The old Taoist exclaimed when he heard this: "Who is Mumu? What kind of Bodhisattva is she?"
"Mumu is my sister, she is my own Bodhisattva."
Putting down the old Taoist on his back, Li Xiuyuan looked back at Liangzhou City amid the lights of thousands of houses, looked up to the sky and shouted: "I have the ambition to go to the barren mountain today."
While the old Taoist was stunned, a beam of starlight fell from the night sky and shone quietly on Li Xiuyuan.
For a time, countless faint rays of light were emitted from all over his body.
The old Taoist couldn't help but murmured: "Bodhisattva, come out and see the gods."
He had to carry a veteran on his back all the way up, and Li Xiuyuan didn't even take a sip of water.
The climb from the foot of the mountain seems extremely difficult.
It wasn't until he stepped over the abyss and stood on the top of the mountain that he took out his kettle and drank. He saw Liangzhou City and Dayun Temple in his eyes.
Jin Wuliang was making tea and discussing Taoism with Sanzang in the Zen room, and he had already stepped onto the three thousand stone steps.
The old Taoist looked at the young man bathing in the starry sky. This was the first time he had seen such a scene. The difficulty of climbing the mountain today had exceeded his imagination.
A voice came from the divine sea: "This kid is really good. I don't think I can trouble him tomorrow."
The old Taoist shook his head: "I wonder if he will go?"
"That's your business. I only ask about the outcome, not the process." The voice in the sea of gods smiled slightly and gradually disappeared.
The old Taoist shook his head, looked at Li Xiuyuan in front of him and smiled bitterly.
I couldn't help nagging: "I want to see it too."
An old man and a young man stood quietly on the top of the mountain for a quarter of an hour. After Li Xiuyuan recovered some strength, he looked at the old man and asked: "Senior, where is your home?"
The old Taoist sighed and said, "Come with me." After that, he walked forward.
Li Xiuyuan looked up and saw calmness in front of him. The stars were shining on a large lake not far away, and the lake was sparkling.
There is a wooden house not far from the lake, which must be the residence of the old Taoist.
While walking, Li Xiuyuan asked: "Shouldn't there be a Taoist temple here?"
He originally thought that there would be a mysterious Taoist temple on top of this peak, where he could study the Tao Te Ching taught by his master, but he never expected that it would turn out to be just an ordinary wooden house.
The two of them walked forward and came to the terrace in front of the wooden house by the lake.
He saw a large mountain across the lake, with water flowing down the mountain. Although he couldn't hear the sound of the flowing water, he felt a mysterious aura.
After coming to sit down at the stone table outside the house, the old Taoist said calmly: "Who said there must be a Taoist temple on the top of the mountain?"
After he finished speaking, he pointed to the mountain across the lake and said, "Every mountain is higher than the other. What's not about practicing? Are you too tired from climbing mountains and have become an idiot?"
His expression remained unchanged, but Li Xiuyuan felt an uproar in his heart.
I thought to myself, are you digging pits one after another for me to jump into?
However, after going through three thousand stone steps, he no longer cares about the old way digging another hole for him. He has the confidence to conquer them one by one.
The old Taoist priest in front of him took out a basin of meat from the wooden house and couldn't help but ask: "Is this... could it be that you just came down the mountain?"
"You are very good."
The old Taoist looked at him and said calmly: "After I cooked the meat, I realized that I had drunk all the wine, so I thought about going down the mountain to buy wine, but I didn't expect that I missed my step and almost died."
Even someone like Lao Dao who refused to accept anyone could not help but feel happy when he looked at Li Xiuyuan in front of him.
Li Xiuyuan sighed after hearing this, took out a jar of wine made from black beans, slapped it on the table.
He said quietly: "For the sake of your unwillingness to save me, I will buy you a drink."
The old Taoist laughed, holding the wine jar and pouring wine into the two bowls on the table. After thinking about it, he got up and went inside to light a lantern and hang it under the eaves.
Suddenly, there was a touch of life on the terrace and on the edge of the big lake.
The night was filled with mist, but it couldn't invade Laodao's terrace. I took a brief sip of the wine in the bowl.
The old Taoist couldn't help but ask: "Where did this wine come from? Why have I never drank it before?"
Leaning on the chair, Li Xiuyuan smiled lightly: "I brewed this myself, how could you have ever drank it, senior?"
The old Taoist nodded, drank all the wine in the bowl in one gulp, and shouted: "I say Bodhisattva, this is good wine!"
Before he could speak, Li Xiuyuan tilted his head, leaned on the recliner and stopped talking.
This day was the most tiring day for him.
Carrying a veteran who was much heavier than him, he had to face the test of many magic circles on the mountain road in front of him, and he had to pass all the way and finally climbed to the top of the mountain.
】
"Three thousand stone steps are like three thousand avenues, which tested his physical strength and understanding, not to mention his ability to use softness to overcome strength, so that he could in turn cut water with his sword."
Looking at Li Xiuyuan under the eaves, the Bodhisattva in the room sighed.
He said to the old Taoist priest who walked out of the house: "You underestimated this guy."
The sudden heavy rain in the night sky lasted for an hour and gradually stopped.
The old Taoist priest picked up the spiritual tea cooked by the Bodhisattva and said: "When I came down the mountain, I didn't expect to meet this guy. I really wanted to buy a jar of wine in Liangzhou City and invite the Bodhisattva to come and drink."
The Bodhisattva shook his head and replied quietly: "Whether it is intentional or not, the young man in front of you is an interesting guy. Don't deceive him."
"How is that possible? Isn't it just a magical medicine?"
The old Taoist priest said unwillingly: "As long as he can go to the top of your mountain tomorrow, you can give him one more plant, not just two. You can't be greedy." "
The Bodhisattva smiled lightly: "When you told him at the foot of the mountain, you didn't involve me."
The old Taoist stiffened his neck and replied: "What are you afraid of? He is still young and has many debts."
Even so, the old Taoist sighed leisurely and said, "I didn't expect that he actually carried me up the three thousand stone steps."
The Bodhisattva smiled faintly: "So, now you should want to see what he will look like tomorrow, right?"
The old Taoist shook his head: "I can't see it."
…
That night, Li Xiuyuan dreamed again.
In the dream, he came to a purple bamboo forest. In the quiet bamboo shed sat a Bodhisattva whose face could not be seen clearly.
A Bodhisattva that is completely different from Ksitigarbha. There is no golden light shining on his body, but he gives people a kind of compassionate and peaceful impression.
Stepping forward and bowing his hands in greeting, Li Xiuyuan asked, "Where does the Bodhisattva come from? Where are you going?"
The Bodhisattva smiled faintly when he heard this, looked at Li Xiuyuan and replied: "Of course I come from where I came from and go to where I want to go, aren't you?"
Li Xiuyuan laughed when he heard this: "That's true, it's the junior who talks too much." After saying that, he sat down at the table in front of the Bodhisattva.
I don't think so. I have never seen any other Bodhisattvas except Ksitigarbha. How could I meet such a mysterious Bodhisattva whose face could not be seen clearly on the Great Wilderness Mountain?
Then he asked: "I wonder if the Bodhisattva came to see Xiu Yuan and gave him any instructions?"
The Bodhisattva sighed, looked at him and asked quietly: "Why do you practice, and where will you go after practicing? Did you encounter any doubts on the way to practice?"
Li Xiuyuan was stunned, and suddenly thought of the fact that he had transformed into a fish and was released from the hands of a businessman, and had to escape from the fishing net set by a group of greedy people.
At that moment, I couldn't help but murmur to myself: "Excuse me, Bodhisattva, how can I avoid being a fish caught in the net?"
The Bodhisattva smiled faintly, stretched out his hand and poured him a cup of spiritual tea: "Drink the tea first."
Li Xiuyuan picked up the cup and took a sip, and then laughed: "I didn't expect that purple bamboo leaves can also be fried to make spiritual tea. It has something in common with my use of purple bamboo to make wine."
The Bodhisattva laughed when he heard this: "Where have you made wine from purple bamboo? What about the wine?"
"That year, there was a constellation called Xuanwu Continent... That year there were no apricot blossoms on the mountain. I thought the peach blossoms were too greasy, so I brewed several jars of wine using the young purple bamboo leaves that had just grown on Zhufeng Peak."
"In that place, the juniors can't help coming and going, and even if they have some, they can't drink."
Speaking of this, Li Xiuyuan smiled bitterly and said: "This junior has a wine shop in Chang'an of the Tang Dynasty. He brewed some spiritual wine with the apricot flowers in spring. If the Bodhisattva is free next year, you can go and taste it."
After hearing the words, the Bodhisattva nodded and replied: "Let's talk about fish. If there are fish in the world, there will be fishing nets. This is the law of heaven and earth."
"How can I not become a fish in the net? Isn't there any way to change my destiny?"
Holding the spirit tea, Li Xiuyuan frowned slightly.
The Bodhisattva nodded and replied: "You can fight for the crossing! Have you ever thought that if you don't cross, you will sink into the abyss? Even if you fight for the crossing, you will face various dangers."
"There will be evil ghosts and evil spirits chasing you, trying to take your life; there are still unknown dangers in the sea of suffering, and countless demons and monsters want to devour you..."
Picking up the spiritual tea, the Bodhisattva took a sip and said: "At this moment, you can only escape from the sea of suffering by flying up to the clouds, heading to the other shore without looking back, and leaping from the sea of suffering to the other shore."
Li Xiuyuan nodded and responded: "The purpose of building a net in the bitter sea is naturally to catch fish like me. The purpose of fighting for the crossing is to reach the other shore, hoping that one day I can fish in the heavens..."
When the Bodhisattva heard this, he laughed lightly and added some spiritual tea into Li Xiuyuan's cup.
Said: "Since you understand this truth, you should stand up and fight for it."
"It is said that the Tripitaka monk in the mountain temple is going to Tianzhu to obtain Buddhist scriptures. How do you plan to arrange his trip? Is it possible that you will accompany him on the journey of thousands of miles?"
When the Bodhisattva mentioned Tripitaka, he couldn't help but frown slightly.
Shaking his head, Li Xiuyuan replied softly: "I have asked Wuliang to change his face to accompany Sanzang. After he sets off, I will also change my face to accompany him..."
"It's not a crisis between life and death. The younger generation won't help him get through it. This is his own practice, not the younger generation's path."
Having said this, Li Xiuyuan showed a solemn look on his face: "Sanzang's path is in the Buddhist country, which is different from that of the younger generation."
When the Bodhisattva heard the words, his face also showed compassion, and he praised: "Unexpectedly, you think a lot about Sanzang, which makes it difficult for you."
Li Xiuyuan smiled bitterly when he heard this: "If all the troubles he encounters along the way are resolved by me, then it won't be Tripitaka who is searching for scriptures, but Wuliang and I."
Thinking of Wuliang who had already entered the temple, Li Xiuyuan showed a knowing smile on his face.
Perhaps, this is his most proud move.
After drinking two cups of spiritual tea, the Bodhisattva finally asked: "Where do you plan to accompany Sanzang and then separate from him? Let him continue to Tianzhu?"
Li Xiuyuan thought for a while and replied: "Just in Broken Leaf City."
…
When he woke up in the morning, Li Xiuyuan felt refreshed and his bones no longer ached like yesterday.
There is a faint fragrance of bamboo leaves in my mouth. It seems that I really tasted the spiritual tea brewed by the Bodhisattva in my dream.
Although he fell down, he could not see the Bodhisattva's face clearly.
The old Taoist who got up early cooked a pot of meat porridge, looked at him and said with a smile: "Eat quickly. Once you are full, you will have the strength to continue the challenge."
Li Xiuyuan walked down the terrace and went to wash up by the lake.
While asking: "Senior, you came to torture me with that Bodhisattva, right?"
The old Taoist was furious when he heard this and scolded: "Don't have a villain's heart. As long as you climb to the top of the mountain when the moon rises..."
"Senior, have you ever thought about something?"
Li Xiuyuan was squatting by the lake, looking at the opposite shore which seemed not far away, and said softly: "What if I don't need your elixir?"
In Li Xiuyuan's opinion, the worst he could do was wash himself up, eat porridge and then go down the mountain.
Even if you go to Dayun Temple to make tea and chat with the old monk Huiwei, it is still much better than letting the old Taoist in front of you plot.
At least, I don't need any opportunity to break through.
When the old man heard this, he was so angry that he waved his dirty sleeves and yelled: "Boy, don't even think about throwing dirty water on me."
"Is that an agreement between you and the Bodhisattva? It has nothing to do with me? Do you think I want to swallow your elixir? Can I become an immortal by taking that elixir?"
The old Taoist was speechless for a moment, so he could only smile bitterly and said: "No."
There was something wrong with the chapter. In order not to affect the follow-up, the second chapter was changed into three chapters.
