End the gossip

Finally finished...

At two and a half million words, it is the longest book I have ever written.

It took a total of fifteen months to write the book from the time it was published, which is also the longest book I have ever written.

I have considered several times whether I should write a little space story.

In the end, I decided to complete the mechanical transformation and officially enter space life, as the end point of the main text of this book.

The story of the Ming Empire completing the prosperous unification of the earth and entering the galactic era is indeed misleading.

But since this book is history, it’s better not to extend it into that category.

The main thing is that the space plot needs to be conceived separately, which is equivalent to a completely new story.

Arrange a little space story, and if you want to carefully plan some settings and plots, it won't take tens of thousands of words to complete.

I really don’t want to continue writing for another month, I really want to lie down and take a rest.

There should be many readers who feel that many of the plots in my book are watery, and I do not deny that some things should indeed be considered watery.

But I still want to argue that the water of this kind of book is different from the water of various fantasies.

Most of the fantasy water is actually writing small things in great detail, or piling up a lot of meaningless dialogue.

Or you can continuously write separate side plots that have nothing to do with the main plot, and the content of the plot is relatively boring.

In that mode, you can really write a lot of text very quickly. I can write two thousand words in two hours.

However, most of the water content in this book actually belongs to the category of worldview setting, as well as my own output of views on various social logics.

Settings are inherently the most time-consuming to write, and also the most wasteful of energy and brain cells. You won’t be able to write many words in a day.

When outputting opinions, you also need to organize your thoughts and be able to justify yourself. You cannot just ramble on or write too fast.

In fact, what I want to say is that the number of words I wrote is not enough for the brain cells I have exhausted, so I feel more tired.

Especially in the later stages, I read less and less, and I have no motivation to write.

It’s boring for everyone to read, and it’s troublesome for me to write it, so I’d better not write it anymore.

I said I wanted to finish it two months ago, but it took me two more months to sort out the ending.

Now I finally have a place where I can have a relatively safe and complete ending.

So I stopped here.

I am actually sorting out data on near-Earth stars and all kinds of basic astronomy knowledge.

These things have been used in previous books.

However, my previous ship girls were all super-technical, and they were all two-dimensional fantasy disguised as science fiction.

And this book was written to be as real as possible...

Of course it's not absolutely true, and it's definitely not on the level of true science fiction.

It's just as real as possible compared to my previous books.

What I originally considered was that the protagonist would travel from the solar system to the seven Persian systems in one hundred and twenty years at one-tenth the speed of light.

Establish large-scale space residential stations on the orbits of asteroids or gaseous planets, and then prepare to slowly transform the planets.

Try to use one to two hundred years to transform a planet that is relatively livable for humans.

In the next two to three hundred years, he will basically live in this galaxy.

In other words, they are all boring things...

If you want to be more interesting, you have to plan for extraterrestrial life and other interstellar civilizations.

Break away from the logic of being as realistic as possible.

Begins a space opera-like story similar to the stars.

I wrote some of it in my last book.

Magical civilizations on double planet systems, civilizations on satellites of brown dwarfs, civilizations in crystal and energy states, etc.

I may write something similar in the future, but not this book.

Now comes the question of the next book to consider.

Should I change the time period and write a smaller-scale fictional history?

The opening of this book is too big, and Ming Dynasty would crush it with a little effort, and most of the plot becomes a set account.

It is also because I have never written history, and I have never written a story that is too depressing, so I am unlikely to create a sufficiently depressing environment for the protagonist.

Perhaps if Ming Dynasty only had its own territory, or even only half of the country, the situation might be more stressful.

Even directly south...south to Nanyang, even south to Nanming in the southern continent.

However, it seems that someone has already written about this aspect, so it is difficult to create a sufficient point of difference.

But no matter what, if I want to continue writing history, I will still focus on the international situation, and international affairs will still be the key plot.

First, there is little pressure on harmony in international affairs.

Second, there is nothing left to write about domestic affairs.

Whether it is a book that extended the life of the Ming Dynasty or a book that fought against the Qing Dynasty in various eras, there are no one knows how many books there are.

Everything that can be written has already been written by a master.

The fate of me, a newcomer in history, will definitely be swept away.

However, there are relatively few books dedicated to the Eastern empires’ active participation in modern international affairs.

In most books about continuing the Ming Dynasty or fighting against the Qing Dynasty, international affairs are at the end.

Third, the international situation from a global perspective is also the most suitable category for key policies.

This is also my favorite direction, and it should be popular with many readers of this book.

Therefore, my focus will still be on the Eastern Empire’s participation in international affairs.

Apart from the untouchable domestic modern history, my favorite era is before and after the Napoleonic Wars.

From the American Revolution to the American Civil War, the center and climax was the Napoleonic Wars.

It happened to be the transition from the handicraft era to the industrial era of large-scale machine production.

The era of the Napoleonic Wars was also an era when international affairs and foreign affairs truly became important enough matters.

The author of this book was so frustrated.

In the future, I want to write a story where Nahuang can function normally, and then Ming Dynasty will also have the opportunity to cooperate with Nahuang to clean up the forces of the Old Continent.

Refers to beating and dismembering Lucia.

The forces on the World Island are full of contradictions, which is the prerequisite for the United States of America to become bigger and even control the whole world.

Lucia, who spans the entire World Island from east to west, brings together the contradictions of the World Island.

He had conflicts with the European and American countries in the west, conflicts with the Eastern Empire in the east, and conflicts with the Central Asian steppes and the Ottomans.

His size also makes it impossible for anyone to ignore him.

If the Ming Dynasty and Nahuang each occupied one side and managed their surrounding forces on the east and west sides of the World Island, it would be difficult for the two sides to have direct conflicts with each other separated by the wasteland in the middle.

In fact, after Lucia lost eastern Siberia, there was no conflict with the Eastern Empire.

By the way, it is also my hobby to clean up the colonies of the British Empire.

Of course, it would be better to dismember the United States and allow the Americas to form at least five independent countries.

Then the United States and South America can be ignored.

Another idea is to actually go to the Science Fiction Channel and write a Ming Dynasty Galaxy Empire similar to the world view of the stars.

Take the sci-fi energy level up a notch.

But I actually still don’t have much confidence in writing good science fiction stories.

If the conditions are too bad, you worry that the protagonist will not be able to get up, but if the conditions are too good, it will easily turn into a crushing game.

In the past, writing about ship girls couldn’t be considered science fiction at all.

I still haven’t decided what to write in my next book.

If you have any ideas, please share them for reference.
