Shanhaiguan College, as its name suggests, is a school in Shanhaiguan.

In Zhu Youjian's view, Confucian thought should be more useful in being a human being rather than being an official.

To put it bluntly, Confucian students are not suitable for officialdom.

Many Confucian advocates are beneficial to personal growth but are not conducive to national development.

Ancient traditional culture attaches great importance to official ethics, and its main content and standards are: "six debates", the debate of advance and retreat, the debate of poverty and adversity, the debate of priority, the debate of joy and sorrow, the debate of life and death, and the debate of justice and benefit;

"Three realms", the realm of successive realms, the realm of joy and sorrow, and the realm of life and death;

The "Ten Standards" include publicity, benevolence, purity, prudence, diligence, loyalty, filial piety, trustworthiness, integrity, uprightness, etc.

But as we all know, this is just to show off.

In history, even among the so-called clean streams, only a few were able to do so.

In the cycle of history, didn’t that time turn from not being partially incorruptible to being an official and a beast?

Many Confucian ideas are good, but in the face of interests, morality is a joke.

There is no denying that there are indeed those upright officials in history who emerged from the mud and remained unsullied.

But since it is coming out of the mud, doesn't it just show the darkness of officialdom?

Among those officials, isn't that one a great talent, and that one isn't a descendant of a saint?

But is it useful?

No? It has no effect at all.

In Zhu Youjian's view, if the country wants to last long, it must ensure that Li's officials are honest. If he wants his officials to be honest, he must learn from Emperor Hongwu. --

Kill corrupt officials with a thousand cuts.

And as the dynasty progresses, this process cannot stop.

Marx once said that if capital has 50% profit, it will take desperate risks; if it has 100% profit, it will dare to trample on all laws in the world.

In fact, this applies not only to capitalists, but also to all industries. Especially in official circles.

After all, throughout history, there has never been an end to those beasts who embezzled disaster relief funds and donated money from the people.

If you want to change this result, in addition to necessary supervision, you must also let those people know that corruption is a loss-making business.

How to achieve this is to use their lives and the fate of their families to offset the impact of corruption.

What Zhu Youjian said to the remnants of the Qing Dynasty in later generations was that Zhu Yuanzhang killed 150,000 corrupt officials but was still unable to eliminate corruption. Yongzheng only used three tricks to make no one dare to be corrupt and sneered.

What later generations said about "Yongzheng's dynasty was full of officials" was even regarded as a joke.

Thinking that the Qing Dynasty people were shameless in this matter, they were putting gold on their own faces.

But I have to say that the opponent's three moves are indeed of reference value.

Yongzheng's method of cracking down on corrupt officials was divided into three steps: first dismissal from office, and then claiming compensation. This blocked the possibility of corrupt officials continuing to prey on the people. Once the amount owed is verified, no matter how high the status or seniority, the full amount must be compensated.

Once the crimes of corrupt officials have been verified, the government offices will be rigorously searched, and officials from their hometowns will be notified to seize their property, monitor their families, recover the sold property, and eliminate the possibility of transferring and hiding stolen money. Even if corrupt officials die, compensation must be sought from their descendants.

Not only that, the perpetrators of corrupt officials not only want the people to see it, but also let the officials in charge be present to watch the execution, so that they can truly feel the despair and fear, thus acting as a deterrent.

I have to say that this method is not benevolent. But Zhu Youjian still prefers this method.

After all, benevolence and righteousness are towards people. Do corrupt officials count as people?
