Chapter 409: Only return to heaven, not to those without virtue

On August 13, Zhang Zhao finally returned to Liangzhou before the Mid-Autumn Festival.

However, the Mid-Autumn Festival is not popular at this time, and it is just an ordinary festival for watching the moon.

But Zhang Zhao's wives and concubines knew that King Zhang attached great importance to this festival, so they made it very grand every August 15th.

According to Zhang Zhao's request, the whole family was reunited together, with fruits, vegetables and wine, of course.

Zhang Zhao's biological mother, Mrs. Song, was wearing a very simple coat and skirt. She seemed to be in tune with her temperament. Her calmness and simplicity revealed some timidity.

So when she heard Zhang Zhao talk about establishing a country, Song visibly trembled, with a look of fear on her face. Zhang Zhao could only go over and hold Song's hand and explain softly.

"My son founded the country this time because he was unanimously supported by everyone. The emperor of the Central Plains has lost his virtue. We have returned to the country with loyalty and righteousness. We can no longer live under the service of an unscrupulous person. Everything has been arranged. Don't worry, my mother-in-law!"

After hearing her son's repeated assurances, a smile appeared on Mrs. Song's face.

"In life, power and wealth are fleeting. My son should be satisfied with what he has achieved today and don't cause too many troubles."

Zhang Zhao nodded repeatedly, but sighed in his heart. No wonder Zhang Zhao before time travel liked to chant Buddha's name. It turned out that he inherited it from his mother, the Song family.

However, this is good. It would also be good to have a good-natured Queen Mother in the palace from now on!

If the legitimate mother, Princess Fengtian, came, it would definitely not be so easy.

During the conversation, King Zhang's sons and daughters all left on their own or were carried over.

Zhang Zhao now has six biological children. The eldest son is Zhang Xiancun, also known as Li Zhun, who was born in Li Ruoliu, and is about to turn eight this year.

This guy is a well-known social chatterbox, and he can quickly strike up a conversation with anyone he meets.

I wasn't afraid when I met Zhang Zhao. He just asked questions when I caught him. Sometimes he was extremely cute, and sometimes he was extremely arrogant.

However, unlike his mother's expectation of becoming a capable person in governing a country like his uncle Li Ruoyu, or a general who would expand territories like his second uncle Li Ruotai, this boy's intelligence was all wrong.

He was able to speak at the age of two and read poetry at the age of five. Now he is not yet eight years old, but he is already very talented and knowledgeable in painting, especially Buddhist paintings.

As a result, there was no one in Liangzhou who could be his teacher.

this....!

He's barely eight years old! What if you grow up?

Thinking of figures such as Yuchi Bazina and Yuchi Yiseng from his maternal ancestors in history, Zhang Zhao also understood that it was probably the Yuchi family's painting gene that was suddenly awakened.

Originally, Li Ruoliu was very dissatisfied with Zhang Xiancun for taking what he considered a crooked path, but Zhang Zhao liked it very much.

Zhang Xiancun was the eldest son, and several of his uncles were generals under Zhang Zhao. In order to calm people's hearts, Zhang Zhai even showed him around as his successor.

Now that Zhang Xiancun has the potential to become a Xiaoyao Prince who is both outstanding in poetry and painting, Zhang Zhao is certainly happy.

Seeing this, Li Ruoliu had no choice but to give up, but she had a new target, Zhang Zhao's third son Zhang Xianzhao.

This Li Ruoliu is a machine that gives birth to a son. Often, with just a few touches, she will become pregnant, and she will definitely give birth to a son.

Zhang Zhao currently has three sons, and she gave birth to two by herself.

Zhang Xianzhao was born in April this year. He is only four months old now. He is fat and very cute. He is the apple of his biological mother's eye.

No one can delay Song's chanting, but after Zhang Xianzhao arrived, he could stop chanting.

The second son was Zhang Xianyu, born to Ayiguli. This was the son Zhang Zhao was more worried about.

He is six years old this year, probably because his mother is a widow, or a widow who was sent to the door, and his status is not high. Zhang Xianyu has always been in Khotan and Ningyuan, and he has not had much communication with Zhang Zhao.

The child is chubby and has some Yellow-headed Uighur blood. He actually looks quite cute.

He's just not good at words and relatively introverted. His reading and writing are completely different from Li Zhun's. He still can't recognize fifty characters and there's nothing special about his martial arts.

well! Zhang Zhao sighed, with such a temper, how can he go to Talos and become a great king in the future?

After waving his hand, Zhang Zhao summoned Zhang Xianyu to his side, preparing to train him properly. If that didn't work, he would let him be a free prince from now on.

Wasn't it my ideal to live in a fat house where there was no shortage of money or women?

Seeing Zhang Xianyu sitting next to Zhang Zhao, some people were dissatisfied, and a little girl wearing a gold woven jacket and skirt ran over with a pout.

The little girl is less than seven years old, but she is already very tall, with long legs, snow-white skin, a bright red mouth and a strange expression on her face.

Everything perfectly covers Zhang Zhao's preferences. How could one not love such a daughter?

This is Zhang Qixiu, the eldest daughter Cao Yanmian gave birth to to Zhang Zhao. The little girl saw that her father had been back for so long and she did not get close to him. Tears welled up in her eyes.

Zhang Xianyu, who had just been sitting next to Zhang Zhao, saw Zhang Qixiu running over. The little fat man quickly stood up and gave way to the elder sister.

He even wiped the small square stool thoughtfully and asked the eldest sister to sit down. Zhang Zhao couldn't laugh or cry.

In addition to these older ones, there are two younger ones. The second daughter is also the eldest daughter, Zhang Qinan, who is over one year old.

Zhang Zhao did not expect that on the wedding night, Cao Jiuniang's words about Yanxi's life became a prophecy.

The Nineteenth Mother said that day that if she didn't hurry up, Zhang Zhao might not know where to go, and now it really came true.

Before his daughter was one month old, Zhang Zhao raised his troops and went on an expedition. He left at the end of July last year and came back in mid-August this year.

It has been more than a year since he left. The daughter who was the size of a little mouse is now babbling and learning to call her father.

The other daughter was younger than his legitimate daughter and was also born to Cao Yanmian. She was about the same age as the third son Zhang Xianzhao. She was being held by a maid and was sleeping soundly.

Zhang Zhao apologetically took the hand of Yanxi, the 19th mother-in-law, but felt quite guilty. Zhang Zhao probably didn't hold his daughter five times from birth to over one year old.

This is also the reason why there is little affection between the eldest sons of the founders of the past dynasties. They get together less and separate more. In the blink of an eye, the children have grown up, and they may have their own team. It is strange that this relationship can be good.

Zhang Zhao had previously thought about whether he could do without eunuchs, but after looking at the length of his expedition, he realized that if he didn't need eunuchs in the future, he might end up with a green head, so he might as well just go with the flow.

In addition to his three biological sons and three daughters, Zhang Zhao also has three more important sons and one daughter.

Three adopted sons, Murong Nobunaga, Li Cunhui, and Zhang Liecheng.

The first two are his confidant generals, and the latter is actually in charge of the intelligence department for Zhang Zhao.

However, although Murong Nobunaga and Li Cunhui came to attend today's Mid-Autumn Festival dinner, and they were almost the same as his son, Zhang Zhao would not let them change their surnames.

Especially for Murong Nobunaga, once he changes his surname, he will have the right to inherit. This is very dangerous. Sometimes, things are not just based on personal will.

The remaining daughter, Tingting, is fifteen years old and very beautiful. She has no blood relationship with Zhang Zhao, nor does she have any blood relationship with Cao Yanmian. She is the daughter of Saktu and his predecessor Queen Geluolu.

The little girl was captured by Zhang Zhao when she was seven years old and has always been with him. Now she is completely Chinese, speaking Chinese and wearing Hanfu.

Cao Yanmian hinted several times that he could keep the little girl, but Zhang Zhao still couldn't get over the hurdle in his heart.

So he simply took advantage of this Mid-Autumn Festival to name her Zhang Qiwan, officially becoming Zhang Zhao's daughter.

After resting for a few days, at the end of August, edicts summoning the deputy ambassadors, governors, garrison envoys, and general soldiers of the Guiyi Army began to be issued frequently from Liangzhou.

Yan Jin who was guarding Qinzhou, Li Ruoyu in Taozhou, Fan Quan in Shanzhou, Pei Yuan in Lingzhou, Wu Luan in Xiazhou and others all received orders to rush to Liangzhou before November.

At the end of November, Zhang Zhao's aunt Princess Fengtian, who had returned to Khotan, and the Khotan prince Li Congde rushed from Khotan to Liangzhou, and the process of Zhang Zhao's founding of the country finally began.

However, although the country was founded, one purpose has not changed.

That is, Zhang Zhao did not close the door and pursue independence like Meng Zhixiang established Hou Shu.

It is not like Li Sheng of the Southern Tang Dynasty, who made Wu King Li Ke his ancestor and established a Tang Dynasty without legal principles.

Zhang Zhao led the Han people in Anxi, Hexi, and Longyou to return to the country with great righteousness. What he wanted to end was the chaotic and disorderly situation of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms in which "the emperor's soldiers and horses were strong."

This is destined that Zhang Zhao cannot build a country arbitrarily, without any reason, just for power.

Unless he is willing to become a separatist regime like Lu Guang and Zhang Gui.

It would have been extremely difficult to establish an independent country without compromising the interests of the country, but fortunately Zhang Zhao was in a very favorable window period.

Among the non-puppet emperors in China for more than 2,000 years, Shi Jingtang said that he was shameless and considered the second. No one dared to say that he was the first. Zhu Yougui, who killed his father and usurped the throne, had more cards than him.

At the same time, Zhang Zhao also had to consider leaving a way out for himself and not overly stimulate the Later Jin regime in the Central Plains.

Because realistically speaking, Zhang Zhao's Hexi regime is currently superior to the original Xixia in terms of its vast territory and good international form.

However, in terms of the mobilization ability of the political power, it is far inferior to the Xixia during the Li Yuanhao period in history.

There are currently about three million people under Zhang Zhao's rule, but among them, Zhang Zhao has established detailed and effective rule, and the number that can be fully mobilized will not exceed 1.5 million.

The rest are basically the Qiang, Dangxiang, Uighur, Dadan, Tubo and other ethnic groups.

Zhang Zhao could only carry out tribal leader-style rule through the leaders of various ministries, which was better than Ji Su rule.

With this small population, it is actually impossible to support tens of thousands of troops. In addition, the fields in Longyou, Hexi have been barren since the late Tang Dynasty, and productivity has been greatly damaged.

The reason why we can afford it now is because Zhang Zhao restored the Hexi trade route and opened up the small circulation of the Silk Road.

For example, sugar, rock sugar, tea bricks, cotton, and banknotes are all derived from this. This trade route is his lifeline.

If the Later Jin Dynasty was severely offended, the Later Jin Dynasty would block Tongguan and even blockade the various passes west of Chang'an, with the attitude of sacrificing 500 to itself and 1,000 to the enemy.

Forbidding merchants from Hexi to trade in the Central Plains and prohibiting the export of goods from the Central Plains to Hexi will inevitably lead to a collapse of the Hexi economy.

At that time, not to mention tens of thousands of cavalry, even more than ten thousand troops and horses will not be able to fight for a long time.

More importantly, if he turns the fire on himself, won't he take advantage of the Khitans?

Therefore, Zhang Zhao's general strategy was to tell the world openly that establishing an independent country was not his original intention, but that the emperor had lost his moral character, while secretly he wanted to anger Shi Jingtang to death.

The son emperor was originally caught between Liu Zhiyuan and the Khitan people in history. He suffered from frustration everywhere and died of depression in 942.

It's the end of 940 now, and it's very possible to die from anger a year early.

After Shi Jingtang died and Shi Chonggui, a hot-blooded but powerless man, came to power, Zhang Zhao could still use his status as an independent king to bargain with the Central Plains court, and it was not impossible for him to return to his country after losing his title.

After sorting out these pros and cons, the national title is very simple.

Han will definitely not be able to use it. It was granted by Shi Jingtang, and Jianguo will definitely not be able to use it.

The same goes for the Tang Dynasty. People in Anxi and Hexi no longer miss the Tang Dynasty and can regard themselves as survivors of the Tang Dynasty, but they definitely cannot use the Tang Dynasty as their national title, because after all, they are not descendants of the Li family.

Qin can't do it either. According to Guanlong, especially Guanzhong, it can be called Qin. Zhang Zhao has nothing to do with Long, so he can't be called Qin.

If you want to claim the title of Qin, unless you take Guanzhong now, the conflict with the Later Jin Dynasty will be irreconcilable.

Shi Jingtang only had one option: sending troops to fight Zhang Zhao. Yelu Deguang would probably wake up laughing in his dreams.

So for now, there is only Liang as an option, but it cannot be directly called Liang country, because that will destroy the image of the Guiyi Army returning to the country with righteousness.

At this time, the father, Zhang Chengfeng, the emperor in white, who had no influence on the current Zhang Zhao or the original Zhang Zhao, finally played his due role.

On the seventh day of the twelfth lunar month, Zhang Zhao built the Sheji Ancestral Temple on the outskirts of Liangzhou, slaughtered pigs, cattle and sheep to offer sacrifices to heaven, and issued a "Message to the Lord of Jin" to express it to the world.

The letter was sent to Meng Shu, Southern Tang, Ma Chu, Qian Yue, Jingnan, Wang Min, Southern Han Dynasty, as well as to Duan Siping, the envoy of Tong Haijun, and Wu Quan, the envoy of Jing Haijun.

Of course, this criticism does not mean crusade, but denunciation. In his appeal, Zhang Zhao denounced Shi Jingtang's five major crimes.

First, those who betrayed the Sixteen Prefectures of Yanyun and ordered to give up Yun Prefecture were sinners through the ages.

Second, as a national military envoy, he betrayed his country for glory, rebelled against the founding of the country, and had no loyalty at all.

Third, it is shameless to insult the country’s ancestors by claiming that the Chinese emperor’s father serves the Khitan.

Fourth, An Chongrong guarded the border for the country and had no objection. He was executed just because he opposed the Khitan, and his head was sent to the Khitan. This was an injustice to the monarch.

Fifth, Du Chongwei killed innocent people indiscriminately in Zhenzhou, and 50,000 people died. Shi Jingtang not only did not punish him, but also shielded him wantonly, and promoted him to a higher position, which was unkind.

The Guiyi Army was trapped in Tubo for a hundred and fifty years, but they could still return home. The returnees were not a king like Shi Jingtang, the leader of Jin, who was unfaithful, unjust, unkind, and even more ungrateful to the world.

What the Guiyi Army wants to return is the benevolent and virtuous Central Plains Celestial Dynasty.

Therefore, three million soldiers and civilians in Hexi, Anxi, Longyou, Lingwu, and Xiasui were forced to stand on their own.

Zhang Zhao established the Jinshan and Daliang Kingdom of the Western Han Dynasty on his own and called himself the King of Daliang. The second year after the fall of the Tang Dynasty, 908 AD, was the first year of the Jinshan Kingdom of the Western Han Dynasty. This year is the thirty-second year of the Jinshan Kingdom of the Western Han Dynasty.

Zhang Zhao also made it clear to the world that if a Holy Lord emerges from the Central Plains, millions of residents of the Liang Kingdom will return to the country.
