For Fahai today, let alone the wordless scripture, even if he goes back empty-handed, it is not impossible to communicate.
Just by using pen and ink, I can write down all the scriptures memorized in my mind.
Aren't these scriptures enough for the monks of the Tang Dynasty to learn?
In fact, it is enough.
But if we go back like this, wouldn't this trip be in vain?
Moreover, he just walked around the Sutra Pavilion. If he really wanted Fahai to go back empty-handed, how could he just give up?
These thirty-five volumes amount to a total of 15,144 volumes of scriptures. The poor monk wants all of them, even one is missing.
He has a big appetite, but Lingshan is obviously not willing to suffer.
Fahai had no intention of breaking up with Lingshan for the moment, so he had a plan in mind. After stopping Wukong, he said to Anuo and Jiaye: "The sutra should not be passed down lightly, nor should it be taken in vain. It turns out that my master and disciple were reckless."
When Anuo and Gaye saw Master Tripitaka suddenly speaking like this, they didn't know how to respond. They just smiled and said, "The holy monk said something serious."
It is also said that Master Tripitaka has a jealous temperament. Now that he has discovered that the scriptures are "wordless scriptures", he can still speak to them in a gentle voice with a nine-ringed tin staff. How can he stop them from muttering in their hearts?
Although Master Sanzang said that he had seen through the mystery of the "Wordless Sutra", the tone of his words still made them dare not relax for a moment.
While he was doubting, he heard Master Sanzang say again: "Wukong, please send those treasures to the Mahavira Palace, and then ask the Buddha whether our gold and silver are enough to take those with the inscriptions back to the Tang Dynasty. "
The great sage immediately felt happy and said: "Yes, disciple, come as soon as you go."
"Wait a minute." Fahai took the purple gold alms bowl and gave it to Wukong. He said, "Take this treasure and go with me. This is the only treasure of the Tang Dynasty. If the gold and silver are not enough, add this treasure." .”
A'nuo and Jia Ye wanted to stop them, but in the end they were forced by Fa Hai's gaze and took two steps back. When the two looked at each other, they looked at each other, not knowing what to do for a moment.
"Buddha." Before the great sage arrived, the voice had already spread in the main hall, "I, the old grandson, are here to give you the money to obtain Buddhist scriptures!"
As soon as he finished speaking, he saw that the Great Sage had already arrived at the temple.
Crash--
I saw him holding a human race bag, and a lot of gold, silver, and jewelry fell on the floor. This shows that their master and apprentice have indeed accumulated a lot of wealth along the way.
The Great Sage was also generous at this moment, not leaving any bit behind, and poured it all out.
It goes without saying that the tacit understanding between the Great Sage and the Master needs to be mentioned. As soon as the Master opened his mouth just now, he knew what the Master was thinking. The Master clearly wanted to empty the Sutra Pavilion.
The Great Sage even secretly pondered in his heart that even if there was no wordless sutra, the Master would probably "take advantage of the opportunity to cause trouble."
In the rather surprised gazes of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the Great Sage bowed his hands to the Buddha and said to the Buddha very proudly: "Master asked me, old grandson, to come and ask the Buddha for advice. I just asked these people and things whether they are enough to learn from the scriptures." use."
After finishing speaking, the Great Sage paused again, took out a purple gold alms bowl from his arms, and said very solemnly: "This is the purple gold alms bowl that was given to me by the Emperor of the Tang Dynasty when my master left the Tang Dynasty. If the gold and silver are not enough, this is the purple gold alms bowl." You can also offer treasures.”
This purple gold alms bowl is now quite famous in the Three Realms. It can be said to be one of the three magical instruments for which Master Tripitaka became famous. The other two are naturally the nine-ring tin staff and the brocade cassock.
Many of the monks in the Main Hall were seeing them for the first time, so they looked away.
The Great Sage smiled when he saw it and said, "Do you want to try the Great Sun Buddha Flame?"
The scene was silent for a moment, and then everyone turned their attention to the Great Sun Tathagata.
The Great Sun Tathagata's five hearts are directed toward the sky, his eyes are watching his nose, his nose is watching his mouth, and his mouth is watching his heart, and he is unmoved.
The Buddha knew this well, but he feigned anger and said, "How dare you, such a rambunctious monkey, play tricks on my Mahavira?"
Wukong took advantage of the situation and said: "Isn't this because you, Lingshan, have never sincerely saved people? That Anuo Jiaye asked my master for personnel, but was frightened back by my two sticks. He knew that he was in the wrong, so he gave my master the "Wordless Sutra" 】. Fortunately, my master is a virtuous and eminent monk, and he can decipher the mystery at a glance. But although my master can decipher this wordless scripture, how can he spread the blank paper to the three realms? Therefore, I was sent to send people to get some useful information. Isn’t this the rule of your spiritual mountain?”
"Why do you act like me in front of your Buddha?" The great sage couldn't help but get angry, "Is this rule shameful? Do you have to accept this matter behind others' backs?"
The Bodhisattva on the side listened to the words of the great sage and said to me: If anyone tells me again that this monkey has made progress with Tang Sanzang, the poor monk will definitely let him try the taste of the Three Lights Divine Water.
"go!"
The Buddha pointed at the gold and silver in front of him, and the gold and silver flew out of the spiritual mountain and scattered everywhere in the world. Then he couldn't help laughing and scolding the great sage: "You monkey, you are always a naughty person. Don't yell, hide it." I already know about the sutra pavilion. What your master said is right. The sutra should not be passed down lightly, nor should it be taken in vain. It should be noted that when the monks and saints came down from the mountain, they recited this sutra with the elder Zhao at his home in Savatthi State. Once, to ensure the safety of the living and the detachment of the dead, I only asked him for three dou and three liters of rice and gold. I also said that they sold it cheaply, leaving future generations with no money to use it, so this unwritten rule was left behind."
"I have taken these gold and silver to no use. They have been scattered in the world." The Buddha looked serious, "There is no need to keep the purple gold alms bowl, and return it to your master. Quickly take the scriptures and go to the Tang Dynasty. "
"Hehe!" the great sage said with a smile, then clasped his hands towards the Buddha and said, "Thank you, Buddha."
Then he left the Main Hall and went straight to the Sutra Pavilion.
"How dignified!"
After the Great Sage went out, another voice of anger came from nowhere.
Then there was a stir, and all of a sudden the whole Mahavira Palace was noisy and there was a lot of discussion.
The Buddha did not stop him. He sat on a high position and had an unobstructed view of the situation below, and then turned his attention to the two Buddhas, Maitreya and Medicine Master.
Maitreya Buddha still had a smile on his face, while Medicine Buddha said: "Quiet!"
The commotion gradually subsided.
Let's say that the Great Sage returned to the Sutra-Depositing Pavilion, told a few things about the Great Hall, and then called on several junior disciples to go to the Sutra-Depository Pavilion.
A'nuo and Jiaye wanted to stop them, but they really didn't have the courage. After all, they knew very well what kind of temper Jin Chanzi was. Now that the true spirit has revived, not to mention that the Buddha is now afraid of him. I'm afraid that the Buddha really intended for him to take over Lingshan. How could the two of them dare to offend him at this time?
Besides, the personnel and affairs were given, and the Buddha agreed, so there was nothing left for the two of them to do here.
only
"Great Sage, wait a minute!"
Ah Nuo just turned around and saw that the Great Sage had moved the cabinet directly. He put it in the human race bag and was shocked for a moment. He quickly stepped forward and subconsciously wanted to stop it.
But when the Great Sage glared at him, his steps immediately stopped and he was afraid to step forward.
He turned back to look at Master Sanzang, but he only looked at each other for a moment and then looked away. He turned to Gaye and asked for help.
Jia Ye also knew the importance and said quickly: "I'll come as soon as I go!"
At the same time, I thought in my heart, where is this learning from scriptures?
It’s clearly a robbery!
Gaye ran all the way to the Main Hall and informed the Buddha about the Sutra Pavilion, "Buddha, if you don't stop it, Sun Wukong will probably evacuate the Sutra Pavilion."
The Buddha didn't care at all. He wished that Sanzang would move all the scriptures away, but he still wanted to make a gesture and asked Maitreya Buddha: "That human bag is the treasure of the Buddha from the east. I don't know." What do you think of the Buddha from the East?"
Maitreya Buddha said with a smile: "Sanzang spared no effort to go far away from the mountains to Lingshan to obtain scriptures. Moreover, just now the Buddha responded to the great sage's words. The poor monk thought that this was exactly what happened."
"Does the ancient Buddha have any wise ideas?" Buddha asked the ancient Buddha of Ran Deng again.
"For this great act of kindness, all my Lingshan scriptures can be passed on to the Eastern Land, which is a blessing for Buddhism." It was only after the ancient Buddha converted to Buddhism that he achieved great enlightenment, and his cultivation progressed by leaps and bounds.
But he kept a low profile from now on. When Lao Tzu turned into a hut, the first one Upalatha Buddha found was not the Great Sun Tathagata, but the Ancient Buddha of Lighting Lamps. Unfortunately, he did not obey Upalatha Buddha's request to share the many treasures with him. Tathagata competes for the position of the Lord of Lingshan.
He didn't even come to Lingshan very often, he just practiced in seclusion in his own dojo in Yuanjue Cave in Lingjiu Mountain.
This time, I also came to Lingshan after receiving the Buddha's decree.
In the Main Hall, the three Buddhas had no opinions on this matter, and others naturally had nothing to say.
Gaye apologized, left the Mahavira Palace, returned to the Sutra Pavilion, called out Anuo, who was still holding on, and said to Master Sanzang and the Great Sage: "The monk has asked before, and the Buddha said this The scriptures can be used by the Dharma master."
The Buddha spoke, and the Great Sage and others were even more rude. They swept away all the scriptures here in a few seconds.
At this moment, in the Mahavira Hall, the Buddha slowly said: "It is a coincidence that there are 15,144 monks up and down my Lingshan Mountain who are in compliance with the scriptures."
After that, the Buddha gently waved his hand, and thousands of golden lights gathered in the sky above the Great Leiyin Temple in Lingshan. Then he heard the Buddha continue to say: "Each of you take one, and if you draw something, just silence it."
Guanyin Bodhisattva was the first to take action, attracting golden light with his hand. The golden light turned into a book page. Except for the words on the cover, the inside was completely blank. The Bodhisattva pointed to the words on the cover and smiled: ""Hua" Volume 21 of Yan Jing."
Then I saw her palms clasped together, the corners of her lips slightly open, and the blank pages of the book were constantly turning in front of the Bodhisattva. And as the precious light was engraved one after another, sutras appeared on the originally blank pages. arts.
"Amitabha!"
Maitreya Buddha, Deng Deng Ancient Buddha and Medicine Buddha also took action.
Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, Peacock Great Bright King Bodhisattva, Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva, Sunlight Bodhisattva, and Moonlight Bodhisattva also followed -
Subduing the Dragon Arhat also wanted to take a portion, but seeing that many true Buddhas and Bodhisattvas had not yet taken action, he had to calm down for a moment. After all, he did not panic because he had all these scriptures recorded in his mind, and he was not afraid of picking something he could not draw.
There was no way to hide. In the end, everyone in the main hall had a copy. Some had already finished writing, while others could only look at each other with big eyes and small eyes.
This is also normal. After all, not everyone can memorize so many sutras. Even the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas have their own strengths.
But the Four Heavenly Kings and others don't have any trouble, because they can't remain silent no matter which one they belong to.
As for whether these scriptures would be lost because of this, the Buddha did not have any worries about this, because there were not a few people in the entire Lingshan who could silence these 15,144 volumes of scriptures.
For example, he himself, or Guanshiyin Bodhisattva and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. Or, it is Tang Sanzang who has digested these scriptures.
But because of his sudden inspection, the joys and sorrows of the monks on Lingshan Mountain were not the same.
Even some real Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are one head and two big.
For example, the Great Sun Tathagata, and another example is the Great Sage National Teacher King Bodhisattva. One of the two here is a professional sect, and the other one is simply coming to Lingshan for the first time. He is a self-cultivated Zhengguo Bodhisattva. He really doesn't understand these scriptures. clear.
On the contrary, the two brothers Jin Zha and Muzha were confident.
In fact, it’s not surprising when you think about it. After all, their masters are Manjushri Bodhisattva and Guanyin Bodhisattva. No matter what, this professional knowledge is comprehensive and solid.
It was also rare for the Buddha to be generous. After the master and disciples waited for Anuo and Kaye to copy their respective scriptures, they did not leave Lingshan directly to return to the Tang Dynasty, but even made a special trip to the Mahavira Hall to express their gratitude.
Naturally, I saw the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and Arhats in the Mahavira Hall holding the pages of their books and not moving a word, pretending to be calm.
Those who have finished their silence have already finished their work.
Those who haven't finished writing basically haven't touched a word and don't know how to write.
Anuo and Gaye led Sanzang back into the hall. When Tathagata Buddha saw them, he raised the lotus throne and ordered the two Arhats Subduing the Dragon and Subduing the Tiger to ring the cloud chime.
Signaling the three thousand Buddhas, the three thousand Buddhas, the Eight Vajras, the four Bodhisattvas, the five hundred Arhats, the eight hundred monks, the numerous Upasakas, Bhikshunis, and Upasikas, the various caves in the heavens, the sacred mountains of the blessed land, and the great and great saints Monks, those who should sit please ascend the throne, and those who should stand stand beside you. Put down all the things on your hands first.
For a moment, heavenly music could be heard in the distance, fairy music was loud, auspicious lights filled the sky one after another, and there was a lot of auspiciousness——
After all the monks bowed to each other, the Buddha asked, "Anuo and Kaye, how many scriptures have you passed on to them? Can you count them one by one?"
This is a question knowingly. Now the Tibetan Scripture Pavilion has been moved cleanly. Even mice slipping when they enter.
But Ah Nuo and Gaye still counted the numbers one by one, always with a sense of ritual.
After saying this, Fahai saluted the Buddha seriously and said, "Thank you very much, Buddha for giving me the sutra."
I have obtained both the unwritten scriptures and the written scriptures. This trip to the west is worth every penny!
If I remember correctly, there were only more than 5,000 volumes of scriptures that Master Tripitaka retrieved from the Tang Dynasty, and many of them were incomplete because they were wet with water.
"The merits of this sutra cannot be measured. Although it is a tortoise example for our sect, it is actually the origin of the three religions." The Buddha said to Tripitaka: "I know your intention to preach, but you must know that the treasure of the sutra is to be revealed to all living beings. "Do not be disrespectful"
"Disciple, please remember this."
The Bodhisattva stood up at this time and said: "The poor monk who received the golden decree to go to the east to find the scriptures has now succeeded. It lasted for a total of fourteen years, which is five thousand and forty days. It is eight days short, which does not match the number of treasures."
Having said that, the Bodhisattva looked at Sanzang and said, "Sanzang, you can go back and forth within eight days, and you can finish the number of Sanzang."
