A gust of mountain wind blew by, bringing a hint of chill above the snow-capped mountains.
Wrapped in the chill from the top of the snow-capped mountains, the Queen, her two maids, and the honest monk stepped into the Purple Bamboo Garden.
With the sound of footsteps, Li Xiuyuan's eyes bypassed Duo'er in front of him and looked at the honest monk not far behind him, although he knew that this guy was Wang Yi's friend.
But he didn't expect that this would actually hit the monk who appeared in Duo'er's life.
Thinking of this, even if Li Xiuyuan was in a good mood, he couldn't help but sigh.
"This is my brother Li Xiuyuan. Please bow and help me clean up the house later. I want to stay in the mountains for a few days."
Without waiting for Li Xiuyuan to speak, the Queen Mother gave instructions to the two maids behind her. After the two maids bowed, she pointed at the honest monk behind her and started speaking.
"Brother, this is the honest monk from White Horse Temple. Soon, I will rebuild White Horse Temple. I just happened to bring him up to meet my brother today."
The honest monk stepped forward and greeted Li Xiuyuan who was sitting at the table.
In his eyes, the man in front of him was probably more majestic than the emperor in the palace, not to mention the fact that the queen introduced him as her brother with a different surname.
"Sit down." Li Xiuyuan pointed to the chair in front of him and said quietly.
The queen looked at the completely different stone house in front of her and couldn't help but exclaimed: "When was this house renovated? The walls were also built with stones ?」
Li Xiuyuan thought for a moment and shook his head: "I don't know whether it was your master or Qingyu who was playing tricks on me. I forgot."
The honest monk sat down next to the table, and the queen continued to ask: "Where is the room I used to live in?"
"It seems that Qingyu is reserved for you. Go and have a look in the back room. If there is no quilt, use Qingyu'er and Yue'er's first."
Li Xiuyuan smiled bitterly and said, "You haven't been back for many years. Even if I kept it for you, it would have been put away long ago."
The queen smiled and walked to the back house with her two maids.
While shouting: "Brother, please wait for me to come over and have tea."
The two maids couldn't help but cover their mouths and wanted to laugh, thinking that only by coming here, the Queen would no longer be the feared Empress in the palace.
Li Xiuyuan looked at the cautious look on the honest monk's eyebrows, thinking about the relationship between this guy and Wang Yi, and one day in the future.
He frowned slightly and said calmly: "How many years has the monk practiced Buddhism?"
The honest monk was shocked. He originally accompanied the queen to the snowy mountains, but he didn't know that the queen had a brother with a different surname living in seclusion here.
Suddenly, when I heard Li Xiuyuan ask about cultivating Buddhism, I realized that I didn't seem to have any compassion.
He couldn't help but be stunned for a moment, and then said with a wry smile: "A monk cannot compete with the masters at the foot of the mountain. I just practice Buddhism and travel around the mountains and rivers at the same time."
When he finished, he looked at Li Xiuyuan's peaceful expression and couldn't help but ask: "Sir, have you ever practiced Buddhism?"
There was a look of determination on Li Xiuyuan's eyebrows. He originally wanted to answer carefully, but he changed his mind in an instant and just smiled faintly.
Picking up a piece of spiritual tea that had just been brewed in front of him, he slowly poured it into the three cups in front of him.
He said quietly: "Drink tea."
"My brother's Dharma is something that no one in the world can envy."
While she was talking, the Queen came out of the stone room at the back, walked to the table and sat down, picked up the spiritual tea on the table and took a sip.
Then he sighed faintly and said, "After drinking all the spiritual teas in the world, my brother's brew is the most delicious."
The honest monk sitting aside did not say a word. When the Queen came, he should shut up. This was his duty.
Li Xiuyuan looked at the vegetable field where the seeds had just been sown, and said quietly: "I taught you how to make tea back then, just like this vegetable field..."
Honest Monk Wen
Yan Qingqian frowned, even though he was smart, he couldn't think of
We were obviously talking about the tea ceremony, but suddenly we talked about the vegetable patch in front of us.
When the queen heard this, she couldn't help but giggle.
He opened the food box he brought, took out the pastries he brought from the palace and placed them on the table. Then he picked up a delicate plate and placed it in front of Li Xiuyuan.
He picked up a piece of black rice cake and placed it on the plate in front of Li Xiuyuan. He said "Oh!" and sighed.
He smiled bitterly and said: "Back then, I was making tea with my master. Later, my brother went to the desert and I entered the palace. It was no longer my turn to do these things..."
Speaking of this, Quan Rigui, the most noble empress of the Tang Dynasty, had a look of helplessness on her face.
He said in a daze: "When I passed by the wine shop, the master was not there..."
According to her thoughts, she didn't expect to see Li Xiuyuan this time. She just wanted to return to No. 17 to stay for a few days, but she didn't expect that the old man was not here.
Li Xiuyuan laughed when he heard this: "Senior took Xiaobao and your junior sister's daughter Xiaoyue'er to the desert. I don't know when I will come back."
"You also know that he has never been out since he has been in Chang'an. This time he took his two children on a journey of thousands of miles. It was my intention, not just for him..."
Li Xiuyuan understood that as long as the old man left Chang'an, the dragon would enter the sea, and no one could find out the whereabouts of the three of them.
The queen was shocked and a little helpless after hearing this.
It was best to have no choice but to smile bitterly and say: "That's true. It seems that the master never took Jui'er and junior sister out of Chang'an back then."
Li Xiuyuan thought for a while and replied: "If it weren't for the fact that all the children of the royal family are prosperous, your master would not be like this either."
He spoke very straightforwardly, and I believe the Queen could understand it.
It is extremely difficult to meet a prince or princess who was born in a royal palace, let alone to live in the desert with an old man.
Having said this, Li Xiuyuan looked at the honest monk beside him and smiled.
Pointing to the Queen who was holding a cup of spiritual tea in front of her, she said, "Your Majesty knows that I have never been to the monastery at the foot of the mountain, so I have only learned a little about Buddhism."
Li Xiuyuan who said these words was not lying. Compared with Sanzang's profound knowledge, his understanding of Buddhism was nothing.
Not to mention anything else, the Mahaprajna Sutra translated by Tripitaka was something he needed to look up to.
The honest monk was stunned. He did not expect that Li Xiuyuan would answer his question at this time.
The Queen thought about it carefully, thinking about every bit of the past, and she couldn't help but smile lightly.
Looking at the honest monk, he said, "Back then, my brother was busy planting trees, tea, and vegetables on the mountain. How could he have time to go to the temple down the mountain to practice Buddhism?"
Her explanation was simple and her meaning clear.
She didn't even tell her what her master told her back then.
If the honest monk knew that his brother had killed the eminent monk at the foot of the mountain, I don't know what his expression would be like.
This is the secret in her heart, and it is also the secret between her and Li Xiuyuan. There is no need to tell the honest monk at this time.
Even in front of the emperor, she never mentioned her brother's affairs too much.
After drinking a cup of spiritual tea, Li Xiuyuan couldn't help but feel a little disappointed when he saw that the honest monk in front of him did not fall into enlightenment like Sanzang did.
We are both Buddhists, but our xinxing is a little different.
I don’t know how much Xiaojuier Lingcha I drank in front of me, and if I drank any more, I would just drink water.
Thinking of this, Li Xiuyuan pointed to the autumn pears on the table and said, "I picked these autumn pears from the mountains yesterday. You can try them."
The queen looked at the Qiuli that had just been washed with snow water, and she looked really happy.
Thinking of the autumn pear that my brother had brewed with mountain honey... I couldn't help but reach out and pick it up, and took a bite...
When the honest monk saw that the empress had also eaten, he also picked one from the plate and stuffed it into his mouth, taking a big bite...
"Wow" sounded out, and the two of them exhaled almost at the same time.
The honest monk was a little better and could not vomit.
The queen turned her head and vomited it into the vegetable field beside her.
Then he picked up the spiritual tea in front of him and took a sip, then complained: "Brother, are you resenting Juier for not coming to the mountain to see you for so many years?"
"no."
Li Xiuyuan looked at her and replied quietly: "I went to the desert back then, and you suffered some injustices... Later, I promised you not to leave Chang'an again, and I never left again."
"This autumn pear is not to punish you, but to remind you of the time you went up the mountain, the pain of learning the piano after becoming a teacher, and the pain of your father leaving you..."
With a gentle sigh, Li Xiuyuan also picked up one and took a bite.
After savoring the bitterness, he continued: "As for the autumn pear I brewed with honey, is it somewhat similar to your current life?"
When the honest monk heard this, he was stunned and speechless.
Although Li Xiuyuan was telling the Empress about the separation of brother and sister, it was as if he was hit on the head hard with a wooden stick.
These seem to be the most simple truths in the world, but when Li Xiuyuan came out of his mouth, they were like the Sanskrit sounds of the great avenue, directly hitting his soul.
The expression on his face changed again and again.
Finally, he stood up, holding half a pear and clasping his hands together with Li Xiuyuan and the Queen.
He said seriously: "Your Majesty, I will stay here for a while. Your Excellency, please go back to White Horse Temple first. I want to think carefully about what Mr. Li said."
The queen thought about it, she was afraid that her brother would not stay overnight with the monk to practice in the mountains.
So he waved his hand and said, "You can go back to White Horse Temple first. I won't change my promise to you. Just wait and see."
The honest monk said to Li Xiuyuan again: "Thank you sir for your teaching. The monk will go down the mountain first."
Li Xiuyuan sighed softly and asked, "Would you like to have dinner before going down the mountain?"
The honest monk shook his head and said, "No, it's too late to go down the mountain. The monk has to walk all the way back to the White Horse Temple."
"See you again by fate."
Li Xiuyuan thought for a while and said: "There are scriptures translated by Tripitaka in Yuhua Temple. The monks can study and practice them when they have nothing to do."
The honest monk bowed his head again and said, "Thank you sir for your advice. I'll go, monk."
After saying this, he bowed to the Queen again, then quickly walked out of the bamboo garden and headed down the mountain.
It wasn't until the honest monk left the bamboo garden and out of sight of the two of them that the Queen sighed quietly.
He said, "Brother, you scared him."
Li Xiuyuan stretched out his hand to catch a bamboo leaf as thin as a cicada's wing from the wind, and replied coldly: "I just taught him the duties of a monk."
After saying this, he held the flower in one hand and waved his hand. The thin bamboo leaves turned into a bolt of lightning and flew out of the bamboo garden.
It wasn't until a while later that a "click!" sound came from the mountain, and the queen was so frightened that she screamed: "Oh!"
The honest monk who had just stepped off the intersection was also startled. There was a "click!" followed by a branch thicker than his arm...
"Boom!" It fell on the mountain path three feet away in front of him.
Stepping forward to pick up a branch from the stone steps, the honest monk's expression suddenly changed slightly as he looked at the cut on it, which looked like it had been cut by a sword.
He could sense that the Queen and Li Xiuyuan were still sitting under the eaves making tea, while the two maids were cleaning the house behind. Where did this sword come from?
The expression on his face changed again and again. Finally, the honest monk put down the branch and hurried down the mountain.
Li Xiuyuan couldn't help but laugh when he heard the empress in front of him scream: "What about the swordsmanship your master taught you back then? Is it possible that you have forgotten all about it?"
