Let’s talk about the structure of the current 830,000 words, which may help you figure out the plot more clearly.
The main plot is definitely the protagonist's road to progress. Since the beginning of the book, there have been three events developing together - dealing with the East Palace, the protagonist's life experience, and becoming an official in the imperial examination.
These three major events constitute the first major part of the book.
Starting from the Du Youlin case, the Longyou Death Case, the Yang Shenjin case, and finally the Wang Zhongsi case, the prince lost the threat, which can be regarded as the result of this stage of dealing with the East Palace;
From Xue Bai being picked up of unknown origin, found to be an official slave, pretending to be Xue Ling's son and becoming a white body, to finally returning to his original life and becoming a wealthy householder, this is the transformation of the protagonist's life experience;
From Xue Bai's contact with Yang Yuyao, he presented various things to Li Longji, became a disciple of Yan Zhenqing, copied poems to increase his reputation, promoted Yang Dang to make up for his background, participated in the Spring Festival, and finally won the top prize.
These three major events are intertwined and written together.
From the plot point of view, it can be understood that Xue Bai did three main things at this stage to complete the transformation of his identity; in terms of structure, my arrangements are mutually progressive, and the conflicts of different events will also contribute to another event.
I allocated 830,000 words of pen and ink to write this first part. In fact, it was a bit risky because Xue Bai did not have an official position yet. If you have an official position, everyone can feel better directly.
The reason why I write this is that on the one hand, I have to take care of the timeline of historical events and the time point of the Spring Festival; on the other hand, I also hope to show more of the style of the time and the reasons that foreshadowed the chaos of the Tang Dynasty in this part.
In addition to the three major events, there are also some small events in this part, such as explaining the appearance of various characters, foreshadowing the protagonist's current strength, industry in the market, papermaking technology, etc.
The next part will obviously be the process of Xue Bai's official promotion and growth in strength.
It is now a transition between these two major parts.
For example, yesterday's two chapters talked about Xue Bai having an identity and becoming a well-dressed householder. After becoming an official, he will inevitably have a new way of getting along with Li Linfu. What is the civil service examination like? The attitude of the aristocratic family towards him has changed, and how to deal with him. Strategy, the impact of being the top pick on his reputation, and the progress of his love life...
These contents are the transformation from a false identity to a well-dressed household. With an official status, one begins to understand the unspoken rules of the officialdom of the Tang Dynasty and how new contradictions arise.

Explain some historical issues.
When I was writing "The End of the Song Dynasty", I checked the information and saw Jia Sidao's performance on the Jinghu battlefield, his military exploits in the Ezhou battle, and the Gongtian law indeed touched the interests of many people, and I even saw a very detailed account of him. The deeds of donating land to advocate public land laws.
When I wrote about Li Linfu, I didn't find any of this. I only saw that "Li Linfu must be very capable if he can be prime minister for so long."
After searching around, I found that he revised Tang laws and could collect taxes. I also wrote about it, but I didn’t see any very specific measures or things. Of course, this refers to very detailed laws like Jia Sidao’s Gongtian Law. implementation.
There are many records accusing Li Linfu of various messy things, such as asking for cockfights, using sticks to play deer, and moon hall to harm the enemy. Some people say that the "Old Book of Tang" and "New Book of Tang" smeared Li Linfu. This is beyond my control. Whatever feelings a person gives me in historical materials, I will write down my feelings about him.
I am subjective. When I look at the history of the Song Dynasty, I feel that Jia Sidao held on during the turbulent late years of the Southern Song Dynasty, and I have a better impression. When I look at the history of the Tang Dynasty, I feel that Li Linfu ruled until the end, and the prosperous Kaiyuan era turned into the Anshi Rebellion. Even if I don't say it's all his responsibility, it won't make him any more powerful.
I just wrote that it is not my duty to overturn Li Linfu's verdict.
In addition, Emperor Daizong Li Yu is still called Li Chu in his current appearance.
Since Xue Bai is not going to assist him, it is inevitable that he will be written as a villain. That's it. It's not that I mean to discredit him.
Before writing this book, I thought Daizong was pretty good. After reading the historical materials and the stories about him, Shen and Cui, I can only say that I definitely couldn’t write a protagonist to assist him anyway.
All in all, this is a story that does not need to be elevated to the posthumous name of the ancients. I hope everyone can gain more happiness and emotional value from the story.
