"Obviously I have been very cautious, but I don't know when it started. It seems that everyone knows who the 'Golden Viper' is--"
Amosta smiled to himself.
"We paid a heavy price to find you."
There was a deep apology in Vitiya's tone. She seemed to want to apologize for approaching Amosta in this way. However, Amosta did not give her a chance to speak. He turned around and left with a steady step. He walked toward the stairs with slow footsteps, until the figure completely disappeared, and then an indifferent voice came from the dark hole,
"Change somewhere, Ms. Cliona, I don't want to fight anyone here, especially with a powerful wizard like you."
............
The two of them turned away from the lights of the city and walked eastward toward the wasteland in the suburbs. Vitiya followed Amosta. When they passed an arch bridge over a small river, she noticed that Amosta Blaine's footsteps were trembling. He was embarrassed and glanced at the slow-flowing river almost subconsciously, but soon he stopped his abnormal behavior and continued to walk forward with a steady pace.
The two of them walked in silence for a long time, until the road leading out of the city turned into a crooked wild path. Amosta stopped. He took out his wand from somewhere and waved it violently, with a powerful expulsion effect. The curse ordered the animals lurking in the shadows to flee in panic from the land that might be in danger.
"Tell me about it, Ms. Cliona--"
As a brilliant burst of fire swept across Amosta's body, the short-sleeved T-shirt and jeans he was wearing disappeared, replaced by a slightly old dark green wizard robe.
The bad mood reflected on the face was a lazy smile,
"How did you figure out that the Golden Viper was Amosta Brain? I don't think the painful price you mentioned was a lot of gold Galleons?"
"It's bird physiognomy, Mr. Blaine."
In the wilderness, the billions of stars hanging in the night and the bright moon are the only sources of light. Vitiya, who exudes a "natural atmosphere", seems to be integrated with the surrounding environment.
"Divination?" Amosta said with a ridiculous look on his face.
"I remember that I have cast some protective spells on myself. Those spells can prevent me from being targeted by location or some inexplicable curses cast in a way that casts spells. Miss Cliona, you are lying."
"Divination and sacrifice--"
Vitiya no longer had the calm expression, and her lowered eyes showed some dejection and sadness.
"You are a powerful wizard, Mr. Brain. In order to find out the true identity of the 'Golden Viper', a respected elder gave his life for this."
"It's so touching."
Amosta sneered, but his eyes were extremely sinister.
"For what purpose, Miss Cliona, if my mind is not confused, I remember that I should not have had any grudges with the Druid sect, so that I inherited the name of 'Cliona' , the noble 'Priest Master' did not hesitate to approach me in this way?"
"We need your help, Mr. Blaine."
Vitiya raised her head, and she aimed her eyes as pure as emerald starlight at Amosta. She seemed not to notice the cold air lingering around him, and said in a sincere voice.
"Since you have heard of us, then you must know about our grudges with the Holy See, Mr. Brain. For many centuries, we have traveled to many countries in Europe and America, just hoping to find a pure land where we can live. But those priests who do evil things in the name of faith have never stopped massacring us--"
"What does this have to do with me?"
Amosta continued to sneer,
"Could it be that you want me to lead you into the Vatican and kill the Pope?
In that case, I have a powerful guy to recommend. The headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Albus Dumbledore, is an old guy who is even more powerful than me. He also has a high status and a kind heart. I think he will definitely do it. I pity your pitiful situation, and maybe I'd like to help you. "
Vitia obviously will not take Amosta's sarcastic words seriously. She has a heavy historical responsibility and a calm heart, and she will not be easily shaken.
"We don't want our fierce ideological conflict with the Holy See to involve any innocent people, Mr. Brain. For many centuries, we have been using our own strength to protect our beliefs. Even if we are still alive, we have never thought about it. With the help of wizards, but..."
Amosta was not in the mood to listen to these endless histories, so he interrupted Vitia directly,
"Your purpose and the reason why you came to me, Lord Priest, this is what I want to hear."
"We want to open the ruins of Merlin, Mr. Brain. There is a legendary item that originally belonged to the Druid religion. With its power, maybe we can have a peaceful place to live."
"Merlin's ruins?"
Amosta narrowed his eyes and asked in an uncertain tone,
"Do you want to open the black stone tower built by Merlin in the underground world of Knockturn Alley?"
Before Vitiya could give a clear answer, Amosta suddenly thought of something and frowned.
"I have received some reminders. Someone told me that in the first half of the year, a group of forces that had never appeared in the underground world appeared in the underground world. They once issued a commission to explore magic ruins... but then it ended without any problem. After that, they Start asking about my identity--"
"This must be the message delivered to you by Mr. Karkus Foley--"
Vitiya smiled slightly and said, "We have only issued commissions to him, and we have also noticed that he seems to be very interested in our origins."
This is a woman who is difficult to deal with - this thought arose in Amosta's mind, both in terms of strength and wisdom.
As the conversation continued, Amosta was not as angry as he was at the beginning, but he still had no favorable impression of this female priest who approached him unscrupulously. He was just worried that he would be entangled with such a person.
"We don't know what exactly exists in the mysterious black tower in the underground world, but Merlin's final resting place is not there, Mr. Brain-"
Vitiya raised her right hand. The light cyan bracelet on her delicate wrist emitted a dazzling light and turned into a staff formed by two thick grape vines intertwined together. Star could clearly feel the powerful mana and vitality from this strange-looking staff.
Vitiya raised her cane, used the void as a curtain, and drew something. After a moment, a bright white scroll unfolded in the void.
In a picture similar to a TV screen, there is an old priestess with eyes and hair that are exactly the same color as Vitia. The place she is in is a primeval forest that Amosta has never seen before. The old priest stands on a gray-white texture. On the altar, the cane in Vitiya's hand was held high.
As the ancient and mysterious chants resounded through the jungle, the dark green branches and leaves of the vigorous ancient trees around the altar bloomed with green fluorescence, and black mist rose from the earth. The faint light and mist rushed from all directions as if being pulled by something. In front of the old priest, a blur of light and shadow gathered together.
The outlines of light and shadow gradually became clearer, and a golden strange snake emerged from the inaccessible virgin forest. The face of the old priest on the altar suddenly turned pale, and he vomited blood and couldn't bear it.
After seeing the strange snake, Amosta's eyes suddenly revealed, and he finally understood how he was targeted...
ps: As a special note, this book will not describe the Holy See. HP fans are a bit out of their depth when writing this.
