In reality, sometimes it is more exciting than in movies.
After Qin Xingping left, the appointment date with the three buyers was going to be the next day. I had guessed that once this thing was sold, it would definitely fetch seven figures. We can share a few, and it shouldn’t be a big problem if each person shares a few dozen.
Things took a turn for the better the night before the deal.
That day, I took a shower, took the washbasin, and was about to go back to the house to sleep, when I was suddenly called to his room.
The curtains in the room were drawn, the Xixia Ashoka Pagoda was placed on the table, and his head looked solemn at the moment.
I asked confusedly what happened to the boss, was there something wrong with the tower?
He pointed his head to let me take a look.
After looking at it, I said, "It's no problem, boss. This is the Ashoka Pagoda we brought out that day."
The boss said with a solemn expression: "Look, look carefully. If you can't see it, I have a magnifying glass here."
I pulled up a chair and sat down, picked up the Ashoka Tower with both hands and looked through it.
"It's no problem. The head is in good condition. It's not repaired or cracked."
"etc....."
I repeated the action just now, picked up the tower with both hands, and shook it gently twice.
Maybe it was because the shaking force just now was too weak, so I put my ear to it and shook it up and down again.
It was already late at night, the surroundings were silent, and any small movement could be heard clearly. At the moment when I was shaking the tower up and down, I heard clearly that in the fourth section of the tower, there was a sound of foreign objects, and the sound was very small.
I put down the iron tower and said in surprise: "This... there is something hidden in the tower in the fourth quarter!"
The head nodded solemnly and said: "I ignored it before. I can't figure it out. This iron tower is cast in one piece. Why did I only put something in the fourth section of the tower back then?"
"If this tower was built by Dangxiang believers seven hundred years ago, what important things would they seal in the tower?"
"The head," I said suspiciously, "Tibetan Buddhist statues and things made in the Ming and Qing Dynasties would be chopped off and sealed after they were made. Some believers would take their nails, hair or carry them with them. The scriptures and scriptures were sealed inside, and then the bottom cover was put on and flattened with a file. If we look at it this way, will the Asoka Pagoda be like this too?"
He shook his head slowly and said: "The Ashoka Pagoda is the supreme divine object of Buddhist art. Although the one we got is small, it is still the same. Except for the golden urn hidden in Potalali, it can reach this level. Apart from the Nine-Eyed Dzi Bead, only the eight thangkas are left."
I know what the head means. He means that Ashoka Pagoda is the supreme divine object. What is sealed inside cannot be the nails and hair of ordinary believers. It is probably a sacred object as important as Ashoka Pagoda.
So the question is, what are the currently known holy objects that can reach this level?
There are only a handful of them.
There is only one golden bottle of love in the world. This bottle is made of sixteen pounds of pure gold. The bottle is divided into three parts, and each part is carved with a theme picture using a knife.
The human world is engraved in the middle of the bottle, the hell world is engraved on the bottom of the bottle, and the paradise world is engraved on the top of the bottle. The golden bottle is used for casting lots to identify the reincarnated boy of the previous living Buddha. It is said that only the reincarnation of the living Buddha can throw the bamboo stick into the golden vase. Others cannot throw it in even if they are close.
The Nine-Eyed Dzi Bead is even more famous. It is inlaid on the forehead of the Potala statue. This thing is the most awesome existence in the Dzi Bead world. Dzi beads used to be sacred objects, but now they have become cultural objects. Those such as Medicine Master Dzi Beads, Tiger Tooth Dzi Beads, Nine Shale Dzi Beads, Sardonyx Dzi Beads, etc. are all things that are named by people nowadays, and they are the same as the real Buddhist saints. Wumeng Dzi beads are not the same kind of things, they are all garbage.
The Eight Thangkas are also called the Eight Divine Cards, and they are ranked in no particular order. One is the thangka of Lord Kanoyan, the second is the thangka of the founder of the Sakya sect, the third is the thangka of Beji Dorje’s practice in the horn cave, the fourth is the thangka of the king of nectar Xuanming in the embroidered rock with seeds, and the fifth is the twin conjoined Vajra Sattva Thangka, 6, Yamantaka Vajra Black Thangka, 7, Colorful Precious Buddha Brocade Thangka, 8, Chengde Xumifu Temple Imperial Thangka of Sakyamuni Buddha.
Apart from these, if you want to be on par with Ashoka Tower, you may have to stay behind.
What is hidden in this tower we dug up in Harahot?
Judging from the size of those things, the gold bottle will definitely not fit in, the nine-eyed dzi bead is possible, and the thangka must be very small in size, and it must be rolled up. Of course, there is also something among living creatures that is qualified to be sealed in the Asoka Pagoda.
That is.
Relics.
And it has to be the relic of a great monk.
This tower was built during the Xixia period, and must be excluded from the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties in later generations.
It’s hard to say whether it’s a fake relic of Sakyamuni’s true body. What I’m talking about is the real relic of Tathagata Buddha himself.
Don’t think of it as a myth, Gautama Buddha was a real person who existed two thousand years ago.
The earliest prototype of the Ashoka Tower appeared in the Mauryan Dynasty of the Asan Kingdom. Ashoka was the third generation king of the Mauryan Dynasty. In his later years, he respected and believed in Buddhism.
According to legend, hundreds of years after the death of Gautama Buddha, King Ashoka of the Maurya Dynasty collected 14,000 relics of Gautama Buddha's true body, which included a skull, four teeth, and a middle finger bone. He built a total of 14,000 iron towers (some say 84,000) to worship these relics.
Therefore, what is recorded in our history books are the Buddha's crown bone relics, the Buddha's hair relics, the Buddha's finger bone relics, the Buddha's tooth relics, and the last kind of Buddha's shadow bone relics.
We didn’t know at the time that the parietal bone relics of the Buddha were unearthed many years later in 2010. The unearthed place was at the Great Baoen Temple. There are documentaries you can watch. If you want to know what the Asoka Pagoda looks like, you can also watch it because at that time the Buddha The parietal bone is kept in the Asoka Pagoda.
However, the Ashoka Pagoda is very big, more than one meter high. The one for me and Baotou is very small, only about 30 centimeters, so it can be considered a reduced version.
The boss and I discussed it all night and speculated on all the results we could think of. Finally, we roughly guessed that our pagoda may contain nine-eyed dzi beads, Buddha relics, and one of the small thangkas. .
If it were to be sold, it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but it just happened to be that I discovered it at this time.
To sell or not to sell became the current dilemma for me and Baotou.
Some friends may say, "Are you stupid? You don't know how to take out the things and sell the tower. Sell it for double money, stupid. Even if you rob a tomb, I'm smarter than you."
Some people will definitely say this, and it is correct, but we couldn't do it at first. The Ashoka Pagoda in the Great Baoen Temple was unearthed a few years later. Go and see for yourself how laborious it is to open the tower completely. At that time, there were so many big guys from the Military Industrial Research Institute who spent more than three months researching the drawings before finally opening them intact.
Although it is not that complicated for our little one, it is still difficult.
To sell is to not sell first.
However, in order to open this thing and see what's inside, we have to use our old noses.
It is foreseeable how we can fully open Ashoka Tower without affecting sales.
Please see the breakdown next time.
