Just when Sanzang led the horse away slowly, getting further and further away from the two of them.
The little monk on the horse woke up instantly, opened his lips full of blood bubbles and asked with difficulty: "Brother, is it dangerous for Senior Brother Sanzang to go alone?"
Li Xiuyuan replied quietly: "That's his road. Let's take a rest here and I'll go get water at night."
After that, he pulled the two horses and went in the opposite direction.
Fetching water was extremely difficult for Sanzang, but it was just something he did casually.
Even so, he couldn't take action for Sanzang.
There is Sanzang's own practice here, and there is also the cause and effect between Sanzang and the first beacon guard. The Bodhisattva cannot yet take action for Sanzang, let alone him.
The little monk's lips moved: "Brother, I want to drink water."
Li Xiuyuan looked up at the setting sun in the west and replied quietly: "Don't worry, the sun has set. Let's find a place to spend the night first."
This is also the method that Xiaohu taught him back then. To spend the night in the desert, he must find a place with leeward wind no matter what.
The little monk nodded and tried his best to say: "Brother, isn't Wuliang useless?"
Shaking his head, Li Xiuyuan said softly: "No, you are very brave. Back then, my brother almost died in Tianshan due to a high fever."
The little monk chuckled and fainted again in the blink of an eye.
At this time, Li Xiuyuan's spiritual vision had already seen Sanzang walking to the water source, and was stopped by several soldiers, taking him to see their master.
The night breeze is slightly cool, just like the weather in the desert.
Finding a place behind a boxwood shelter, Li Xiuyuan took the young monk off the horse.
He spread out the sleeping bag and put him on it, letting the horse lie down quietly on the ground, and took out all the water bags, including the little monk's water bag.
Two more runes were pasted on the young monk's body to make him invisible.
Then he walked all the way to the water source under the first beacon. A man can't drink water without a horse. He had to feed the horse first, and then think about how to cure the little monk in front of him.
At the moment, Li Xiuyuan is an invisible person to the soldiers guarding the beacon.
He could see the soldiers holding bows and arrows, staring at the water source from time to time, but the soldiers only saw a monotonous scene.
Not even a bird.
After fetching water, feeding the horse, and feeding the little monk some water, he touched his still hot head and sighed softly.
He didn't know how many days Sanzang would stay here, so he returned to the water source and continued to fetch water.
While pouring spring water into the water bag, he released his spiritual consciousness and watched the conversation between Sanzang in the beacon and Wang Xiang, the general guarding the beacon.
Wang Xiang, a guard with a military background, looked at Sanzang, whose lips were cracked and looking lost, and he waved his hand to retreat all his men.
A bowl of water was handed over, and Sanzang took it with his hands clasped together in gratitude, and drank it carefully one sip after another.
Wang Xiang patted his thigh, looked at Sanzang and asked, "Monk, you are so brave. Don't you know that your portrait has been sent to Wufeng and the entire border to the west?"
"Didn't you see bones in the desert along the way? Aren't you afraid?"
Wang Xiang twisted his neck and shouted in a low voice: "What's so good about this damn place? You actually came all the way here to find death."
Like Li Chang, the governor of Guazhou, Wang Xiang, a general, did not regard Sanzang as a wanted fugitive in Liangzhou.
Perhaps in his opinion, it was already a great thing that Sanzang could reach this point alive.
Handing the steamed wowotou to Sanzang, Wang Xiang continued: "I'm different from Li Chang. I don't understand Buddhism. I just feel worthless for you."
Sanzang murmured in reply: "I once made a great wish to go to Tianzhu to retrieve the true scriptures."
Wang Xiang was stunned for a moment, then paused and smiled and said: "Everyone talks about becoming a monk, observing the precepts, and observing freedom. Monk, are you comfortable? It hurts to see the frost on your face." Sanzang took a bite of the steamed bun in his hand and replied. Said: "Being at ease with one's own mind, as the Buddha realized while sitting under the Bodhi tree for several years, the four true truths of the origin of suffering and the path to annihilation..."
Wang Xiang picked up the bowl, took a sip of water, and asked, "What are the four true truths?"
Tripitaka replied: "The Four True Truths are the truth of suffering, the truth of origin, the truth of cessation, and the truth of path realized by the Buddha. Life is inherently suffering, and the Buddha wants us to know the cause of suffering, the method to eliminate suffering, and achieve the goal of nirvana."
The Buddha said that the wonderful meaning of the Four Truths is called the Three Transformations and Twelve Elements.
The first is to show the phase rotation. The contents of the Four Noble Truths are: This is suffering, which is compelling; This is collection, which attracts sensibility; This is cessation, which can be verified; This is the Tao, which can be cultivated.
The second is to persuade people to practice and change. Disciples are advised to practice the Four Noble Truths, which are: This is suffering, which you should know; this is the accumulation, you should eliminate it; this is the cessation, you should realize it; this is the path, you should cultivate it.
The third is self-certification transfer. The Buddha said that since you have realized the Four Truths, if you work hard and diligently, you will be able to realize the Four Truths.
It is: This is suffering, I have known it; This is the collection, I have eliminated it; This is the cessation, I have realized it; This is the path, I have cultivated it.
At this point, Sanzang explained quietly: "To put it simply, it means troubles and relief."
"Trouble, relief..." Wang Xiang murmured.
"Trouble, relief..."
Li Xiuyuan by the water source looked up at the night sky and smiled faintly.
He murmured to himself: "There is no way to destroy suffering, no wisdom, and no gain. Because there is no gain, Bodhisattva, it seems that Tripitaka's practice in Buddhism is really good."
There was no reply from the Bodhisattva in the sky, only the stars in the sky quietly illuminated this world.
Back at the camp, I fed the horses some bean cakes and drank some water.
While saying: "While there is enough water here, you can open your belly and drink. It's enough."
Ma'er kissed his hand gently to express her gratitude.
The young monk behind him struggled to sit up, looked at him and asked, "Brother, where is my senior brother Sanzang?"
Li Xiuyuan handed the water bottle over and asked the young monk to drink a few more sips.
Then he took out the dry food and handed it to him, and said quietly: "The guard here is pretty good. He didn't tie him up or beat him. He shouldn't be in trouble for Sanzang."
After he finished, he reached out and touched his head, sighed and said, "Wuliang, does your head still hurt?"
The little monk nodded, took a bite of the cake, and said with a smile: "After drinking so much water, it seems that the pain is not that bad."
Li Xiuyuan smiled lightly: "When you get better, you should grow up."
Wuliang was stunned and asked in confusion: "Wuliang seems to have grown up a lot compared to when he just met his brother."
"It's not enough."
Li Xiuyuan said softly: "Right now, you can't defeat wild wolves or bandits in the desert. How can you protect yourself and your senior brother?"
The little monk thought for a while and smiled: "Then Wuliang eat more food and gain more strength."
"Eat something. Take a nap when you're full. Maybe you'll feel better when you wake up tomorrow."
After much deliberation, Li Xiuyuan could only ask his master what was going on with the little monk.
I dare not use elixirs and wines casually, for fear that the young monk will be too weak and will not be able to replenish his weakness.
The little monk is quite well-behaved. Since his brother has retrieved the water, he doesn't seem to be dying of thirst.
While eating, he smiled and said: "Brother, when there is a market ahead, we have to go shopping."
Li Xiuyuan touched his head and smiled: "I am just like you."
It was night, the wind was calm, and the little monk who had eaten his fill fell asleep quietly.
For fear of causing trouble, the two of them did not light a fire, and Li Xiuyuan refrained from making a cup of tea to comfort himself.
There was no whine of wind, and no howling of wolves. Only the gurgling water and the snoring of the little monk could be heard in the distance.
Li Xiuyuan picked up the water bag and took a sip. This time, Li Xiuyuan even filled the empty wine jars with water.
When we reached the depths of the desert, we realized that the most precious thing was not dry food or spiritual wine, but the most ordinary bag of water.
Looking at the starry sky, he couldn't help but sigh quietly: "Master, please give me an idea."
He didn't know where the old monk was. If the old monk was there, he might be able to solve the trouble at hand with a wave of his hand.
After all, the young monk is also a disciple of Buddhism.
After a long time, the voice of the old Taoist priest came from the divine sea: "Aren't you tired of meddling in so many other things?"
Li Xiuyuan shook his head: "Since I'm on my way to the west, I can't just watch him suffer."
The old Taoist priest looked at the young monk in his sleep and couldn't help laughing: "How about you go to the abyss and become Ksitigarbha? Isn't that what the Bodhisattva said?"
"Master, they all say that people in the world are too naive, and most of them don't realize their suffering. But I see Li Chang, the governor of Guazhou, and Wang Xiang, the guard here, who are soldiers, but they also have compassion..."
Li Xiuyuan shook his head: "This disciple has already experienced the suffering of Ksitigarbha, and I don't want to suffer it again."
The old Taoist priest sighed and replied: "Everyone can become a Buddha, and everyone can enter the Tao. It's just that everyone's opportunities are different. Do you want to give them some enlightenment?"
Sighing, Li Xiuyuan replied quietly: "Sanzang has already made it very clear that when my disciples were as old as him, they did not practice Buddhism as deeply as he did."
Old Taoist priest: "That means you are an idiot and have wasted so many years in the temple."
"When I was in Prajna Temple, I couldn't practice peacefully for several years. I was always involved in worldly affairs and couldn't help myself. What can I do?"
Li Xiuyuan thought of the days in the Five Domains and couldn't help complaining: "Isn't it that I was forced to fight two wars?"
Thinking about his best ten years, half of the time he had to work for the royal family, but in the end he didn't get any benefits in Tianluo City.
Think about it, it’s really not worth it.
Fortunately, he became a brother with the eldest prince, otherwise he would have wanted to slap himself a few times.
"Master, there is nothing we can do about Wuliang, a disciple with a high fever. We can't just watch him go on like this." After taking a look at the young monk's appearance, Li Xiuyuan couldn't help it.
"What do you want?" the old Taoist priest asked quietly, looking at the sleeping little monk.
Li Xiuyuan thought for a while and replied: "Either ask the master to take action, or ask the master to take out a piece of the spiritual peach prepared by the disciple in Tianyu City."
】
He thought over and over in his mind, wondering whether those spiritual wines could cure the young monk's current illness.
And that Lingtao can definitely do it.
The young monk had been burning for several days. Even at that time, he was not as hard as the young monk.
The old Taoist priest shook his head: "You also know that only by experiencing pain and suffering can you grow up, let alone the little monk in front of you."
Having said that, the old Taoist priest still waved his hand.
Li Xiuyuan looked at the peach meat in his hand quietly, as if he had returned to Tianyu City.
I couldn't help but sigh quietly: "It turns out that this disciple wanted to ask the Bodhisattva to take action, but I didn't expect you to come, Master."
"That's ridiculous! How many times have you told me this with all your ears to the teacher?"
The old Taoist priest was so angry that he cursed: "It is better to seek help from others than from yourself, you worthless guy."
Li Xiuyuan chuckled: "Master is not an outsider, so he is not asking for help."
"It's been a long journey, and I see that the Tang Dynasty is going to war again. Fortunately, you didn't be an idiot this time, and you didn't interfere. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother to care about you..."
Waving his hand, the voice of the old Taoist priest was no longer heard in the divine sea.
"Are we going to fight again?"
Li Xiuyuan murmured to himself: "It seems that the Turkic Khan King is in trouble, haha."
Taking a small kettle, Li Xiuyuan tore up the preserved peach meat in his hand and threw it in. He filled another pot of water and gave it to the young monk to drink when he woke up.
He wouldn't dare to give this guy peach meat. If he breaks through several levels of cultivation without being replenished, how could he kill the young monk?
Looking at the starry sky, I couldn't help but sigh secretly.
The Turks that Liu Bang and Zhang Liang failed to eliminate back then seemed to be wiped out by the Emperor of the Tang Dynasty with a wave of his hand.
