Li Ye got up early, had breakfast, told his parents that he was going to see the old monk, and then led Agui out of the academy to the Great Buddha Temple.
Thinking that he hadn't seen the old monk for many days, Li Ye didn't hold the water bowl when he went out, and the two of them walked much faster.
I arrived at the Great Buddha Temple at the right time. When I arrived at the meditation room, I had already finished my morning lessons and had finished my fast. I was getting people to fetch water and was preparing to boil water for tea.
When Li Ye came in and saw the master, he knelt down, kowtowed three times, and paid his respects to the old monk. After taking the kettle, boiling water, warming the kettle, washing the tea, and washing the cups, the old monk lit a stream of agarwood and a cup of fragrant tea was served.
The old monk looked at Li Ye's actions with a kind face, just watching quietly, as if admiring a painting.
I saw that whether Li Ye was boiling water and adding charcoal, or warming a pot and washing tea, his shoulders did not sway, and his rhythm was unhurried and unhurried. It seemed that every movement was carefully calculated and flowed like clouds and flowing water. This was by no means a child over six years old. It can be done.
The old monk was very happy in his heart. He chanted the six-character mantra softly. He reached out to take the hot tea served by Li Ye, blew on it, and took a sip. Then he closed his eyes slightly, savoring the taste of the hot tea in his mouth that turned from bitter to sweet.
After a while, he put down the tea cup, looked at Li Ye, and said, "Looking at your behavior, you have spent some effort in practicing these days, and you have gradually become more mature."
After being praised by the master, Li Ye did not dare to like himself, but respectfully gave the old monk some hot tea.
I also followed the old monk and gently recited the six-character mantra several times. I felt extremely at ease for a moment. The Buddhist hall was solemn and self-generated, and there was actually a faint Buddha's light spreading...
The old monk murmured: "With sufficient nature and Buddha nature, and with Bodhi in your body, you can achieve enlightenment."
Li Ye clasped his hands together and replied: "This disciple is lucky enough to have a master teach him the Dharma and lead the way. He has to practice hard so that he can learn the Dao."
"Practice is not easy, and moving forward is even harder. You have to stick to your original intention and keep working hard." The old monk did not continue to praise Li Ye, but gave him a slap in the face.
Li Ye was startled, thinking of his recent practice, and couldn't help but ask: "Master, please tell me, what does it mean to keep your original intention? What is your original intention?"
Turning the Buddhist beads in his left hand, the old monk said: "The seventeenth volume of "The Huayan Sutra of Dafang Guangfo" says: "All Tathagatas in the three generations have not protected the first intention of thinking. "
For example: you practice Buddhism with your husband and your master, and you want to ride a white horse, carry justice, and walk around the world when you grow up. This is your original intention.
However, when you grow up, you will find that there are opponents in this world who are higher than you. There are sects, imperial powers, heavenly ways, and immortal ways. All these things will not allow you to be righteous, and will force you to be wronged and violate your own rights. How do you deal with acting with conscience (original intention)?
"Disciples must resist vigorously and never compromise!" Li Ye clasped his hands together with a determined heart.
"But most people will change their opinions as time changes, and there is nothing we can do about it. That's why the Buddha constantly reminds us: be good at developing your original intention, be good at protecting your original intention, always remember your original intention, and never forget your original intention."
"If you lose your original intention on the way to practice, how can you get to the other side?" The old monk's words were like drums in the evening and bells in the morning, hitting Li Ye's little heart, making waves.
Looking at the tea gradually cooling down in the cup, Li Ye added two more pieces of charcoal to the stove and water to the pot.
After thinking for a while, he said: "Master, a few days ago, I read some allusions and felt something in my heart. I don't know whether it is right or wrong. I am here to ask you for advice."
That is to say:
The body is like a bodhi tree, the mind is like a mirror stand,
Wipe it frequently to avoid dust.
Comparing the disciple's current practice, I feel it is very good. I wonder what the master thinks?
The old monk was very happy. He looked at Li Ye, who was dressed in precious clothes, and didn't know how to praise him verbally.
After thinking for a while, he endured it and replied slowly: "This is about the Bodhisattva's state of mind, which is great kindness. This is closely related to your practice. What you are practicing now is to have the self-image. What it means is The body transforms into Bodhi, and the mind is like a clear mirror.”
Li Ye thought about it carefully, and realized that it was like this. It turned out that he had always had Bodhi in mind and his heart was as clear as a mirror. Only in a short period of time could he cultivate the self-image of the "Shadowless Dharmakaya". After a few days, he would be able to Then the practitioner became a human being.
"At this time, the mind cultivates this phase, and at that time, the mind cultivates that phase." The old monk held the flowers with his fingers and struck the chime with his right hand.
He also said: "Your practice and state of mind at this time are consistent with this Buddha's visit. This is the unity of heaven and man. It is very rare. Practice well. When one day you achieve selflessness, you will understand another level of state of mind. ."
The two masters asked and answered questions, each enjoying themselves.
Li Ye gave the old monk more tea, thinking that he would go up the mountain to practice with his husband, but he had not yet practiced martial arts, so he wondered if his master would teach him?
So he said: "Master, your Majesty, I will go to the mountains with you to collect medicine and practice spiritual practice in a few days. However, apart from making tea and playing the piano, I have not practiced martial arts yet. I wonder if Master can teach me some kung fu so that I can defend myself in the mountains." ."
The old monk nodded and replied: "Originally, at your age, you are not suitable for practicing Buddhist martial arts, but since you have already established a foundation and want to go to the mountains to practice hard, I will teach you a set of boxing techniques. To defend myself.”
After speaking, he took out a scripture from behind his back and handed it to Li Ye.
Li Ye felt very magical. He took it with both hands, opened it and saw that it was "Fuhu Luohan Fist", and quickly replied: "Master, you are such a god. You know that I will come to see you today, and you have even prepared this technique for your disciples." ."
The old monk touched the white beard on his chin and said: "This is called never forgetting, and you must remember it. Don't leave for the next two days. Stay in the temple and practice well. My teacher can also give you guidance."
Li Ye nodded in agreement and said that he would stay at the Great Buddha Temple for the next two days. Then he left the Buddhist hall, and Agui was waiting outside. He called Agui over and said, "You will go to Mr. Xia's courtyard later and tell me that I will be practicing at the old monk's house these two days. You will tell my parents the same thing when you get back to the house."
Just as he was about to turn around and go back to the temple, he thought for a moment and said, "If you go back to your husband's yard and see Master Li sending gold coins, take out a hundred gold coins tomorrow and go to the market to find a tailor to come to the temple. I think The master's clothes are all worn out, so I need to buy him some new clothes."
Agui nodded and told Li Ye to be careful, then turned and left naturally.
...
Li Ye and the old monk Master and his disciples were discussing scriptures and teaching Dharma in the Buddhist hall. Li Hongxiu led Dongfang Yu'er to look for him at his husband's Zizhuyuan.
Just after the hour, Li Hongxiu took Dongfang Yu'er and Xiao Hong in a carriage and arrived at Zizhuyuan. Last night, I was only busy composing a poem for my portrait, and forgot to ask Li Ye for the song that was sung in the restaurant: A young man doesn’t know what it’s like to be sad.
Today I asked for lyrics and music by sending money.
The three of them knocked on the courtyard door, and the housekeeper came out and led the three of them into the courtyard. Through the bamboo forest in the garden, they saw the gentleman sitting in front of the hall. Dongfang Yu'er opened her eyes wide, wondering where the baby was looking for Li Ye.
Li Hongxiu walked up to the front of the hall, gave her husband a blessing, and said, "Hongxiu came uninvited and caused trouble for you."
Xiaohong followed Li Hongxiu and timidly gave her husband a blessing.
The gentleman stood up, clasped his fists in salute, pointed to the stools in front of the hall, and asked the three of them to sit down.
"You guys came just in time. I was just about to drink tea and we caught up." After that, he started to light the charcoal fire, boil water, warm the pot, wash the tea, and wash the cups.
Dongfang Yu'er opened her eyes wide and asked crisply: "Sir, where is Li Ye? Didn't I say that he was the one who made tea for you?"
While pouring the tea, the gentleman smiled and replied: "He hasn't come today yet. He may have something to do at home. He may have gone to the Great Buddha Temple to meet his old monk. I don't know."
He raised his tea cup to Li Hongxiu and asked for tea.
Li Hongxiu also raised her tea cup and nodded in thanks. I took a sip and it left a fragrant aroma in my mouth.
Looking at Mr., he thought for a while and finally spoke: "Yesterday I said I wanted to thank Li Ye. I brought it today and asked Mr. to pass it on to Li Ye."
Upon hearing this, Xiaohong lifted the bag she was holding onto the table. Five hundred gold coins are still somewhat heavy.
When Dongfang Yu'er heard that Li Ye was not here, she thought that she could no longer share the money with the young lady from the General's Mansion. My little head turned around and I had to think of a way. "Auntie, didn't you say that Li Ye also has lyrics for a song? He wants to find it for Xiaohong and the others to learn to sing."
After hearing this, the gentleman smiled and said nothing, but just drank tea by himself.
When Li Hongxiu heard this, she pretended to be angry and glared at Dongfang Yu'er, thinking that her niece understood her.
Looking at the husband, he said: "Some time ago, I heard from Boss Tang of the Medicine Pavilion that my husband and Li Ye wrote a new song, filled in the music and sang it in the garden. The passers-by on the road outside the yard said it was beautiful. "
When he was done, he took out the small wooden box from behind, picked it up with both hands and handed it to the gentleman. "This is the leftover agarwood from when I was making the piano a few years ago. I asked someone to make some incense. I will share it with my husband today. Please accept it."
Mr. Ting quickly took it with both hands, sniffed it gently, and murmured: "This gift is too precious, Mo Yu can't accept it!" He wanted to return it to Li Hongxiu.
Li Hongxiu Feng's eyes widened and she was a little anxious. "It's worth giving a good gift to someone who likes and understands it. Besides, you are Li Ye's husband. Yu'er calls him brother. We are all a family, so don't be polite."
Hearing this, the husband had no choice but to put it in front of the table, caressing the wooden box, and said softly: "Treasure the agarwood of the years for yourself."
With emotion, the gentleman added more tea to the three of them, glanced at Dongfang Yu'er, then looked at Li Hongxiu, and said: "I know the reason why you came today is to want "The Ugly Slave" written by Li Ye. "After taking a sip of tea, the gentleman chanted:
Young people don’t know what it’s like to be sad
Fall in love with the upper floors. Fall in love with upstairs
To compose new words and express sorrow
Now I know all the sorrow
If you want to say it, give it up. Stop talking
But it’s cool and it’s autumn
...
Although Li Ye is not here today, after my husband read this poem, he seemed to have returned to that afternoon when he and Li Ye played the piano and sang. The sun was shining slantingly and the fragrance was lingering...
After Li Hongxiu finished speaking what her husband had read, she sat blankly in front of the hall and murmured: "If you want to say it, stop it. If you want to say it, stop it..." When you are young and fall in love with a building, who has never had a frivolous time? .
Where are my younger years? Where did it go.
Li Hongxiu held the tea cup and murmured softly.
