Dorgon sat in Beijing and commanded Azig, Duduo, Haoge and others at will. He swept away Li Zicheng, Zhang Xianzhong and others, wiped out King Fu's court, and asked Duduo's deputy Boluo to divide his troops and capture Lu who surrendered in Hangzhou. King, drove away King Lu from eastern Zhejiang.
Dorgon not only had illustrious martial arts, but also had awe-inspiring martial arts. In the seventh year of Shunzhi, on the ninth day of December, Dorgon coughed up blood and died. Sixteen days later, Emperor Shunzhi named him Emperor Cheng Zongyi.
At the time of his death, he had already called himself "Emperor Father and Regent" for two years. It is not surprising that he was promoted to the title of Emperor as "Emperor Father". We have also said before that Borzijit Bumubutai (later the Queen Mother Xiaozhuang) should have really married Dorgon, and there was indeed an incident of committing herself to Dorgon.
After Dorgon's death, Azig saw that no one could rule again. As Dorgon's half-brother, he tried to succeed him, but he forgot that Dorgon's status did not come from One's own royal status comes from one's own abilities. The status can be inherited, but the abilities will not be transmitted through blood relations.
However, Azig's strength was no longer less than one banner (part of it had been deprived of). How could it compare with the glory and power of Dorgon's four banners? As a result, Azig was convicted and imprisoned, and was sentenced to death.
After Emperor Shunzhi came to power, Prince Zheng Jierhalang also regained power. In the first year of Shunzhi, because his own power could not compare with Dorgon, his power of auxiliary government was handed over to Dorgon; and in the fourth year of Shunzhi, In July of that year, Duduo even took the title of assistant government.
Emperor Shunzhi restored the princely status of his three cousins, Chu Ying's son Nikan; Daishan's son Mandahai; and Abatai's son Bolo. These three people were originally used by Dorgon. They were in charge of the six departments of officials, households, rituals, military, punishment and work. They were called the "Three Kings of Administration".
In February of the eighth year of Shunzhi, Jierhalang and the three political kings first executed Dorgon's best friend Heluo Hui, who had military power, and Heluo Hui's younger brother Hu Xi. Instigated Dorgon's former cronies Suksaha, Zhan Dai, and Mu Zilun to report Dorgon, saying that he privately made a yellow robe with eight "patches" on it, a mandarin coat with sable fur, and a large amount of stored stuff. Pearls and Suzhu, these are things that only emperors can use, to express Dorgon's willingness to usurp the throne.
Jierhalang and the three ministers reported to Emperor Shunzhi based on the reports of Suksaha and others, saying that Dorgon was indeed treasonous. They also sorted out some accusations: saying that the ceremonial guards, music, attendants, and residences used by Huang Taiji during his lifetime were completely imperial regulations; saying that Dorgon once said that "Emperor Taizong Wen (Huang Taiji) should not have ascended the throne according to the order"; Haug was also forced to death and his wife was kept as a concubine, which was especially against human ethics. The attitude of each of them can be summed up as follows: "I used to be afraid of authority and swallow my voice, but now I risk my life to report it, and I am willing to punish him severely."
At this time, Emperor Shunzhi was only fourteen years old. He was a monarch who ascended the throne at the age of six. We cannot expect him to have any great abilities now or use power to deal with his ministers. He felt that what Jierhalang and others had done was very important. With reason, he issued an order to cut off Dorgon's "Emperor Cheng Zongyi"; move his tablets and the tablets of his biological mother Uranala out of the Ancestral Temple; and did not allow Dorgon's grandson Duoerbo (Duduo) to live with him. Born), he attacked him and Prince Shuorui, and all Dorgon's property was confiscated.
Dorgon's cronies, except for Suk Saha and three others, were all punished.
