Xuanzang silently bowed to Master Jiexian.
"Thank you, Master, for clarifying my doubts."
"No, we actually learn more from each other. Although you came here to study Buddhist scriptures, we also learned a lot from you, your piety, your experience, and your will." Jie Xian The mage shook his head slightly and said with a smile.
"So, will you continue to study here?"
"I want to learn Sanskrit well. In addition, I wonder if the master can let me bring more Tianzhu books back to the Tang Dynasty, not just Buddhist scriptures. I think these cultures also have their value. I have learned a lot from His Highness's books , but I also need more examples and more history to let me learn more." Xuanzang said softly.
"Of course, this is not a problem. There are actually many books hidden here. I think you can take them away if you can, because they...maybe they can only be better preserved in the Tang Dynasty. Here...I'm afraid One day, they were all destroyed by war." Master Jie Xian paused for a moment before speaking.
"Thank you, Master." Xuanzang silently bowed again.
Master Jiexian smiled and left directly. After Master Jiexian left, Xuanzang's face became less confused. Master Jiexian's words were useful to him.
But it was of little use. The other party gave his advice here based on his age of nearly a hundred years old. However, Xuanzang himself actually figured out some issues, but figuring them out and making up his mind were two different things.
But how easy is it to give up the faith that he has worked hard for for thirty years so easily?
In fact, it is not easy for him to figure it out. For most people like him, compared with thirty years of faith, this book is more deviant and will be described as a witchcraft to deceive the public.
But Xuanzang knew very well that it was an unprecedented thought, a brand-new thought, ahead of the rest of the world.
Because he traveled westward and passed through dozens of countries. It took several years to reach Tianzhu. He traveled tens of thousands of miles and saw too many. It can be said that some examples of each country were given to him by His Highness. You can find relevant theoretical knowledge in this book.
It was precisely because of this journey that Xuanzang was able to truly appreciate how advanced the ideas contained in this book were. And I heard that the Tang Dynasty is currently undergoing such reforms! Think about how powerful a country like the Tang Dynasty would be if it completed such a restructuring.
Xuanzang thought of what he saw and heard, and decided to write down what he saw, heard, and all his feelings in conjunction with His Highness's book. He had already thought of the title of the book, "Records of the Western Regions of the Tang Dynasty."
Just after thinking about the title of the book, Xuanzang suddenly thought of the news he had received two days ago... The serfs in Tubo rebelled. Xuanzang knew about the Tibetan system and understood it in detail. The serfs in Tubo rebelled. And applied to surrender to the Tang Dynasty, and originally Tubo officially became the territory of the Tang Dynasty, called the Qinghai-Tibet Road.
And Tubo... is not that far away from him now. If he really wants to leave, he estimates that it won't even take half a year to return to Datang through the Yadong Pass.
Thinking of this, Xuanzang smiled bitterly. Perhaps, he should not call it "The Records of the Western Regions of the Tang Dynasty" but "The Journey of the Tang Dynasty"?
However, these are not important anymore. He has already made a decision. He will write this book and share what he has seen and heard, especially the political system and the lives of the people mentioned in His Highness's book. The methods, the oppression they suffered, etc. are all written down.
Perhaps it can be used as a reference for the future reform of Datang.
As for Buddhist scriptures.
Xuanzang had already made a decision in his heart. Just like Master Jiexian said, as long as you are loyal to your own heart, you will be too persistent and you will become obsessed with it. Once the land of China was invaded by foreigners, those who put down the wooden fish and put down their spiritual practice , it is not that there are no masters going to the battlefield.
They just made their own choices, and they also used their own power to save all people.
Now, he has to find a way to take away all the Tianzhu books stored in Nalanda Temple. He can feel that the atmosphere around the temple is getting more and more anxious. A large number of Tianzhu people have come to Nalanda Temple recently. Pray here, and many nobles from India will also bring some gold and silver here to donate to the Buddhist temple.
Xuanzang knew very well that they could not take away the gold, silver, and former nobles of Tianzhu, so they wanted to "donate" these things to the Buddhist temple in an attempt to find "salvation" for themselves.
But the fact that Tibet, which actually controls this area, tolerates Nalanda Temple now does not mean that they will tolerate it in the future.
Those books were brought by some Tianzhu people from Wangshe City, where many precious cultural and scientific research materials of Tianzhu throughout history were recorded.
Xuanzang wanted to take all of this away, otherwise he knew very well that these things would be destroyed sooner or later in Tianzhu.
After studying in Tianzhu for so long, Xuanzang already knew enough about this place. This continent was different from China. When some of their foreign sects invaded here, some of the sects' classics would be destroyed.
They do not have the Confucian way of tolerance.
Xuanzang thought that some of the words written by His Highness in this book were very useful. Culture and knowledge are the most precious wealth of mankind. Even if some culture may be just dross, after one or two thousand years, it may be used by future generations to record. A civilized history of our cultural process.
Record the evolutionary history of how people evolved from ignorance to civilization.
But it was difficult for him to take all the books away because there were too many. Nalanda Temple has a glorious history in Tianzhu. It once attracted scholars from different countries around the world to come here to study and exchange, so it is preserved here. Different cultures from various regions, and Xuanzang wanted all of these!
He couldn't take it with him, but he thought that before His Highness left, he could go to Yuzhang Island. It was only a few hundred miles away. If he took a boat down the river, he could reach it in a few days. If you contact Datang, I believe that Tibet would not dare to oppose Datang now.
At least Xuanzang didn't hear that Songtsen Gampo, Zampo of Tibet, was sending troops to take back Tibet.
With an idea in his mind, Xuanzang was no longer confused. After sorting out his thoughts, Xuanzang went to rest.
The next day, when Xuanzang was studying Sanskrit, suddenly there was a rush of footsteps outside the door, and then a young monk opened the door to Xuanzang's room. He looked anxious and said in Sanskrit: " Master...the Tubo army is coming, and Master Jiexian asked me to inform you that they are here to find you."
