others are mean or not!"
"I have been in the officialdom for twenty-five years, and I managed to reach the fourth rank with great difficulty. With just one word from you, I was demoted to the rank of sixth rank official!"
"Wang Shu! You are an immoral person who has been stabbed. There is no home for forty miles away from you, a wolf! If Liu Wentai and Liu Yuan are convicted of a felony by the Sanfa Division, I will risk my life with you!"
These civil servants have no moral ethics! While Wang Shu was seriously ill, he blocked someone's door and greeted their ancestors for eight generations.
That is to say, Wang Shu was too sick to get out of bed. Otherwise, Lao Wang, a fierce man descended from the sky, would definitely come out with a ghost-headed sword in his hand to argue with them.
Chang Feng said loudly: "Everyone, I am Chang Feng, the governor of Beizhen! If you have any objections to Liu Wentai's case, you can file a complaint with the General Affairs Department!"
"Don't yell and curse in front of Tianguan Mansion, be gentle and sweep the floor!"
It doesn't matter if Chang Feng doesn't shout, this group of people is even more powerful: "Okay, Wang Shu is also colluding with the butcher from the factory guard!"
"Wang Shu and the eunuch Qian Neng were originally two little grasshoppers on the same rope!"
"Wang Shu colluded with the emperor's slaves and eunuchs, he is the only one who is polite and disgraceful!"
Chang Feng cursed in his heart: It means that the emperor just issued an order for Jin Yiwei to respect civil servants in the future.
In the past, I wouldn't have finished until the strongmen beat the shit out of you with big sticks!
At this moment, Qian Neng rode a fast horse to the door of the house.
Qian Neng said angrily: "Chang Feng, why are you still standing there? Are all the Beisili warriors under you just eating shit? Beat me!"
"Insulting the prince, these people are tired of living!"
Chang Feng leaned into Qian Neng's ear and whispered: "Duke, the emperor has a decree."
Qian Neng frowned: "Respect civil officials? Do we have to watch these guys insult the prince with their eggs?"
Chang Feng thought about it for a while and came up with a plan. He said: "Don't worry, Governor. I have a way to make them disperse within an hour."
After speaking, Chang Feng told Shi Wenyi: "Go find someone quickly."
Half an hour later. Suddenly, more than two hundred people came toward the Tianguan Mansion gate in a mighty and menacing manner.
This group of people all have small clothes and short clothes, and they all hold wooden sticks in their hands!
Qian Neng was overjoyed when he saw this: "Chang Feng, you found a group of gangsters to beat up these chicken-necked civil servants? How awesome! The gangsters beating the civil servants has nothing to do with our Jin Yiwei."
Chang Feng smiled slightly: "They are not hooligans. Take a closer look."
Money can be seen with a clear eye. The leader of that gang of "ruffians" was actually Ma Wensheng, Minister of the Ministry of War!
The group of people behind him holding wooden sticks were neither hooligans nor soldiers from the Ministry of War, they were all civil servants in the court!
Li Dongyang, the lecturer of the Jingyan, is here!
Zuo Zhongyun Yang Tinghe is here!
Xie Qian, the lecturer and bachelor, is here!
Yang Yiqing, a doctor from the Ministry of Justice, is here!
All the conscientious civil servants in the court are here!
This group of people, like gangsters, rushed towards the mediocre officials who insulted Wang Shu.
Qian Neng was surprised: "Is this?"
Chang Feng smiled slightly: "Eunuch Qian, please watch the show!"
The civil servants of the Ming Dynasty were no different from hooligans at times.
After the Tumubao Incident, Zhu Qiyu had not yet ascended the throne, but was only supervising the country. The "Fengtianmen Massacre" occurred in the imperial court.
Wang Zhen's confidant Ma Shun and two other party members were beaten to death by a group of elegant and knowledgeable civil servants in the early court.
In the 20th year of Chenghua, the great scholar Peng Hua recommended candidates for promotion to the bachelor's degree, but Jiao Fang, the minister, was omitted.
Jiao Fang said: "If I don't become a bachelor this time, I will stab Peng Hua in the head."
Brother Jiao is true to his word. There was actually a boning knife hidden in the sleeve of the sixth-grade egret's blue robe. Peng Hua was standing on Chang'an Road waiting for his business trip home.
If the Han general patrolling Chang'an Road hadn't discovered it in time, it would have resulted in a murder.
As for the incidents of group fights between civil servants due to party disputes, they are countless.
Only magic can defeat magic.
Just now Chang Feng asked Shi Wenyi to inform Ma Wensheng about the siege of Wang Shu's residence.
You know, Ma Wensheng and Wang Shu are close friends!
Moreover, Lao Ma and Lao Wang are both fierce generals and civil servants who go into battle with swords to kill people.
The hobbies of ordinary civil servants are playing chess, calligraphy and painting, appreciating thin horses, and fighting tea.
Lao Ma's hobby is playing with his mother's gun.
When his best friend was blocked at the door of his house and scolded, Ma Wensheng became angry!
If he mobilized his subordinates to teach those demoted mediocre officials, the nature of the situation would have changed.
The Sixth Ministry of Education and the Hanlin Academy are both on the same street. Lao Ma simply called all the civil servants who supported Wang Shu and came to fight with the mediocre officials.
They should have arrived long ago. Ma Wensheng said slyly: "It's not an advantage to fight without a weapon!"
He directly asked the doctor of the Arsenal Department of the Ministry of War to select hundreds of spears from the arsenal. The gun handles were sawn into handy short sticks and distributed to officials as weapons for fighting.
Ma Wensheng raised his short stick high and shouted: "The whole army attacks!"
A group of elegant and easy-going civil servants rushed into the enemy formation with short sticks held high!
Yang Yiqing, who is uglier than a dog, rushes to the front!
The two sides immediately got into a fight.
A member of the household asked Chang Feng: "Master Chang, do we want to take care of it?"
Chang Feng smiled slightly: "The fight between civil servants is causing trouble for our Jin Yiwei? Let's just watch the show!"
Qian Neng echoed: "That's right!" Then he shouted: "Ma Butang, you beat these dogs so hard! I thank you on behalf of the prince!"
More than a hundred Jin Yiwei stood still, watching the excitement with great interest.
It is said that they are fighting each other, but in fact it is a group of people being beaten unilaterally, and a group of people being beaten unilaterally.
Who is Ma Wensheng? That was the Xiaguan of the Ministry of War, the Grand Sima, who commanded millions of Ming troops.
Isn't it a piece of cake to command more than 200 civil servants armed with wooden clubs to attack more than 150 unarmed mediocre officials?
He had previously divided the two hundred civil servants into three teams and surrounded them in a "pin" shape.
The mediocre officials were beaten until they cried for their fathers and mothers, with bruises on their noses and swollen faces.
Chang Feng simply sat on the stone steps in front of the mansion, crossed his legs and pointed at Ma Wensheng with great interest.
Yang Yiqing and a mediocre official held hands and faced each other as if they were wrestling.
Chang Feng shouted: "Mr. Yang! Yang Yiqing! Talk about you! The guy opposite you looks very strong, but he is unstable at the bottom. Why don't you attack his bottom lane?"
Yang Yiqing was inspired by this shout, lifted his vaginal foot, and kicked his opponent's crotch directly.
The opponent immediately fell to the ground, holding his crotch and wailing on the ground.
This fight between civil servants lasted for two full seconds. It ended with the disastrous defeat of the mediocre officials.
The mediocre officials either ran away with their heads in their hands, or supported each other in despair, and soon they were all gone!
Ma Wensheng didn't want to cause trouble. He ordered his civil servants to get out of the way and make way for them.
Chang Feng and Qian Neng walked up to Ma Wensheng.
Qian Neng smiled so hard that his eyes narrowed into slits: "Old Ma, you are a man! You gave the prince a bad breath!"
Ma Wensheng said: "Eunuch Qian deserves the prize. Chang Xiaoyou, thank you for reporting the news to me. Otherwise, those noisy crows would pollute Wang Butang's mansion."
Chang Feng said: "I should, why bother saying thank you."
Qian Neng was a little worried: "Oh, the prince is so sick that he can't even get out of bed. Let's go in and see him?"
Ma Wensheng said: "So many people coming in to visit the patient will disturb Wang Butang's rest."
Lao Ma is very interesting. He brought two hundred young men out to fight in a group, but he didn't forget to hide a Hu pen in his sleeve.
He dipped his pen into the blood on the ground and wrote a line of words on the big pillar at the entrance of the mansion: "The Righteous Position of the Supreme Saint Wenxuan King of Dacheng".
Ma Wensheng and more than 200 civil servants from the Sixth Ministry and the Hanlin Academy knelt down devoutly in front of the pillar.
Ma Wensheng shouted: "May King Wenxuan appear! May the virtuous minister recover as soon as possible!"
All the civil servants shouted in unison: "May King Wenxuan appear! May the virtuous minister recover as soon as possible!"
Shrews scolding each other turned into gangsters fighting each other, and then turned into praying for Wang Shu.
Qian Neng sighed to Chang Feng: "There are also people with conscience among civil servants."
Chang Feng said: "Yes. In fact, who is loyal and who is traitorous, who is virtuous and who is mediocre, the emperor has a steelyard in his heart, the officials have a steelyard in their hearts, and the people have a steelyard in their hearts."
In the words of later generations, the fight in front of Wang Shu's residence was a political turmoil of extremely bad nature.
However, Emperor Hongzhi did not punish any of the officials involved in the fight.
Those who hit were not punished, and those who were beaten were not punished.
On the contrary, just one day later he issued an imperial edict and promoted many people in the "Short Stick Party".
Li Dongyang, the lecturer of the Sutra Banquet, was appointed as the chief examiner of next year's examination.
Xie Qian, who was promoted to be a lecturer and a bachelor, became Prince Zhan Shifu and Shao Zhan Shi.
Yang Yiqing, a doctor in the Ministry of Punishment, was promoted to deputy envoy of Shanxi Provincial Inspector.
He was promoted to Zuozhong and allowed Yang Tinghe to be the lecturer of Jingyan.
The strange thing is that Emperor Hongzhi did not severely punish Liu Wentai, the perpetrator of the frame-up case, and only expelled him from the Imperial Hospital.
Qiu Jun, the backstage cabinet member who framed the case, was not even investigated.
Five days later, Wang Shu resigned. Emperor Hongzhi agreed. But he was neither given an imperial edict nor allowed to retain his original salary. There is no treatment that a meritorious veteran deserves when he becomes an official.
On this day, it was in the southern suburbs of the capital. The ancient pavilion road and the fragrant grass at sunset.
Wang Shu prepared to take a carriage on his journey back home.
He suddenly remembered that in the winter of the 22nd year of Chenghua, it was here that he told the prince Zhu Youtang of Long Qiandong Palace: "My close virtuous ministers and distant people are the reason why the Han Dynasty was prosperous before."
This is what Emperor Hongzhi did after he ascended the throne. Ming Dynasty finally showed signs of prosperity. This made him extremely happy.
There were two to three hundred people who came to see Wang Shu back home!
Wang Shu looked at Li Dongyang, Liu Jian, Xie Qian, Yang Tinghe, Yang Yiqing and others.
He said to himself: "The waves behind the Yangtze River push the waves ahead. May each generation become stronger than the last."
Qian Neng, Ma Wensheng and Chang Feng were also among the farewell crowd.
Qian Neng laughed and scolded: "Old bastard, you are going back to your hometown, and I feel very uncomfortable!"
Wang Shu was not to be outdone: "You bitch, you were beaten lightly by me! When we were in Yunnan, I beat you until you couldn't get out of bed for half a month. You should be happy when I become an official."
Qian Neng was a passionate person, so he couldn't hold it back for a moment and started to cry "woo woo woo".
Wang Shu sighed: "Oh, you are a bitch. Serve the emperor well in the palace and take care of the factory guards. Write to me, an old bastard, more often when you have time."
"Stop crying and acting like a little girl. If others look at you, they will say you are neither a man nor a woman."
Qian Neng burst into tears and smiled: "I am neither a man nor a woman, why are you afraid of what others will say?"
Wang Shu turned around and looked at Ma Wensheng again: "Brother Ma, in my resignation letter, I recommended you to take over as the Minister of the Ministry of Personnel. There should be a decree in the next few days."
"You have to manage the personnel department for the emperor. The selection of officials is related to the foundation of the country."
Ma Wensheng handed over his hand: "Don't worry. I will definitely follow your example and fulfill my duties."
Wang Shu looked at Chang Feng again: "You are a sharp dagger in the emperor's sleeve."
"When the emperor governs the country, he not only needs the Emperor's Righteous Sword like me and Ma Wensheng. At the same time, he also needs a dagger like you that can be hidden in your sleeve and can cut gold and cut jade."
"I hope you always have four words in your heart."
Chang Feng asked: "May I ask Wang Butang, which four words?"
Wang Shu's answer was shocking: "The common people are living together!"
Chang Feng said: "I will keep the prince's teachings in mind!"
Qian Neng complained: "The emperor did not give you, a famous official of this generation, an imperial edict and retain his original salary."
Wang Shu smiled and said: "I have demoted, demoted, and fired so many mediocre officials on behalf of the emperor in the past six years. I always want to make them and those behind them angry."
"The emperor is trying to appease those people by not giving me the imperial edict and salary."
"The emperor's approach is right. A wise king should not only use thunderous means, but also calm people's hearts in a timely manner."
"Thousands of people have gone to me! For the sake of the common people, I can even risk my life. How can I care about a mere imperial edict and salary?"
After saying that, Wang Shu raised his hands and said to everyone who came to see him off: "Everyone, after a long journey, we must say goodbye. There is no banquet in the world that never ends!"
"This return to Shaanxi is the return of fallen leaves to their roots. It has a good beginning and a good end."
"May you all fulfill your duties in Beijing and assist Mingjun. May we create peace for all generations, the people can live and work in peace and contentment, and the Ming Dynasty may prosper for thousands of years!"
After saying that, Wang Shu got on the carriage.
Qian Neng shouted: "Prince, let's go!"
More than two hundred officials shouted in unison: "Your Majesty, go away!"
The carriage carrying Wang Shu disappeared into the sunset.
The era of Wang Shu was over. Of the three gentlemen of Hongzhi, only two remain in the court.
Next, it will be the era of the three heroes of Hongzhi's cabinet.
In history books, good people usually do not get good rewards.
Wang Shu is an exception.
He returned to his hometown to rest in peace, no longer had to work on paperwork, and all his illnesses were gone. He lived until the third year of Zhengde and died at the age of ninety-three.
Emperor Zhengde posthumously gave him Zuozhuguo and Taishi, the posthumous title "Duan Yi".
According to the posthumous law, it is called Duan to observe the etiquette and uphold the righteousness; to practice the saintly style is called Duan; to be strict and respectful is called Duan; to be respectful and respectful is called Duan.
Being able to bring peace to the people is called Yi; protecting the country is called Yi; being virtuous and not striving is called Yi; thinking of good deeds without any hesitation is called Yi.
Wang Shu is a good man and a good official
