After all, the Western Land is the realm of Buddhism, and when eminent monks like Master Tripitaka are giving lectures, the devout believers in Sai Kingdom have long been offering sacrifices. As soon as they received the news, they dragged their families to Jinguang Temple before dawn.
It was shocking to see those evil-doing monks kowtow and repent of their sins one by one.
Soon, word spread about what happened at the gate of Jinguang Temple.
For a time, the whole city was lit up with lights, and men, women, old and young came to watch outside the temple.
After hearing what happened here, the king also ordered: "The curfew will be lifted tonight, and additional manpower will be sent to maintain order in the city."
It would be impossible to avoid chaos if something like this happened.
Naturally, it is impossible for everyone in the capital city to be good. Even in the Jinguang Temple, there are so many evil monks. It is foreseeable how people outside the Buddhist temple will behave.
But after all, ordinary people still accounted for the majority, and when Fahai saw this situation, he even asked Wujing Eight Paths Spiritual Body to occupy all four sides of the city and recite Buddhist scriptures.
Wu Jing's skill in chanting sutras can be said to be two extremes from that of the Great Sage.
If the Great Sage's chanting of sutras could drive people crazy, the sutras recited from Wu Jing's mouth made almost all the people in the city temporarily suppress their restless hearts, and gradually returned to calm. They each found their seats, sat cross-legged and listened quietly. .
If you are familiar with some basic scriptures, you can still chant along with them. The chanting voice becomes louder and louder, and there seems to be a magical power lingering in everyone's ears, so that those who clearly don't understand the scriptures can also follow them. Open your mouth together.
Although they don't know what these scriptures mean, they can feel that their state of mind has been cleansed and their souls are sublimating.
But some people seem out of place.
Under the brilliant sound of Buddha, some may look hideous, some may cry bitterly, some may be indifferent, etc.——
Wu Jing remembered them one by one. This generation had serious evil deeds. After listening to the scriptures admonishing people to do good, they would naturally be like this, and their retribution was inevitable.
The Great Sage also came back from the Ministry of Punishment and said to the master in the main hall: "Master, it is indeed not the case. According to the trial documents collected by the Ministry of Punishment, the first two generations of monks in Jinguang Temple were rarely good..."
"I'm afraid the documentary records are not true." The master shook his head and said: "Perhaps there are many ministers in the court who colluded with the monks of Jinguang Temple, and now they are using the reason of the lost relics to put the monks in jail and make them dead. ...The blame was placed on the monks, and senior officials like them used this to escape."
"This..." The Great Sage still lacked the experience and insight for such intrigues. At this moment, after listening to the master's words, he looked unkind: "Master, this sacrificial dynasty has probably been turned into a mass long ago. You will tell me tomorrow. Yes, but you want to punish me?"
"Amitabha." Fa Hai recited the Buddha's name and said: "The troubles in this country's imperial court have long been ingrained. My teacher is just an ordinary monk. Although he has some magical power...but there are some things that he is powerless."
After hearing this, Bajie scratched his head and said to himself: It is rare for Master to be in such a difficult situation. Even back in the Daughter Kingdom, Master could turn around and leave gracefully. But he didn't want to find himself in trouble now in Jisaiguo.
"You don't have to worry." Fahai said with a smile: "The situation in the country was not noticed by Master alone. Moreover, the change of dynasty was not done by our monks..."
"Do you still remember Mr. Ziyu?"
The Great Sage saw it, so he nodded and said, "Teacher from a thatched cottage on the outskirts of the city."
"How about some of his students?"
"Although they are not from a wealthy family, a quick look at the past... they are all tough students with a bright future."
"Mr. Ziyu does not go to teach anywhere else, but he comes here to preach and teach... What he can do as a teacher is to recite a sutra tomorrow, which can help to sustain a few of his disciples until they truly become talents and join the world and save the country. "
The Great Sage asked again: "What if they, the Confucian scholars, are useless and have no hope of saving the country?"
"Can the evil hidden under the prosperity and beauty of this place be hidden from the eyes of True Lord Erlang?" Fahai asked Wukong in return.
The Great Sage shook his head at first, meaning that the national conditions of the Sacrifice Kingdom could not be hidden from True Lord Erlang, and then he nodded and said: "In this case, True Lord Erlang will definitely take action."
Fahai smiled and said: "I still remember that when we were in the Flame Mountain, Erlang Zhenjun once said that instead of suppressing the thoughts of the gods in heaven... it is better to guide them rationally, so he deliberately made a reasonable plan, that is Ask all the gods in heaven to reincarnate in the lower world in their spare time. Firstly, it can be regarded as practicing through calamities and relieving mortal disasters. Secondly, it can also release the boring resentment accumulated in heaven."
"In this case, it is a good idea." The Great Sage smiled and said: "Especially those generals who are suppressed in the sky. They are only allowed to illuminate the world but cannot fight in person. I don't know how much they are suppressed and resentful."
"But...when a star enters the world, killings will begin. In the end, the people will suffer disaster. Who can tell whether it is a blessing or a curse?"
this...
From now on, the Great Sage will not be able to continue.
Although all people in this world are mortal.
However, war is a disaster, and many souls are created who died unjustly and are not included in the end of life, so it is said to be a bad karma.
From the perspective of heaven, this is the inevitable reincarnation of human nature and the inevitable change of dynasties in the world.
But from Fahai's perspective...he doesn't have a firm enough stance to participate.
It was precisely this that made him vaguely understand why Bodhisattva is a Bodhisattva, because what Bodhisattva saves is not only good and evil, but also life.
From this, he also admired Bodhisattva even more. Bodhisattva can save good and can also give up evil.
Fa Hai could not yet reach the realm of Bodhisattva, so Bodhisattva asked him to concentrate on defeating demons, punishing evil and promoting good.
Because the people came early, Fahai did not hesitate to use his magic power. He flew high into the sky and sat cross-legged on the top of the Lingyun Pagoda. By the light of the relic, he also joined in chanting sutras and chanting Buddha's name. As Fahai's Buddha's voice spread, although It was a cold night, but the people in the city felt warm both physically and mentally, as if they were bathed in the warm sun.
Amid the sound of Buddha, the sun rises in the east.
The leader of the Jisai Kingdom had already led his concubines and ministers to the outside of the Jinguang Temple. Also there were the monks of the Jinguang Temple who were locked in the heavenly prison.
It was Master Tripitaka who brought back the relics and cleared away their grievances. The ministers were afraid that if they were released first, they would talk nonsense in front of Master Tripitaka, so they took advantage of the darkness to first ask them to bathe and change clothes, and then called After they had eaten and drank enough, they were led to come together.
The king of the country saw Master Tripitaka sitting cross-legged on the top of the tower from a distance, and he sighed deeply in his heart.
This is what the eminent monks of the Celestial Dynasty should look like. Let’s look at the “eminent monks” of their own country... They have been in jail for a few days. They look a little thin now, but in the past, they were all white, fat and wealthy. Absolutely...what kind of true Buddhism can there be?
This is strange to say.
Yesterday, the Great Sage told some of his fellow disciples, Digu, that the Sacrifice Country had obtained a Buddhist relic in vain, and that their devotion to the Buddha was probably not as good as that of the monks in the Baoxiang Country...the monks there did not have the Dharma. , because people’s Buddhist scriptures are made up by themselves and are not real Buddhist scriptures, so it is naturally difficult to practice Buddhism.
But people's good intentions have not been discounted.
But the sight of the Jinguang Temple in Saiguo opened their eyes.
Wu Jing, who was originally bent on heading west, now has some pessimism, saying: "In the past, it was only said that the closer you are to Lingshan Mountain, the more powerful the demons will be... But I didn't expect that the closer you are to Lingshan Mountain, the more powerful the demons will be... But I didn't expect that the closer you are to Lingshan Mountain, the more powerful the demons will be." Monks are all deceivers."
"Elder brother, you said that with this kind of Buddhism, you can't even cross Xiniu Hezhou... Master just took back the Tang Dynasty, what's the use?"
The Great Sage only answered Wu Jing, "Are Buddhist scriptures useless? It's the people who recite the Buddha's name."
One sentence, enlightened Wu Jing.
There is a saying in the secular world - the so-called sword is given to the hero.
If a magical weapon falls into the hands of ordinary people, even if it has a peerless brilliance, it will eventually be lost to the world.
Just like this Lingshan Buddhist Sutra, it is a waste if it falls into the hands of these mediocre monks. If the master can understand it after studying it, it will definitely be a blessing to the three realms.
After the leader of the Sasai Kingdom and his ministers and concubines took their seats, Fahai began to lecture.
What Fahai taught was not limited to one of the Hinayana and Mahayana schools, nor was it a boring scripture. Rather, it took the Heart Sutra as the general outline, combined the Hinayana and Mahayana teachings, and relied on his own insights from his journey to the west. , depicting his own vision in easy-to-understand terms.
The Dharma is so profound that even a great sage with such an understanding has to study it seriously. Even if it is taught to the common people, how can they understand its profound meaning?
Naturally, the simpler the things we tell the people, the better.
It is better to say that it is a sermon, but it is better to say that Fa Hai is talking about his own understanding of Buddhism.
On the contrary, it was even more fascinating, and the people in the whole city were immersed in it and unable to extricate themselves.
The relic may have also sensed the profound Buddhist teachings of "Master Tripitaka" and did not hesitate to shine. He even used the Buddhist sound of "Master Tripitaka" to give birth to many golden lotuses in the air, and then bloomed with the glory of the Buddha and turned into a petaled flower. The rain fell into everyone's bodies and melted into them.
Those with old diseases will recover immediately; those who are in good health will become stronger...
After the lecture, not only ordinary people, but also many dignitaries, concubines, and ministers were inspired by Buddhism and repented constantly.
Many evil ministers even knelt before His Majesty and explained all the corrupt and illegal things they had done in the past.
There are also some evil people hiding in the capital who directly draw their swords and kill themselves, living in shame in the world.
Wu Jing, who was standing in all directions, could clearly see that many of these people had strange expressions when they were chanting sutras last night... But compared to the good intentions of the Buddha, there were still very few evil people.
Although it was only the first time to listen to Master Tripitaka's sermons, his charisma had undoubtedly conquered all the subjects of the Jisai Kingdom.
Even many of the concubines who came to listen to Master Tripitaka's lectures wanted to build a Buddhist room for chanting sutras and praying after returning to the palace.
"The word "golden light" is not good. It is not a permanent thing: gold is a flowing thing, and light is a burning energy."
Fa Hai spoke from the top of the pagoda: "Because there are two sinful dragons pressing down under the pagoda, I will change this temple into Fulong Temple to teach you to stay forever."
"Master Tripitaka" spoke the truth from the Buddha's mouth, and everyone just applauded.
Even His Majesty clapped his hands and praised: "The golden light turns into a dragon, a new name and a new atmosphere...very good, very good."
Fahai flew down and landed in front of the temple. With a wave of his hand, the writing on the door plaque changed to: "Zhenguo Fulong Temple"
"The poor monk has met Your Majesty."
"I don't dare to be worshiped by the eminent monk." The king quickly turned sideways and stretched out his hand to support him.
After Fahai carefully performed a Buddhist ritual, he raised his head and said to the king: "The poor monk, under the order of the King of Tang, went to the West to obtain Buddhist scriptures. In Bibo Pond, he accidentally found this lost Buddha relic from Jinguang Temple. ..I passed through your country on this trip, and the special thing belongs to its owner. Now that it’s over, my master and apprentice are about to go west, and I also ask Your Majesty to sign this customs clearance document."
After finishing speaking, Wu Jing took out the customs clearance document and presented it to His Majesty.
"Easy to say, easy to say." Your Majesty collected the document and said, "I would also like to invite the Holy Monk to come into the palace to talk about it. Firstly, the Holy Monk and his disciples have come from afar. I have not had time to entertain you, so it is rude; secondly, I am also a Monk. The big seal is in the palace, but I don’t carry it with me... Besides, the saintly monk should have some fast food after preaching for a day."
Gululu——
Needless to say, I also knew that this was Bajie's stomach rumbling in response.
In this case, Fahai did not follow the emperor's courtesy.
Although the leader of the country is not a wise king, he is far from a faint king. He is a mediocre king at best... The government of a country is actually controlled by the ministers. He only needs to enjoy the glory and wealth, and generally he does not need to worry about state affairs. .
The last person to act like this was the leader of Chechi Kingdom.
But the leader of the Chechi Kingdom simply wanted to be lazy, and the ministers he used were all capable ministers and generals. This was naturally fundamentally different from the leader of the Jisai Kingdom who passively enjoyed blessings.
The leader of the Jisai Kingdom entertained his masters and disciples in the Qilin Hall of the Imperial Palace.
I had only met Master Tripitaka before, but now I saw the four disciples behind him, each with their own characteristics... After asking several disciples about their origins, they were full of praise for their magical powers.
Guanglu Temple had already prepared a banquet with vegetarian dishes. The king invited Master Sanzang to sit at the upper table, the Great Sage and Xiao Bailong sat at the left side table, and the monk Zhu Bajiesha took the side table at the right side. Vegetarian dishes, vegetarian tea, vegetarian rice.
The king of the country also sat at a table. It was originally a meat table, but when he came back after listening to the sutra, he ordered that he should fast today.
The Lord of the Kingdom originally prepared a hundred seats for the ministers, but he did not expect that after listening to a sermon, more than half of the ministers in the court confessed on the spot... that is, the Lord of the Kingdom pardoned them first, and they themselves They couldn't agree, so they ran to the prison one by one and asked the Minister of Punishment to lock them up.
After the Minister of Punishment imprisoned them, he also took off his black gauze hat and court clothes, and asked a few honest officials to imprison himself.
Then the officials in the prison ordered the jailer to get paper and pen to explain the crime.
For a moment, everyone was panicked.
The so-called upper beam is not straight and the lower beam is crooked. None of the ministers in the court were spared.
If it is done from bottom to top, it is often easily cut off in the middle.
But if it's the other way around, from top to bottom, it's really hard to say how much involvement this piece of rope will have after being taken out.
Most of the officials in the imperial court were defeated. How could the remaining officials still have the heart to attend His Majesty's banquet?
The king also knew that this matter was not trivial, so after entertaining Tang Monk and his disciples, he sealed the customs clearance document and returned it to Master Tripitaka, and sincerely asked, "Why did the holy monk teach me?"
