After Huang Taiji captured Hong Chengchou and Zu Dashou and surrendered, he treated them very well. His ministers were like Yun Chang and Yide, the right-hand men of Emperor Zhaolie of the Han Dynasty. They were jealous of Kong Mingzhi's "fish in water" and said to Huang Taiji, "Why?" Why are you treating Zu and Hong so generously?" Huang Taiji laughed when he saw this: "This is like walking, you and I are both blind, but now that we have found a guide, why not?"
But no one could have imagined that Huang Taiji's current happy time would not last long. Eight months later, on the night of the third day of September in the eighth year of Chongde (the sixteenth year of Chongzhen), he died without any illness. The "die without illness" also comes from the official announcement of the Qing Dynasty. It is worth noting that in the morning of this day, he was still sitting in court and listening to politics. He was only fifty-two years old, and his death was indeed a bit strange.
In fact, Huang Taiji's body often suffered from some problems after the death of his beloved Concubine Chen in the sixth year of Chongde. However, after being ill for a long time, he would often recover on his own and go hunting and handle government affairs as usual. Maybe in terms of traditional Chinese medicine, it consumes energy and lifespan.
After Huang Taiji's death, Dorgon gradually took over the power. He did not allow Huang Taiji's son Hauge to ascend the throne, but deliberately allowed a six-year-old child (Aisin Gioro Fulin) to inherit the throne. It has to be said that regarding the death of Huang Taiji, Dorgon was the most suspected of murdering Huang Taiji.
Of course, Dorgon is also the son of Nurhaci, but he has the same father as Huang Taiji. Huang Taiji’s mother is Yehenala, the princess of Yehe Kingdom, while Dorgon’s mother is Ulanala. , is the princess of Ula Kingdom. Yehenala died early and gave birth to only Huang Taiji, but Huang Taiji had been close to Uranala since he was a child. Uranala gave birth to three sons: Azig, Dorgon, and Duduo. After Huang Taiji came to the throne, the status of the three people was greatly improved: Azige was named the Prince of Wuying, Dorgon was named Prince Rui, and Duduo was named the Prince of Yu.
It is worth noting that Huang Taiji only gave the title of Prince of Li to Daishan, one of the other brothers. Abatai has made great contributions, but he is always just a "Doro Rao Yubeile", and "Doro" means "royal relative".
Nurhachi was very fond of the Ulanara clan and his three sons, and all three sons were granted the title of one of the Jurchen Eight Banners. When Nurhachi died, Huang Taiji was already thirty-five years old, while Dorgon was only fifteen years old, Duduo was fourteen years old, and Azig was slightly older and had already joined the army to fight. Huang Taiji also treated Dorgon very well. In the first year of Chongde, Dorgon and Duduo were named princes, ranking second only to Daishan who had originally made Khan. Even before (the fourth year of Chongde), Dorgon was given the management of the Ministry of Household Affairs, the money management part of the Six-Ministry System.
In October of the seventh year of Chongde, Huang Taiji handed over the power of ruling on government affairs to four ministers: in addition to the eldest son Hauge and his cousin Jierhalang, they were Azig and Dorgon. Of course, it can be clearly seen that Huang Taiji's approach and measures really followed the example of his father Nurhaci's establishment of the "Four Major Baylors".
Huang Taiji never established a prince until his death, which may be due to his brother Chu Ying, but it is indeed true that he always focused on training his eldest son Hauge. He listed Hauge as one of the "four major auxiliaries" and also trained Hauge. Ge means the future emperor. After Huang Taiji died suddenly, Dorgon established Fulin (Emperor Shunzhi) and deprived Hauge of his auxiliary status. The auxiliary position was reduced from four to two, and only Jierharang and himself were born.
It would be four months before he took over the power. In the first month of the first year of Shunzhi, he signaled Jierhalang to order the ministers of all ministries and chambers to consult him for instructions on everything. From then on, he became the actual ruler-the emperor.
