If you take advantage of the large number of people to act arrogantly and bully my old abbot... Huh, don't blame me for being tough!"
The Great Sage and others felt funny after hearing what the little elephant said. They thought that although he was a fake Buddha, he was a little arrogant, but he still had some loyalty.

Fa Hai thought for a while and said: "The merits of the Tathagata, if all the Buddhas in the ten directions, could continue to expound the indescribable sutras for as many kalpas as tiny dust particles in the Buddha land, they would not be exhausted! If you want to achieve this door of merits, you should practice ten kinds of How can the vast number of vows be counted as ten?”

When he looked at Master Sanzang again, there seemed to be a little pleading in his eyes, wanting to ask the Tang Dynasty divine monk to let him live.
The abbot elder seemed to have a new sense of consciousness. He saw the fear in the eyes of the "little elephant" and said in his heart: His guess was indeed correct. This little elephant is just a spirit enjoying incense here, not a real Buddha.
Seeing how horrified he was when he heard "Samantabhadra Bodhisattva" at this moment, he suddenly remembered that he had seen it in an isolated copy, and Samantabhadra appeared riding a white elephant...
There is already a bit of clarity and relaxation in my heart, but there is also a bit of reluctance in my heart.
The relaxing part is that after all, the "Elephant Buddha" that he has worshiped for his whole life is a Bodhisattva mount, not a monster.
The regret is that if his identity is exposed, his future may be uncertain. Although the "Baoxiang Buddhist Sutra" he recited is false, he has lived for more than seventy years, and the truth is clear.
Taking the body of a demon and using the name of a true Buddha to make people feel incense... I'm afraid it's not something that can be solved with simple punishment.
"Alas -" the abbot sighed and said: "Although this poor monk has never learned this sutra, he still has some superficial knowledge. If there are many people who have made great vows: the first is to respect, the second is to practice, the third is to practice, and the fourth is to repent. , five..."
The abbot elder seemed a little unable to speak, and Fahai asked: "If you respect one person, what should you respect?"
The abbot thought for a moment and said, "Respect the Buddha."
Fahai said deliberately: "Only respect the Buddha? Is heaven and earth respectable? Are all living beings respectable? Are you and I respectable?"
The abbot was stunned for a moment, as if he wanted to get some proof from what he had learned, but then he heard Master Tripitaka say with a smile, "Samantabhadra Bodhisattva said, first, pay homage to all Buddhas."
The abbot's eyes lit up, but before he could overflow with joy, he heard Master Tripitaka continue to say: "Saluting is not reverence, but a heart of respect, which spreads throughout the body and mouth, and worships. That is to meditate in the mind, worship with the body, and recite everything with the mouth. Those who are respected.”
As the saying goes, if there are Buddhas and rituals, they are endless. There are Buddhas in all the worlds. The heaven and the earth are Buddhas. All living beings are Buddhas. You and I are Buddhas. All dharmas have no birth, all dharmas have no death...
Fa Hai just thought about this last sentence in his mind and did not say it out loud. After all, these words were still difficult for the abbot and elder in front of him to digest.
The abbot had gained a lot, and when he was realizing it, he heard Fahai ask him: "Cultivation of both, what is the purpose of cultivation?"

Fahai said again: "Samantabhadra Bodhisattva said: The three should practice extensively and make offerings."
Little Elephant also saw that Master Sanzang did not cause any trouble for him under his pleading eyes, but was concentrating on discussing the Dharma with the presiding elder, and listened attentively. At this moment, he saw that Fahai skipped two steps and went directly to speak three words. , there was a tingle in his heart, and he couldn't help but ask: "Monk, what is the second one?"
Seeing that everyone was looking at him, the little elephant shook his nose and said, "Can't I ask?"

The abbot and the elder simply bowed to Fahai and said sincerely: "Please, the holy monk will not hesitate to teach the Dharma."
Seeing this, the monks also bowed down one after another: "Please ask the sacred monk to teach the Dharma——"
Fa Hai glanced at the little elephant, and the little elephant's heart trembled, so I didn't have to say anything else.
He looked at the kneeling monks again, and naturally knew how important what this holy monk was saying was to them.
In fact, last night, the abbot and the elder had already made it clear to him, saying that there was little chance of winning today. The main reason was that their "Baoxiang Buddhist Sutra" had 200 years of accumulation, and it was indeed a fake Buddhist sutra. The Tang Dynasty only established the country. Thirty years, but the land of China may really have a legacy.
When he heard Samantabhadra Bodhisattva just now, he already knew that something was wrong, but he was just lucky, but now he can't pretend anymore.
This time there was no escape. The little elephant sighed in his heart and said: "Just ask the holy monk to teach you the Dharma. I am willing to let it go -"

"Amitabha." Fa Hai didn't show off and finished speaking in one breath, "What is ten? First, pay respect to all Buddhas. Second, praise the Tathagata. Third, practice extensively and make offerings. Fourth, repent of karma. Fifth, , Rejoice in the merits. Sixth, please turn the Dharma. Seventh, ask the Buddha to live in the world. Eighth, always follow Buddhism. Ninth, always obey all living beings. Tenth, universally dedicate it."
Then he explained and elaborated one by one. During this period, he did not include his own special views on the ten major vows, but simply stated their connotations.
Even so, everyone present was mesmerized.
