Entered the city.
The master and disciples went straight to Jinguang Temple.
On the way, we also met the monks begging on the street that Xiao Bailong mentioned before, but Fahai had no contact with them.
Although he didn't know what the kings and ministers of this country looked like, Fahai just glanced at these monks and knew that they had no merit... and because there were relics in Jinguang Temple that showed auspiciousness, not to mention the daily life of sacrificing Saiguo. The incense was a tribute brought by the Four Kingdoms when they offered sacrifices to Saiguo, and it was enough for the monks of Jinguang Temple to have enough food and clothing.
Such a temple, not to mention its merits, has already received the light of the relics without any karma.
Not only does one have a shaved head, he can be called a monk, and even if he has a certificate written in the temple, he does not necessarily mean he is a serious monk.
Fahai himself is a monk.
Therefore, the last thing he sees is such "fake monks". Of course...it cannot be said that there are no eminent monks in Jinguang Temple, but all he sees along the way are mediocre.
They had previously enjoyed the blessings brought to them by the relics, but now that the relics were lost... they also suffered a taste of human suffering.
I don’t know how to survive the suffering in this world.
Fahai could even imagine how the monks of Jinguang Temple would be worshiped in the Sacrifice Kingdom when the relics were still there.
And these reverences...are they for Jinguang Temple?
Or a monk from Jinguang Temple?
Or is it simply about the relics on the top of the Jinguang Temple tower?
As the saying goes, if the mountain is not high, it will be famous if it has immortals; if the water is not deep, it will be spiritual if it has dragons...
How is the temple?
Most of the solitary temples in the mountains are dilapidated, but the Buddhist temples in the streets are rich and prosperous.
The Jinguang Temple, located in the capital of Shangbang, is no longer as popular as it used to be.
The masters and disciples all looked at the seven gold characters written across the door: "Edict to build Jinguang Temple to protect the country." There was no one inside, and it looked cold, which made everyone sigh and sigh.
"If you don't cultivate virtue, you only rely on Buddha treasures." Fa Hai warned several disciples: "It is inevitable that you will end up like this... You must always remember that magical powers and spells are only ways to protect yourself, and conduct is a talent. It is the foundation of one's life. Otherwise, if one has the ability to reach heaven and earth, he will not be able to secure the heaven and the people, and he will not be able to punish rape and eradicate evil... What is the use of it?"
Bajie smiled and said: "Master's words are not like those of ordinary Buddhists."
The Great Sage smiled and asked him: "What is an ordinary Buddhist?"
"Namo Amitabha." Bajie clasped his hands together and said with a smile: "Ordinary Buddhists should see through the mortal world. The world is like nothing to me. No matter how the winds and clouds in the three realms arise, I sit alone on the mountain and watch it with cold eyes -"
"Ha." The great sage smiled and said, "According to what you said, the Bodhisattva is not an ordinary Buddhist."
"Yes, yes!" Bajie smiled while stroking his palms, "There are so many Bodhisattvas in Lingshan, but there is only one Bodhisattva? Bodhisattvas are naturally unusual, otherwise wouldn't all Lingshan be like Bodhisattvas?"
"It makes sense, it makes sense." The Great Sage rarely agreed with Bajie's words, and also smiled and said: "Bodhisattvas are like this, and Master is like this... It's just that Master said that he is an ordinary monk in the world, but he always does extraordinary things. "
"Stop chatting." Fahai scolded them with a smile and said, "Let's go into the temple."
When the masters and disciples came in to watch, they felt even more secluded.
I don't know, but I thought it was a wild temple in the mountains. If a scholar comes here, he may meet some female ghosts and marry him.
The Great Sage took a cursory look around the courtyard, came close to the master, and said, "Although no one has cleaned the buildings in this temple, and the floor looks dusty, they are all well-appointed and well-organized, so there is nothing that can be seen." The mess..."
Walking through the fallen leaves-strewn corridor and entering the cold ancient palace, the Great Sage saw that there was still some lamp oil on the candlestick. He wanted to go over and light it, but the master reached out to stop him and said: "Don't light the lamp now, in case it alarms the patrols in the city. , extraneous branches arise."
"Master!" the Great Sage exclaimed, pointing to the abbot's eaves residence in front, and said urgently: "Look, there are several young monks locked up here!"
Everyone hurriedly came forward. Several young monks were dying, almost out of breath, and locked behind them. If not for this... they wouldn't have been discovered until now.
The Great Sage did not wait for the master's instructions. He just stretched out his hand and lifted their shackles. He dragged them with his magic power and slowly dropped the young monks to the ground.
Each took a breath of fresh air to protect their minds and prevent them from losing their energy.
"Bajie." Fahai said to Bajie, "Go and cook some hot porridge."
At this moment, Fahai didn't care whether something had happened, or what was more important was saving people.
"Alas!" Bajie agreed, picked up his clothes and went to the kitchen, cleaned the pots and stoves, and started to add ingredients for cooking.
After Fahai checked the young monks one by one and found out that their lives were safe, he got up.
Seeing the golden body of Buddha in the hall, Fa Hai came forward, offered incense and paid homage.
When the disciples saw him, they also worshiped him.
As for how sincere you are, it depends on the individual.
If one goes by what the Great Sage and others think, it is not impossible for them to sincerely kowtow to the Buddha... provided that the Buddha is their master.
But Master is not even willing to become a Buddha, let alone become a Buddha.
Besides, if Master himself wants to be Buddha, can the Buddha in Lingshan agree?
Although the Great Sage sometimes often talks about going to the Lingshan Mountain and asking his master to succeed him for fun, he also knows in his heart... This is the same as his idea of becoming the Jade Emperor, which is a whim.
After paying homage to Buddha.
Seeing that Bajie was still working in the kitchen, Fahai said to Wukong and others, "Then you wait here, and I will go to the tower to have a look."
Wukong also looked at the top of the tower and said: "Master, there is some water aura in the tower."
Fahai thought for a while and said: "I think it was the Nine-Headed Insect and the Wan Sheng Old Dragon who arranged the arrangement... When I realized that there was no evil spirit in them, I grabbed both of them as a verification."
When Master Tripitaka left Chang'an, he made a vow in Famen Temple: to go to the west to burn incense in every temple, worship Buddha in a temple, and sweep pagodas when they see them.
Now the incense has been burned, and the Buddha has been worshiped... and he also wants to return the relics, and also clean up the filth in this pagoda.
Fahai found a broom, left the hall alone, and went to the backyard.
The master and apprentice just watched the journey, and no one followed to wait on him.
The Lingyun Tower is in the backyard of the Buddhist temple. There are many fallen leaves and flowers along the way. The road has long been paved. There are many spider webs in front of the corners and eaves. The hanging bell has lost its Buddhist charm, and the painted walls look like dust...
Not long after, Bajie came over with hot porridge. Everyone let the hot porridge cool down first to prevent burning the little monks.
Wu Jing, who was watching his master off outside the temple, suddenly said: "Although there is no sound of sutra lectures in the temple, the birds chirping from the hall are somewhat peaceful and Zen-like."
The Great Sage sighed after hearing this: "Master is right. It is true that Junior Brother Sha has always had Buddha nature."
Xiao Bailong also echoed: "Three senior brothers have to give me some advice. It seems that in my eyes, I only see people taking tea to cool down... Seeing this scene, the most I can say is that it is desolate and lonely."
Bajie pondered for a long time and said, "I'm different. I also see that worshiping Buddha is useless. Even my own believers can't protect themselves."
The Great Sage said with a smile: "There is a difference between what Bajie said... If they are sincere believers, how can the Buddha not save them? In my opinion, it is the insincerity of these monks who serve the Buddha that causes them to suffer this disaster and deserve to suffer." "
"But I don't know how to be sincere." Xiao Bailong shook his head. Among the brothers, he had the worst talent for Dharma. His master's teachings to him were never above Dharma.
"Just like Master." Bajie said subconsciously.
Wu Jing asked: "Is Master sincere?"
The senior brothers were stunned for a moment, then looked at each other in confusion.
"The porridge is warm!" The Great Sage picked up a bowl of porridge and returned to the main hall.
All the junior brothers hurriedly followed -
Fa Hai, who had just arrived in front of the pagoda at this moment, also heard their words, but he didn't know where they learned their habits. He had to grasp a few words to express his sore feet.
It’s just that Buddha... what kind of existence is he?
It seems that the deeper my understanding of Buddhism is, the farther away I am from the "Buddha". On the contrary, it is not as good as when I first enlightened, as if I could reach out and touch it.
Seeing the incense burning at Jinguang Temple, Fahai had only one thought in his mind -
Although there is an incense burner in front of the Buddha, it is empty because of the gray and cold flowers.
After all, praying to Buddha is not as good as praying to yourself.
Perhaps those monks of Jinguang Temple who are living outside are already suffering compared to the carefree life they had in Jinguang Temple in the past... But compared to those who have no food to eat, no clothes to wear, and are only suffering on the edge of life and death. What does the poverty of the struggling mortals mean?
Perhaps it is impossible to save all sentient beings, but why can't I save those who can be saved?
As for whether he is sincere in worshiping Buddha... Fahai thinks he is sincere, but this sincerity is directed towards the Buddha in his heart, not the Lingshan Buddha.
At this time, the sky was full of stars and moonlight, and the drums and drums on the Qiao tower were beating loudly.
The night became darker.
There is a slight cold wind, and the lights of thousands of houses are scattered.
It was during this night that the sound of some students reciting gradually reached Fahai's ears.
Read it as a classic of Confucianism in the Central Plains.
Fahai turned his Dharma eyes around and saw an old friend, lit by candlelight in a thatched cottage on the outskirts of the city. Surrounded by some children in ragged clothes, he was learning to read every sentence.
This is a night class.
The gentleman seemed to sense something. He turned around and looked at Fa Hai, hugging him politely.
Fahai returned the favor with Buddha's salute.
The so-called friendship between gentlemen is as gentle as water. A smile when they meet is enough.
At this time, Erlang Zhenjun also arrived at Jisai Kingdom. Behind him, Xiaotian Dog and Meishan Six Generals suppressed the Nine-Headed Insect, Wan Sheng Old Dragon and Wan Sheng Dragon Girl, who were the key criminals in this case.
They were hiding in the clouds and did not show themselves. They just emitted some aura that Master Tripitaka could sense.
At the same time, Yang Jian also discovered Mr. Ziyu, who was preaching in the capital of Jisai Kingdom.
There are two Confucian masters named Ziyu. The one in front of me is one of Confucius's beloved disciples, Zeng, a famous ginseng.
And another Mencius, Meng Ke.
Gu is a sage of the human race. Zengzi was ordered to go down to earth to preach, while Confucius and Mencius were in the Fire Cloud Cave.
Yang Jian did not bother Mr. Ziyu, who was preaching in the human world. The two of them looked at each other, saluted each other, and then left it at that.
Fahai stood in front of the pagoda, performed a Buddhist salute to the pagoda, and said: "My disciple Sanzang was sent by the Tang Dynasty in the East to visit our Buddha Tathagata in Lingshan to obtain scriptures. When he was exorcising demons in Bibo Pond, he obtained the relics. Offering sacrifices to the Buddha treasures at Jinguang Temple in Saiguo... Now that I have come here, I will wholeheartedly sweep the pagoda to remove the filth and return the Buddha treasures."
After all, Fahai is a Buddhist, and these senses of ritual are engraved in his bones.
After saying that, Fahai pushed open the tower door——
I saw this tower, it was really majestic, leaning against the Han Dynasty, standing abruptly in the sky.
This pagoda is called the Five-color Glazed Pagoda because there is a relic on the top of the pagoda. It is also called Qianjin Relic Peak.
When I looked at it from the outside, I could tell that the tower was thirteen stories high. It could be said that the clouds lingered at the top, creating a pagoda and a dragon surrounded by mist.
If you climb to the top, you can see thousands of miles away, and your heart will be as high as the sky.
But at this moment, Fahai was in the pagoda and saw that there were glazed lamps in every layer of the pagoda, but there was dust but no fire. Every step he took in the white jade railing in front of the eaves, dirt flying insects had already appeared.
If he didn't have some magic power, it would be really difficult to sweep the tower clean with just a broom.
There are Buddha statues in the middle of the pagoda, but the incense burner in front of the Buddha statue is completely empty of incense; outside the window, in the corner, there are bright spider webs... Fahai has swept away a lot of rat droppings along the way.
Fahai swept all the way up to the twelfth floor, becoming more and more energetic, showing no signs of slacking off.
That is to say, an eminent monk like Fahai. If an ordinary monk came here, he would not have such a lot of energy.
Even if you can get up to the 12th floor, how much cleaning skills can you compare to Fa Hai?
Because Fahai knew that there was a water tribe guarding the thirteenth floor, he did not deliberately restrain himself when sweeping the tower. He originally wanted to lure the two water tribe monsters down, catch them, and find out the reason.
But I didn't expect...these two aquatic monsters remained unmoved.
If Fahai had smelled the smell of alcohol, he would have thought that the two of them were going to ambush him.
Seeing that he couldn't lure the two monsters down, Fahai didn't force himself, so he walked up to the thirteenth floor with a broom... Sure enough, he saw two goblins sitting in the heart of the thirteenth floor tower, with a plate of rice in front of them. There is a bowl and a pot, where you can play guessing games and drink wine... What a fun time it is!
Fahai walked to both sides of him, but he still didn't notice it. He looked drunk and just had fun.
"evil creature!"
"oops--!"
Fahai's thunderous sound was deafening, and a "Evil" sound was heard, which frightened the two monsters half to death. After shouting, they all fell to the ground, breaking out in cold sweat. It seemed that the smell of alcohol had dissipated, and suddenly Wake up with a start.
The two monsters saw a monk wearing a red cassock, but carrying a broom... They were wondering where the monk dared to come here to entertain them... Suddenly, a demon... eminent monk appeared in their hearts. name.
Master Tripitaka!
broken!
Tang Sanzang is here!
But they didn't need to think too much. Fahai held up his broom and swung it twice. The two monsters covered their heads and knelt on the ground, begging for mercy: "Holy monk, have mercy on us, holy monk, have mercy on us. We are not monsters! We are not monsters." !”
They had obviously heard about the deeds of Master Tripitaka, and knew that Master Tripitaka was ruthless in transcending the man-eating monsters. Besides... as long as they were not evil-doers, there was a glimmer of hope.
Two of them are from the Bibotan Aquatic Tribe, one is a catfish monster, and the other is a black fish spirit... neither of them are cannibals, and they think they have never done any evil things in the past.
If you kowtow faster, you may be able to save your life.
"Not a monster?" Fahai said coldly: "Where are you from and what are you doing here? You must have recruited them truthfully. Otherwise..."
Before Fahai could finish speaking, the two monsters kowtowed and said, "We've moved, we've moved them all!"
