Chang'an City. Nine
Huasheng Temple.
More than 1,200 eminent monks gathered, and the Water and Land Salvation Conference was supported by Chen Xuanzang.
Wang Ming sat in a dragon chariot and left the Jinluan Palace with all his civil and military officials, before going to Wang Huasheng Temple to offer incense.
Wang Ming is not afraid of the entanglement of the Jinghe Dragon King's soul.
Not to mention the dead Jinghe Dragon King, Wang Ming was not afraid of the living Jinghe Dragon King.
But the Dragon King of Jinghe is just a small chess piece, and the group of powerful men of heaven and earth behind him who are always scheming are the most troublesome.
Wang Ming planned to follow their ideas and cooperate with them to complete the journey to the west. Nine
When he came to Huasheng Temple, Wang Ming took one look at the handsome Master Chen Xuanzang and asked him to prepare for the Land and Water Conference.
For this land and water conference, Western Buddhism has a lot of calculations.
In fact, he killed a water dragon king in the Jinghe River, causing the Jinghe Dragon King to come to disturb Li Shimin.
Then he asked the underworld to cooperate in capturing Li Shimin's soul, which completely frightened Li Shimin into losing his temper.
The purpose was just to help Chen Xuanzang build momentum.
Seven days have passed since the Huasheng Temple held the Water and Land Conference.
That day, an old monk walked outside Huasheng Temple, with a young monk behind him. Nine
The old monk shouted to buy cassocks and tin sticks.
Although the call was made on a street far away from Huasheng Temple, Wang Ming, who was lying in the golden dragon chariot, still heard it.
He glanced in that direction thoughtfully, without using any spiritual power, and thought to himself: "Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva has arrived..."
·······
At this time, Guanshiyin Bodhisattva transformed into a scabies monk, an old monk wearing a worn-out robe, barefoot and bald. He held a gorgeous machine-made cassock in one hand. The cassock was bright and shining, and he held a tin staff in the other.
The minister shouted: "What's the price of the cassock?"
The Bodhisattva said: "Five thousand taels of cassocks and two thousand taels of tin staff." Nine
Everyone who heard it suddenly took a breath.
Too damn expensive!
During the Zhenguan period, a bushel of rice cost 5 copper coins, and one tael of silver = 1,000 copper coins (also known as Yiguan).
10 buckets = one stone. One tael of silver can buy 200 buckets of rice, which is 20 stones.
One stone in the Tang Dynasty was about 59 kilograms. Based on today's general rice price of 1.50 yuan per kilogram, one tael of silver is equivalent to the purchasing power of RMB 3,540 yuan.
How can it not be shocking to sell tin sticks and cassocks for seven thousand taels at the first glance?
The minister asked curiously, "What are the benefits that are worth such a high price?" Nine
The Bodhisattva said: "The cassock has advantages and disadvantages; some require money and some do not."
The minister asked again: "What is good? What is bad?"
The Bodhisattva said: "It is a good thing that if you wear my robe, you will not fall into perdition, hell, evil, evil, or encounter the den of tigers and wolves. If you are a foolish monk who is greedy for sexual pleasure, a monk who does not fast or abstain from fasting, you will slander the sutras." It is difficult for ordinary people of the Buddha to see my face in my cassock, and this is not good."
Then he asked: "Why do you want money and don't want money?"
The Bodhisattva said: "You don't follow the Buddha's Dharma, you don't respect the Three Jewels, and you buy a cassock and a tin stick by force. You will definitely sell them for seven thousand taels. This is asking for money. If you respect the Three Jewels, rejoice when you see good things, take refuge in my Buddha, and can afford it, I will give you the cassock." , tin stick, I am willing to give it to him and form a good relationship with me, it is free of charge."
When the minister heard this, he immediately became happy. In ancient times, those who could be officials were all human beings. He instantly realized that the monk was here to give away the treasure. The lion's loud bidding before was just to increase the value of the treasure.
There are many things that have been revealed but not revealed. In his opinion, as long as the cassock is delivered successfully, he can show his face to the emperor, so he said: "Elder Dafa, forgive me Xiao Yu. I, the Emperor of the Tang Dynasty, am very good-hearted, and the whole court All civil and military officials should adhere to it. The 'Water and Land Conference' is being built now, and this cassock is exactly the same as that worn by Master Chen Xuanzang in Dadu. You and I are coming to the court to see him." Nine
······
Wang Ming saw the transformed monk of Guanyin Bodhisattva.
In compliance with their wishes, he gave Chen Xuanzang the cassock and tin staff.
Successfully helped Chen Xuanzang build momentum.
Wang Ming looked at and touched the cassock and tin staff.
Those kinds of wonderful things are real.
Because the cassock and tin staff were left behind by Chen Xuanzang's previous life, Jin Chanzi. When Wang Ming touched them with his palms, he could clearly feel the scent of the clothes and Chen Xuanzang's soul. Nine
Especially the cassock. The Bodhisattva said it was made of dragon skin and ice toad silk. But in fact, the main material was the shell of the six-winged golden cicada.
When Xuanzang of the Tang Dynasty obtained the cassock and tin staff, the Bodhisattva appeared in front of a person, and for a while he knelt down and chanted Amitabha.
Wang Ming just looked respectful, put his hands together and bowed before giving up.
After that, he naturally sent people to the West to get the Mahayana Sutra.
Li Shimin's subordinates were all politicians, so how could they go to Leiyin Temple thousands of miles away to obtain the true scriptures?
When he retrieved the scriptures, his impression in Li Shimin's heart had faded, and his connections with the court were gone. Naturally, only Chen Xuanzang, a devout Buddhist, stepped forward to ask for his life.

night!
On a mountain peak somewhere in Chang'an,
Two figures stood facing the wind. These were Guanyin Bodhisattva and Muzha during the day.
"Bodhisattva, haven't we already given away the cassocks and tin staff? Why are we still staying here?" Mu Zha asked the doubts in his heart.
The Bodhisattva frowned and said, "Although Tang Emperor Li Shimin asked Xuanzang to fetch Buddhist scriptures from the West, that order was wrong."
Mu Zha asked doubtfully: "Isn't it right?"
The Bodhisattva nodded and said, "That's right! The imperial decree is about taking, not asking for it." Nine
Mu Zha said in confusion: "Isn't it just one word? Why care about that?"
The Bodhisattva shook his head and said: "No! You don't understand. Going to Xitian Lingshan to obtain Buddhist scriptures not only requires great perseverance and great luck on the part of the Buddhist scripture seeker, but also requires the help of human luck.
If Emperor Li Shimin of the Tang Dynasty had the word "seeking" in his imperial edict, then Chen Xuanzang's westward journey was taken in Li Shimin's place.
And what is strange is why Li Shimin did not become sworn brothers with Xuanzang. "
Mu Zha was still confused and said: "Isn't this just a formality! Won't it be successful when the true scripture reaches the Eastern Land?"
The Bodhisattva still shook his head and said: "You still don't understand. As long as Li Shimin and Xuanzang are sworn brothers, and the imperial decree is to obtain the true scriptures for him, then every step of Xuanzang's journey to the west will be paved by the fate of the emperor.
In the future, after the true scriptures are spread to the east, our Buddhist sect will definitely flourish. "Nine
Mu Zha was shocked and said: "Is it so serious? What should we do? Xuanzang is leaving tomorrow."
The Bodhisattva was silent and speechless.
Mu Zha glanced at Bodhisattva quietly, and then said with a hint of understanding in his eyes: "Bodhisattva, when I came here, I heard that the ghosts of the underworld accidentally let the ghost of the Dragon King of Jinghe escape.
The Dragon King of Jinghe resented Li Shimin so much that he was afraid that he would cause trouble to Li Shimin again. "
Hearing this, the Bodhisattva showed compassion and said, "Amitabha! This is no small matter. Go and inform the Emperor of Tang Dynasty to prevent him from being harmed by the evil dragon of Jinghe River."
