I added a little bit later in Chapter 2.
Then I will give a little spoiler without affecting the follow-up and give an interpretation.
First of all, these three days of chapters can be regarded as foreshadowing and transitional chapters.
After Xue Bai arrived in Yanshi, he had two major parts. The first part was to discover problems in all aspects, and the second part was to fight back.
These three days have progressed to the beginning of the counterattack, and a total of 6 chapters have been started. Because the author knows the whole story, but readers don’t know that there are many perspectives, it will be very confusing.
When the whole incident is finished, it may become clearer. Now let me sort it out a little bit.
The day before yesterday and yesterday, killing Guo Wanjin and Li Saner were not the climax, but the first step of Xue Bai's counterattack. Therefore, I did not give too much description to Guo Wanjin and Li Saner. Instead, in the process of killing them, I explained the attitudes of all the forces and prepared foreshadowing.
Through these things, the changes in the attitudes of the county magistrate, Lu Shi, and the Song family are highlighted. For example, when people watched Song Li’s story, they didn’t know what the use was. The follow-up was a very important part.
In these two chapters today, two places were set on fire, and Xue Bai seemed completely defeated. I know this is a time when the situation is at its lowest, but Xue Bai actually didn't take any risks.
There wasn't much risk in his plan, either.
The first one is to burn down the inn. As long as Du Jin surrenders, they will definitely survive. Because they are still the Zhang family in name, but Gao Chong has suspicions and must be confirmed first. So this was deliberately forcing Gao Chong to make things worse.
The second one was to burn down the dark house, which was deliberately done by Xue Bai. In ancient times, arson was a big deal and would inevitably alarm many people.
His purpose was not to pin his hopes on the county magistrate. To put it bluntly, it is to divide hostile forces, intensify conflicts, and bring things in the dark to the light through two fires. I won’t spoil any more details. I added a paragraph after today’s second chapter, which ends with 5103 words. The last sentence is the version of “Go and call all our servants.”
You should be able to guess part of it by reading this version.
Simply put, the bigger the trouble, the more detrimental it will be to Gao Chong.
Many readers wonder why Gao Chong is so arrogant, because Xue Bai just wants to force him to make more trouble step by step.
Another point is the setting of force.
I didn't spend any time setting a force value. For example, the combat power of Xue Bai's men is 80, and the combat power of Gao Chong's men is 81. This game is just a fight between gangsters. An Lushan was in Hebei, and it was impossible to send troops to a smuggling transit station.
You can understand that individual soldiers have similar combat capabilities, veterans are better than gangsters, armor is better than without armor, a person with a will can defeat a person without a heart, and he will run away when encountering a large number of people.
The parts that require fighting have also been written. Those who need to be killed by force are two businessmen and Qu Shuai who are not described much. After killing them, the next step is to enter the process of competing for the hearts of the people.
Let me finish writing this plot first. How should I put it? I have planned the overall structure and the succession and transition of this plot. But it is impossible to write it all at once. The author and readers must have different feelings about the overall plot.
I won’t do a summary this month, as you may not be in the mood to read it, so I’ll focus on telling the story clearly first.
In addition, the problems mentioned by some readers do exist. I will slow down my writing and refine it carefully. Again, it can be achieved by updating at least 6,000 words per day.
Finally, thank you all and wish you all a happy National Day holiday~~
