It has to be said that even monks know how to choose food.

Lu Yuan and others found the inn and each showed their name tags. As a result, when the innkeeper arranged accommodation, the Shangguan brothers and sisters all had a small single-person courtyard with a courtyard.

But Lu Yuan and Qi Yun had simple single rooms.

There is such a huge difference in treatment between a nameless little village in the wilderness and a famous family.

"Brother Lu, my courtyard is quite big and has several rooms. Brother, why don't you live in the same courtyard with me?"

When she arrived at the residence, Shangguan Haiyue frowned when she saw Lu Yuan's simple single room, then her heart moved and she warmly invited her.

In fact, this Shangguan lady was somewhat resistant when she first received requests from her father.

After all, even if you are born into a wealthy family, you have known from an early age that you cannot make the final decision about your marriage. When necessary, I have to sacrifice for my family and marry others, so I am mentally prepared.

But when this day comes, I still can't really accept it calmly.

But when Shangguan Haiyue arrived in Luyang, she saw with her own eyes the husband her father had chosen. The Shangguan lady's mind changed.

The reason is also very simple. He was attracted by Lu Yuan.

One thing to mention here is that the body that Lu Yuan traveled through was not actually very handsome, but it was not ugly either, just average and a bit delicate.

But he has practiced martial arts for many years and strengthened his body, so he naturally has a heroic aura about him.

At the same time, he studied Taoism, cultivated his body and mind, and coupled with the influence of the aura after the jade pieces tempered his internal strength, he naturally had an ethereal aura.

The combination of these two temperaments, coupled with a decent appearance, makes Lu Yuan himself, in the eyes of outsiders, really otherworldly, like the kind of heroic god in myths and legends who came to the world.

Well, that might be a bit of an exaggeration, but it’s actually pretty much the same.

The above-mentioned presentations are secondary.

In terms of personal strength, Lu Yuan himself is at the pinnacle of the first-class, and is about to break through the innate martial arts master.

In terms of status, he is the Marquis of Luyang and the General of Pingxi. He is in charge of tens of thousands of soldiers and horses, and he has two palaces. He can be called a prince in one place.

How could such a brave man who was the best among his peers, any twenty-nine-year-old woman who was about to get married, not fall for her after meeting him and getting along with him?

So after meeting and getting to know each other in depth, Shangguan Haiyue changed from a little resistance to Lu Yuan to full admiration.

I wish the two could form a good relationship immediately and fly together.

Otherwise, she would have missed such a good match. She really didn't know where she could find a better one.

But unfortunately, in the face of his attentiveness and initiative, Marquis Lu Yang didn't seem to be very enthusiastic, and his response was mediocre all the time.

Miss Shangguan's heart was filled with disappointment and unwillingness.

That's it.

When Lu Yuan heard the invitation, he immediately refused: "No. As Taoist monks, we pay attention to fate. Since Ziyun Taoist master arranged this accommodation for me, he was a guest, so I naturally followed the arrangement.

Moreover, I am a man and Miss Shangguan is a woman. There are differences between men and women. For the sake of the reputation of the young lady, it is better to keep a distance. "

Just kidding, he wished he could be alone, get away from the Shangguan brother and sister, and have some peace and quiet.

At this time, it was obvious that Shangguan Haiyue's purpose was impure. How could he rush into a trap and deliver himself right in front of him? He wanted to eat him from the mouth of a tigress.

Although Lu Yuan didn't care much about his innocence, he didn't want to throw it away at this moment.

"Okay." Shangguan Haiyue's plan failed. He was a little angry in his heart, with a hint of grievance on his face. He took his luggage and left alone.

"Oh, little sister."

Shangguan Guangbai next to him saw this scene and sighed helplessly, then clasped his fists at Lu Yuan and said, "My little sister has lost her composure. Brother Lu, my brother and sister will go and put away their luggage first. After packing up the apartment, we will have dinner later." Come and meet you two again.”

"Okay, brother Shangguan, let's go." Lu Yuan nodded, and after watching the other party leave, he turned back and walked towards his room.

On the way together, Qi Yun looked at the backs of Shangguan brother and sister, and then at Lu Yuan, and couldn't help but said: "Friend Lu, I think Miss Shangguan has outstanding beauty, and her talent and martial arts are also among the best among her peers. She should be a perfect match.

But in the face of such a good match, Taoist friend took the initiative to show his kindness, but he resisted and rejected her, which was a bit disappointing to the beauty. "

Along the way from Dongting County to Yuzhang County, Qi Yun also saw a lot of Shangguan Haiyue's expressions of concern for Lu Yuan on the way.

A lady from a wealthy family was so attentive to a man, and her love for him was not concealed at all.

But Lu Yuan either avoided talking about these, or pretended to be dumbfounded, and never responded much.

Seeing this scene, Qi Yun, a Taoist cultivator, felt that he had let down his beautiful lady.

At this time, I couldn't help but mention it.

"Fellow Daoist Qi, although Miss Shangguan is nice, she may not be a good match for me."

Lu Yuan looked at the fellow Taoist who was starting to gossip and was about to become a matchmaker, and had to give a slight reminder: "Although I am General Pingxi of the imperial court now, with tens of thousands of soldiers and horses, I am only a local guard general after all.

But Miss Shangguan's father, the general who conquered the West, represented the central court.

He sent his daughter to me, and then wanted to arrange a marriage. Whether it was good or evil, good or bad, and what the purpose behind it was, everything had to be carefully considered.

This is not because I like Miss Shangguan and can get married at will.

At my position, marriage is no longer just a matter of concern to me, but a matter of life and death for hundreds of thousands of people in the area. "

When Qi Yun heard this, he was dumbfounded, and then he smiled bitterly and said: "Well, I have been dining and sleeping in the open air with fellow Taoist, traveling around the world, and enjoying myself. I have forgotten the identity of fellow Taoist Lu.

Indeed, if Taoist friend is alone, then Miss Shangguan is indeed a good match.

But Taoist friends are princes with tens of thousands of troops and hundreds of thousands of people under their control. The matter of marriage is really not a trivial matter.

Alas, I originally wanted to be a matchmaker. Now it seems that it is impossible.

The prosperous world of mortals disturbs people's tranquility.

That's why poor Taoists hide in barren mountains and shabby temples, only seeking immortality without asking about the outside world. "

Taoist Qi Yun couldn't help but sigh at this time.

It is precisely because he has seen too much and seen clearly that he can endure loneliness and poverty and live in the mountains and mountains.

At this time, my thoughts moved, and it was because I cared about Lu Yuan, my Taoist friend, that I lost my way.

Now it seems that my practice is still not enough and I need to polish it more.

"It is admirable for fellow Taoists to live in poverty and enjoy Taoism, and to devote themselves to immortality."

Lu Yuan looked at Qi Yun who was slightly disappointed, and couldn't help but said hurriedly: "It's Lu who is greedy for prosperity and power, and can't let go of these. After all, he is not as firm as his Taoist friends. In terms of cultivation, I am still lacking."

Qi Yun smiled: "It's not bad. I can't stand the world of mortals, so I can only hide in the mountains and practice Taoism. It's even more rare for Taoist friends to be in the world of mortals, but they can still stick to their true hearts and focus on the great road." .

Perhaps only by being like Taoist friends can we practice diligently and achieve enlightenment. "

Taoist Master Qi thought of Lu Yuan's rapid improvement and enlightenment in recent years, and couldn't help but envy him.

He hid in the mountains and practiced Taoism for decades, but he failed to achieve anything famous.

However, Taoist friend Lu has been in the world for more than ten years, but he has achieved success in Taoism, has hope for immortality, and has a bright future. He does not know how much better than himself.

"I have only achieved a little success now. When it comes to enlightenment, I still don't know what the way forward is."

When Lu Yuan heard Qi Yun's envy, he shook his head and sighed.

Although he has a bit of immortality, he has never been able to take advantage of it. Even martial arts practice has not found a direction on how to break through the innate.

I just hope that I can gain something from participating in the Dharma conference this time.

With this little achievement, he is still far away from cultivating immortality and becoming a Taoist.

At this time, the door had arrived. Lu Yuan and Qi Yun both had luggage in their hands, so they said no more and said goodbye to each other before entering the room.

After entering the room, Lu Yuan glanced around.

There was only a bed, a tea table, a wardrobe, a bookcase, and nothing else in the room. To say simple, it is really simple.

But fortunately, he had survived living in a cave. Now he had a room, a bed, a table and a cabinet, which was pretty good.

Therefore, there was no discomfort and I happily settled down.

It was around two or three in the afternoon, and there was still some time before dinner. Therefore, after putting away his things, Lu Yuan was not in a hurry to go out, but read the Taoist scriptures in the room.

It should be said that it was the room prepared by Ziyundao.

Lu Yuan found a dozen books on the bookcase in the room and looked at the directory. They were all written by some of Ziyang Dao's ancestors. At this time, it is placed in the house for guests to watch.

In order to export its own Taoist ideas, Ziyang Taoism has done its best.

Thinking that he had come here and was about to attend the other party's Fa conference to learn more about the right thoughts, Lu Yuan picked up a copy of "Yunxiaozi Jingming Zhenxuan Sutra" and started reading.

This book has more than 70,000 words in total. According to the autobiography at the beginning, the author of this book, Yun Xiaozi, is the seventh generation Taoist master of Ziyun Taoism. He was a figure more than 2,000 years ago. He said in his autobiography that he was about to ascend to immortality, so he left this before leaving. Sutra to inform future generations.

This opening preface actually made Lu Yuan slightly stunned.

If he remembers correctly, the current Taoist Ziyun is the nineteenth generation Taoist of Ziyun Tao, which is only twelve generations away from the seventh generation Taoist in this book.

But in twelve generations, more than two thousand years have passed.

"Is it possible? Can every generation of Taoist Ziyun live to be two hundred years old?" Lu Yuan made some calculations and couldn't help but come to this result. He was shocked and stunned.

There are rumors in the world that once a warrior breaks through his innate nature, he breaks the mysterious barrier between heaven and earth, and his own essence is not leaked, so his life span is extended to one hundred and fifty years.

But one hundred and fifty years old is almost the limit for a warrior. I have never seen many people who can exceed this limit.

But all the Taoist masters of Ziyun Tao can live for more than two hundred years.

"Is this the difference between cultivating immortals and practicing martial arts?

After successfully cultivating immortality, can he at least be able to live for more than fifty years longer than the innate master who is at the limit of a warrior? "

Lu Yuan couldn't help but feel agitated when he thought of this. I am even more curious and yearning for cultivating immortals.

He suppressed these thoughts and continued to look down.

Turn over the preface and you’ll find the main text.

This sutra is no different from other Taoist sutras. It mainly talks about some mental issues in cultivation, some fire control spells, and some of Yun Xiaozi's travels and experiences.

Lu Yuan didn't pay much attention to the state of mind spells and the like.

Many Taoist scriptures he had read before basically had similar narratives, and among them there were only a few authors more famous than Yun Xiaozi.

But no matter which Taoist scripture it is, some of the descriptions of the state of mind are mysterious and mysterious. They can only be understood and experienced by the observers themselves, and the final results will not be exactly the same as what is said in the scriptures.

As for spells and the like, let alone that.

They are just some ritual incantations. Even if you set up the ritual and chant it out, it will be of no use at all.

Forget about the fire control spell in front of you.

Lu Yuan had also read in the Taoist scriptures before, which were said to be incantations that could summon ghosts and gods, drive away water and avoid fire, control flying swords... and so on. But when he copied it, none of it took effect.

On the contrary, some special rituals can be arranged, and through this set of behaviors and the final finished product environment, they can help people calm down their minds, better understand Taoism, and improve their mood, which is somewhat useful.

However, although these Taoist scriptures, mantras, rituals and other things are of no use, it cannot be said that these are fake and deceptive.

Lu Yuan felt that the Taoist Scripture might be true, and some of the mantras and rituals described in it were also true.

And the reason why outsiders like them can't have the same effect when they copy it may be because they lack mana.

After all, no matter which myth or Taoist scripture, when writing these stories and scriptures, they all stated a premise, that is, they need to have magic power.

Just like if a car wants to move, you have to have electricity or oil to drive it. Without energy, you won't be able to drive even the best car.

And mana is equivalent to energy.

'Perhaps more than just mana is needed. '

Lu Yuan has been practicing martial arts for a long time. Although he has never cultivated as an immortal, they are both extraordinary and should have something in common.

Therefore, he had also speculated that perhaps mana and those incantations and rituals were not all.

Just like a martial artist, moves are one aspect, internal strength is another, and the technical coordination of internal strength and moves is another.

Mana is equivalent to a warrior's internal power, moves are equivalent to incantations, and the combination of internal force and moves is the key to casting a spell.

The key to techniques like this belongs to the true inheritance and secrets of each major lineage, and will not be resorted to in scriptures.

This is one of the reasons why Lu Yuan has no interest in various spells and rituals after reading more Taoist scriptures.

Very simple.

What others put out are just empty shelves and superficial goods. No matter how much you read them, if you don’t have core technology, what’s the point of it?

And when you have core skills, you will naturally have matching spells. It is also useless to learn other spells that are not suitable for you.

Lu Yuan is not a magician. If he doesn't use these superficial skills to cheat money, he certainly won't waste time learning these things.

Skip the content of the incantation and read on, there are some travel notes.

This Taoist Priest Yun Xiaozi is a person who likes to travel around the world.

According to his description, there are four seas and eight wastelands in the world, five continents and ten lands, and the area where the Yue Kingdom is located is just Dongzhou among the five continents, located on the boundary of the East China Sea.

In addition to Dongzhou, there are also Nanzhou, Xizhou, Beixuanzhou, and Nanxuanzhou.

Among the five continents, Dongzhou is the largest, with an area almost equal to the other four continents combined.

Dongzhou also has the largest population, the most prosperous products and culture, and has hundreds of countries. The largest one is comparable to Liang, Yue, Zhou and other countries, while the smallest one is only equivalent to one prefecture and one county of Yue Kingdom, swirling and annihilating like duckweeds.

Going west from Dongzhou is Xizhou. This continent is connected to Dongzhou, but the connection is very short and narrow, only a few dozen miles. The passage to the north and south is the ocean.

Xizhou is located in the West Sea. The land is mostly desert and wild forests with sparse culture and sparse population. There are very few founders and most of them are barbaric tribes. The people in this place are ignorant, barbaric and lazy, and they are extremely ugly, like evil spirits. Therefore, some people call it the land of Rakshasa.

Nanzhou is located across the sea from Dongzhou. It is located in the South China Sea. Its area is only equivalent to two or three Dayue. It is surrounded by islands. Its population is sparsely populated compared to Xizhou. It has not even established a country. They are all barbarian tribes. Extremely ignorant.

Beixuanzhou and Nanxuanzhou are located in the Guyuan Sea. This place has a prosperous culture, a prosperous population, and many founding countries. However, the people in this place are barbaric, advocate blood sacrifices, witchcraft is prevalent, and there are many people who are ignorant, which is not worth mentioning.

The above is a summary of the experiences gained by Taoist Priest Yun Xiaozi after spending a hundred years traveling around the world.

The travel chapter has more than 20,000 words, which can be said to have greatly broadened Lu Yuan's horizons, and also made him know for the first time that there are actually five continents and four seas in the world.

He had read many scriptures and classics before, in which the vastness of the world was mentioned, mostly in terms of the nine states and ten domains divided by the three emperors in ancient times.

However, according to the Taoist Scriptures of Yun Xiaozi, the nine states and ten domains of the three ancient emperors were only limited to the East Continent and the East China Sea, and even only occupied part of these two continents and seas.

Compared to the five continents and four seas, it is just a small place.

"According to Yun Xiaozi's travels, there are cultivators in other continents and seas, but the system of cultivation is very different from that in Dongzhou or Dayue.

There are witchcraft, blood magic, ghost magic, insect magic, Shinto, etc...

Even the most basic martial arts techniques are very different and not the same.

How vast is this world? "

Lu Yuan read the entire sutra and couldn't help but sigh after closing the book.

Although Yun Xiaozi only has more than 20,000 words to describe his travels, it has brought him from one perspective to another, and is no longer limited to Dai Viet.

"According to the scriptures, the most prosperous and powerful places in the entire five continents and four seas are the areas where the countries of Yue, Liang, and Zhou are located.

As for the rest, whether it's elsewhere in Dongzhou or the other four continents, they are all far worse than here.

From this point of view, the reason why the three ancient emperors divided the Nine Provinces and Ten Domains was probably not because they did not know how vast the world was, but because they looked down upon other wild lands and did not bother to include them. "

Lu Yuan thought of this possibility and realized that maybe this was the truth.

After all, in ancient times, theoretically speaking, the spirit of fairy spirits was much stronger than it is now.

The three ancient emperors at that time were truly top-notch gods among myths and legends.

Yun Xiaozi can travel all over the world. It is impossible for a person like this to be unable to do this.

And knowing it but not telling it, there seems to be no other reason besides looking down on him.
