Summarize the past year.
I have been working all year round, indeed not even a single day off. In the first half of the year, I wrote the ending of "The End of the Song Dynasty", and on June 1, I started the book of "Huocai of the Tang Dynasty". There were no chapters released for more than ten days in the middle of the preparation work for the new book.
According to the statistics of Writer's Assistant, I coded a total of 2.65 million words in 2023, an average of 7,470 words per day. I updated 98 times throughout the year, and my accumulated coded words lead 99.9% of the writers on the site.
For me, no matter what the results are, I have lived up to my time this year.
In addition to writing, I have also tried my best in other aspects. No matter what the harvest is, at least I have no regrets.

Let me report on the results in December. This month I updated a total of 220,000 words, and "Man Tang Huacai" has exceeded 55,000 words.
In addition, "The End of the Song Dynasty" has received 44,000 orders, and "I am not an idiot, but a pure man", an old book with only 31 orders, is also likely to exceed 10,000 orders.

Speaking of this summary, I keep it the same every month. I hope I can maintain my status and be able to create for a longer period of time. Whether it’s life or writing a book, there will inevitably be troughs. I feel lucky enough to be able to maintain a state where I can continue to work hard at any time.
"Man Tang Huacai" has written 1.78 million words, and the plot is still advancing steadily. It is obvious that at about 2 million words, the biggest conflict in the entire book will begin, which is the chapter of the Anshi Rebellion.
Before that, I have to lay the groundwork.
Let me share my thoughts on writing a long novel recently.
After reaching one million or two million words, gradually there will be more and more structural content.
If many of the plots and good-looking content that everyone likes are compared to meat, the structural content is the bones. To remain intact, the whole book must have bones and flesh. Every time he writes about a plot that is structural and must have but may not be good-looking, the author usually already knows what the response will be. After all, he has to set up the structure well before he can fill it with content.
My approach to the last extra chapter of "The End of the Song Dynasty" was to remove all the structures and only write the content that I wanted to write and the part that told the story. Changed from time narrative to content narrative, so those are not actually called extras, but should be called postscripts.
