Li Xiuyuan put down his tea cup and couldn't help but shake his head as he thought about the terrifying scene of the surging river below the mountain.
He had met Monk Haitong in Yuhua Temple, and they didn't have much interaction with each other, but he didn't expect that this guy was greatly influenced by Tripitaka.
I want to use my own efforts to save countless boatmen at the intersection of the three rivers.
After a while, Li Xiuyuan replied: "The great monk is compassionate."
"Sir, why did you say that in the eyes of the monk, your practice of Buddhism is far better than mine?" Monk Haitong replied.
Li Xiuyuan said softly: "Most of the sentient beings in the world are unaware that they need someone to educate them, but you, monk, have made great aspirations just like Monk Sanzang. This is the heart of a Bodhisattva."
"Compared to the monk, I am much ashamed of myself. At least I cannot be like Sanzang and the monk, who want to save all sentient beings."
Li Xiuyuan looked at the Bodhisattva on the Buddhist altar and murmured to himself.
Monk Haitong was neither sad nor happy when he heard this, and said calmly: "It is easy to make a wish, but it is extremely difficult to actually make it happen. Monk's head turned white with sadness."
After a while, Li Xiuyuan took out a money bag and placed it on the table, then gently pushed it in front of Monk Haitong.
He murmured: "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, just like Monk Sanzang could not leave Chang'an. As long as you start doing it, you will succeed one day."
Li Xiuyuan thought for a long time, but finally did not dare to mess around, and just gave Monk Haitong a bag of gold and silver coins.
Even if he is compassionate, he cannot break the rules of heaven.
Historical records record that Monk Haitong spent his entire life failing to complete the giant Buddha in the mountains.
In this way, even if Li Xiuyuan had the intention, he could not disrupt the monk's lifelong practice.
Monk Haitong was stunned and was stunned for a moment when he opened the money bag.
I couldn't help but murmur to myself: "The monk wants to gather the power of all living beings, but it only costs a few more years. Why should you spend so much money?"
Li Xiuyuan sighed and replied: "Back then, Sanzang went to Tianzhu. It took more than ten years to go back and forth. In addition, after returning to Chang'an, he translated scriptures. It can be said that he spent his whole life just for the ambition in his heart."
After listening to Li Xiuyuan's words, Monk Haitong felt a surge in his heart.
After all, he was not from the same period as Tripitaka. He just read a few volumes of scriptures translated by Tripitaka in Yuhua Temple.
He did not expect that Li Xiuyuan knew Sanzang better than he did.
Monk Haitong looked at Li Xiuyuan quietly, as if he was paying homage to the Buddha walking in the world. After a long time, he murmured softly.
"That's true, but with great aspirations in your heart, why should you be afraid of the surging river below your feet?"
…
That night, until Monk Haitong also went to rest, Li Xiuyuan sat in front of the Buddha.
He was thinking about right and wrong, and what he should and should not do.
In the end, I couldn't figure it out, so I looked at the Bodhisattva on the Buddhist altar and said, "Bodhisattva, talk to me when you have time? Can you?"
It was in the dead of night that Ksitigarbha's voice rang out from Li Xiuyuan's divine sea.
"By the way, what kind of troubles have you encountered, and you need me to share the pain with you?"
Li Xiuyuan sighed. He smiled bitterly and said, "Bodhisattva, although Sanzang suffered a lot, he finally fulfilled his great ambition. Now this monk is suffering much more than him."
After a while, Jizo finally sighed.
He asked back: "You have been planting vegetables for countless years on the snow-capped mountains. Can every seed you sow sprout?"
Li Xiu shook his head and said softly: "That's... too hard, right? For a monk, life is visible, but his great ambitions are difficult to realize..."
In the silence, Ksitigarbha murmured: "It seems that you practiced compassion in the abyss back then, but you are not the god of this world after all."
Li Xiuyuan naturally understood what the Bodhisattva meant, but he was very unwilling to do so.
then
He struggled and said: "Bodhisattva,
I want to do something for the monk, how can I help him? Help those boatmen passing by Sanjiangkou? "
The Bodhisattva thought for a while and replied: "You can go to the cliff and have a look. Let's go."
So, Li Xiuyuan left the Buddhist hall and came to the cliff edge of the surging river.
The Bodhisattva said: "Firstly, this place is located in a dangerous place. The waters of three rivers collide together, forming whirlpools and rapids. Secondly, there is an evildoer under the river who has had countless encounters with you."
Li Xiuyuan was shocked and remained speechless for a moment.
After a while, he asked: "Dragon or big snake?"
Since his debut, he has either encountered a black snake or a dragon in the abyss, but he has never encountered a real demon dragon.
Except for the master of Tianyu City, he used a magic circle he set up to kill a dragon in front of the great lake where he was crossing the tribulation.
The Bodhisattva thought for a while and replied: "I guess he hasn't turned into a dragon yet. He is using the three rivers to devour the sentient beings on the boats passing by. Why don't you do it for heaven?"
Li Xiuyuan smiled faintly: "Sure enough, there will be monsters every time there is bad water. It's a pity that it's not a dragon. Otherwise, Li Bai's body can be changed."
When the Bodhisattva heard this, he couldn't help shouting: "Don't forget that you are just a passer-by, and you are not allowed to change someone else's fate against heaven."
Li Xiuyuan was startled when he heard this, then then realized it and smiled bitterly.
He murmured to himself: "Thank you Bodhisattva for reminding me, I sometimes forget that this is the Tang Dynasty, not a barbaric world."
Even so, he couldn't help but ask one more question: "Well, please help Bodhisattva to let that guy come out."
The river was surging, and Li Xiuyuan asked himself whether he could overturn the river with one hand.
After all, he no longer had any cultivation, and even the sword was hidden on Tianshan Mountain, imprisoned by the master in his own divine sea.
Jizo in the divine sea sighed and said with a wry smile: "I'm not your thug, don't bother me with everything."
Li Xiuyuan replied: "I am saving sentient beings for the Bodhisattva."
The Bodhisattva thought for a while and said, "You are too weak."
After saying that, a sword-like light suddenly fell from the faint moonlight above the night sky, slashing straight towards the surging river at Li Xiuyuan's feet.
Just listen to the sound of "Boom!"
But I saw the Bodhisattva cut off three rivers with one sword, stirred up thousands of piles of snow, and a torrent rose into the sky, cutting off the water of the three rivers under the cliff.
Under the dim moonlight, a steep river bottom and a black cave were revealed...
Li Xiuyuan was speechless for a moment, thinking that this was much scarier than the cold pool on Tianshan Mountain.
Before the water from the sky fell, a roar came from the black cave.
Li Xiuyuan was shocked. Looking at the scene at his feet, his pupils couldn't help but shrink. He saw a black mist soaring into the sky and arriving in front of him in an instant.
Li Xiuyuan watched as the river water parted under his feet, and a huge black shadow rushed out from the bottom of the water.
At this moment, he had the illusion that he was back under the abyss of the Shura battlefield.
Even so, he still did not move. The moonlight shone faintly on his green shirt, integrating him with the mountain in front of him.
Soon, the black mist dispersed, revealing a terrifying head, a black snake head with thin scales and a bloody mouth.
Sure enough, as the Bodhisattva said, this is a black snake that is about to turn into a dragon.
It has been here for who knows how many years, and it has swallowed up many innocent boatmen who fell into the water.
When Black Snake saw Li Xiuyuan, who was just an ordinary mortal in green clothes on the cliff, he roared and showed a ferocious look.
Looking at Li Xiuyuan under the moonlight, Black Snake roared coldly: "A mortal..."
Li Xiuyuan remained motionless, without even taking out his sword, and shouted: "I didn't expect that a little snake could actually do harm to one party, occupying this place and causing harm to the boatmen coming and going!"
The black snake swung
He lowered his body and shouted coldly: "I eat them just so that they can leave early."
Open the place of suffering, no more suffering..."
Having said this, Black Snake moved closer to the cliff, wanting to take a closer look at this uninvited guest.
Under the billowing black mist, the huge body of the black snake finally stood on a boulder near the cliff.
It even disliked Li Xiuyuan's thin body and had no desire to devour it immediately.
Li Xiuyuan replied coldly: "So, when I kill you, I will help you reincarnate earlier and escape this miserable world. Do you want to thank me?"
"court death!"
Suddenly, a black light tore through the void, and like a terrifying sword energy, it struck out in an instant and struck Li Xiuyuan head-on!
Seeing the sword light falling like lightning, it struck down towards Li Xiuyuan on the cliff!
"Buzz!" A golden light shines in the sky!
The terrifying sword light struck an invisible golden bell, making a dragon roar and moving in all directions.
Li Xiuyuan is currently possessed by a Bodhisattva, so how can he be harmed by the sword energy of a black snake?
The moonlight was dim, and Li Xiuyuan didn't even move. Instead, he quietly looked at the black snake in front of him and said, "I told you, you are just a little snake!"
"This is unreasonable, I'm so angry!"
The black Snake let out a roar, and his cultivation was released in an instant, and the terrifying spiritual energy around him exploded, which shocked Li Xiuyuan.
Xindao, this guy actually has somewhat similar skills to Niu Sanduo from the East China Sea.
No wonder he dares to overturn the river and harm one party here.
Fortunately, he and Li Bai arrived at just the right time, otherwise I don't know how many innocent boatmen and workers this guy would have killed.
Just when he thought the black snake in front of him was going crazy, he found that the guy suddenly stopped moving and turned around to look upstream of the Shangmin River.
Li Xiuyuan was puzzled for a moment and turned to look at the Minjiang River not far away.
But I saw the moonlight shining faintly on the mountains and rivers, and a boat was floating all the way down from the upper reaches, as if it was going to take advantage of the starlight and moonlit night to pass through the dangerous confluence of the three rivers.
The place where the three rivers converge is extremely dangerous and the water flows rapidly.
Not to mention that there is still a black snake that is about to turn into a dragon lingering at the bottom of the river. Today's merchant ships probably want to take advantage of the black color to cross here in a light boat.
There was more than one ship, and another one came floating not far away. You could even see the nervous-looking guys standing on the bow of the ship.
Some men on the two boats took out incense candles and lit them in the wind. They stuck the incense candles in the bows of the boats, lit the yellow paper and threw it into the river.
For a while, the river was filled with fragrant mist, and there was a strange atmosphere under the moonlight.
Then, countless boatmen and waiters shouted loud chants, and sang loudly on the river together with the people on the boat not far behind.
The people on the two merchant ships sang ancient boat songs and burned incense, candles and yellow paper to worship the river god and bless them a safe journey.
Li Xiuyuan sighed on the cliff, for the sake of the monster in front of him, and for the sake of the ignorant boatman on the river.
There are only monsters here that may eat people. Where is the river god?
The ancient boat song floated on the surging Minjiang River, and the boatmen on the two boats sang together at the top of their lungs. My voice was melodious and heroic.
Looking at the cliff, Li Xiuyuan couldn't help but sigh, for the black snake in front of him, and for the monk Haitong who had fallen asleep.
The monk was compassionate, but he didn't expect that there was a man-eating monster hidden at the intersection of the three rivers.
Amidst the vigorous singing of the boatmen, the black snake on the cliff suddenly let out a triumphant roar, which was also like a burst of cheers.
[In view of the general environment,
At this moment, the black snake entrenched on the boulder ignored Li Xiuyuan on the cliff.
It didn't expect that on this night of the full moon, someone would dare to take advantage of the moonlight to fly straight down, trying to pass under its nose.
Li Xiuyuan on the cliff shouted: "Don't even think about it, monster!"
