This situation was not noticed when the renovation was stopped. At that time, the complete renovation of the wooden board part was stopped only because the raw performance of jellyfish wood was better than that of oak and it was expected to be made into frosted glass.

It may be due to the difference in cell wall composition and cell structure. Although dried jellyfish is 25% lighter, it even performs better than oak.

So most wood needs a way to block light.

The process of wood board carbonization is very simple. Bundle several boards together and stand them up. Use charcoal fire to grill one end in a non-contact manner. Smoke will emit from the gap at the top of the bundled wood for a period of time, or an open flame will appear. After unfolding, you need to scrape off the excessive carbonization. The surface of wood that has been carbonized will gain anti-corrosion, moisture-proof, and surface hardness buffs. The wood grain will have a higher contrast in dark colors, and it will be easier to create a smooth feel, so you can save the veneer.

Carbonization cannot be used on the floor because the wear-resistant properties of the floor are more important and conflict with the carbonization results.

As the ghosts gradually disappeared and without the guests, the blacksmith and the Eight King Kongs were able to focus more on the RV project, and finally completed all the work within a week of the end of the snowmelt season.

It's called a renovation, but it's actually like rebuilding the RV.

There are no cities to the west from Yabur, and the RV needs to transform from a travel tool into a true mobile campsite.

Due to the blacksmith's skills and complete materials, many things could not be made, so he had to enlarge the RV.

The outer width cannot be increased from 2.4 meters to 2.5 meters, because 2.5 meters is the width of a city bus. The road conditions going west are even more severe. There are no serious load-carrying transportation lines. Mindlessly widening the traffic capacity will cause big problems. , 2.5 meters may require frequent stops to cut down trees.

There is no room for width, so it can only be lengthened. The length of a large RV increases from 7 meters to 10 meters. If you add more, it will really become a bus.

When there is a conflict between traffic power and comfort, traffic power has a higher priority. Wang Qi does not intend to add more attributes to the Eight King Kongs to prevent them from being too floating.

It is 10 meters long and 2.5 meters wide, with double-storey bedrooms at the head and tail. Using 7 cm thick oak to make such a box weighs 4.2 tons. With this weight and the extended outer frame, there is not much leftover for internal equipment and material storage.

In order to create more space and room for additional protection, the original plan had to use 5cm thick wooden boards in addition to the floor and doors, which could save a full ton of weight.

Now the entire car is made of 7cm thick jellyfish wood, and the car weighs only 200 kilograms more than the 5cm version. The protection and heat insulation provided by the extra two centimeters of wood are enough for people to make the right decision.

A two-centimeter wooden board, taking oak as an example, should be 2.5 meters long and have a certain width so that people can walk in the air.

The RV frame does not have such a large gap. The 2 cm thick wooden floor is enough for a bunch of people to run around on it, and the single point load can reach more than 150 kilograms.

The wall is 5 cm and 7 cm, which is the difference between axe-proof and bear-proof. Coupled with the metal protective frame, bears under one ton are unlikely to pose any threat to the interior.

After the RV is enlarged, the weight of one ton to repair the protective board can only be a layer of iron sheet, which has no protection at all and is not as good as two centimeters thick wood.

The solution is not to use board protection, but to use 1 mm steel strands to distribute the force to the outer frame and reduce the damage to the board.

The style of the steel strand grid plus the metal frame is very strange. Wang Qi has calculated that this is the solution that maximizes the use of the frame's protective power and the lightest total weight. The entire car frame is covered in mesh, with a wire spacing of three centimeters, and weighs only 240 kilograms. Part of it is reinforced with 3 millimeter stranded wires and will not exceed 300 kilograms.

When the finished product comes out, the total weight of the large RV excluding material storage has exceeded 7.5 tons, and the operating weight will be close to or even exceed 9 tons. It seems that the new attributes of the Eight King Kongs are already indispensable.

The new version of the large RV also adjusts the structural relationship between the frame and the wooden boards, using mortise and tenon grooves and I-shaped aluminum alloy materials to embed them together to ensure strength while gaining space millimeter by millimeter.

In the version that finally landed, the distance between the inner wall of the wooden board and the outer defensive steel strand was 8.8 centimeters. Considering the processing accuracy, it could only be calculated as nine centimeters.

The practical internal width of the new car is 2.32 meters, which is 2.2 meters wider than the previous version with an external width of 2.4 meters and an internal width of 2.2 meters. The 2.5-meter version has an additional 2 centimeters internal width with thickened wooden boards.

2 centimeters may seem insignificant, but when placed in a car with a length of ten meters, the total available space is 0.4 cubic meters more. When a burial coffin is put in, there is still more... well, multiple large refrigerator spaces.

The new configuration has two bedrooms at the front and rear with an internal height of 1.35 meters. The length of the bedrooms remains 2.4 meters, as does the front bedroom. From the front of the car door to the front bedroom door, the car body can be pulled out, just like the drawer. Then pull down the two wooden boards on the car roof that are used as sliding doors, and then secure two 3x0.9 pieces for the inside of the car, totaling 5.4 square meters. Extra space!

When the main space is not in the camping state, the deformation mechanism is partitioned, and the width of the passage is 0.55 meters, which is about the same as the bathroom door. The most difficult process of the whole car is also the several boards of the deformation mechanism. They are also made of angle steel and X-shaped aluminum profiles. Due to precision reasons, there is a two millimeter gap in the deformation of the finished car. Our skills are really difficult to handle. When unfolding in winter, we have to use mud to cover it to ensure the temperature inside the car. We don't need to worry about it at ordinary times.

The total area available for camping with the new car reaches 40 square meters, that is, with a length of 3 meters, a width of 10 centimeters, and an additional load of more than 3 tons, the total area is almost doubled.
