It was also the predecessors who paved the way, and the Buddhist teachings were already perfect. In addition, they learned from each other's strong points and compensated for their weaknesses. Even regardless of Buddhism, they did not let go of the essence of Confucianism and Taoism.
Otherwise, even if Fa Hai is talented, it will be difficult to create it out of thin air.
"Consciousness Only Sect"... although at the moment
The "Consciousness Only Sect" is just an idea in Fa Hai's mind, and it has not yet truly established a sect in the three realms, but this is undoubtedly only a matter of time.
As soon as this debate on Buddhism in Lingshan is over, Fahai plans to return to Chang'an and establish the lineage of the Consciousness-only Sect at Ci'en Temple.
And we must learn lessons, not only to explore the true mystery of Buddhism, but also to base ourselves on sentient beings in the three realms.
Otherwise, no matter how exquisite and profound the Dharma is, if it cannot benefit the people, it will be like a castle in the air. Without a foundation, it will naturally not last long.
This is one of the reasons why Zen and Jing sects have always been able to flourish. It is because for all living beings in the three realms... learning these two Buddhist sects does not seem to require too profound Buddhist teachings. One talks about sudden enlightenment... and the other Just recite the Buddha's name in your heart.
But those who are truly proficient in Buddhism will naturally know that the truth is not so superficial. The essence of the two schools of Zen and Purity is not as simple as it seems on the surface.
As for why it became like this when it spread to the human world, the reasons are quite complicated.
Perhaps it is because of the ulterior motives of the preachers; or it is the innate laziness of sentient beings in the three realms; or it is the choice made by the Buddhist sect itself for incense... But no matter what, this structure is still relatively reasonable, and ordinary people chant the Buddha's name To be kind and to study Buddhism, it is natural to leave it to professionals.
After all, not everyone has such a high level of wisdom that they can make great achievements in studying Buddhism... For most people, it is very rare to understand the meaning of Buddhist scriptures.
A word from Tripitaka
"Consciousness is the only dharma" also made the monks in the Mahavira Palace understand his position. Pay attention to the law and be based on practice.
This is what Sanzang did during his journey to the west, so there were no surprises for anyone.
And this Consciousness Only of Ten Thousand Dharmas is originally the teaching of the Tianzhu Yujiaxing Sect, but the status of the monks of this sect in Lingshan is not high... After all, their ancestor is Maitreya.
The Lord of Lingshan is Tathagata Buddha. Maitreya is the great disciple of two saints in the Western religion, and it goes without saying much about his talent. Ever since Lao Tzu turned into a beggar and established Mahayana Buddhism in Lingshan... the incarnation of the saint Chunti, Uparatha Buddha, passed away while seated. He himself was not idle either.
Since it is inevitable that Mahayana teachings will replace Hinayana teachings...then if the Tathagata and the three great masters can deduce Mahayana teachings, why can't I, an authentic Buddhist sect, not do the same?
As the future Buddha, Maitreya Buddha is always smiling, and people often say that he has a big belly... but it seems that the talent and talent of this East-born Buddha are always ignored because of this.
Maitreya Buddha heard this
After "Consciousness Only", I felt a little sigh in my heart, and even subconsciously looked at the Tathagata Buddha on the side... I always felt that there was something strange about it.
Although Jin Chanzi was a bit rebellious in Lingshan back then...but compared to Sanzang today, he was still a step behind.
Tathagata Buddha felt the gaze of Maitreya Buddha, turned his head and looked over. He saw the corners of Maitreya Buddha's mouth curled up and his eyes narrowed... For a moment, he didn't know what to say.
Amitabha. Maitreya Buddha recited the Buddha's name in his heart. Fortunately, he was gifted with a smile, otherwise he would not be able to explain it in words at this moment.
Hahahaha - Tathagata Buddha's second disciple actually learned his own Mahayana Buddhism after reincarnation. Is there anything more joyful than this today?
Maitreya Buddha clasped his hands together, nodded slightly towards the Buddha, and then turned his attention to Sanzang, saying in his heart: Even Huang Mei'er has never seriously understood his own Mahayana Buddhism, but he didn't expect to be recognized by you.
At this moment, Maitreya Buddha, who originally had no ill feelings toward Tripitaka, began to appreciate him even more. He even thought it was a very wise choice for Tathagata Buddha to let Sanzang take over Lingshan.
And compared to the scheming master Zhunti Saint, Maitreya's temperament is obviously more inclined to the teacher to guide the saint, and he has the tendency to remain unchanged in response to all changes... Of course, in Maitreya's heart, he also regards the great development of the West as the top priority event.
As the future Buddha, he naturally has to
Make plans for the “future”. And if Sanzang can really take over Lingshan and become the new Buddha... the whole atmosphere of Buddhism will take on a completely new look.
There is no doubt about this. Guanyin Bodhisattva also saw the subtle look between Tathagata Buddha and Maitreya Buddha... She was also a little surprised by this. Although Sanzang had been doing this all the way, this time he was in the main hall in front of the Buddha and the monks. Speaking of this, Guanyin Bodhisattva couldn't help but sigh in his heart: Tripitaka is so sincere that he is no better than a poor monk!
The Great Sun Tathagata even smiled and said: "Unexpectedly, the Mahayana practiced by Sanzang was actually transmitted from the east..." The Peacock King Ming on the side also rarely agreed: "Sanzang originally came from the Eastern Tang Dynasty. "." The way Medicine Buddha looked at Senior Brother Maitreya Buddha was also very different. That look seemed to say: Senior Brother, when did you do this?
He took Tripitaka under his wing without any sound...even I didn't know? Could it be that the yellow-browed boy and the monkey who went to your Maitreya Pure Land to block the door were just a cover-up to deceive others?
In fact, not to mention that Medicine Buddha didn't know about it, even Maitreya Buddha himself didn't know about it either. It was completely unexpected.
All we can say is that Tripitaka is worthy of being Tripitaka, he can always surprise people, and he never knows when he will bring surprises to people.
because of one sentence
"All dharma is only consciousness" made the atmosphere in the Mahavira Palace slightly condensed at this moment. Except for a few Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the rest of the monks couldn't help but hold their breath.
But Fahai himself was not shaken by this. He doesn't care what he learned
Whose hand did "Buddhism" come from? As long as this sect
"Buddhism" has not gone astray in essence, so for Fahai, it is the best spiritual food.
What's more, even some
In Fahai's view, "evil heretics" are not without their merits. No matter how bad they are, they can still be viewed with a dialectical mind.
As the saying goes, choose the good ones and follow them, and change the bad ones... This is exactly the case. As for whether he will be affected by this, Fahai thinks there shouldn't be any big problem. After all, even the great sage of the demon world will be horrified by his own demonic nature... Even if he learns wrongly and goes astray, he can still Where is it crooked?
Originally it was just a discussion of Hinayana Buddhism, but then it led to the phrase Tripitaka
"Consciousness is the only thing that governs all dharmas." At this time, only Maitreya Buddha wanted to know the follow-up the most, so after guiding the Buddha back to his seat, he walked down the lotus platform with a smile, came to Sanzang, and said with a smile: "The yellow eyebrows of my sect are naughty, and they are blocking Xiao Xitian. ..But it has caused you a lot of trouble?" Fahai took a few breaths and slowly said: "King Huangmei is not that much trouble...It's just that the young monk thought that he would send Huangmei into reincarnation. To induce the Buddha to take action, the trouble should be with the Buddha... But I didn't expect that even if Wukong was sent to the door that day, the Buddha would always avoid seeing him." After hearing Tripitaka's bold words, the monks in the hall seemed to have become accustomed to it.
Just now he said that he had learned the Dharma of Maitreya Buddha, but this last step shows that he used the yellow-browed boy as a bait to catch Maitreya Buddha... He almost became
The "victim" Lingji Bodhisattva saw this scene and sighed in his heart: As expected of you, Tang Sanzang! Even because of this sentence, his frustrated heart suddenly calmed down a lot.
Fahai was not a smooth person at first. The reason why he seemed kind sometimes was because he temporarily tempered his sharp edges when facing ordinary beings.
And in this great palace, Fahai's true nature was gradually released. Maybe it's Jin Chanzi's
"Rebellion" comes first, under preconceptions... even
"Sanzang" was a bit unruly, but no one would find it strange. On the contrary, I still feel
After ten reincarnations, "Golden Chanzi" has a very restrained temper. Now he only said a few things. In the past, he didn't know what trouble he was going to cause.
"Huang Mei went down to earth secretly and has already suffered retribution. This is his fate." Maitreya Buddha said to Sanzang: "As for why the poor monk avoids you master and disciple... maybe it is because he is afraid of trouble, and even more afraid of becoming trouble. ." Maitreya Buddha is also very magnanimous, just like his appearance with his breasts exposed.
"Before, you discussed the Hinayana teachings with the Buddha Jie Yin..." Maitreya looked at Sanzang and asked,
"Now are you willing to discuss the Mahayana teachings with this poor monk?"
"Please—!" To study the Dharma was Tripitaka's intention to go to Lingshan again. Besides, if he could study the Dharma with Maitreya Buddha, why not do it?
The Consciousness Only Sect was originally inspired by the Yuga Sect of Maitreya Buddha. Similar, but never identical.
Maitreya Buddha stretched out his hand, spread his fingers, and made a five sign in front of Sanzang. Fahai returned the favor
"Three" gesture. When Bajie saw this scene, he was confused and asked Wu Jing who was beside him: "Junior Brother Sha, what are Master and Maitreya Buddha doing... What do those two gestures mean?" He is proficient in various Buddhist sects. Wu Jing immediately explained with a smile: "Second senior brother, I don't know something. What Master just said, 'Consciousness alone' is one of the ten thousand things, is exactly one of the teachings of the Yuga Sect of Buddhism, and the first ancestor of the Yuga Sect is Maitreya Buddha. "
"Now that Maitreya Buddha and Master are going to discuss Mahayana Buddhism, they should start from the Yugaxing school." Wujing also opened his hand and stretched out five fingers.
"In my humble opinion, the number five of Maitreya Buddha may represent one of the other teachings of the Yugaxing sect - the five dharma."
"I also know these five pharaoh pigs." After listening to Junior Brother Sha's words, Bajie nodded and said,
"The so-called five dharmas are the collection of all dharmas in the world and beyond. The first is name, the second is appearance, the third is discrimination, the fourth is right wisdom, and the fifth is likeness." After saying that, Bajie puffed up his chest and seemed to Speaking of old pigs, I am not unlearned. I followed Master all the way west and learned a lot of real things.
Bajie didn't wait for Junior Brother Sha to continue speaking, so he directly said, "Presumably the three fingers that Master extended are the three self-natures, right?"
"Yes!" The five dharmas and three self-natures are another teaching of Yuga Sect. In addition, there are eight consciousnesses and two no-self... which are the general outline, with the purpose of turning consciousness into wisdom and turning to reliance.
After Maitreya Buddha and Tripitaka each made a few more gestures, they began to discuss each one based on this.
Most of the time it was Maitreya Buddha who asked, and Tripitaka explained. The monks in Lingshan Mountain had previously
"Consciousness-only theory" is obviously not very proficient in it. The vast majority of monks probably only understand it at best, and some even have only heard of the name and have never paid attention to its content.
Of course, this is also a normal phenomenon. The reason why Maitreya Buddha inquired in detail was to take advantage of this opportunity to show the monks in Lingshan
The Mahayana Buddhism of the "Yogaga Sect", and Fa Hai's willingness to cooperate, also Xiang Xiang wanted to take this opportunity to export to the monks in Lingshan.
The connotation of "Consciousness Only Sect" paved the way for him to establish a sect in the future. Therefore, Fahai is telling
When the doctrines of the "Yoga Sect" are advocated, they are interspersed with the teachings of the Consciousness-Only Sect.
"The Theory of Three Natures",
"Five Levels of Viewing" and
"Yin Ming theory" and so on, and after the lecture, Fahai also used this to put forward
On the theory that "the truth is only knowledge", all the Buddhas in Lingshan are invited to argue. That's it. Still thinking about it
The "consciousness-only" Guanyin Bodhisattva suddenly realized that this was the true intention of Tripitaka. This Tang Sanzang really wanted to subdue the monks in Lingshan through Buddhism!
Not long after - the door of the Mahavira Palace, which was originally closed, slowly opened. Jiaye and Anuo, who were guarding the door, stood up quickly. When they were about to enter, they saw the Buddha sending a Dharma post in front of them. Then they heard the Buddha's words: "Sanzang made a theory and invited the monks in Lingshan to debate it. The theory can be broken." Then, enter the main hall." Then, the Dharma post turned into thousands of clones and scattered throughout Lingshan Mountain.
Jia Ye and A Nuo looked at one picture together and saw that it read:——
"Zong: The true reason is that it is extremely formed and is inseparable from eye consciousness: because: since the third day of Xu Chu, the eyes have not captured it; metaphor: it is like eye consciousness." Difficult.
It’s hard to see at a glance. Not to mention breaking the theory, even if you want to understand the connotation of Master Tripitaka's theory, it is already extremely difficult.
This question cannot be discussed by any eminent monk who is not an expert in Buddhism. Jia Ye and A Nuo looked at each other. They had a tacit understanding, but they did not see any embarrassment in each other's eyes. Instead, they saw a little bit of joy... Such emotions were not due to other reasons, but because of this.
After the "thesis" was delivered to them, they could justifiably not go into the Mahavira Hall... Buddha, it's not that we two brothers and sisters don't go back, it's because our Dharma is low and we can't break Master Tripitaka's thesis.
The success of this theory is still based on the
On top of "Consciousness Only Theory". remove
In addition to "all dharmas are only consciousness", there are also five dharmas, which are divided into five categories: mental dharmas, mental dharmas, physical dharmas, non-corresponding dharma, and non-action dharmas. All five of them are not separated from consciousness, that is, consciousness-only objects. now.
In the Mahavira Hall, the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas have begun to debate the Dharma with Tripitaka. Among them, ten Bodhisattvas including the Pure Ocean Bodhisattva, Medicine King Bodhisattva, Precious Victory Bodhisattva, and Great Majestic Virtue Bodhisattva first appeared. Later, four Buddhas including Merit Flower Buddha, Chantan Light Buddha, Guangzhu Yan Buddha and Sumeru Light Buddha came to attend. Debate, but in the end they were defeated and resigned to the defeat.
